Do you plan to buy the best cordless drill? The best cordless drill reviews can give you many solutions, but each of them is good and best for a specific purpose. Before starting, you have to know what you need.
A good cordless drill can help you install fixtures, assemble furniture, even build a deck, and remodel your kitchen. However, a bad-quality machine just makes a contribution to creating a mess. So, do you want to complete your projects correctly or clean a huge mess caused by a bad cordless drill? If your choice is the first one, you need to know how to select a good-quality model at a reasonable price.
But what is the best drill?
Please check the considerations below:
Chuck size
When it comes to the cordless drills, you have 2 options of chuck size: ½-inch or a ⅜-inch chucks. The chuck size tells you 2 vital information about a drill:
First of all, it offers an upper limit for the bits' shank size that your drill can accommodate. The larger the bits are, the wider the shanks are. Thus, a small chuck can't fix a heavy-duty paddle bit, which you use for mixing grout.
Next, the chuck size shows the power and capability of a cordless drill. This means that the bigger chucks can provide more power.

Charger and charge indicator
If you want to maintain your Li-ion batteries at the peak performance, you have to charge and use them under precise conditions. However, this is a challenging task for busy people because they usually forget to unplug. The current advanced technology can solve this problem. Specifically, the newest generation of batteries and chargers are designed to stop overcharging batteries. This way helps you last the batteries' lifespan longer.
Some chargers come with an indicator light to display how close the battery is fully charged; even some manufacturers add the indicator lights on the battery.
Lithium-ion batteries
When it comes to the Li-on batteries for the cordless power tool, you need to understand these two vital specs as follows:
Voltage correlates to power roughly. For example, an 18-volt cordless drill is more powerful than a 12-volt machine from the same brand. On the contrary, a 14.4-volt cordless drill might be less powerful than a 12-volt model from another brand. Meanwhile, the amp-hours feature shows you how much fuel the batteries contain, translating to run time. Please take a look at my example:
A 4.0-amp-hour battery can run twice time compared to a 2.0-amp-hour battery, and its weight is also twice.
Some batteries require you 25 minutes for charging, so it's better to invest in 2 small ones.
Brushless motor
I strongly recommend you choose the best cordless power drill with the brushless motor because it brings the following benefits:
Reduces friction
Sense resistance from the material
Continually adjust the amount of power it draws from the battery.
Thus, you will have a long run time, long lifespan, and more power.
Do you know that the top 6 choices of the heavy-duty and top rated cordless drill have brushless motors in the CR’s cordless drill tests?
Weight and balance
Recently, the best cordless drill is more lightweight and compact than the traditional models in the past. Therefore, you can easily find out effective five-pound machines on the market. Besides, the balance also plays a vital role in determining comfort. So, you can test the cordless drill's balance by gripping the handle in your dominant hand firmly; after that, lift it toward the wall as you drive a screw. Remember to point the drill chuck straight at the wall without tilting up and down.
Other helpful extra features
Other useful features of the best cordless tools include a single Phillip bit, a built-in LED work light, hard-sided cases, and belt clips.
For instance, the Milwaukee charger can charge both 12- and 18-volt batteries at the same time.
Types of cordless drills
There are three types of cordless drills, depending on your needs.
Heavy-duty drills
The heavy-duty drills have 18 - to 24 - volt batteries, powerful enough to drive big fasteners and boreholes through a thick board. This type of cordless drill has ½-inch chucks that suit most drill bit sizes.
This is the most expensive and heaviest cordless drill, so it has the strongest capacity for drilling into hard things like concrete block and brick.
General-use drills
This ⅜-inch chuck machine can satisfy most people's basic and general requirements. In spite of being powered by a 12-volt battery, it is powerful enough to bore holes in wood effortlessly. Even only one charge can drive a pouch full of screws.
Light-duty drills
This is the most suitable choice for small jobs around your house. Here are some examples: drilling into the drywall, changing a light fixture, and assembling flat-packed furniture. Although the battery range varies from 12 volts to 20 volts, the small motor can't spin with the same power as the other 2 types. The fixed, ¼-inch socket is designed for ¼-inch hex bits only, so the light-duty drills limit the use.
Budget
The cordless drill price range varies. You can easily buy a cheap model from $40 to more than $300. Normally, the combination drills are more expensive than the drill-drivers because they come with more features. However, if you want, you can still find out some good-performed drill-drivers at a reasonable price.
The majority of cordless drills are sold in three methods, so be sure you get what you want.
The collection is a part of a series of other cordless tools in a kit.
Bare includes the drill without battery and charger (you can buy these parts separately).
Standalone has a charger and a battery.

