Wow, even on locked bootloaders? That definitely sucks.

My bootload was unlocked when i downgraded to locked OOS10 with MSM. But that was no issue before 11.0.1.1. I've done that and still had L1 on 10. In combination with what is in the official OP forum i dont think the bootlaoder is the problem ;(

.

This is not a general issue. I myself had 11.0.1.1 installed with unlocked bootlaoder and was able to revert to OOS 10 without any issues. Bootloader locked and Widevine L1.
Maybe it is related to the MSMDownload Tool variant you used. Which one was it?

So weird... i mean how can L1 be on 11 but not 10 ;((( I'll try now to unlock and lock on 11 and then downgrade to EU 10 and wait more then 24h with biometric auth activated.... Probably its also they way i am installing the driver for MSM ... (i leave the driver uninstalled until the disconnect sound appears, then without the driver installed the device does still not reboot... then i installed the msm driver - device does not auto reboot like that with driver installed) Lets see... i now installed the driver before it was connected and pressed start directly
Update: Not working.

[Mi9T Pro] Bootloader unlocked - Google Play Certification - Widevine from L1 to L3

Hi,
I've unlocked bootloader like 4 different times, and my Widevine Turns the L1 into L3.
The main problem for me, is that i can't use Netflix and worst, can't install Samsung Gear Wearable. Even downloading both apps from apkpure, the system give a pop up message saying "App incompatible with this Android Version."
Anyone know's how to unlock bootloader without all this problems? Or how to Bypass it?
I'm using Mi 9T Pro.
I don't think you can get back L1 after unlocking your phone. It is similar to T2 chip in Apple devices.

Not sure how is your Widewine status linked to the bootloader. For Xiaomi Global devices, it always stays L1 even after bootloader unlock.

Netflix and Samsung not allowing you to download from Playstore has nothing to do with DRM. They have different policies for different regions. Try using the Safety net magisk module if that helps. Otherwise, use a modded Netflix app that works on unlocked bootloader.

Errors to avoid for Noobs & Advanced Users !

Hi,
This is gonna be very short :
As you can see, flashing custom roms/firmwares on (all) Xiaomi devices (after introducing project treble by Google) became a high risky business especially for noobs.
So here is some advice to avoid problems :
1- before flashing any firmware/custom rom : make sure you never choose relock bootloader in MiFlashTools (to avoid hard brick)
2- if you want to relock your bootloader : for example, if your device was shipped with a chinese firmware and you already have unlocked your bootloader, make sure you flash the same regional firmware (chinese one) before relocking it again. Any region mixing = hard brick ! (common error)
3- Mixing firmwares : if your device was shipped with a global/eea firmware and you want to flash a chinese firmware (for a specific rom) or vice versa, use fastboot one but again "don't relock your bootloader" (otherwise = hard brick)
4- tips : before using MiFlashTools, delete .bat files with relock and factory (if you want to keep your bootloader unlocked)
5- never buy a device with unlocked bootloader !
*********
About Anti-Rollback :
Mi 9 Lite / CC9 is not an anti-rollback enabled device, so here you can downgrade from a higher firmware version (10:Q) to the lower one (9ie) ... However, you can't relock your bootloader even if you use a firmware for the same region !
=> Downgrade = possible / Relocking the bootloader is not allowed for a lower android version +++
Conclusion :
NEVER RELOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER IN ALL CASES !
Thank you, very helpful! Can you provide a source about Mi 9 Lite/CC9 definitely NOT having anti-rollback enabled?

Are you sure about that? I just asked similar question (downgrading 11.3.9.0 -> 11.3.5.0) a few days ago, and people here stated that this is possible with relocking, and even without unlocking at all.

OK. So downgrading within one major android version is possible without relock, but going down with major android version requires unlock, right?
I have successfully downgraded from 10 to 9 without re-locking. so its possible

Always Unlock your bootloader before taking any action in your device !
Flashing = Bootloader unlocked (always for your safety)
Staying always locked = Staying in Official MIUI (for your safety)
Read again the OP for more information.

this saved my xiaomi life, after few attempts i got some errors, then i rerun miflashtool, selected IMG and everything and as I forgot that i reran miflashtool it stayed on default "Clean all and lock" and i pressed flash, few seconds of mini hearth attacks as I realised my Xiaomi is now dead, luckily before starting anything I deleted all lock files from image rom folder and it said error: "could not find flash_all_relock.bat"
thanks once again, really best advice since u can forget to tick clean all and when you rerun MiFlashTool it goes back to default which is clean all and lock!
Hi, is the november 2018 version the latest version of MiFlashTools?

Is there any way to make it L1, as WideVine DRM is L3 in DRM Info (bootloader locked)

My Bootloader was unlocked at first with Beta Verizon of Android 10 installed, so sure it would be L3 with bootloader unlocked.
But, then I found a way on XDA to lock the bootloader back by downgrading to Android 9 Pie, from link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5z/help/how-to-lock-bootloader-t4031603
So, this successfully relocked my bootloader and then I upgraded back to Android 10 stable version. Then after upgrading back to Android 10, I did hard reset once. But still when I download the DRM Info App, it still says WideVine L3, with bootloader locked and latest Android 10 Version of the ZenUI installed
Plus here I found one user (dip7g) stating that he did lock bootloader back and got L1 back, but never stated how. Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5z/help/relocking-bootloader-netflix-hd-t3982629
If any one can help me with getting L1 back, it would be great as I would be giving away this cell phone to my little brother, who likes to stream Prime and Netflix a lot.
I have also attached the Screenshots of the bootloader, DRM Info and About Phone.
Thanks a lot, in advance.

