Chromecast with google tv - change remote profiles - Google Chromecast

Hi,
Is there any way to set a key on the remote to change between 2 remote profiles?
This would be the reason why I could really use this:
I have a 5.1 system that I need to turn on and change volume from it's own remote, because it's connected using Optical cable. The problem is there is a noticeable delay between TV audio and the 5.1 audio system, and even if I sink it up for YouTube, Netflix will have a different delay and so on.
So each time, to use the 5.1 system I need to turn it on, put the TV on mute, and use the remote volume keys for system volume, and I don't have enough customizable keys on the remote, so I always end up having to use 2 remotes, and having them spread out on the sofa and sitting on them is really annoying.
I have button mapper installed, but I have not found something like Macrodroid in Chromecast Play store, and I'm not even sure it would work.
Kind regards,
Daniel

Bluetooth headset remote control (AVRCP) bug in Droid4

I'm just curious if anyone else is seeing this problem (cut/paste from my report on MOTODEV.com):
The Bluetooth AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Protocol) is broken on the Droid4, at least with respect to the stock Play Music application. Both firmware versions .215 and .219 are affected.
When the display is off, remote control commands from headsets are sometimes not being correctly processed by this device. I'm seeing this with both of my tested headsets, a Sony MW600 and Scala Rider G4. The failure is somewhat intermittent, but occurs most of the time. If the failure doesn't occur immediately after turning the display off and using music controls on a headset, it will certainly occur if you try turning the screen on/off a few times and playing with the headset music controls for a minute (you don't need to 'mash controls", just behave as a normal user would).
During the failure mode, the log is showing that events are being received via AVRCP, it's simply not acting upon them, e.g. pressing the headset play button has no effect but results in the following (while music is playing, with the display off).
05-08 01:47:01.256 4317 4317 I MediaPlaybackService: play()

And whether you're seeing it or not seeing, let me know what ROM you're running. I'm ready to flash something new just over this issue.

[Q] keep Music controls on lock screen!

Hi
Anyone got any idea how I can keep or pin the music controls on the lock screen?
an app or registry hack or anything?
for me this is the single most annoying thing about my new lumia 920 - i used it as a music player constantly, and want to be able to skip without locking, especially if driving - it's currently dangerous...
I know it sucks so much!! I figured they would have fixed that by now. Maybe in Windows 8.1...
Unfortunately there is no way to keep the controls pinned in WP8. I myself dislike this as well, mainly because the controls disappear way too fast. When I am listening to music from my phone using earplugs I might take the phone out of my pocket to skip a song and by the time I decided if I want to listen to the next song or skip that one as well the controls have disappeared and I have to tap the volume rocker to bring them up again. Granted, that is not an issue if I am using the phone in my car with A2DP Bluetooth streaming as I can use the controls on my headunit to skip forwards and backwards, but without such controls it would be a hassle.

it's incredibly annoying - currently I have a '94 Toyota truck, so don't even have remote central locking, never mind bluetooth streaming
currently there's a dangerous fumble and i have to spend longer than I like fiddling with the device each time i want to skip. For an all in one smartphone with media capability this is a huge usability/design flaw.
It's obviously as simple as a registry setting to show/hide for a length of time, or under lock, so we should have the ability to control.
I would love to have it display permanently, so I don't even have to launch the music player - I would pay for this app.

custom buttons control

Hi, I wonder if anyone can anyone help or ideas to my problem.
I come from a long line of Cowon audio players and am now using this phone as my main audio player because the quality is good, though the volume is low and because its convenient to carry one device, with all my music transferred to the 128GB card.
Anyhow, one thing I miss is the ability to use/assign the hardware buttons for basic audio control.
The Z3C has three buttons usable for custom control, though the volume is already assigned so maybe it leaves just one? The camera button.
Perhaps this button can be used with a sequence of presses to control Pause/FFD/RWD tracks (similar to handsfree buttons) or even the power button to control in music mode only and double press to awake phone as normal?
Is this possible at all. Can the signals of the wired handsfree be sent to the hardware buttons?
Phone is still on rooted KITKAT (kinks in 5.1.1 LP yet).
Thanks in advance.
well, you could use Pocket Skip Track to change/stop tracks with a long [or double] click on the volume up/down
as for the wired handsfree you can use JAYS Headset Control and set it so that a single click will start/stop the music, a double click will skip a track and a triple one will skip back.

Hey, thanks for that app, didn't know such existed. Looks promising :good:
Regarding the headset, I was just using it as an example to describe, sorry about the confusion. I use Jetaudio player, which can work with most buttoned headsets already.
But because I use real headphones, they don't have controls on them. Hence, being able to jump/skip tracks with just the Z3C buttons is needed.
Thanks so much for your help.

Any solutions to auto power on Amp?

I'm currently running a Squeezebox based Multiroom audio setup at home. Everything is co-located in a comms cupboard including the Multiroom Amp and from there wired to the ceiling speakers around the house. Currently I use iPeng on our mobiles to control everything including WoL to wake the LMS server. The LMS in turn has one of its USB ports connected to a USB triggered energy saving plug (EOn Intelliplug - USB version), which the Amp is connected to. So when the LMS wakes it triggers power to the AMP and when it sleeps the AMP is powered off.
This has worked well until we started using Spotify (which comes free with our mobile contracts). And also things like Apple Play don't work with my current setup which would be useful when people come around and want to play there own music. There are some hacks and third party plugins but with official support for Squeezebox dropped by Logitech I'm thinking it may be time to move on. I've just been waiting for a reasonably priced alternative that supports syncing of playback across zones and with the now coming to chrome cast it seems like the best route. Especially since Spotify now supports casting aswell
The only caveat is once I drop the LMS from the equation, how do I now trigger the AMP to power on. I have considered swapping the AMP out for smaller discrete AMP's for each zone, but the reasonable priced ones (like SMSL-SA-50) don't support input auto sensing based power on.
Has anyone found a solution to this conundrum? Any triggers from the Chromecast that can be used via some sort of power switch? Or a reasonably priced small AMP with input auto sensing?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Did you ever figure anything out? I have the SMSL SA-50 Plus and its auto off when on optical is driving me bonkers.
Nope, I connected one chrome cast to the living room zone. That zone uses the surround system so didn’t need to worry about amp power on/off. The other zones are still on the squeezebox system.
What do you mean the amp turns off? Does the SMSL have auto power off on no input?

Bluetooth car metadata issue

Hey,
I have an issue with my P30 pro that when I connect it to my car via Bluetooth, no music metadata is displayed and I can't use steering wheel controls. Weirdly if I restart the phone the next time I connect it works fine! I've come from a Galaxy S8 where I never had any issues. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions?!
Thanks!
Ps, the normal phonecall functions work and I can play music over bluetooth, but the actual track info etc isn't displayed.
Have you tried disabling energy saver for your music app? Maybe EMUI is just closing/stopping it from getting startet.
Also had a few problems with android auto and spotify without disabling battery saver for spotify
Yeah, I've tried changing battery saver settings and it doesn't make any difference. I think it must be related to EMUI or Pie but can't work out what. Weird that after a phone restart it works, though. Something must change after it first connects
I experience the same - sometimes. It's been hard to track down what causes it.
Mine is working fine (for different apps), have you tried both battery saver options? there are two menu points for that, don´t know why huawei thinks this is useful at two different places in the settings
works without any problems, including steering wheel controls in my car (spotify, google music, poweramp)
this is probably caused by some application or process... next time try the Optimizer app from Huawei before restart the phone
Same problem
I have the same problem. It happens more often when I start spotify by voice with "ok google, open spotify"
