[Q] T-Mobile Bootloader Unlock?

I just want to know because I'm failing to find an answer. Is anyone actively trying to unlock the U.S. T-Mobile Xperia Z bootloader??
I really hope so. Even though I can upgrade in 6 months I would still wanna play with whatever custom roms are out there while I have the phone.
Probably there isbsomeone trying, just don't hold your hopes high.
Previous models with locked bootloader aren't cracked yet, like Xperia S.

booloader unlock allowed: no

i got one of this bloody devices which say bootloader unlock allowed: no
will there be a solution for this issue sometime in the future or is it simply impossible to change this state?
Is your phone tied to a carrier? If yes, then no. You can't change that.
not anymore, it was mobilkom A1 locked, but i already unlocked it (without resulting in a change of the bootloader allowed status...)
How did you manage that?
Or is it only SIM you unlocked?

clearly only sim unlocked. sim unlocking doesnt change the bootloader unlock status
yep, just SIM unlocked - so there will be NEVER a solution for this issue?
crap...
good phone, poor firmware...
T-Mobile
I just got off chat with T-Mobile and explained that I owned my xperia z which I bought from E-Bay. I explained in detail that I wanted to develope roms for it and that since I owned it I needed them to authorize me to have unlocked by Sony. All I got was some serious run around that they don't unlock bootloaders only sim carrier which I understand but since they are the one that had Sony lock it they should be able to help me get it unlocked. So to make this story end the person I was chatting with got upset because my last comment was that T-Mobile got Sony to lock it and that they couldn't help me get it unlocked. There last comment was about not supposed root the phone and before I could read the full response they disconnected. People are so rude when they are not talking to you face to face so don't bother talking to T-Mobile they don't want to hear it. Ranting finished.
who is it then who could take the lock away? the carrier or the vendor? who locks the phone in the end? does the carrier get the phones already locked from the vendor or is the carrier locking the phones before they sell them?
is there anyone who knows this?

From what I have read and heard T-Mobile has Sony lock the bootloader and they have to authorize Sony to unlock again. Maybe I'm wrong but that is what I know about it.

[Q] Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No?

Hello all,
I haven't been able to find a straight answer in previous threads, so I thought I might ask for clarity.
It seems my Xperia SP has Bootloader Unlock Allowed set to No. The FAQs seem to suggest that this might be due to a SIM lock. My provider (Fido) offers SIM unlock that is covered under warranty for $50. Before I bite the bullet and pay for it, can anyone tell me if this will actually make a difference and allow me to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks.

It doesn't work all the time. Some phones have, but only a small portion. Mine is SIM unlocked, but I can't unlock BL. But, I'm with ya, I wish someone could figure out a way...I live in the US, but have a Fido SP, and they told me that they cannot unlock the BL. According to them, they do not lock any BLs for phones. But, obviously they do, since that's the only way it could be locked...
Just like both of you, I have this "brown" device. Locked by Sony, for unknown reasons.
Brown device are vendor locked devices.
Cursed I say.

Bootloader is unlockable on most variants, some are "carrier locked" making them hard or impossible to unlock.
I wouldn't recommend it though, according to Sony's Website unlocking Z3 Bootloader results to"
Certain pre-loaded content on your device may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys. For high-end devices running recent software versions, for instance Xperia Z3, the removal of DRM security keys may affect advanced camera functionality. For example, noise reduction algorithms might be removed, and performance when taking photos in low-light conditions might be affected. The secure user data partition may also become inaccessible, and you will not be able to get any more official software upgrades if you unlock the boot loader.

Root Oppo4 Pro?

I am interested in buying it but I never buy a phone unless I can root it. Does it have a locked bootloader? A Google search just brings up those fake rooting websites.
