i am a business man running productions company, usually i am using Huawei terminals and i like them very much, but after the boycott of Huawei with big regrets, i was looking for a replacement good phone because i run part of my business on it, finally i wad following publicities and you-tubers about phone and technology, and i have chosen the Mi 11 ultra, i bought it from China as at that moment it was not exposed for sell in Europe, and first surpise when i have received the phone, it was all in Chineze, by foolwing your forum i have succeeded to unlock the bootloader and i have flashed the Chines version to a Global one 12.5.5.0, and i was happy with the new phone and getting used to it after the Huawei phone, then few days ago the phone noticed me that there is a new update (version Miui 12.5.7.0), i have downloaded the new version and when trying to apply the update to the phone ,after that the phone is freezing the last step when must be rebooted to recovery mode and then to select the update pack, till now i am in this step!
that all!
Welcome to XDA
Try posting on the specific forum for that phone.
When I have an Android that's running fast, stable and is fulfilling its mission I don't update.
Updates will wreck an Android more times than not while malware seldom does.
the problem initially was in the backup, so after flashing the Chinese version to global version, then the backup option was not working, so when the message came that there is a new update i thought maybe the backup problem has been solved!

I bought new Mi5 and I still didn't put Sim card inside wanted to configure and see what phone can but when I entered configuration menu after 1st power up I manage to choose language and few things more and phone rebooted, then I manage to almost finish configuration then freeze and reboot again, after few tries I finished configuration but freeze (usually only last few seconds) and reboot happen again. Then phone offered me update software which I manage to reach from 3rd time and successfully update only with Mi PC Suite, not from phone update app. Interesting, all flashing proces with Mi PC Suite always is going as should be, without reboots etc... Crap happen only in OS. Now I got latest China stable (I bought phone in China) which has same problem with rebooting. Then I wiped all I can, factory reset etc...nothing helps.
-Still didn't unlock phone in case I need to return it.
-Didn't try global Rom because I can't flash it
I was reading forums and found a lot people have same problem but didn't find what they done on the end to make phone work.
If anyone have some solution, let me know. Returning phone from EU to China is not 1 day Or does someone know if someone in EU can service this if needed?
thanks in advance
huh,
I solved (for now) problem with installing this, developer version of miui 8 from here
http://xiaomiadvices.com/download-miui-8-6616-china-developer-rom-recoveryfastboot/
Downloaded it and installed with English version of MI PC Suite. Developer rom is Chinese (as my default software version in phone) over latest Chinese 7.3.10 miui
With original software phone was restarting, freezing randomly every 30 seconds or 1 minute of usage.
Now need to wait to unlock phone so I can use Global version of rom to get play store etc...

Which phone? (China, Intl, Global, etc)
Are you Bootloader Unlocked?
What is your goal for your phone, do you plan on unlocking, flashing, etc?

