Hi guys,
I am a dissatisfied user of Redmi note 10 pro max.
Currently using the global Miui 12.0.10 version.
Battery life is bad. I can see some kernel wakelocks not allowing the phone to go into deep sleep mode. I lose at least 15-20% overnight everyday.
Stats
Radio interface - 36790 wakelocks
NETLINK-hvdcp_opti 1486906 wakelocks
NETLINK-batterysecret 1487448 wakelocks
I don't have a screenshot for the issue at the moment. I can provide a adb bug report if needed. How to remove personal identify Info from the file?
Does anyone else face this issue? Please provide me a solution for this issue.
- unfortunately you are not alone, those NETLINK wakelocks are on my phone too, and i have only Redmi note 10 Pro, so thanks for your report - this seems as more and more like a software issue to me, either firmware, or something like that, im going to download and test different versions of firmware and see if that helps in any way...
- for anonymous logs try to use Syslog from Play store
- as for solutions to this problems, they are to be found yet, I found exactly one ROM where devs claims he fixed deep sleep problems (Spark-vBlaze-sweet...), I managed to install it one time for test (but when I tested it my phone didn't have deep sleep problems yet, so I uninstalled it to try another ROM) ... what's interesting, I cant install Spark anymore now that I have deep sleep problems on my device, no matter what - for unknown reasons (I can install it, it just get stuck on ROM logo forever)

There was period of a week after updating to 12.0.10, I got great battery life. 2 days with SOT of approx 6hrs. Then the problem started again. This is so annoying. I don't wanna install custom roms cause I have all my company stuff in here. Custom rom will probably screw it. Hope devs find a soln to this bug. Do you need anonymous logs for analysis.?
- so, this "deep sleep" issue is indeed related somehow to fw flashed on your device (at least partially), after I flashed the oldest fw for "sweet" that I was able to found, my device started to deep sleep again ... its not perfect ... only about 50%, but it's better than zero, or near zero I was getting before ...
- now i going to try to flash Spark ROM again, to see if it was fw that freeze it ...
Is there any way to reach MI devs with this bug? Will Mi will ever solve this issue?

- maybe in MIUI, not for custom ROM user, deep sleep issues, and it's not stable - it's stable beta - I honestly don't know how Chinese comrades come out with this - it's either stable OR beta, stable beta makes no sense to me ...
- I'm still investigating, but this deep sleep issues are probably result of "bad" combination of certain gapps + newest fw from 12.5.1
- I managed to "solve" deep sleep issue by flashing very old build of bitgapps (arm 64 R19) + MIUI 12.0.14 base + fw from 12.5.1 (it works in the latest vanilla Nusantara project, not sure if this will work in other ROMs)

I will use it once it is available for me. In the meanwhile, can I know if the wake lock issue has been solved in 12.5? Also how much SOT and battery life are you getting? If you don't mind please post some SOT and wake lock stats here. Thanks in advance.

Normal about 6h sot , i did noticed this battery drain on 12.0.16 before that it was fine , on 12.5 is fine also i think but needs more testing i just installed it , only bug i found is some permanent notifications from some apps like di.fm i cant remove it
UPDATE: The issue is now fixed. I have been observing it for 5 days before posting here. How it was fixed? No idea. Now I am comfortably getting 7hrs+ SOT lasting 1 and half days as per my usage. Overnight charge drop has reduced 3-4%.

Did you update to the new firmware or anything?
Really strange fixing by itself
mine when I go to sleep I turn off the Wi-di and the 4g and even so it's using 10 - 15% of the battery. I can't solve.
did you manage to solve?

I am experiencing massive battery drain in all MM roms. I get between 10-25% drain overnight, even in airplane mode. Does anyone have similar issue?
@krcovsky at least mention the ROM name.
For me in all CM based roms, there is android systemui wakelock, in Ivan AOSP there is Miscellaneous drain....
@nirjharmistry i did mention that i am experiencing huge battery drain in ALL MM roms available for cancro (Mi3) The biggest "drainers" are system ui and kernel (OS).
Are you having similar issue?