What is the best cordless drill?
The best cordless drill should meet your needs and suits your budget. If you use a light-duty cordless drill for a heavy-duty project, it can cause a mess, even make your machine broken. If you have a lot of money, it’s best to invest in a product with a few extra features and a brushless motor. Now, you can read a cordless drill review to pick up the most suitable model.
You can get them out of sight completely and more with the Good Lock family of apps from the Galaxy Store.
There are hundreds of free themed and icon packs too. There's One Handed Operation + to trick it out with dozens of gesture controlled inputs. The bottom buttons are also a Good Lock app. The Energy Circle gives custom color coded battery info. Four switches for apps are hidden in Digi Clock's four quadrants for quick access.
It ain't no Apple...

I'm on the same boat... OneUI is really customizable but one thing that you can't change are the status bar and quick settings icons, you can change the colors, layout and other stuff but not the design of the icons.
BTW, I recommend trying GoodLock which is an app with a lot of modules to enhance the customization of oneui, and if goodlock is not available in your country just use FineLock (a goodlock port available for everyone)

It's a beautiful thing not to see a thing.
The only icons I couldn't remove are the page indicators. So I rotate them by adding an extra page or deleting said page occasionally.
Worse they are blinding white.
Nova can do it but it eats battery and isn't as fast or stable as the native One UI. Oh well...

You're probably not going to like this thread.
SAR levels... phone radiation, that kind of thing.
This isn't something I worry about that much but I've noticed some things since upgrading my phone over the years. Also, I've been in some areas with lots of radio waves and then in areas where there are very few radio waves and I have to say
If you think you don't believe in radio as pollution try standing in the middle of the rainforest where there is no power, no phone signal and you'll feel a sense of peace than cannot be compared to in an isolation tank in a city.
When you do this contrast a number of times I come back to the city and there's this sense of buzzing. Bear in mind this is from the ocean to a high rise apartment. I'm 100% sure I'm not imagining it, though I always accept the placebo effect where I could be imagining it, I've seen it so many times now and so clearly I'm adamant the human body's electrical nervous system can be effected by a lot/strong magnetic fields.
Basically I've noticed in years gone by that newer phones seem to feel like they're emitting more power than they did before when idle, but emitting less power when in use.
The reason I think this is because it used to take 20mins on the phone before getting a headache with a Phillips Savvy but that now takes now that takes 35-1hr on a Android gen of device.
However, if I use a modern phone and it's right in the centre of my chest I swear I can feel it. I wonder if there's been any double-blind tests on this. The thing is, I have WiFi on browsing like this and also 3G is at 2 bars but this feeling continues a little in 3G and a very tiny amount in airplane mode. This makes me think there's a magnet in there even during airplane mode. So, is the magnetometer always engaged like it seems to feel? Can we turn that off when not in use to save battery or is that proximity sensor always on?
As I say, I only don't like using the phone with it near my heart, I don't sense any problem anywhere else. Then again, more electrical signals come from the heart to the brain then the other way round so it could be a sensitive area.
Regards bluetooth. I checked out bluetooth headsets because they say the sweep spectrum should reduce area heating and so a SAR rating wouldn't even be possible. But that wasn't what it felt like. I still get headaches with bluetooth headsets, it's just greatly reduced. I figured it's pointless if it's not really working.
After a lot of research I found tube headphones and I use these just for longer calls.
The next thing I'm thinking is to optimise how the phone uses radio and sensors. This should be automated. I'd like to know how to turn off wifi when a connection drops rather than doing it by location in tasker for example. The same sort of thing should be done with GSM & 3G switching so what isn't needed is turned off. All of this meshes nicely with battery life - the 2 are synonymous. Why not enable call forwarding, carry a 2nd phone for GSM and only go out of offline mode for when you need to do something?
However, if my intuition is correct (this is one of the reasons I'm posting this thread), then SAR is just one of 3 radio signals coming out of the phone excluding electricity itself (EMF source).
So,
- so you get headaches during long phone call in the vicinity of the phone?
- do you find it easier to think clearly when on a wired connection compared to WiFi?
- have you thought about this much?
WiFi has been found to effect sperm mobility for definite but other than than it's all pretty unproven. WiFi seems to be lower power but somehow worse than GSM. Not sure about 3G.
However, phones are getting more and more powerful. 3G uses more battery than GSM and WiFi is an additional signal. Then we got 4G WiMax and all the rest on the way. Plus as I mentioned the seemingly minor development of the magnetometer. Is there any limit?
I never used to care that much until I experienced an electrically quiet place and then had to return to the drudgery of the city.
I still feel it's a subtle thing, but the effect for me can actually be very clear now, something that wasn't so for me in the days of GSM only, back then I didn't believe in all this at all.
Another thing I find is that typing on a computer without WiFi is somehow easier to think in a linear way without getting thoughts interrupted. I know, I know, this is a bit much now.
There is less energy coming off of your cell phone's radio transmitter than there is coming off of your computer screen that you interpret as visible light.. but the difference is that light bounces off mostly and if it doesn't it's burning your skin.
So, there's a load of info for you. Also some fixes too. Hopefully these things aren't a problem for you but also I hope to find people to discuss it with.
One thing I never understood was when training in the Air Corp we were taught to keep distance from UHF radios 25 years ago but then in the 90's and 00's phone radiation was not taken seriously at all and we still get people joking about it like it's taboo.
All this is very inconvenient for a tech addict. Obviously I've gone out on a limb with this thread. Be kind

