The update moves the firmware from 2250.09.12001.531 to 2250.21.30102.531 and the radio version from 5.51.09.11a_22.31.50.09U to 5.65.09.25a_22.45.50.21U.
The rather suspicious timing of all the firmware updates suggests Microsoft may be laying the ground work for the upcoming Mango update, now expected sooner rather than later.
Sure looks like it. With Mango going RTM and the annoucement of the Toshiba Mango phone in Japan we could be looking at Mango by October.
How sweet it is.
Got the update btw. Lots of great improvements.

Yes I know, specialy new radio improve better signal than before!
If I am on Mango Beta 2, will I be able to get this update?
humm my zune does now show the firmware update (yet),
I haven't noticed anything different after the firmware upgrade. Has anyone found anything specific?
The only thing I've noticed is Edge now reads as 2G. Reception is no better or worse than before.
I was hoping the 16bit color bug would've gotten fixed, but no. That **** better not carry over to Mango. Though, it really doesn't bother me at all. Its just that it shouldn't be that way and is very, very easy fix.

Me neither!
It could be a placebo effect but I notice smoother performance. An example would be the start screen its smooth no matter how many tiles are pinned, where as before, if there were more than 22-24 tiles it would start to kinda stutter when doing a long flick to get from top to bottom in one swipe now performing one long swipe will get from top to bottom smoothly only this time I have 30 tiles pinned. That is the only noticeable positive difference. The only noticeable NEGATIVE difference is (ironically) reception, well, not reception more than data speeds. Reception is pretty much the same but for some weird reason my data speeds have become spotty, before, I did a series of speed tests with the bandwidth app and I saw a trend of a ~500 kbps difference between highest and lowest speeds. Now the difference is about 1.5 mbps with the fastest data speeds being the highest I've ever seen on this device at about 2.5-3.0 mbps. Now I like those speeds but I like consistency better. So before I had slower, but more consistent speeds and now I have faster, but inconsistent speeds... I still have yet to see if these fluctuations are because of the recent blackout we had because of the thunderstorm we just had yesterday. It actually got bad enough yesterday to the point where I had no signal at all, I'll let a couple of days go by to see what happens.

Nopes. Dont notice any difference with the upgrade
My bluetooth is working much better now. my phone wouldnt connect to my car automatically now it does.
The new firmware and radio update from HTC plus the new(final) mango beta 7712 equals the sweetness. Everything just runs and looks better. I feel like I have a new phone.
No update prompt yet.
Picked up my tmobile HD7 on eBay, unlocked and appears to be unbranded too (no tmobile branding on boot screen).
If there's a way for me to rebrand, it would offered the update? Any ideas...
I could be imaging things, but I think my battery life is better. Usually the phone being off the charger for 13 or 14 hours would leave me at about a 1/4. Today, I was at about 3/4 after 13 hours with my normal usage. No phone calls, decent amount of texts, WiFi on at all time with a decent amount of web surfing. Obviously we'll see going forward.

mine is unbranded too yet i can upgrade to 7712.got an email yesterday and now zune 'keep pestering' me to upgrade to 7712.Just afraid that if i upgrade i need to go back to nodo when the final mango is release.
HTC HD7 firmware update
I have a non-branded HTC HD7. Do I also get the update or only branded T-Mobile users?
One thing I have noticed a major improvement on is voice dialing through bluetooth.
Before the update, when I activated voice dial on my headset, it would connect intermittantly, sometimes after a second or 2, sometimes after 10 or more seconds, or it would activate without the speak prompt - then after waiting for the prompt, it would time out.
Now after the update, it seems to have smoothed itself out, I haven't had to wait for more than 2 seconds, and it always gives me the prompt correctly.
There's a noticeable improvement for the camera in lowlight situations. Before pics would get blown out almost anytime the flash was used. Now at least they are somewhat respectable. Combine with ability to "auto-fix" which is hit or miss but on occasion does improve the pic (normalizes lighting differences, brightens areas that are too dark, etc.), the camera has gone from "i will never use this at night" status to "I can use this again at night!".
I reverted back to nodo and installed the Htc update.
And reinstalled mango 7712 .
I don't see a 2G.
i am using an Asian HTC HD 7.notice that the phone stays on 3G more often than "H"
Maybe now the radio stack is behaving intelligently to signal conditions this saving battery life.