Nop!! Altough I'm on Beanstalk ROM. Try different Gapps Package, Like BanKs Gapps. Intsall Better battery stats or Wakelock detector for better data. Last of all Clean flash.
I tried Mokee 6.0.1, week ago with open gapps Pico, but i had that battery drain over night and my Deep sleep was 40 - 50 %, on 300 mhz 50 - 60 %. Then i moved to CM 13 with open gapps PIco and exactly the same picture was again. Yesterday after reading ''nirjharmistry'' comment for trying another gapps package i decided to try again with Mokee Rom. I installed the Rom with these Gapps "Mini Marshmallow Gapps" (91 mb) and wnen i left the phone for 30 min., CPU Spy said that the phone was on 300 mhz - 80 %. Finally i installed Mokee Rom with BaNkS_Dynamic_GApps_6.x.x_12-22-15, and now for 10+ hours my Deep sleep is 90+ % and have no battery drain. I can't say for sure but it looks like Gapps problem...
Hm... gonna try with Banks gapps
I use open gapps pico on candy 6 without any deep sleep issue. I think your gapps theory is just a placebo. I would look into better battery stats and wakelock detectors to see whats frequently waking your system. It could be a gapp included in the gapps package and adjusting its permissions could fix the issue or it just might be another program you just haven't used yet and granted permission to. I noticed calendar likes to wake the device a lot when it has all of its permissions and Google auto syncs also like to wake it frequently. I have my syncs on manual and most app permissions off unless I absolutely need them on a day to day bases.

Hi guys! It is not gapps problem i still have battery drain over deep sleep 5-6 % for about 10 hours. Wakelock detector shows that systemui is waking the device: ''keyguard'' - service.
Yes, gapps are not to blame. There definitely is something causing overnight drain, even in airplane mode. Any thoughts on this - see screenshots. These are stats for airplane mode at night for roughly 8 hours. Does someone know what ipc0000002a_sensors.qcom and event1-1802 are:silly:
I forgot to mention that i managed to lower the drain by disabling doze mode for nearly all aps. Usually the drain was more than 10%. I'll try turning doze mode for all apps to see if there is any difference...
@krcovsky @atomix18 Have guys clean flashed the ROM? If not, then clean flash the ROM, but do not restore any previous app data. Install them one by one and observe to find the culprit. Another request pull a logcat and send it to your respective ROM developer.
I had clean flashed the ROM's: CM13 official, Mokee mm, Aicp. In all of these Roms had the same issue systemui drain.
Exactly the same thing - clean flash, install apps one by one (no restore), every single MM ROM. The drain during the day is not a problem, it's on par with lollipop. It's during the night with airplane mode on that is the issue. On LP i would not have any battery drain during the night.
I don't think a log would help in this case...
BTW, google Sensors.qcom
Anyone had fixed this battery drain, damn in all cm roms, i didn't experienced such thing in lolipop cm roms...
please try using different cpu governors. i was in better deeep sleeping time (belive it or not)
I have the same problem in CM12.1