"Radio waves are not ionizing, and thus do not carry enough energy to pose any danger whatsoever"
^ I agree there is no immediate effect, but I disagree that a electromagnetic field from a mobile phone does not interfere with an electromagnetic field from the human nervous system

Well, if you're "scared" of high SAR values, i would recommend you to get the Note. It's extremely low at 0.16 W/kg, and it looks like it's the lowest of all cell phones today. I personally don't care about SAR, but i can't complain if it scores well.
- Galaxy Note = 0.16 W/kg
- Samsung Galaxy S = 0.24 W/kg
- Samsung Galaxy S II = 0.33 W/kg
- Samsung Nexus S = 0.50 W/kg
- iPhone 3GS = 0.79 W/kg
- iPhone = 0.97 W/kg
- ZTE Blade - 1,35 W/kg
- iPhone 3G = 1.38 W/kg
- Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro = 1,61 W/kg (!)

Ah but one of the points I'm making is that the SAR is only for some of the function on the phone. I think it only covers 2G or 3G during a call. Afaik it's not covering WiFi, WiMax, sensors and also EMF which shielding is there to shield against you see. I guess what's needed is more info on SAR because while I know it's basic I wonder how basic it is. Holding a EMF meter next to a phone would be interesting too. In fact I have another android now so when I got this i9000 fixed I'll hold
Another point I am making is that according to the SAR values my i9000 should be better than my old Phillips Savvy but what I'm saying is that this is not what it feels like.
My guess for why this might be could be because a SAR rating only measures local tissue heating as if the amount of radiation is the only factor. What I'm saying is that it's not simply the peak power output that's important but also what is being transmitted.
I believe WiFi is lower power but it's closer to the frequency at which the human nervous system works.
Thanks for those SAR values, that's interesting. I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference between those values and to be honest I'm not that bothered. It's more of an interesting thing to talk about for me. The iphone looks interesting though, it would be nice to actually use one and see if it actually makes a difference in everyday use.
One thing to clarify is that while I'm totally sure that I can feel radiowaves I'm not too sure that it makes much of a difference to health, especially seeing as flying is a massive dose of radiation and so on.
More more thing to add, the signal effect drops off almost exponentially so if you hold it just 1cm from your ear you've made a reduction. I also prefer to keep it away from the centreline of the body, away from the spine.
That said, I wonder if SAR ratings are a cynical way to sell more phones, no?

