I want to push the modded build so I can see protected apps, but my adb's not working. Alternative way?
copy it to ur sd card and use terminal emulator as su to copy the file over or use root explorer...
Just put the file on your SD card and use a file explorer program. Move the file to the location you want it at. After the file has been copied reboot the phone.

What would I have to do in Terminal? And when I try to move the new build in root explorer it says the System folder is read only.
SU File Browser has root access, and can remount /system as rw so that you can copy the new build.prop over.
If you are trying to install the SuperCharger script and can't find a busybox installation equal to or less than 1.18.2 please find attached 1.17.1. You can install with a simple xcopy deployment on top of an existing busybox install. More than likely busybox installed to /system/xbin but you should check first. You can use an app like Root Checker to find the real location. After you have identified where it is installed simply remount the file system as r/w and copy the attached file over the busybox installation you found. I used the app Root Explorer to remount the file system r/w and copy of my busybox install.
Update: I could not attach the file as it was not of an acceptable file ext so here is a link:
jayflowers.com/Misc%20Downloads/busybox
Update: I forgot to mention that you need to make sure that you set execute permissions on the busybox binary after you copy it over...

two ways to change your hostname
1. open edit /system/etc/dhcpcd/dhcpcd.conf with your favorite text editor. under "interface eth0", type: hostname yourdesiredhostname
2. open your favorit terminal emulator, type: vi /system/etc/dhcpcd/dhcpcd.conf
make above mentioned changes.
-> reboot and it should be working. try to ping your device from another piece of hardware in your home network
if you want to change your hosts file - do the same with /etc/hosts ^^
I keep getting this line...
mv: can't remove '/etc/hosts': Read-only file system
is your device rooted? if yes, you have either so mount your root file system as writeable in your file explorer (if it supports root access, like ES File Explorer), or you have to type "su root" at the beginning of your terminal emulator operations.
same problem with a rooted and unlocked device

my device is rooted with kingroot I have installed root explorer and ES file explorer too with giving them root permission as well , but when ever I tried to delete or edit hosts file nothing gets change (with root explorer) and with ES file explorer it says " read only file " I tried to change the permission in properties but failed to save the check boxes result. oh man I forget to mention my problem here my cell is infected by a "freedom" app when finally I found it useless I changed the freedom app setting to "freecore" my device got reboot after that I uninstalled the app , now I am unable to connect with google servers , can't use play store , I also tried hosts file Editor but got no result I know my problem is to delete the hosts file , but something is not letting me to take control over hosts file , my android is 5.1 and model is huawei honor 4c ?
Does anyone know what files to replace/permissions to set in the system image when updating SuperSU and busybox, and where to get these files?
Yes.

root:root
You extract them out of the SuperSU package.
Have a look at my attachment, this unzip to /system/xbin/

Thank you! I had to place the busybox file into both bin and xbin in order for busybox installer to recognize the updated version, but other than that, I followed your instructions exactly. So now my question is if I just updated the supersu binary to the latest version, why is supersu still telling me that I need to update the binary? Did you extract these from 2.46?
Two more questions: how did you extract them, and where did you get the version of busybox that you included in your previous post?
busybox is just in priv-app not in app - it works.
I don't know, why that update message comes up. It's the latests SU
You can open apk's like ZIP to extract. But you can find Update-ZIP to flash with recovery, to extract
That's the latest busybox I installed on an other android. Just moved to the System-Images.
Thanks for the useful app. I have a stupid problem hope anyone give me a solution.
My device is S-ON, TWRP, UNLOCKED, Android 5.0.2 I flashed SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip in TWRP, and use Root Checker checked my access, but when I want to add script file in "su.d" folder, I can't find the "su" folder in root directory, system folder or anywhere in MiXplorer/Root Explorer with root access, I even tried flash SuperSU again. Could anyone tell me why and how to add files to su folder? Thank you!

PS. I want su folder because I flashed AdAway_systemless_hosts_v2.zip but AdAway didn't work, also tried this but as I said, there is no su folder.