I don't get the drain you describe, I have used mainly the Beanstalk MM nightly ROMs (also they Cyanogen 13.0 unofficial, and AICP) with Banks Gapps.
My phone is running 2 imap accounts, an Exchange email app, Whatsapp... I haven't changed anything with regards to Doze. I tend to charge the phone overnight, but a couple of times I haven't, and have lost 2-3% max over 8 hours.
I think it would be best if you took this question to the thread of your preferred ROM. Then you can drop logcats etc and hopefully the dev can find something.
First though, a good test - difficult to do - is to just install ROM & Gapps and use the phone for a couple of days. No user apps. That way it's guaranteed nothing else is impacting your findings.
Unfortunately i don't think that posting about this in a specific rom development topic will do any good since i came to conclusion that this "bug" is some sort of a lottery. Some people have it, some don't. On LP i did not experience anything similar to this, and my battery backup was 3-4 times longer than on MM. Anyway, i'm trying something out, will see if it does anything about the drain :fingers-crossed:
Update:
I flashed the rom without installing any of the apps and i got great results. Deep sleep was almost 100% during the night, just a couple of wakes. It seems that there was indeed an app that was causing the drain. Now i just gotta find it and destroy it with extreme prejudice
Final update:
It was a navigation app that was causing the drain by waking the sensors during the night in airplane mode... this was not happening on LP. Well, the app is gone, tried another app, same thing. I guess i will not be installing these kind of apps anymore
I don't have any navigation apps installed but today i have 25 % awake from qlcom sensors again in AICP.
But you could try this nevertheless. Flash the rom without installing any of the apps and start from there. Observe the battery drain when no apps are installed and gradually install a couple of them at a time.
Suspected apps should be the ones that are using sensors (navigation, compass etc.)
So seeing that development is dead on this phone, I'm stuck with the latest stock ROM as the other custom ROMs cameras won't work or have issues.
Are others having bad battery life on v7.4.2 or is it just me? I've tried location service disable apps/scripts and battery saving apps but it doesn't seem to help.
I would like to roll back to the older versions of the stock ROM but then it has security issues (thanks BLU /s). Is sitting on the latest stock ROM the only option out there that functions well (apart from battery life)?

well you dont have to stay on 7.4.2, you can go to v17 and compare battery levels.
Is your phone rooted and running Xposed Framework? I've tried both 7.4.2 and v17. In both cases, battery life was fine, until I installed Xposed. After that, I also started seeing close to 50% battery drops overnight.

I just installed v17, its a little better than before. Yeah I've tried 7.4.2 with and without xposed and I still had the same amount of drain.
I have the same issue
I'm having the same issue with my R1 HD, I think the battery usage is normal during the day but the problem is it drains overnight, I disable the wifi and data and turn off sound notifications when I go to bed. When I wake up I find the battery drained 15 - 20% over those hours.
I had the blu life pure mini before this phone and barely drained 1% overnight with those same settings, I also have the smart energy saving on but I don't think is doing anything.
I just got this phone 3 days ago and I really like it (it's much better than the life pure mini) except for the battery life issue. The phone came with v7.4.2 out of the box and yesterday I just got an official update to v8.4 but I haven't installed it yet 'cause I read somewhere that some people started having issues with this phone after receiving an update, although I don't think is this one because this is from may 5th 2017 and I think that thread was from last year.
Have you found a way to solve this and have you tried this update already? Is it safe? I don't know what to do because the phone is under warranty for 10 days (I bought it from a reseller) so if I can't find a way to fix this I could maybe consider return it and get my money back, although I prefer not to because where I live its pretty hard to get your hands on a phone like this at a decent price.
I wanted to upload an image of the battery stats but I just recharged it so maybe later, here is one of the update available.

I'm not an advanced user so I'm not looking to root my phone unless it fixes the battery issue. Unless this behavior is normal with this phone, draining battery while idle, because even with this the battery still last through the day. Its just that it didn't happen with my previous phone so I think there is a problem.
I wanted to know if there is a chance installing the official update will fix this and if anybody has had issues with the v8.4 because otherwise my phone is working fine.
I'm very new to this so any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I think I'm onto something with the issue, last night I tried again before I went to bed, turned of wifi, data, silenced notifications and turned on battery saver. Woke up 8 hours later to see the battery had drained 16%.
So I went over every detail of the battery stats and found that my phone is always awake, day and night. Something is preventing the phone from going into sleep mode and I don't know what it is. Only apps I've installed are twitter, instagram, whatsapp, UC browser, TY kids, duolingo, panda mobile security and an online shopping app. All the amazon apps are disabled and I turned off the automatic updates from the playstore.
Googling about this I found some people who had the same issue had fixed it by cleaning the cache an rebooting, I did this (with all apps cache) but it didn't work.
I'm going to install a battery monitor app to see if I can find something else, this thing is driving me crazy. Here are some screen captures of this morning.
There is a lot of battery drain due to android os in my battery stats. Os it normal or I can control it?