Wales? East Anglia?
Arabian desert? Never noticed any difference.
Mobile operators in the UK have run their own tests where they've told people that a mast is active (and received assurances that those people can feel the EMF resulting in headaches/palpitations) when the masts have actually been off.
In the 70s and 80s it was electricity pylons being blamed for cancer, now people have grown up not thinking twice about them hypochondriacs have latched onto mobile masts, wifi (remember those "leave a chicken breast on your router and it'll cook" stories?), and now they're starting to blame wind farms.
Honestly, your perception is likely heavily weighted by the fact that in cities, etc you know all those devices are surrounding you. Most of what you are feeling is psychosomatic all things considered. Whatever the case, the only way to know will be long-term, properly-executed studies where perception biases can be overridden.

Funny fact; the battery sticker is on the opposite side of the battery. So when you put it on the phone, you get the back side xD
My Review
This battery's a winner. Lasts a little more than stock and holds charge like a champ. Something I just noticed though, unlike stock, it gives you the 100% performance. Meaning, when it's discharged it will literally be completely discharged. Your phone won't even boot. Takes longer to charge (logically) and a little longer to discharge.
I won't bother posting screen shots or anything because everyone's battery varies. Everyone uses their phone in a different way so it won't be the same for anyone.
Either way, this battery's awesome. I highly recommend it.
EDIT: Here's an extra, the battery meter is completely accurate. Still no 1% drops or increments, but the drops happen when they're supposed to and give you literally the battery left.

Searching these forums is probably the worst thing anyone can do, it is absolutely packed with newbies like myself except they seem incapable of coherent thought processes and typing skills, and reading the forums in general is a headache in itself because of this, a little common courtesy with a link to a specific thread in mind wouldn't have been too much to ask, but whatever, I don't care.

Is there a more accurate battery indicator I can use as a benchmark tester anywhere? Either way it seems it gives a little bit more life, worth it for £4? Depends on how long it lasts before it starts losing the charge faster or whatever.. do Li-Ion batteries do that? Any battery experts care to comment, is this an acceptable battery life increase? It is only 1350mAh to 1500mAh so I wasn't expecting like 12 hours extra or anything.

Yeah, you're only supposed to get a little boost. It's only 150mAh more than the original. But the battery life completely depends on the usage of the phone.
What I do is just use the phone normally and keep checking the Battery Usage graph in the android settings. I don't use any other 3rd party apps.
And yeah, you're supposed to completely drain it before you charge it. Then when you do charge it, charge it to 100% nonstop.

According to this article on ArsTechnica (which as far as I know is pretty reputable) it says you shouldn't let it drop below about 20% before fully charging it again, it's a pretty interesting read, take a look:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2011/02/ask-ars-what-is-the-best-way-to-use-an-li-ion-battery/
Another page suggests that charging a Li-Ion battery should be done with the device turned off, as the device can confuse the battery.
A portable device must be turned off during charge. This allows the battery to reach the set threshold voltage unhindered, and enables terminating charge on low current. A parasitic load confuses the charger by depressing the battery voltage and preventing the current in the saturation stage to drop low. A battery may be fully charged, but the prevailing conditions prompt a continued charge. This causes undue battery stress and compromises safety.

I've also purchased a 1500 mAh battery, but it isn't the one you're reviewing here. If somebody's interested I could open a new thread.

I'd go for the 1500 mAh one. The golden one has been proved to be a hoax.
Have the same ones, awesome.