Hello all,
Had my Nexus 6 since launch day in the UK, and I started out really liking it, but it's getting more and more in my bad books as I live with it. Wonder if anyone who has one could look over this and tell me if these issues are standard with this device, or whether I need to get onto the network (Vodafone - what a pain)
Reboots - I'm getting a number of reboots. I know this can be app caused, and I'm working through. The main problem is that it requires a pin or swipe to start it booting up, so overnight if it happens, you've got yourself a dead phone till you physically get it going again in the morning
slowdown - I've got a couple of games, one is sky force, that worked well on my note 3, but suffers some terrible slowdown on the Nexus. No idea why this would happen with a better processor
not connecting to 5g on the router - my router has a 2 and 5 g aerial. It works fine on the 2 g, and every other device works on the 5g, but the nexus just will not connect.
slowness of starting up the camera - starting the camera can be 30 seconds.
Upside down display camera pics on some apps - KIK for eg? I know others with Lollipop who don't have this issue on their Sammys.
very bad battery - In use, heavy use, it'll be 3 hours. Average use, bit of messaging, a game, internet, could be 4 hours.
lack of focus on camcorder - it won't stay on a fixed
Slowness of booting up - Can be literally 5 minutes to boot to the main screen. Reminds me a bit of Windows at its worse!
I've had smartphones for many years, and I'm used to their foibles, like battery life and apps that cause reboots, but this is probably the most difficult phone I've had to live with!
I love the screen, the hugeness of it is just what I want, and the sound is great.
I'm getting the crashes, primarily when using the camera, doesn't reboot just stops, 3 times in a few minutes on more than one occasion. Sometimes won't connect to home WiFi without a restart. Start up is very slow. Don't suffer from the other issues. I'm on O2 4G.

This is actually looking a lot like it may be a software defect. For now, the best solution (i.e. temporary, until 5.1 comes out later this month) is to run the phone withOUT encryption. There are lots of threads around about the minor boot partition change needed to accomplish this.
[*]slowdown - I've got a couple of games, one is sky force, that worked well on my note 3, but suffers some terrible slowdown on the Nexus. No idea why this would happen with a better processor

Two reasons;
1) is that despite the better processor, anything I/O heavy will take a lot of CPU power to just handle the crypto. Hopefully, this is something that will be solved (hwcrypto) with 5.1.
2) android 5.0 has some major changes in the runtime -- ART vs Dalvik. If the application developer broke rules in building the software you are running, then it is possible that it won't work optimally on ART. Hopefully, the application developer can adapt.
[*]not connecting to 5g on the router - my router has a 2 and 5 g aerial. It works fine on the 2 g, and every other device works on the 5g, but the nexus just will not connect.

Works for me....?
Try a router with OpenWRT.
If I remember correctly, some of the OLDER 5G 802.11AC chips used in a lot of routers, like TPLINK Archer C7v1, which has a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9880-AR1A had hardware that was a bit rushed to market and failed to meet a number of the AC specifications. So if your router is such an AC, then the hardware that is working with it may be using 802.11N (older tech), whereas this phone is trying to negotiate an 802.11AC link with it, and failing. So there is a good chance that the problem is actually on the ROUTER's side, rather than the phone.
[*]slowness of starting up the camera - starting the camera can be 30 seconds.

There are *two* ways to deal with orientation in jpg images; one is to write the image to the file "upright", the other is to write it to the image file as it comes from the buffer, and just give it an orientation flip flag. The software you are using *may not respect* the orientation flag.
[*]very bad battery - In use, heavy use, it'll be 3 hours. Average use, bit of messaging, a game, internet, could be 4 hours.

I'm actually finding the battery to be quite phenomenal on this device. With low-moderate usage, it will actually go for TWO ENTIRE DAYS on a charge. Usually to get that kind of battery life, I have to apply very invasive controls against google services to prevent them from setting alarms and holding wakelocks.
However, if you have the screen on high brightness and actually turned on a lot, do remember, the screen is ENORMOUS. It takes power to light it up.
[*]lack of focus on camcorder - it won't stay on a fixed

I had to check that to verify, and confirm it. That appears to be a bug in the camera application. Try a different camera program for now, and hope that 5.1 fixes it.

Might be software crypto, mine isn't encrypted, and literally boots right up to the unlock screen in about 10 seconds.