First of all, Have you tried using a wake lock detector to find the issue? What ROM are you using including the kernel? Give the full list of all apps installed by you. Are you using root? SuperSu or Magisk? Did you flash a stable version on top of a beta version or vice versa? All i can tell you from the screenshot is that facebook needs to be deleted. No matter how much you enjoy that app, Just login via Chrome and save almost all your 4% you spent on facebook.

Anyone with some input ?
Sorry I literally forgot to press send, I'd recommend for you make a back up of everything from within TWRP and copy it on to a computer. I had a lot of issues with older oxygen os but after 4.1.3, I haven't had a issue for a random drain. Do a clean flash and install your apps one by one or use wake lock detector and see which app is misbehaving.
I am having the same kind of issue. I did a super-clean install of stable 4.1.5. This happens in all ROMs for me :-?
This happened on my Nexus 6P also. I think it's a Nougat problem or just the way Nougat calculates drain.
I am having the same issue here. This is on stable 4.1.5. Any ideas?
Same here unfortunately.
Maybe it's just time to perform a factory reset
Just started for me as well. Something also seems to be causing the cores to get stuck on Max frequency as well. This never happened on 4.1.3
i've been having the same issue for a couple weeks. I had re-enabled google now and noticed my battery dropped more than i would expect so I've had it disabled for some time now but even with that (which worked before), i've had a lot of consistent drain throughout the day. Battery should last 25-30 hours but it's only lasting me 20-24 due to this consistent drain. I'm thinking I may need a factory reset too, and if that doesn't work, next step is to root and disable "wake up" permissions for all these apps.

Well.... People think their phone runs on its own and no it doesn't. Android system is the android environment that manages thinks like drivers internet connectivity logging ram management and basically anything that isn't third party. Your phone's OS cant run without taking power. All your hardware power drain is placed into android system category. There are ways to decrease the consumption but its not very noticeable without xposed and turning some hardware off.

It should never top your SOT though. Now what is causing it, idk. I had this drain with 4.1.5, but not with any other builds. And I clean flashed twice. And the same set up. That's why I'm on OB8.
I have noticed this happens a lot while on mobile data. This doesn't happen on WiFi. There's something causing more wake locks when the device is on mobile data! I've tried everything then turning off location history but it doesn't seem to work
It can though easily. Especially if you use your device on and off. It doesn't always top my sot but when it does i have less than 3 hours. But then again i never let my battery drain to less than 10%before charging. Just turn things off as you dont use them. Or use IFTTT for that. Try using Better Battery Stats for a few days then check the "ALARMS" section.
Try fixing the adblocker. With the new set of hosts enabled, full blocking of ads, I am getting good SOT than before.

Fix it how? Was that posted in here?
I guarantee it has nothing to do with adblocker. I am on stock 4.1.5, no custom kernel or anything, and the android OS is eating my battery like hell. It's just stupid.
Hi!
I'm experiencing some battery draining problems for a few months.
Overnight it uses up to about 15% and during the day with about 1h30min SOT it's down like 30%. I factory reset it, debloated it, dark mode on, Naptime with aggressive doze mode on and restricted almost all apps from running in the background with no difference.
I'm running on 12.5.4 global. Sometimes cell standby uses as much as 500 mAh.
When the battery is full it says "about 52 h 34 m left" no matter if I'm using fast or slow charging. Is this normal? I'm attaching some screen shots.

At night the phone is in sleeping mode and the battery at morning is almost the same as it was at the evening, with WiFi, Bluethoot and Location switched ON - I haven't really tested how much exactly percents it tekes during the night, but I think that it's not more than 2-3% for the night.

indeed sleeping mode in custom roms is magic, but if you forget to activate it.. well good luck waking up to your alarm

