stock 4.3 or vanir 5.1

I want to know too, I'm using temasek but thinking in switch to another rom

Looks like AICP is running away with this

vanir is not good for gaming bcz im too using it and assasian creed pirates lag so much in this and domination too lags
even games like hitman sniper also lags:angel::angel::angel:

vanir or AICP is the best maybe in the 5.1 ROMs....but in all ROMs i think the 4.3 is the best for gaming

I think 4.3 rom much stable than the lolipop rom especially big games.

no, omni rom 4.4 ported from zperia z was the best rom for gaming i am using it from some days and all games which i play on this like mc5 , rr3 , xcom , assassian creed pirates , dominations and the morden combat and they all work jst osm

Definitely. That ROM is way too underappreciated. It is by far the smoothest ROM around.

you can play telltale games like game of thrones, the walking dead and other heavy games without force close?

In my opinion CM12.1.
Sometimes builds was unstable(but is fixed very fast), but ROM is very fast and smooth. In Antutu I have 30k points, in games like WoT or MC5 I can play without any lags.

All heavy games (Including telltale ones) run without a hitch. I'm playing wolf among us atm and it's working flawlessly. Better than it did on stock.

it is really awessome and is in another level, I have 510mb free ram without installing app and after installing my usual apps I have 440mb free, this is just miraculous!!! :highfive:

Best Gaming ROM

hello everyone.
im new in here, and i wanna ask a few question
which MI5 ROM is better for gaming purpose?
stable version and not rooted prefered
i wanna use for play WoT Blitz
and one more, its better battery life. maybe can take 4-5 hours for full playing game.

U will not 4hr for gaming u may get 3 or less
I have some roms i think overall los is better for battery life

yup. but i mean that for 1 charge full. its mean if i play 1 hour, i can play 3-4

U will not get 4 - 5 hours for mi 5 rom, im already try many cust rom for gaming ... Its depend on situation .... Higher graphic will consume more battery .. And also for online games ... Network will consume too... So u will not get 4 hours or more with 3000 mah battery for gaming

lineage os build 6 feb 2018 that rom was very nice for battery life ... And also thermal control very good while playing games will not overheat ur device

Better Gaming does not goes in hand with Battery life
Anyways, speaking in performance terms only, none of the Oreo roms atm since they are a bit slower than Nougat roms for some reason, probably aospa is good for gaming

Stay clear of oreo roms. Los nougat is the oly decent one for gaming. I don't know if any other nougat roms get you better performance but oreo roms definitely don't

i have tried many roms,, but for mi5 (mine is prime 3/32), i use viper os nougat + soda kernel b1.2.1 or you can use RR nougat too with soda b1.2.1 too,, it can handle many games.

I Recommend you ViperOS Nougat with a Custom Kernel

I'm sticking with final build ViperOS + soda kernel b1.2.1. The game plays relatively smoothly with graphics on hdr and ultra fps. I don't know how it compares to cosmic oreo though.

and few of offline games
but I've tried and feel satisfied with RR oreo darkness

is it stable because last time i checked RR oreo rom it had serious battery drains and google camera was also not working

this is the darkness version, not the official one

Do u have frame drops on lineage? (With high graphics)

I found that it's quite important not to charge the phone at the same time and to remove the cover if you have any so that the phone can cool down better.

The latest MIUI10 based roms provide some great improvements on games performance.
Xiaomi.eu, MIUI MS and Masik U1.6 are nice light versions based on china firmware!

Buggy/laggy in-game sounds on oreo roms

Is there any way to fix the buggy/laggy sounds inside games? Are there workarounds or roms not affected by that problem?

Which game you are playing? Currently I just now switched to DOT OS 2.5 Oreo 8.1.
If you wish I can try particular game that you are having issue with because I did not have in game sound issue except for pubg mobile.
If you are having issue with pubg mobile then you are not alone it happens with me too.
I think It's a bug from their end and I hope they fix it soon in future update if it so.
Sometime the I can't even able to hear sound unless and until I restart the game.

Is it true that DOT OS has great battery back up? I've been wanting to use Dot OS, but i really haven't tried it because i've been spoiled to the customization that Havoc OS has.

DOT OS has good battery backup i get around 8 hours of SOT on my Redmi 4X.
on Mobile data( 4G ) it down to 4 or 5 hours of SOT which is quite normal.
while playing PUBG mobile device with WIFI do get warm but does not lags(or at least i have not yet experienced) with mobile data heat increases.
i don't know but i haven't got any rom that doesn't heat or give at least moderate warm except for MIUI 9 and 10 Global beta builds which i no longer use.
DOT OS has good customizations but HAVOC OS has taken that to next level. there are some features you'll find in HAVOC OS but not in DOT OS.
nevertheless both are great ROMs out there for Redmi 4X i've chosen DOT OS for one important reason that while on DOT OS my Redmi 4X heat up so much than regular, i did like the HAVOC OS and want to use it but both OREO and PIE builds giving same issue which keeping me away from it.

Ahh, the heating issue while charging device.
The device gets heat up even battery area too which is concerning for me.
I haven't rooted with DOT OS 2.5 currently because there's no need of root for now for me.
It should have work on DOT OS 2.5. Maybe try downloading latest stable or beta build again and flash again.

Low Mic volume on all custom roms

I'm facing this issue on all custom ROMs, when I play PUBG my Mic volume is very low for my teammates to hear. Is there any fix for that I searched a lot but none of the methods work for newer versions of android.

Did you find a solution? I'm facing a low input audio problem on all videos, official ROM.

I get low volume on stock India and EEA rom. Which is a bummer after I had such nice video on my previous Samsung.

i have stopped using custom rom for only this reason, because i play pubg on regular basis.
i am now using miui12 closed beta with candy karnel.

Actually pubg is lot better than miui 11. May be it's because of the candy karnel.

Do you notice some annoyances or bugs compared to MIUI 11? How's battery life?
I'm on MIUI 11 Stable EU with latest Candy kernel and I get at most 24 hrs of standby with about 6 hrs SOT.

can't actually comment on battery life, because this is lockdown time. i am always home, i play games, charge my phone, play games with charging on. now battery life is not an issue. but surely its not bad.