Well, the SIZE is almost certainly what is causing you battery life issues. The rest of it is basically because you are running an early version of a MASSIVE system update and simultaneously riding on new hardware that brings in its own batch of *software* bugs. There are some bugs in it that need to be worked out, and hopefully, the majority get worked out with 5.1. There *are* google-private 5.1 builds for Nexus 6 already, so it is just a matter of waiting for them to complete QA and ship it out.
Thanks for this, really appreciate the time, I'll have a good look through later!
Found a fix for the 5ghz router issues on the Google forum.
Apparebtly the nexus favours the American 5g channels... So I've set it to 36 and 40 and its working well! Yey.
Tomorrow I'll try a cache wipe to see what else I can correct before the update.
Has anyone else noticed that the phone is slow to wake, lock the screen set it down for 10 seconds and press either the power button or the finger print scanner and it takes 2-2.5seconds for it to wake. I am not sure if this is how it was before but I recently noticed it.
my device wakes up directly.. under 1 sec. (what have you done?)
I took out my 128Gb Lexar Class 10 MicroSD and it is now very fast to wake, I tried the SD card on my S7 and it has no effect on the S7's wake time what so ever. I am not sure whats in the microSD causing it to slowly wake up or if it is a firmware limitation on the P9 Plus
I have a P9 here with a 64Gb MicroSD card and it is also slow to wake as Ive compared waking the the P9 with a microSD and the P9 Plus with out.
My P9 Plus with 64GB microSD card, instant wake within 1 second. No issue so far.
Hmmm I wonder what is causing it then. I formatted both MicroSD and tried it on the P9 Plus and get the same issue :/
What is the firmware versions of the handsets you guys have ?

I have updated to B170 and it is still slow to wake even if the SDcard has no contents :/

If you lock the phone and leave it alone for 10-20 seconds and press the power button you dont get a wake up delay ? Its happen to both the P9 and P9 Plus I have here and with the 64Gb MicroSD from Sandsik and 128GB from Lexar.

I just upgrade to this L29C636B170. No issue, never had wake up delay issue, wake up always within 1 to max. 2 seconds.
Here seems only you have this issue. Possible certain apps you install affecting it.

If it takes your device 2 seconds max to wake then that is th issue. The device wakes in less than 1 second with out and SDcard installed ( I am estimating 0.4-0.5 seconds )
With the SDcard installed and I lock the phone and leave it alone for at least 10seconds then the initial wake time is 2seconds. If I lock then unlock again in less than 10seconds the wake time is less than 1s.
Can you do a video on how fast your device wakes? Ill probaly upload one showing the delay.
I dont think it has anything to do with the apps as I dont have apps installed on the SDcard and even if the sd is empty it still adds a delay. I tested it on another 16Gb card and has the same issue.

I count by my own not using any thing to measure. I said maximum 2 seconds but never reach, always 1 second or to more accurate 1.3 seconds? lol is that 0.3 seconds or even 1 seconds bothering?
You said yours is 10 to 20 seconds, did you know how slow is that? if your unit is 10 to 20 seconds then it is way something big wrong.
My device is 1 to 2 seconds, which is nothing wrong to me at all.
I won't do any video about it, all my used before device fingerprint is 1 to 2 seconds and it is pretty normal to me, include S7 Edge, Redmi Note 3, Mi Max and current device P9 Plus. All with MicroSD card with capacity for at least 32GB to 64GB. With or without it never affect my fingerprint unlocked in any mentioned device.

There seems to be a massive miscommunication here.
I didnt say 10 to 20 seconds but if I did, please quote me in that so I can have it corrected.
What I mentioned was if you lock the device and leave it alone for atleast 10 seconds and try to wake the device it takes 2 - 2.5 seconds longer if an SDcard is installed, if there is no SDcard installed it takes 0.5 to wake.
I also want to clarify it, this has nothing to do with finger print read speed, just how fast the device can wake.
I mentioned to leave it alone for 10 seconds after locking thr phone as the issue does not appear if you just lock and wake the phobe immediately.
2 seconds is not a big deal but it becomes a big deal when folks misunderstand what I wanted to find out and claim they dont experience the issue but infact they do but just didnt understand what I wanted to find out. This is not nitpickin just wanted to know if I am the only one affected but it clearly shows this is the norm for the P9 and P9 Plus which you also confirmed is happening to you.
I aslo have and s7 and a note 3 none of them have an added delay to the wake speed when a microSD is used.