it's a global version .
i don't know if the bootloader unlocked or not
i don't plan to flash custom roms or root right now
10.0.3.0 is the latest update you can get via OTA on Mi8 Global edition devices with Global Stable Roms. But beware that Ok Google is not working at all no matter what, headphone volumes are low and face id is not available unless you change your region to countries like as far as I know Georgia, China, India, Kong, screen colors are a bit washed out compared to other amoled phones, camera has noise especially for photos taken in low light conditions.
Some people on 10.0.2.0( i never had this version since it skipped directly to 10.0.3.0 for me) claimed that they got an OTA for 10.1.1.0 (which you can manually flash and update to without unlocking the bootlader bycsimply downloading and renaming the file to 'update.zip' via the built in miui updater on your phone) but reports on Miui forums claim that it has the same problems of 10.0.3.0 if not worse which most people commented that they would try to go back since they wished never did it.)
I personally am waiting for an OTA update till new year. If a fix is not released by than I am selling this chinese bazaar phone which I am not happy coz of the above explaoned issues since the day I bought this, i never got what i paid for.
Long story short the supposedly Xiaomi flagship phone Mi8 is a total disaster and good example to add on for those who always avoided chinese brands for such reasons.
Miui=Love
Xiaomi= A disastrous huawei follow-up
Support by Xiaomi= What support?
Hi. Just download this: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.1.1.0.PEAMIFI/miui_MI8Global_V10.1.1.0.PEAMIFI_60a2522efd_9.0.zip
Put it on your phone memory. Rename it to "update.zip". Then go to "Configuration/about/system update/ and there touch the three dots upper right and touch "Select update package", then search for the update.zip and there you go.
It will analyze the package and reboot.
Changes? nothing at all, only it feels a little more responsive (maybe is only my perceptions) and you loose the option to hide the notch. For example, in YouTube when you zoom in the video in Android 8 the video adjust but without getting close to the notch, so the image was not afected, but now the video shows the notch.
Hi all,
How are you?
I have spent soooo many hours trying to upgrade my new old stock Huawei P9 EVA-L09, its driving me absolutely crazy. When I bought it, like an idiot, I didn't check the Android Version, which I discovered was 6. So, I did oodles of research, gathered the right tools, downloaded the suggested updates and started.
I successfully upgraded to the latest android 6 (L09C432B210), but I tried many versions of Android 7, but to no avail. I eventually found a version of Android 7 called 'L09C432B322' that worked, but when I checked it says 'NRD90M test-keys', which is EMUI 5, Android 7; it is a fully functioning version of Android 7 but it is a pre-release version I believe, and neither the 'Files' option nor the 'Update' option are available on it, which is a pain. I have now tried a total of 23 different update versions, but no success, and with exactly the same issue with the update process, saying that it cannot update using that version (not precise wording!).
A couple of days ago I accidentally ended up on the phone update screen, the one with the big circle, while I was trying to get in to TWRP (fat fingers...). It sat there for an age doing absolutely nothing (aside from the circle spinning), not even failing, and I didnt even have an update file in 'dload' on my SD Card (not that I'm aware of), so I pressed the power button and shut it off. Now when I try to update, using either update.app via manual update or update.zip via HWOYA7, any update at all tbh, even old ones that I know failed but at least the update file was seen by the phone & process, it tells me the install failed and 'the update package does not exist'. I thought it may be a file extension association issue in Windows 10 (not sure how, just clutching at straws), so I reset the associations to Windows default, but that did not work. At around about the same time of the update issue starting, I couldn't say for sure when as I wasn't paying enough attention, I started using the HWOTA7 tool, which too gave the same result of 'the update package does not exist'.
Did HWOTA7 cause this? Did I cause this inadvertantly? Has a broken update.app caused this? I simply do not know and am hoping one of you fine people may be able to help me. Is the process looking in a different place to where either HWOTA7 puts the file (not changed from default) or where I put the file (SD Card 'dload')?
The reason I'm trying to update is because Android 7 is no longer supported by Google and one by one apps are disappearing from Google Play, so I'd like to update to Android 8 (Oreo). There lays another fine issue as I cannot find a version of it anywhere, not since Huawei removed the updates from its site a couple of years back. Not that any update will work of course...
I've never known a phone to be so difficult to get the correct software for and to ultimately upgrade. I even managed to update an LG G5 around 2 years ago when there were no official updates, but this Huawei P9 is just silly...
I think the update process should be this, update to the latest possible Android 6 then 7 for the P9, rebrand to the AL10 and, update to the chinese Oreo and then overlay the Kirin fix (I think); is that correct?
Thanks folks.
Paul.
Hey @vorlockfoss can you send me the B322 that you have found in order to update from B210 Marshmallow to Nougat?
Huawei's firmware servers were taken down only last quarter of 2020 so october/november/december 2020 around those months.
Hi W00fer,
How are you?
B322 is the version I downgraded from, back to C900B300. If you have B210 then you'll need B386;
HWOTA.zip | by Tecalote for P9
there are instructions in the folder. It includes the full firmware for EVA-L09 C432 B386 - for update from Android 6 to Android 7. For example from b182 or b210 to b386.
androidfilehost.com
I've responded more completely to your other message, so if you need further advice it may be better to reply there and I'll do what I can to help. I will update this thread after we've finished, just to keep it tidy.
Thanks,
Paul.
I need dire help . I just downloaded the new MIUI 13 update and rebooted to install it but it went into a bootloop instead.. It's not rebooting into fastboot either.
Never download MIUI updates right after they get released. My Redmi Note 9 (EEA) also got bricked, but on the 12.5 release. I had to send a complaint to the shop where I bought it from and they have reflashed my whole phone, thus losing all my data like authenticator codes and 80 GB of photos and videos with my family. And this is a Mediatek chipset which is very common to get the phone bricked on. Always wait for at least the first patch before updating anything, or just don't update and stick with the already buggy environment.
Hello pipul I stoicly still run with a Huawei P7 Ascend (series number: P7-L10V100R001C00B623. andoid version: 4.4.2. Emui version:3).. Today Whats App is not working anymore and cannot update it because "your device is not compatible". A cold wake-up. I red online tha whatsapp don't work anymore with olld version of Android, I would like to try to upgrade to Android 5. I saw online that this update is even officilaly possible, as already in 2015 Huawei was rolling out the update directly to phone's updater. Unfortunately in my updater there are no new update one can install. But I see in the updater in settings that there's option to install "locally", with update being placed in the sd card. I'd like to ask you guys the best way for me to install the (official) version of Android 5 for this device, where I can find the software, if there's a particular guide etc. (ps. I ask you also the noob question, that if I need to backup my data priorly as they might be lost in the process, and what are the best app for the P7 to do the full backup). Thank you so much for the help you can give me !!