Below are some stats from the latest Lineage OS
3% for almost 8 hours
I didn't get any problems with the Alarm and the deep sleep mode!
Overnight drain is too high. It's 10% even after enabling scheduled power off/on feature. Phone remains powered off for 4-5hrs at night still 10% of overnight drain is too much
2% here for more than 8 hours
That's aosp bruh. I should switch soon.
Hi, everyone. I bought a Redmi Note 11 Global a few days back and while setting it up, I was amazed at the battery life. It was at 56% when I opened it up, and throughout the entire setup process and after around 5 or 6 hours of screen on time, I was still at around 15% battery.
After that, I decided to update the phone, and immediately after, I realized the battery life I was getting wasn't as good as it was a literal day ago. From 90 to 50, I would only get around 3 hours of SOT and from 50 to 10 around 3-4 hours. My use case was even lighter than in the first day, yet my battery life had dropped significantly.
I went into phone settings and for some reason, Cell Standby, Phone Services and Phone idle were in the top of the list, Cell Standby taking up the most of the battery. I have no idea why this is happening. I've tried "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and Bluetooth", clearing Play Store and Play Services data, turning off "Always keep mobile data on" and the battery life is still pretty bad.
This is my first time on MIUI, and I am absolutely disappointed. Despite the whole battery issues, MIUI has a lot of other accessibility issues that stock Android doesn't have.
Does anyone else have the same problems on their Redmi Note 11? Has anyone had a good fix for it? Please help.
Mine working perfectly, maybe your device's hardware error?

I thought about that, but this is only happening after the latest update. It was fine when I bought the phone.
Disable make calls with Wi-Fi option at settings.

I'll try this. Can you let me know your SOT on a full charge down to low charge?

I will try that as a last resort. If you don't mind me asking, what SOT do you get on your device?

I never checked SOT time but Cell Standby uses about %1 battery. It was high before disabling make calls with Wi-Fi. I'm using Xiaomi 11T.

I can't find that option. Can you name the exact name as it is in settings? Btw I use the Google Phone app and not the Xiaomi phone, although Phone Services still uses a lot.
Edit: I just realized my phone doesn't have the Make calls with Wi-fi option, and not VOLTE either. My country doesn't really use it.

No like what's the Screen time you get on a full charge.
I've tried resetting the phone now too. It didn't work. Cell standby is still at the top of the list by a large margin. Do you think this is a hardware issue or a miui issue? I can't really say since no one here is telling me their SOT so I can't say if this is a me problem.

Actually I can't tell you exactly but currently I'm using since last 4 hours and 40 minutes with WiFi on 2 hours on Netflix and remaining in social media, I've to charge it once in 24 hours simple , the adorable features in this smartphone is it's battery life and amoled display if you're facing problems in these main features you should replace it

8+ hours from 100-0 or some other percentage? Also, I have a friend who also has a Redmi Note 11 Global, and I saw his Battery tab and Cell Standby was at the top of his list too. I believe this is an issue with the update but I can't tell.

Hello I'm not sure if it will help, i'm on Mi Mix 4 and i had this issue for like 2 weeks now, finally i did something which solved the issue for me, i'm on MIUI 13.0.6 EU rom.
steps i did
1. Go to Google Play store
2. Search for an app called "carrier services"
3. Uninstalled it, so it reset to factory default.
5. In less than 6 hours cell standby completely disappeared from the battery graph.
I used to have more than 70% eaten by cell standby
this is the app, below is 10 minutes after i uninstalled it, battery drain from cell standby went down from 70 to 49

Tried this - did not work for me. RN10 Pro EEA MIUI 13.0.12
I have this issue on Mi 10T Pro MIUI 13. Battery drains overnight but if I switch on airplane mode even with wifi, Bluetooth and location on (VoWifi enabled too), there is no such drain. Apparently factory reset didn't help unless I've already did something wrong again.
I have a RN10 Pro and a RN9 Pro EEA
Since new, both phones have annoyingly had "cell standby" at the top of the list of battery usage.
The RN9 Pro recently updated to MIUI 13.0.1 I did a factory reset as a matter of course because of the change from Android 11 to 12.
I have no idea what Xiaomi did with this update, but I am delighted that "cell standby" is now at the bottom of the list of battery usage and "phone idle" is at the top - which is where it should be for my usage of the phone.
Update: There is one change I noticed that the MIUI update has made in the version that is fixed. They changed my APN access points to something completely different for my SIM (Vodafone UK). Unfortunatley the default APN's are locked on the RN10P so I cannot change them to test. Adding a new APN does not fix the problem.
