Mount as disk drive to Windows 10 - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello- I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that is not rooted... within the last several months albums started to disappear in my gallery. I took out my SD card and ran a recovery on it however those albums did not show up as they were obviously on the internal storage. Does anybody know if there is a way to mount this phone as a disk drive in Windows 10 so I can run the same recovery program on the internal storage of the phone? The phone shows up in Windows but not as a disk drive and the recovery does not see it it only sees disk drives.
Thanks,
TJ

HELP -- Internal storage disappeared

description: During file transfer from my PC to my Diamond the process was stuck, then sot reset i have looked on my diamond and couldn't find Internal Storage via file explorer.
via memory manager there is a message of " Internal Storage: not installed".
i dont have backup of Internal storage and i don't want to format it. how i can safe my Diamond?
thx
Internal Storage disappears when you connect USB
Hi
When you connect USB, you get two options - Disk Drive and Active Sync. If you connect as Disk Drive, the PC takes over and it cannot be seen inside the explorer of Diamond. Better connect with Active Sync for transferring data.
this works try it. google htc diamond internal storage hot fix.
I also have the problem that the internals storage can not be found anymore. I tried everything including double hard reset,... - internal storage could not be formated because it was not found or "not installed". I can connect my Diamond to the PC via ActiveSync but not as a storage device (harddisc).
Cant`t install the sprint hotfix on my german Diamond either (wrong device message).
There is a chance that your internal storage is infected by some virus. The virus for windows desktop versions might not affect Windows mobile, certain times, it could block you from accessing your internal storage.
I had this issue with my Symbian phone (nokia N91), where i got infected by an autorun.inf file, and symbian was unable to access data from the builtin harddrive.
I had this problem last night. Here's how I fixed it:
Connect the phone via USB, and select Disk Drive.
Go into Windows Explorer and wait for the drive to show up. Don't try opening it!
Just right click the drive and wait... When I did this, this step took 10 minutes!
When the menu finally loads up, click Format.
You should be able to leave the defaults that come up. But here's the settings to the best of my memory.
Format: Fat 32, Allocation: 4032 (or something like that), check Quick Format then click Format. And wait some more...

[Q] recover files from internal SD

Hi,
I accidently formatted my internal SD card on my Galaxy, there were still some photo's wich i would like to save.
I know external SD cards can be mounted on computer and then recover files by using recuva or something similiar.
I cannot mount the internal SD as a disk in windows however..
Is there any way i can recover these files after a delete or format, or is it all lost forever?

Click to collapse
Maybe if you're lucky.
Try with "Disk tool 6.x".
Depends upon the format carried out for example windows current quick format does not wipe data and can be recovered using something like Recuva tool .
Windows full format since Vista destroys the data .
I would try a recovery tool in the hope that its a quick type format but i dont know what format Android uses .

any link to that ?
is it marketplace or windows app?
the problem is that i cannot mount the internal SD as a disk in windows.
For external SD its different, just put it in a slot and its recognized as H:\ or something then recuva can scan it.
internal SD isnt visible as driveletter. or is there a possibility?
Recuva via google its free .
View internal SD card via USB Mass Storage Mode .

Thanks alot!
Didnt knew there was an option to mount as usb storage mode.

My girlfriend almost killed me yesterday as there was almost 7 months of photo's on the phone.

[Q] Help needed to migrate apps from One memory card to another

So I Have got a Note (with a 4GB card) and Rom Toolbox pro, not to mention root access, CWM and superuser.
A couple of days back, i connected my note in USB mode to my brother's computer, which unfortunately was infected with a bazillion viruses. I never know that at that time.
After that, I connected the note to my PC and My antivirus deleted the viruses.
Now the problem is that if I connect my Note to pc in normal mode, i can see all the contents, but I can not back up anything as the system gives out an error.
If I connect the note in USB mode, all i can see are the folders created after the date when my AV cleaned up my phone and card.
Now I got a 32 GIG class 10 card and I wish to migrate all the apps from my Memcard to the newer memcard. But I am unable to do so. Reason being ROM toolbox doesnt show any backups when i insert the 32 GB card. Even if i put my memcard in a card reader, none of the folders show, but the space in the card is same as it shows when i see it from the storage app on my note.
So to sum up, I need to achieve these tasks:
1. I want to see all the contents of the phone and the memory card when i connect the phone in USB mode.
2. I need to know how to restore one backup to another memory card?
3. I need to know where are the backups stored?
4. I need to know how to create a complete backup on my PC.
Thanks in advance. I am new to android so kindly bear with my noob-ish questions

Xperia TL: Problem mounting SD card on OS X

Hi all,
I just got the Xperia TL, and have had problems mounting the SD and internal phone storage in OS X (running Mountain Lion). It mounts fine under Win 7 (both in Bootcamp and running my Bootcamp partition in Parallels), but Disk Utility doesn't even see the partitions when I connect the phone via USB. The phone registers that the SD card is "mounted" to USB when the phone is connected, so I don't really know what gives.
This card was previously used in another Android device, and mounted fine to OS X over USB. I just took it out of the Xperia TL and reformatted it, put it back in the phone, erased it again in Android (just to be thorough), and it is still not showing up in OS X. The phone still says "Internal storage and SD card mounted to PC" when USB is connected. Any other ideas?
Fixed it: had to download and use Android File Transfer, and the devices internal storage and SD card show up in the application window.
I guess the problem is that OS X doesn't understand the MTP protocol natively, which is apparently the protocol the Xperia TL uses to transfer files over USB, and not MSC (mass storage device class).

Can't read my SD card over USB connection to PC (Win 8.1)

When I connect my 4s (EU) to my PC, it detects the SD card (128GB Kingston or 64GB, both tried exFat and FAT32 formatted), but when opening the contents, it says there's nothing on it, while it has over 40 gb of data on it...!
What's going on? The card is up to spec!?!
The phone's own memory is shown correctly and I can access all maps. The SD card however is detected, but not accessible.
The only files I can see are the ones I copy from PC to phone's sd card over USB connection. But I want to copy photos and videos from phone to PC.....
I already tried uninstalling the Alcatel Idol 4s driver, and reconnected to get this phone mounted again, and the result is the same.
Anyone have this too? Fix?
PS: I've tried FAT32 formatting as well as ExFAT, both cases the PC detects the card, even tells me how much space is available, but shows NO contents and tells me the map is EMPTY!?!?!
Do you try usb debugging? Is ur phone locked when you connect it to pc?