Well my friend, on the Ace, not dropping below 20% while trying to make a charge last a whole day seems almost practically impossible.
I've read that article before. Never really followed what it said and look at what happened to my battery. Dies after 40 mins with 3G on after a full (100%) charge xD
The charger appears to be designed to have a adapter to other plugs, is this the case?
I need the EU plug, for 220 V, can I buy that one and use it?
Supposedly it has stock size but with more capacity. I'm interested because I will NOT use the fatter ones. The 4x is already big for my pockets. I'm not making it fatter to boot. But I'm skeptical too. So anybody use one yet?
Mine will be here shortly, and I'll update this thread if it's really worth buying or not.
But till I have it in hand/phone, I'm still curious what everyone else's experience has been, if any.

Looks interesting, I would buy it, but they ship only to usa anyway be careful, some of these chinese (I think so) batteries self-explodes. It's a bit dangerous for your leg (I know it's not so funny when it really explodes)
This totally doesn't belong to " Optimus 4X HD Accessories
Accessories for the LG Optimus 4X HD (cases, screen protectors, batteries, etc)" category.
Hmm. I didn't consider a battery that fits like stock an accessory, and I didn't notice that batteries were listed there. I mean accessories are optional things in my mind. The battery is integral to the phone. Sorry about that.
Got it in. It does fit like stock.
Take a moment and appreciate the Chinese or B4P sense of humor as you notice the model name.

The thing with these Chinese batteries is that they are made out of cheap materials. If they don't blow up, then the materials inside the battery degrade at a much quicker rate than the OEM batteries. Then it will basically be like having the original battery inside the phone again. I had a 3000mah battery from eBay and it doesn't do anything to increase the battery life, also a piece of the bottom fell off so now it doesn't even fit in the phone properly.

Well so far it is behaving just like the stock one. Hasn't exploded on me yet. If it does degrade quickly I'll just put the old one back in. And if it explodes on my leg, I'll post pics.

They probably just got the same battery and said it was 3200mah lol
The only one that I use is the MPJ battery. It doesn't offer any more real life usage but it doesn't heat up as much as the original battery and so far its worked reliably.

Very skeptical....
For what it is worth, here is my opinion (take it or leave it lol)
3500mAh in the same form factor as the original battery? I've not noticed any massive leaps in battery technology of late, and I don't really see how there can be THAT much extra juice in a box the same size especially seeing as they are both LiOn battery packs. Given the "reliability" of Chinese imports I would imagine the quoted capacity is just what they wanted to put on the label to make that particular battery look more appealing than others on the market.
I also have concerns from a safety point of view and have also heard reports of the phone detecting that a replacement battery is not the manufacturer's original part and refusing to work with it. Does anybody have any experience of this (Perhaps as a different topic in the appropriate place if one doesn't already exist, to save this thread going off-topic)?

Indeed it does detect it and stock rom doesn't boot with a non-genuine battery, but this can be easily fixed.
So far so good. I'm not sure if it's any better than a stock cap OEM battery, but it works just as well, so it's a viable replacement one. Doesn't get hotter, or do anything the OEM one didn't do.
I played Shuttle for probably 3-4 hours total on max volume the whole time through the 3.5mm jack in my car, used WiFi, took about 15 pics, and used my phone to keep up with my PDF work schedule, so the screen was on quite a bit too.
ROM is SlimKat 8.9.
Kernel is Werewolf @ 1.5Ghz max and CFQ io - GPU is max 512Mhz
Not a bad run, I don't think.

Ah, OK. Will do.
Here's a moderate useage example. Includes downloading around 400MB via WiFi (not sure why it doesn't show WiFi, but whatever), rebooting into recovery and flashing CM 11, new Gapps, then installing various apps after setting up my Google account at first bootup. Screen on the whole time it shows. Around 40 minutes.
Then after turning everything off for a while.
I'll get a more normal day in with it, and post up the screen on time and battery level when I can.

Hi, can you share the latest SOT after normal usage? You need to go a step further and click the screen icon and show the next graph, this will show the SOT in hours; mins.
Well the top image shows the screen on time. The whole time the phone was running off the battery the screen was on.
If I think about it I'll get another one actually showing the specs for that specific part, but that won't really prove anything else for me. Just a formality.
I use the phone daily, and the cheapo battery is still holding up fine too.
Here ya go. Should be noted that I could not be called a heavy user as you can see from the specs, but the point for me is that this battery is just as good as the stock one, but it's new. It also did not start dropping off any quicker when it got to that low capacity, so it's a good solid all around battery.
I also don't use adaptive brightness, or run the screen on a bright setting ever, so that helps. And most times my phone is in airplane mode.