Hi! Did you relock the bootloader before booting into the rom? I am no expert and this is my first dual slot and relocked android, but I started off with by installing Oreo
(Name of file was WW_ZS620KL_80.30.96.111_MR2_20180921002943_release-user.raw.zip)
despite the instructions saying to use pie. After installing, I booted into fastboot again and relocked the bootloader before having android start (I can't remember if I had to use a fastboot command to switch slots or not). I then started android and drm info said I had Widevine L1, and after manually updating with the fota links, l am still sporting widevine L1. If you update using the the links like I did, 100.04.44.98 to 100.10.107.36 was leading to a 404 and I went through the post and used a full install zip posted sometime February this year. Hope this somehow helps and good luck!

Thanks I'll try the same. And let's see what happens.
Just to confirm, as I am in latest version of Android 10. I'll try downgrade to oreo, unlock the bootloader and before I boot into Oreo I'll relock it. And see what shows up in DRM info.
Sounds right?

Well, I am not sure if it's tied to your bootloader or not. I saw some people talking about some of the earlier releases of android 10 causing the google play certifications being messed up. Here is a link for someone mentioning this issue:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ze...ota-update-links-update-20-08-t3831794/page80
I'm not sure if you would just need to wipe your data or unlock and relock again. All I can say is I came from Resurrection Remix, used those files, and it worked. I wish I knew more but I am not a developer

Yeah, I'm having a hard time thinking why it would be different for you. Maybe your bootloader didn't get locked right. Hope redoing the steps does something different this time.

I'm the unlucky one I guess l, still the same.
And yes one thing I noticed I was unable to change slot/partition after installing latest Asus USB drivers and latest ADB as well. Everything else worked in fast boot except "--set-active=" command
It was showing up as "unknown operation"

Maybe there are multiple ways of doing this, but I think I did mine by using "fastboot set_active A" Maybe you should update your platform tools if they dont work. I think someone posted an updated version with support for dual slot phones in the twrp install thread. I am a bit crunched for time rn as I just got up and have stuff due tonight.
Thank you bro. I tried everything latest platform tools, driver update, unlocking relocking. but still it is stuck in L3
Still error while trying to change slot/partition
Bootloader is locked, latest Android 10 fota. Still no luck.
So I finally decided to give up trying.
But I highly appreciate your support. Thanks man.

Widevine L1 on unlocked bootloader

For some reason after updating Oxygen OS 11.0.1.1.GM21AA on my GM1910
Widevine L1 is back
It was never available before
I'm not sure if Oneplus made something
But here are some screen shots
Same here. I'm scared to update to the latest OTA in case I lose it.

On almost all roms we have L1 enabled if we had any OOS11 version as base.
So are there any special steps to get L1 on an unlocked bootloader or can I just wipe my phone and install the android 11 update over 10?

Ok trying to get my Widevine back to L1 from L3 and can't find a solution. I was in the last OOS10 (widevine L3) then updated to the latest 11.0.1.1.HD65AA at OnePlus chat support request and it's still L3... So I updated for nothing. I don't get it lol. Reason for posting is that I kinda want to try LOS, but not sure if that will restore L1? Thanks
It's hit or miss. I couldn't get L1 with unlocked bootloader, no matter what.
The only way to get L1 back in my case is to lock the bootloader and go back to official.
@RokCruz
Are you suggesting to update from an Android 10 L3 unlocked state to Android 11?
With Magisk already on it?

I already tested on all OB and the lastest stable OOS11 and Widevine stay in L1, even in ROMs Widevine will be L1 if you use any OOS11 stock ROM as base
So, my recommendation is make a backup of your stuff, take off the fear and try by yourself.

Question Bootloader unlock

Hello everybody,
I've recently bought a Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra.
After using it for a couple months, i've noticed two things that don't work.
First, Netflix application is unavailable on the play store. I've downladed the apk from different sources but impossible to get it working.
Second, googlepay don't work because "my terminal is not safe".
I've read a lot of threads before posting it.
When my phone boot, there is an open padlock si i assume my bootloader is unlock.
I've checked my DRM info, and Widevine CDM security level is L1.
i've run Safetynet check and everything is in green except CTS profile matched who is in red
The advice is "lock bootloader".
I'm currently running MIUI Global 14.0.1 / 14.0.1.0 (TKAMIXM)
Why is my bootloader unlock if i am running an official global rom ? Was it a Chinese version ? It's not an official ROM ? How to know what was running before ?
What is the best way to get netflix and Gpay working ? Flashing a stock rom and the bootloader will lock itself or flash a xiaomi.eu rom with TWRP ?
I've read that xiaomi.eu rom hide unlock BL.
Thanks in advance for your answers
Regards

Your bootloader is unlocked. Probably your phone is Chinese version with installed global ROM. My advice is: flash xiaomi.eu or EliteRom (which is based on xiaomi.eu and has even more features). Both ROMs are with passed SafetyNet. You will not regret it. Cheers
