Question Switch to mobile data automatically is not working - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

so, in wifi advance options there are an option called "Switch to mobile data" this option suposes to switch to mobile data connection when you are connected to a wifi without internet connection, like a camera or a vacuum cleaner's wifi, in my s21 ultra, this option is not working, so when im connected to my car dash cam, the phone does not receive any whatsapp message, so if i tried to browse in chrome a message appears "no internet connection" i reseted the network options, wipe cache, tried on another samsung s21 ultra with the same result, can you guys let me know if you are suffering the same error?
on my old huawei mate 20 pro, this option works

Mobile data issues on AOD

Hi,
I got an problem. Everytime when i use the mobile data and I am in the browser, everything is fine - internet connection is working, but when I have the mobile data on, and the screen is disabled (only aod) the connection to internet is interrupted and I have no acces to the internet. The intelligent mobile transfer is off, but still when the phone is on allways on display, after few minutes the connection is "off", even if the mobile data is on. I checked the connection signal, and everything is fine. Is there an system app that might be killing the internet connection? It's my first time with Huawei.
Best regards

Maybe your smart data saver is on. Search for it in the settings.

Then in app launch, have you restricted google play services ? make sure that auto launch - secondary launch - run in background is all turned on
Also make sure data saver is off, reboot and then try again.
Lastly, under More Battery Settings - make sure Stay connected when device sleeps is Turned On
Okay I changed the app launch for Google Play Services to manual and will see if it will work. @JJay666 thanks for the help.

Well, better check it as BBS/Gsam says that mobile data is off when wifi is connected.

No, as far as I have observed it's behaviour, it stays connected, and will kick in when WiFi is still connected but unstable or slow or no internet available.
Also, VoLTE calls are made via mobile data even when connected to WiFi (unless you have WiFi calling enabled).
LTE is not completely disabled when WiFi is connected unless you turn it off manually. At least that's my understanding...

Do you have notification turned on? In the app settings
Yes, battery optimization turn off, only if the apps working in the background i get notifications
Maby you also know how to replace orign os with funtouchos, i tried all the tools nothing works
Replace origin with funtouch doesn't work at the moment.
I'm gonna quote myself. You could also activate "mobile data always on" in developer options.
I uninstalled all chinese apps and used ADB command to delete all non relevant apps where uninstall didnt work/was not avaible. I also removed com.bbk.pem (energy app) to avoid freezing my widgets and apps - removing it did not affect battery life

will enabling "mobile data always on" means that roaming is also on? I'm only concerned that if I'm overseas, it will use mobile data/roaming
Did you ever get this sorted as I can't get a lot of my post to show any notifications

No, roaming will still be detected and mobile data will be cut off when enter roaming area. To enable/disable this, you have a separate option in sim settings.
The "mobile data always on" just keep the connection alive even when phone entering power save or deep sleep.

Question Data connection is active even when on WiFi

Hi all,
I'm noticing that the data connection seems to be active even when on WiFi. Is there any option that I need to disable so that the phone runs entirely on WiFi. I looked in the developer options and keep data alive option is unchecked. Am I missing something?

Hi, just go into Wi-Fi Settings / Advanced and switch off tab (Switch to mobile data)
That's all.
Hi. Thanks for this but this option was never enabled in the first place. Anyways, it's self corrected now...aah..the wonders of the tech world

It's enabled by default just to keep your internet connection stable when wi-fi has an issues.

It will re-appear occasionally. Even if you turn off the "Switch to Mobile Data" setting, the mobile data icons and wifi icons will appear concurrently on the status bar. This happens even when the wifi connection is solid. Usually the mobile data icon disappears after a few seconds or minutes on its own. I'm not sure if its by design (for MMS or RCS or something else) or if it's a bug. But you're not the only one seeing this. My colleague has an S21U too and he shared a similar experience.

I'm suffering from the opposite problem!
I *WANT* to keep mobile data enabled while connected to Wi-Fi, but the setting on my phone has no effect! When I turn on the setting, my phone will still ignore mobile data.
I verify this by connecting to my dashcam via Wi-Fi. The dashcam does not provide any internet via Wi-Fi, but merely allows my phone to view the dashcam output and stored files. But once I connect my phone to the dashcam, then my phone has no connection to the internet. I can't force it to use the mobile data at that point. The phone is not behaving as it should. My older phone, LG G6, is able to successfully connect to the dashcam and still access the data through the cell signal.
The S21 Ultra simply cannot achieve this. I have the T-mobile variant, in the US.
I believe this is a bug. Can you get this setting to actually work? Like maybe test it by connecting your phone to your Wi-Fi router but disconnect the modem from the Wi-Fi router?
I'll post a separate thread for this, because I think it's a bug and maybe others are suffering from it without realizing.

Download booster is gone for good
You can use the "mobile data only apps" feature as a workaround and install a browser working only on mobile data...
