No. I have the Samsung unlocked Canada variant and it does not have the FM radio chip.

I'm in the US and want to buy an unlocked, international version of the I-9000, probably from Singapore, probably on AT&T.
Will Samsung release "generic," non-carrier specific ROMS? Or will that be all from the excellent developer community?
I'm hoping it would still do high-speed 3G because it covers some of AT&T's 3G bands???
Thanks!
Eh. You cant get a international version in usa. If you get one from singapore it will be international ver. It will have problems on at&t as they use 850/1900 mhz for 3g while international ver uses 900/2100mhz. Before you buy a device please make sure the 3G radio will work with your telco. If you are in usa then buy one from the telco you will be using as it will be set up right. But for rest of world we can get away with standard international gsm ver

Yes, you can. But you have to wait until January/February 2011, when Telstra in Australia releases the HD7 that will be compatible with Rogers Network in Canada. That is, if you are looking for a GSM version of the phone that will work for Rogers.
Hi,
I have a spare sgs i9000 (bell vibrant) fully functional. My friend would like to use it, however his carrier is Videotron who uses the 1700/2100 frequencies.
My questions is the following: is it physically possible to put the t-mobile vibrant's antenna (which is also 1700/2100) into the i9000?
If i manage to put the t-mobile antenna into my bell phone (I assume I also need to swap the antena module??) will it work with videotron?
I hope someone can help!
Thanks in advance
i was asking the same question before
it is technically possible
***bump***
It is not possible. Each frequency being used requires its own chip (power amplifier). If the phone does not have the hardware (chips) to support a particular frequency, there is no possible way it can support said frequency.
Its a hardware limitation which requires more than simply swapping an antenna.
Mind you, newer chips will probably come out in the future that will support multiple bands in one package. The next Gen qualcomm dual core snapdragon supposedly supports both CDMA and GSM 3G bands for example.

Ok so we got a different version in canada aparently. The I717, not the 7000.
seeing the specs listed here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_i717-4374.php
and
https://negrielectronics.com/samsung-sgh-i717-galaxy-note-hd-unlocked-black.html
these phones should support the AWS frequencies of T-Mobile, Mobilicity, and Wind correct?
What I have read on the Galaxy Skyrocket forums is that people were able to get the Skyrocket working on Tmobiles 3g/4g network by just flashing a Tmobile radio. The ATT Galaxy Note uses the same Radio and snapdragon processor so I would assume it would be the same process.