If your bigger concern is battery life, you should have chosen some other device with a larger battery capacity, the note series is all about the s pen, that is what makes it unique among the rest, I advice you to grab something like huawei, oppo, one plus, or something like that, there are tons and tons of lackluster devices in that area and cheaper by the way

6hrs sot? That's still very good. If you need more you can try to squeeze out more battery savings, but if you need a lot more than a different device might suit your needs better. Hard to say
Buy a battery pack, charge your phone when necessary, deal with it or buy different phone.

Well, I am not a heavy s pen user, but the fact that the s pen is there, whenever I might need it, is very, very satisfactory, by the way , my exynos 950F 128 GB, achieves 5.5 hrs SOT, and I think it is fine, I use AOD, sync on all time, gps on, entertainment mode on, brightness at 60%, many macrodroid automations, gravity screen, status bar magic, network notif icons , pie control, control center, blockada, dv beep pro, screen adjuster, led control, etc, anything you can imagine,

To answer my own question for future reference: Encryption does not work since our device doesn't support file based encryption. Only full disk encryption is supported but Android dropped support on that. Therefore the needed password screen at startup does not appear. More info at https://source.android.com/security/encryption
Btw, did anyone noticed this nice side effect, as our Z2 now is recognized as Google Pixel Phone?
Google Photos just informed me, that I have unlimited upload quota, as I'm using one of their Pixels.
"Unlimited photos and videos can be backed up on this pixel for free (original quality)".
It works to backup all my GoPro [email protected] footage using my Z2, without touching any of the Google quota, great!
Well, not sure if anyone else had already tried it.
But I just rooted my phone and magisk is now up and running

