Inside the Internal Storage, it should have two directory, MUSIC and CONTENT. Could someone upload it?
Are you having a problem with your internal storage folder?

Jreach, I'm having the same problem as you. I had access to my internal storage and lost it within 20 minutes of receiving the device. I can't reformat using Clean Storage (mass storage cannot be accessed) nor can I see the internal storage using memory, storage card (no card installed message). All of this happened PRIOR to connecting my phone to the pc.
When I use active sync (and Windows Media Player to sync music), I cannot see the internal storage. Windows Media Player doesn't see it either. When I use file explorer or whatever the other option is, I see a removeable drive on my PC. I cannot reformat it. If I double click on it on my xp machine I get an error message saying the "F:\ is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
Given that, I suspect we will not be able to fix this and must return our Diamonds to Sprint. Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks.
HELP
On my Diamond the Internal storage has gone a bit wrong, it all started when i pluged it in my pc to charge it up, after i took it out them later on i went to do sumthing on it and the internal storage folder has changed it name to "Internal Storage 2" but the original "internal storage" folder is still there and i am confused about it
please help
I suppose you connected your Diamond to the PC as an external harddrive and not via ActiveSync. By doing so, the internal storage is no longer visible to the OS as long as it´s conncted to the PC.
I would imagine that during that connection some program running on your Diamond (e.g. Messaging etc.) was trying to access the internal storage, couldn´t find it and created a new folder Internal Storage 2.
Just check what kind of files you have in your Internal Storage2 - might shed some light on the mystery.....

in the internal storage folder there is only theprogram files folder and in that there is RSS Hub folder, in the Internal storage2 folder there is My documents, you tube and a MP3 folder also the internal storage2 folder has the picture of a mem card on the icon like the orignal storage folder used to be like.
And there seems to be the culprit: RSS Hub was doing an update while connected to the PC in harddrive mode > wants to store the update data on "Internal Storage", doesn´t find it so recreates it. After disconnecting from your PC the original "Internal Storage" becomes visible again, but is renamed in "Internal Storage 2" to avoid dublicates......had this happen a few times on previous devices, where the SD card could temporarily not be recognized.
Try to delete "Internal Storage", then rename "Internal Storage 2" back to "Internal Storage" and you should be back in business with all you program links etc. working again!

I had the same thing happen with "Internal Storage2" showing up. It was caused, in my case, by the phone being connected to the computer in Disk Drive mode and then the phone received something that it wanted to automatically store in the Internal Storage area which was unavailable (in my case it was picture mail). Since there wasn't an Internal Storage area available it created one called "Internal Storage". When the Disk Drive mode phone was released and disconnected it couldn't use "Internal Storage" any more and thus it renamed it to "Internal Storage2"
I didn't think of going into Disk Drive mode again until after I had already tried a soft reset. I removed the Internal Storage folder that had been placed in main memory and then did a soft reset. The Internal Storage without the "2" has come back and is the 4gb storage area.
I can't remove the internal storage folder because it has the internet explorer files, and they are in use. I fix it renaming the internal storage folder to another one (in mi cause almacenamiento interno2 to almacenamiento internozzz because my diamond is in spanish) and after a soft reset the internal storage was again in his correct name.
Hi all,
My problem with Diamond is that I can not access to 4GB storage memory. When it is disconnected from usb the 4GB can not be found anywhere. I tried formating also but storage not found. When I connect Diamond to pc via USB, then there is also not found as disc in windows. I tried to restart diamond but it didn't help.
Please help.
Thank you.
Tom
you need to hard reset it
OK thank you, I will try it. But I thougt that hard reset doesn't touch storage card. Doesn't it only reset ram and rom 256MB?
Yes but your problem is with the system, not with the 4GB themselves (which are NOT a storage card btw).
When it is disconnected from usb the 4GB can not be found anywhere
Anywhere? That's pretty diffuse and can mean... anything. If its not in explorer under internal memory (shows up as a folder, not a drive), then yes you got a problem. Likewise if you connect via USB file system (not activesync) and it doesnt show up as a drive, again you got a problem.

