Nokia 8 unable to boot into recovery

Hi
I need help to reboot into recovery.
Have tried most methods on youtube and most android webpages.
The vol up or down and power key all combos.
Only thing i could get was into safe mode.
Model: TA - 1004
Hardware: 64gb storage/ 4gb ram
Software: Oreo8 and was nougat 7.1.1 (didnt work for both)
Dev options: OEM unlocking selected.
Appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks!
Hello,
1- Nokia off.
2- Plug USB cable (mandatory).
3- Then push on vol+ until android robot appears.
4- Then push Power On first, maintain it and then press Vol+ to launch recovery menu.
Works fine for me.
Regards
Christian

Appreciated ty. gonna try
This does not work for me. I've watched videos on YouTube, and still, nothing. If I hold down the volume-up and power buttons, I just get the android logo over and over. This is a pretty essential functionality to be lacking. Someone on Nokia Support forums said some of the phones do not have a recovery?
Personally I tried several methods for booting into recovery, using the button combinations that were instructed on different sites. In the end the only method that worked for me, was enabling Android debugging and using adb to boot into recovery. Too bad that after all that, the recovery was of no help for me, as there was no option to wipe ART cache.

Same experience here, and again I was going for a cache wipe, but apparently Oreo manages cache different to Nougat. Here for what is worth, to the original questioner, is the note I made having finally got into recovery after many frustrating attempts:
1. Connect via USB cable to PC
2. Ensure ADB debugging is on and the "Transfer Files" mode is selected
3. At the command-line type: adb reboot recovery
The phone will reboot to an image of an android robot on it's back with a red exclamation mark and "no command" written on the screen
4. When you see this, first hold the power button down and then, while still holding the power button, press Vol+
You should now be in the recovery menu
---------- Post added at 03:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ----------
I played around with this method, originally Posted by cb_diamond, and found it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, this may be of help to the first questioner. Almost the same sequence as previously described but holding down Vol+ before attaching the cable, this seems to work consistently for me.
1. Power off your Nokia 8
2. Hold Vol+ down (and continue to hold it down)
3. Plug in a USB cable from your PC into the phone, after a few seconds "Powered by Android Appears" and several seconds later the image of the green android robot appears on screen. You can now let go Vol+
4. Next hold the power button down and while doing so press Vol+
Hopefully you are now in the recovery menu

Z1 bricked after trying to reboot into recovery

Hello,
I wanted to flash TWRP into my Z1 C6903 so I downloaded latest TWRP img with official TWRP app and tried flashing it with RASH - Flash tool for Android. The tool stated that the flash was successful so I proceeded to reboot into recovery with the same app. The phone immediately shut down and wouldn't boot back up to neither Android or recovery. It would vibrate once when holding the power button, holding power + volume up would do nothing and phone would not be recognized by PC and even plunging it into wall would do nothing. I tried disconnecting the batter, plunging it to wall and connecting the battery back on which only made LED blink red and device still be not recognized by PC. Can someone help me how to unbrick my phone?
Thank you.

Magic keys for booting to recovery are either:
Hold Vol down and power
release Power when device vibrates, keep holding Vol down
hold Vol down until in recovery
Or:
Power on
if LED blinks press Vol up
If that shouldn't work there's fastboot (only with bootloader unlocked before) or sony flashtool. Just flash latest sony firmware and you should be fine.
There are enough threads concerning this

That doesn't work, the phone doesn't respond to any inputs from buttons.

Then Flashtool is your friend. You have to reflash the Sony Software.

How to stop Nokia 2.3 from auto boot when charger is plugged in?