Hello fellows!
Is this ROM seriously working as it should?
A few months ago I downloaded the Android 12 AOSP ROM (I a see an AEX v9.0 version in the download page, must be it) and it basically was a mess, to put it clearly. This of course is not to blame dmd79 in any case, I am fairly grateful for what he has done ROM wise to the Zuk Z2 Pro or Z2121. Really!
But I have to ask, because things like the options in the Developer Options menu were basically not working, or at least there were many items which I just couldn't change, or they did not seem to work. There were many other problems with the Extensions menu in Settings.
Still, can't help to say that I found really annoying the way Android 12 manages notifications, as for example I use Power Toggles as quick application launcher which displays as a permanent notification in my status bar drop-down menu, and Android 12 displayed some annoying additional text ribbon above or below it for whatever stupid reason which I couldn't remove. I uninstalled that ROM version pretty quickly anyway. I also still think Oreo 8.1 AEX v5.7 is the best ROM you can use in this device anyway, but given that overall I really dislike all newer smartphones due to super disproportionate screen aspect ratios (I use landscape 99% of the time), ultra-high screen to body ratios which I simply dislike and have resulted in every manufacturer dismissing the presence of a super-practical navigation button and sensor like the one which the Zuk Z2 Pro has; aaand, well, the outright retarded HUGENESS of the majority of newer devices, I seriously think I'll keep my Zuk Z2 Pro for a few years more. I know how to replace batteries anyway, and I also know how to make them literally last for ages by limiting maximum amount of charge (65%) or voltage, esentially. Ultra-mega long life for the Zuk Z2 Pro! LoL!
Thanks a lot again master ROM creator Davide Della Maddalena! May the Light of True Source be with you, and may your life be prosperous and happy if so is your will!
Best regards and cheers everyone!
I think it's a personal discision wheather someone likes the general Android 12 behaviour or not, imho?
Which Developer options are you missing in particular? i tried some, they all worked well for me (9.1).
Regarding gestures I switched to an external App since 8.x, pretty satisfied with it's functionality:
Edge Gestures - Apps on Google Play
Just swipe the edge to do something!
play.google.com
Regarding spares battery, could you please recommend a specific battery type or any additional tools needed, e.g. from AliExpress?
Is the exchange process also suitable for beginners as well?
Cheers, Borg
To Borg666 and of course anyone interested.
I remember not being able to switch any Bluetooth options in the first version of AEX 9.x, and there were other errors or mishaps.
¿Gestures? Don't make me laugh. I NEVER use screen gestures. My device navigation exclusively relies on the Zuk Z2 Pro hardware button, with carefully assigned taps, slides and button presses in Extensions -> System -> Buttons. I am a power user, and the way I use my device is radically different from most people. Whatever is pesky, annoying or limiting like the low battery warning or the dumbass high volume limit with periodic warning is blocked, disabled or removed from my system, without any qualms and including system apps if needed. For example the pesky and annoying Play Store remains slept in my system, and I only awake it strictly when required.
I love and use AEX v5.7 because of things like the grid view task switcher (aka “recents”), which is simply the way all Android task switchers should be, but unfortunately the stock task switcher or recents has been the absolutely retarded and useless gigantic card view since Lollipop (KitKat's one was great), as far as I know. And sorry, but they can stick such task switcher where the sun doesn't shines. Period.
I have extremely long experience buying all sorts of batteries in AliExpress, and there is a lot of bull**** so beware. Concerning batteries for the Zuk Z2 Pro or any smartphone, as a rule I stick with Nohon branded units (great quality, but overall more expensive) or original ones, which can be found for affordable money taking a good look. There are also a few other good quality and affordable battery brands, though.
To buy a battery, for a good and quick find knowing the battery code helps a lot. BL263 is the battery code for the Zuk Z2 Pro or Z2121.
I bought my Z2 Pro second hand by the end of April 2018. It came in pristine condition, albeit its original user gave its battery very poor care. I guess he kept the smartphone fully charged pretty often, which is a complete mistake. Keeping li-ion batteries at high or full states of charge (elevated voltages) quickly reduces their lifespan.
This is a great article about li-ion batteries: BU-808: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries @ Battery University. A little caveat, though. It is said that high depth of discharge negatively affects the lifespan of batteries, but at least with modern quality li-ion batteries I cannot agree. The article is rather old, bear in mind, battery technology has improved. However, “Table 4: Discharge cycles and capacity as a function of charge voltage limit” is very important, and in the paragraph just above it is said “In terms of longevity, the optimal charge voltage is 3.92V/cell”. Remember that this is for the usual 4.2V li-ion batteries, so 3.92V / 4.2V = 0.93̅ or 93.3̅% of maximum charge voltage. Nowaday's smartphone batteries are all high voltage types, and so you need to adjust the optimal charge voltage limit accordingly. The Zuk Z2 Pro's BL263 is a 4.4V battery; for this reason I charge up to 4107mV (93.3̅% of 4.4V) using Advanced Charging Controller (ACCA).
