I used to be able to do this with my old Pixel XL - with TWRP. I now have a Magisk rooted Pixel 5 sans TWRP.
Q: How do I install ElementalX and Magisk in that environment?
FIrst off, wrong section, second there are threads in the guide section, a little search goes a long way.

You don't have to be such a **** about it. This is a Question & Answer forum. OP asked a question. You can either point them to the right direction or if you're not going to be helpful, just move along.
To answer OP's question, TWRP for Pixel 5 isn't fully functioning yet. Instead, we patch the boot.img to install magisk and kernels in them. You're already rooted with magisk so to install Elemental X kernel, install EX Kernal Manager and there will be an option to flash the kernel.

So i have a question, and maybe its a quick answer, but when you are upgrading mods, is it best to do a complete wipe, and upgrade? Or is it better to just stack the builds? Thanks for the answers ahead of time!

What part of the 'Questions & Answers' section don't you understand?
Also read the requirements for each rom.
I knew i was i was gonna get flamed for posting in this section. My apologies, i was not aware of the Q/A section. I feel better about doing a complete wipe and doing a fresh install. I keep reading about these recovery imgs, i have one, that was created with Flashrec(Cyan 1.4) what is the .img of? Can you just replace that .img, if it was imaged while it while on the stock .img? I'm curious because if so you should be able go back and forth with ease in theory right?

Im sorry but I Didnt see a thread dedicated to this feature. I apologize in advance if this has been covered elsewhere.
Y!S
All roms are flashed via CWM unless they say to do it differently in their thread. CM7 is about the only one that's not done this way.
Nobody gives install instructions anymore since it should be common knowledge if you did your research.
Also, this is NOT a development question. We have a Q&A section for these types of questions.
all custom roms come with CWM built into the kernel.
once you have a custom rom you DONT USE rom manager anymore.
also this is the DEVELOPMENT section.
DO NOT POST QUESTIONS HERE!!!
questions go in Q&A

you guys are misunderstanding his question, ROM manager is capable of sending out OTA's for individual ROM's if the ROM creator implements this feature. as far as I know, there are yet to be any ROM's that use this in the Captivate section, though please tell me if I'm wrong. CM7 will use this feature once it's capable of using ROM manager through a properly functioning param.ko
as for you two, no need to be so aggressive/rude. you didn't answer his question properly and were a bit extreme in your judgment toward him. but as for you OP, they are correct in that this isn't truly related to development and is more suited to "General" or "Q&A" from now on.
my point was nobody uses rom manager after stock anymore.
if someone cant properly post, they wont get a full complete answer

Hey TRusselo you have gone beyond making it known that I posted in the wrong section but no matter how I look at your answers you still come across as a big fat jerk. There isnt any need whatsoever for you to post that.. and then to come back and repeat yourself with another entry saying the SAME thing and MAINTAINING the attitude.. you got my attention.
Kaik541 did answer my question. I was wondering if any devs have used this feature in rom manager. For over the air updates.
As to the reason why I posted in the DEVs section was because i thought that it was a development question. ROMS updated over the air thru ROM MANAGER is implemented by DEVELOPERS. It stands to reason why i have not seen any notes in any DEVELOPERS release and that is apparently no DEVELOPERS are using this feature. I hope that I made it understood as to WHY I posted in the dev section. I am now more familiar with the rules so I do beg your pardon for posting in the wrong place.
Nightly builds that can be updated over the air seems like it would really be something that a DEV would utilize with all the tweeks contently done to these roms. I for one look forward to having such a useful tool.

Nightly builds aren't considered updates. They are made so the flash happy people have something else to play with and test for the devs. They aren't meant for everyone to use as DD's. Utilizing this feature for nightlie's would end up with TONS of questions from newbs that don't know how to fix what they just did.
This has been brought up a few times and to be honest with all the possible issues that could come across from OTA updates like flashing a bad file cause you lost connection for a split sec and didn't notice, I wouldn't use it. The first att OTA update proved this. Thousands of bricks, then it was released by Kris update. Alot less bricks.
Sorry if these questions sound dumb, I'm coming from and HTC one M8 and when i owned it everything was already rooted and many ROMs out so it was fairly easy to gain information about that phone. I now have my phone rooted using PingPongRoot, does this mean I am now able to install custom recovery and get a custom ROM installed or is there something we're still waiting for with the at&t version?
No. We need an unlocked bootloader. Thank AT&T for that.

If you are a senior member, then you should know that questions belong in the Q&A section. Development is for development posts, not questions. This needs to be moved to said section.
Yes, absolutely, we can install touch wiz based roms, ala the att s5. We just need an interested developer. Anything non touch wiz requires a different kernel, which e cannot change due to the locked boot loader. I suspect since safestrap is dead, we'll have to use Flashfire. I've tried a couple roms from the general section already, but I couldn't get them to boot past the welcome sound.

Why is that? The lg g3 could run Optimus UI and CyanogenMod without an unlocked bootloader.

More than dumb. Posted the question in the General section under the thread titled: "Dump S6 AT&T stock ROM" started by gjimenez, post #25, and 4 minutes later started this new topic in the wrong section, with a copy & paste of that post, not following the forum rules. What a senior member!!!
You're all correct, I'll delete this thread, as it is in the wrong section. How do I remove this thread?
I think only a mod can delete it.

Use the flow chart from post #2 in this thread to identify the correct framework for your device (links to the corresponding threads are given below the flow chart). Download the framework from its corresponding thread, download the xposed_installer_alphaX.apk (where X is the current version number) from here and put both files on your SD card. The installation process is described in the first post of each thread.
i will do this process than it show signature verification failed

What custom recovery do you use? TWRP is the recommended one, as other recoveries have the "signature verification" issue you are facing. Use TWRP instead.
we use CWM recovery mode

It's quite easy: open Google (or any search engine you like) and type in:
your-device-name TWRP
If there is no TWRP available for your device, there is no way for you to get Xposed working at the moment.
My recommendation for you: don't flash Xposed, as you are clearly not able to research/solve the easiest things by your own. Xposed is for advanced users.

Your behaviour is so disrespectful for everyone who is trying to help you. We do not owe you something, we do this for free. You think you can come to XDA and demand free help from everyone without contributing the smallest amount of willingness to do it by yourself like the majority here? If you aren't willing to learn (at least something about respect), then delete your account and never come back here. This is no place where you come to and demand things by others. This is a place for developers, not for some little kids who want cool stuff or cool phones. Don't like it? Well, too bad, that's none of my business.
You have no solution

Developers are not Gods.
The developers are not your slaves. You aren't paying them anything. They are not obliged to pander to you.
If you can't even have the smallest amount of humility in asking for help, then go away and don't come back.

"The question is human; the answer, all too human. " from Paul Valery - French writer and poet
For the sake of information, it's a good idea to post a question, but it's even better to ask the question in the post and not in the title.
The title should be precise and concise, and it will be perfect for your next post.

Thank you I actually managed to unbrick my redmi 9a phone today, which was the original question I was trying to ask, I am trying to install a custom rom (lineageos) and I tried so many unofficial twrp images until one of them got stuck in the logo screen and I couldn't go to the fastboot screen or the regular os
now that I figured out how to unbrick the device I would like to ask if there is a way to install a custom rom without twrp as I can't seem to get a version that works (the closest I have got is the twrp menu but the touch screen doesn't work)