1. Automatic boot when charger is connected, power off this Nokia 2.3 then connecting the charger is like pressing the power button, it just do a normal start, also power it down while connected to to charger still it just do a normal rebooting.
2. Factory reset is locked (settings>backup and restore>factory reset>) that function is greyed out meanwhile it's not working even if you touch for ages.
3. Build number is not working, (settings>about phone>build number) tapping this function Has to unlock developer options hence this function is not working too There's no way I can enable debugging mode.
4. Recovery boot is locked, pressing power button + Vol- it display this massage "as fastboot is locked..... your phone will restart in (3)s"....., Pressing power button + Vol+ the device just start normally,. Pressing all the three buttons device will not react at all, I tried holding these 3 buttons for 2 minutes but nothing happened.
5. No updates to fix this online currently running android 10 which means there's no android 11 patches for Nokia 2.3 to fix this issues
6. Can't root this device as almost every possibility is off.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS ANDROID 10 ROM AM USING WAS FLASHED TO THIS DEVICE BY A FRIEND MEANWHILE THE UPDATE FROM ANDROID PIE(9) TO ANDROID 10 (R) WAS DONE OFFLINE

Any help on this please?

[SOLVED] - Phone severely bricked

Hello,
I was on CrDoid 7.2. (Android 11) It was working normally.
I rebooted to recovery (TWRP 3.5), and flashed CrDroid 6.2 (Android 10).
And it bricked severely the phone. At startup, i get a message
"REV CHECK FAIL, DEVICE:9, BINARY:8 (DTB)"
I really think the situation is hopeless :
- impossible to reach download mode
- impossible reach recovery mode
- BixBy + Volume down + Power + plugging the cable doesn't work
- if the telephone stays plugged, i get a boot-loop (before the message "your bootloader is unlocked, please press power button to continue")
Any help is welcome but i really think i lost my phone. Quite painful. I'm not so rich.
I think the device tree of the ROM i flashed is mistaken.
I played i lost.

Try the FRP Hijacker Tool. It has also happened to me that nothing worked anymore. The cell phone does not appear in the list, but still worked with the SC-01C and SoftBrick Fixer.
This also happened to me before, and I also couldn't get back to TWRP.
The error "REV CHECK FAIL, DEVICE:9, BINARY:8 (DTB)" means that the version of your device is at 9 and the binary you flashed is at 8. You can't simply downgrade Android versions on Samsung devices.
Are you sure you can't enter download mode? The key combination to enter download mode isn't what you said (" BixBy + Volume down + Power + plugging the cable doesn't work "). Try PLUGGING YOUR PHONE IN YOUR PC + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY.
If you can access download mode, let me know so I can help you get your device unbricked.
Hello,
My mistake is that I downgraded from 11 to 10. You are probably right.
I think (but i'm not sure) that during downgrading, the sboot.bin is not anymore matching with the Device Tree and it generates a crash during flashing.
@WSC Productions : Huge thanks for the advice about the combo buttons.
@bininga59 : I'll give a try to your solution with the software FRP Hijacker Tool. But the phone is restarting itslef every 5 seconds..I wonder how a connection can be established.
Tonight will be a long night again

You can definitely go back from A11 to A10. It's the same bootloader (9). If it keeps restarting, then you should get into download mode too. Emergency off and then immediately quieter + Bixby immediately push the USB plug in.

No problemo. Try @bininga59 's advice, it'll probably work - he probably knows more than I do about Samsung ROMs tbh. If it doesn't though, let me know.
What i didn't know :
Doing Volume down + BixBy Button + plugging cable for simple electric supply
Is not the same as
Doing Volume down + BixBy Button + plugging cable linked to a computer
The cable you plug to the telephone while you are pressing volume down + BixBy must be linked to a computer.
I finally reached the Download Mode
Many thanks again

It has to work, maybe you have to vary the timing, also you can try with tap on restart phone and keep pressing only volume up button till recovery appears.
if you upgraded to android 11 you HAVE to plug in via USB....not sure why they changed so much on android 11
I'm on A11 and the button method works fine for me... on the three S10+ phones I have used recently.
I asked this question on the community section in the Samsung members app and someone told me I needed to plug in the device into my charger and then press volume up and bixby and after pressing them while keeping them pressed I need to press the power button.and Keep all the 3 buttons pressed till I am in recovery,This has worked for me

You have no idea how grateful I am for your explanation. Everyone always says a bunch of different key combinations and timing and I ALWAYS have to google it and try many times untill I am able to reboot. But it was THIS SIMPLE ALL ALONG. Wow. This worked perfectly and only on my first try! Since there is no timing to worry about. and only one key to remember. I do normally have to have my cable connected to my PC. But now it is so simple! THANK YOU