You can choose from reset only ram or reset ram and format 4GB internal storage.
i think you must format internal storage too.....

yes the folder "internal storage 2" is not in the listing of folders (of course diamond is not connected to pc)
and when I connect it to pc and choose "disc" (not active sync) then it is not found ....the letter is created in pc but it is not accessble.

When I try to restart diamond and run format 4GB internal storage then the program said that somethink like "no internal storage found".
looks like you have a serious problem.
you might need to take it for repair.
contact your supplier.
Hi all!
I did hard reset (I chose hard reset with deleting NAND - volume down in hard reset menu) and now the storage works fine. I am very happy that I don't need to send Diamond to service.
Have a nice day and thanks for all advices.
Tom
same problem -
is there anyway to avoid HR???

Please explain what you mean by "deleting NAND". Thanks.
Same problem, sigh....
One thing I notice is if I browse the windows device itself on Windows XP Explorer I can see the folder for the storage card. I can open it but its empty.

It was just written in menu when selecting hard reset. reset with deleting NAND and reset without deleting NAND.... I think the NAND is the 4GB memory.
I know how to fix it!!!
Hi,
i have same problem with this. I formated storage card with windows XP and this is the problem!!! After i didnt see storage card in diamond explorer. I try everything Soft Reset, HR, edit register and nothing. And this help me with problem: Format Sotrage card with this program "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool". Google it and you will see.
BUT the capacity of storage card is now only 3,6 GB. I dont know how to fix it,but is better then nothing.
Sorry for my bad english.
Is it a Sprint Diamond? If so, I just got out of the same boat.

I have Touch Diamond. Not Sprint Diamond. But thanks for reply.
Internal Storage vs SD Card Slot
I seem to come across an increasing number of issues with internal storage. Can it really get corrupted or have a limited life span just like the MicroSD cards? I am using a diamond and am contemplating upgrading to the Touch HD but the latter does not use internal storage. I was wondering which is more superior in terms of durability. Of course, I can also wait for the Asus P835 which has both. Any advice and views will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Well done! Your HP USB Format tool worked! Thanx mate!
Hi,
I have my P3600 with a 4GB internal MiniSD.
There is a nice freeware utility that let's transform the mobile phone into a USB pen. Once connected to the PC it will be recognized as a USB pen, and the PC will directly access the SD. All the functions of the P3600 are blocked and it is not recognized by the Activesync until the utility is active. The utility is WM5Storage by Igor Bozhko (Freeware).
I tried it on my P3600 and all worked fine selecting DSK1 (the SD memory card) and all my SD data could be accessed and backed up.
On the WM5Storage options I can map what device storage area will be seen by the PC:
- FLASHDIR / Microsoft Flash Disk
- EXT_FLASH
- DSK1: SD Memory Card
I tried to select the "Microsoft Flash Disk" and EXT_FLASH in order to do a Full Backup of all my the mobile windows applications and settings directly from the PC.
Unfortunately it didn't work! I get an error message (unknow file system) on the PC telling the disk is not formatted, "...do you want to format?"
- What file system is used on the Windows Mobile ?
- Is there any way to map it as a disk and see it in XP ?

During file transfer from my PC to my Diamond the process was stuck, then i have looked on my diamond and couldn't find Internal Storage via file explorer.
via memory manager there is a message of " Total memory card: not installed".
so I did a Hard reset but still there is no Internal storage, also tried to format the Internal Storage but there was no access.
PS, My diamond is not a sprint.
how can I recover my Storage?

If I'm not mistaken, when you have the phone connected to your PC as an external hd, you cannot access this storage on your phone because "it's in use" by your PC. When you connect via Activesync though, you can access the external storage.
Solution
Found the answer from a sprint forum. This fixed the problem for me.