Sorry miss read that 10 to 20 seconds.
My P9 Plus is the fastest to unlocked than S7 Edge or Redmi Note 3 and Mi Max.
It is 1 second to 1.3 seconds not 2 seconds as it never reach that. I dunno you are actually nitpicking on that (you really are just you didn't realise). I just simply point out at 1 to 2 seconds earlier as nobody will point out 1.3 seconds. Now I change to 1.3 seconds purposely for you.
It is around 1 to 1.3 seconds and it is the fastest unlocked and wake up device I ever use. S7 Edge is actually the slowest unlocked among device i ever use recently but it still as good as it serve for unlocked and wake.
My comment ended here and no longer will reply. Peace.

You are still missing the point, I wanted to know if it is normal for the P9/P9 Plus to have a longer wake delay if an SDcard was installed. If that is normal then I accept that but if that is caused by my SDcard and only affecting my unit they I need to have this checked and possibly replaced.
Thank you.
I've a SanDisk Extreme 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 Memory Card in my P9 Plus - wake up on fingerprint scanner is INSTANT (snaps fingers).
Apologies for not reading all of the thread; have you tried a different sd card?

Yes, I have the same memory card too. Has a delay. I have tried a total of 3 cards. The only time it instantly wakes if I lock the phone and wake it again in under 10seconds other wise the delay sets in.

Have you tried the dreaded factory reset?
Wake up snappy with or without SD installed for me! *under sec!
I have the P9 Plus and my mom uses the P9. I've noticed a longer than usual wake up delay if there is an SDcard installed.
When pressing the power button with out an SDcard installed the device wakes up with in 1 second but if I have an SDcard installed it will add another 1 to 1.5seconds of wake time delay.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? If anyone with an SDcard wants to help me figure this out lock your device and leave it alone for at least 10 seconds then press the power button and try to observe how long the screen wakes and compare it with out an SDcard. If you just wake the phone in less than 10 seconds this then 'issue' wont appear.
The P9 is running on a B636 firmware while my P9 Plus is on C432
I've only tested it with 3 different SD cards, a Generic 16GB card, a 64Gb Sandisk UHS1 Class10 and a 128Gb Lexar Class 10 UHS1
Both the P9 and P9 Plus are the dual SIM variants, I am starting to think that only the dual sim version are affected.
Seems like there is something wrong, mine turns on pretty much instantly no matter if I use the power button or fingerprint reader.
We are talking about a split second here. Relax dude and use the phone.

You dont need to over react, I just wanted to figure out if it is just affecting the two units I got and it is more than just a split second, infact its a full 2 seconds. I know that is just a little time but when you get to used to instant and now you start to see a delay but I am more curious if my units are defective or if it is the norm. But I am starting to think its the norm as nobody has replied yet that its the same speed with an with out an sd.

I have an microSD installed (64gb) since day one. Still instant turn ons and unlocks.
I'm almost two years late to the convosation but I have same as you EarlZ, my P9 can take up to 5seconds to wake which is very annoying and pisses me off, I have a mate 10 pro now which is lighting fast, I hope it don't end up as slow as the P9.
Nice phone overall just a few gripes
1. Android Pie - no word at all when we will see it, phone is still at Oct 5 2018 security pack.
2. unable to determine band phone is on - LTE discovery will only show band two, most of the time the other bands just DL/UL freq of 6657.7Mhz
3. erratic determining my location , apps like nest complain of erroneous when trying to geofence...
4. android auto will continually crash first thing in the morning till you start the program then exit it.
no crashes so far, just little thing like some programs not quite working correctly, maybe Pie upgrade will fix it. No much of taking pictures with the phone but do miss the night-vision on my pixel two. have not seen any warmup when using it day to day, battery life is pretty good.
btw, the Razer wireless charging base when the phone is on it will spin up a cooling fan inside of the charger unit. can hear it in a quiet room...
Change to item 2
LTE Discover appears to be an abandoned app., no response to email sent and no update since middle of last year.. Someone suggested Network Cell info https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wilysis.cellinfolite which works correctly and does show the band that I am on (b66)..
Seriously can't believe razer phone 2 is still on oreo. Am glad I didn't fall for this phone again like I did with razer 1.
Switching back to my pixel 2xl till Pie is out, tried to get a date from razer and got the generic cut-n-paste reply.