By the end of April 2019, a year later after I got my Z2 Pro, I bought a Nohon BL263 replacement battery and installed it. I charge it up to 65% (now with 4107mV absolute maximum voltage and reduced maximum current thanks to ACCA; I used Battery Charge Limit at first), discharge it to as low as needed, and my battery still has good health, although I will likely soon buy a new one. Just not now because I have many pending tasks…
But since you asked for a battery replacement how-to and such, first I will say that a battery replacement for the Z2 Pro is not exactly the easiest. Don't be scared, though, it can be done. Just be careful and patient, careful, and patient… repeat as needed. Smartphones have delicate parts, and you don't want to ruin a part. If you do, you may have to wait some days or a few weeks for any damaged replacement parts, depending on where you buy them and shipping times.
I have the following value/price BL263 battery sales in my wishlist:
New 100% NEW Battery for Lenovo Zuk BL263 Z2 PRO / BL255 Z1 / BL268 Z2 Z2131 Cell Phone Battery +Gift Tools+Stickers @ Battery experts store.
100% Original new For Lenovo 3100Mah BL263 Original Battery Replacement for Lenovo ZUK Z2 PRO Z2pro Smart Mobile Phone Battery.
Just choose the cheapest one to where you live. In my case it is the first one, and both are free shipping to where I live but I don't know if and how the shipping costs vary to where you are.
The tools in the kits are very basic, and the provided screwdrivers, although useable, usually suck so you will have to be careful, or buy something better.
YouTube is of help for battery replacement videos, although the Z2 Pro has always been scarce in this respect:
Video is in spanish, but well done. Its duration is incorrectly reported (actual duration 16:21), seems like the uploader had some sort of problem. The use of a hairdrier is not strictly necessary if you go slow and with care. The first challenge is to stick the pick under the back cover, and the usual stock picks are not very sharp (more on this below).
Another video.
This is the only related video I found available back in 2019 when I replaced my battery. Low quality and in chinese, but I made my battery replacement with it.
You may want to get the following additional parts:
21 in 1 Mobile Phone Repair Tools Kit Spudger Pry Opening Tool Screwdriver Set for iPhone X 8 7 6S 6 Plus 11 Pro XS Hand Tools Affordable basic tool set with quality parts.
30Pcs Ultra Thin Slim Plastic Guitar Picks for iPhone Pry Opening Tool Mobile Phone Laptop Repair Hand Tools Kit RXJB Standard guitar picks are thick and will give you a hard time tucking them in below the back cover; these are much better.
10pcs/Lot Black Plastic Spudger Opener Opening Repair Tools Anti-Skid Pry Nylon Hand Tool Kit for Mobile Phone/Tablet PC Repair Spudgers are very handy and useful, because their flat screwdriver end is very sharp and they can also be used to tuck in below covers and open all sorts of soft material case devices without damaging them. I have a bunch of 'em.
2mm 3M Double Sided Adhesive Sticker Tape for iPhone / Samsung / HTC Mobile Phone Touch Panel Repair, Length: 50m You will need this thin double sided adhesive to re-glue the back cover after removal, as the stock adhesive will of course @#$%.
This should get you well covered. However, just in case I made a search for the back cover (I also may order one), and only found white ones (the color I don't really care, but looks like there are less replacement parts for sale at this point). Here is a best price link: For Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro Back Battery Cover Rear Door Housing Case For5.0" Lenovo ZUK Z2 PRO Battery Cover Replacement Parts New back covers should come with pre-glued adhesive, but can't really say. Ask the seller.
I ended up writing a tutorial LoL!
This information may serve for a dedicated thread. I'll see.
Cheers!
Hi Barkuti,
Thanks a lot for your extensive recommendations - a battery, tool set and some glue tape was ordered. Looking forward to get back on 100% battery capacity.
As my device isn't rooted, I was using "AccuBattery" for the past years, which does a pretty good job for nonroot Users:

Oh! I found a seller (just one!) which still sells the specific adhesive of the Z2 Pro back cover here. It's not cheap (I see it for $3.91 + $1.88 S&H), but I refuse to pay too much for the stuff I buy and I wouldn't buy such a thing. The adhesive requires careful placement, so better don't miss. And a full, new back cover (which comes with integrated adhesive) costs just a few bucks more ($9.04), so I would personally not buy the specific adhesives. With the double adhesive tape you can cut a few pieces of it with the right lenght, and place it in the desired spots of the back cover until they all are properly covered. If you miss a placement, you quickly remove the adhesive with a spudger and start over. Takes some more work time, but it'̀s a lot cheaper in raw material cost. And on top of this you will also keep a nice roll of thin double sided tape for other purposes.
Tad off-topic, but for example look at this seller advertisement. I see it asks $10.81 + $4.47 for 2 pieces of the smaller Z2 back cover adhesive. Even if it is 2 pcs, I call that a rip-off! Can buy a Lenovo logo Z2 new back cover for $5.38! I've personally bought these back covers, and they look pretty good!
P.S.: I do not mean to be judgmental, but if at this point you don't think I deserve at least a “like!”, I'll have to say shame on you.
