You don't. Not sure what you want to "mod" but just about everything not available on the market, and possibly everything seen here requires root. It's not hard, just do it.
I just want to be able to do all these gorgeous things http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=519
Download the .zip file, place it into your SD card, reboot into recovery mode (phone needs to be rooted by the way) by holding the HOME key and POWER key, select aaply sdcard:choose zip, select the .zip you just downloaded.

Have to root. Like I said most things in this forum require root. Best thing you can do if you have one of these. Even my wife was able to root hers.

Hahaha..not like..but to many post make my mind blurrr on focusing...anyway thanks...will look for it
well... anyway... i know what you mean. blur at some point back then. but its necessary for you to know what you are going to do and what will come next before you mess up your phone. At the end of the day, you'll find out its a simple thing. if you meet any problem. state it here. if i'm around i'll see what i can do. else someone else will provide you some help if they're interested. ^^
you can start with what version of firmware you have and Hboot version from the boot loader. power off your phone than hold vol- and power button. read the green words on top of the screen. this might clear a lot of things
lol.... no wonder your name was so familiar... i was looking for some hack for x10 mini few weeks ago and your name was there.

That is the problem. You want to do things that you don't fully understand. Anytime you try to flash something there is a chance it will brick a device, no matter how many others haven't had that problem.
Read up on it and if you feel comfortable then do it.
And it is "know not no"

That's what i meant. Several experienced users hard bricked their phones. You no what I mean?
know verb (used with object), knew, known, know·ing.
1. to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty: I know the situation fully.
2. to have established or fixed in the mind or memory: to know a poem by heart; Do you know the way to the park from here?
3. to be cognizant or aware of: I know it.
4. be acquainted with (a thing, place, person, etc.), as by sight, experience, or report: to know the mayor.
5. to understand from experience or attainment (usually followed by how before an infinitive): to know how to make gingerbread.
no
1. (a negative used to express dissent, denial, or refusal, as in response to a question or request)
2. (used to emphasize or introduce a negative statement): Not a single person came to the party, no, not a one.
3. not in any degree or manner; not at all (used with a comparative): He is no better.
4. not a (used before an adjective to convey the opposite of the adjective's meaning): His recovery was no small miracle.

First go here http://www.grammar-monster.com/easily_confused/than_then.htm THEN go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740247
and read the entire thread for your own sake. Open the app then click install CWM. If it was successful then you should have a custom recovery.

How about this... since you seem to be unable to read and search and learn for yourself, just box up your phone, send it to someone like Gotroot, Koush, or any of the other devs and ask them to do it for you...
OR.... you could bop over to the development section and freaking READ FOR YOURSELF and find out what is available.....

Well I hit my 8 thanks for the day, but thank you. I couldn't remember that name for the life of me...guess it's time to watch it on my free netflix. Just another reason the Flex was a great buy.
Hello everyone,
I've been pondering over some project to divert my time on and well recently I've begun to notice the somewhat unorganized mess XDA has become. So I thought of the fabulous idea of creating a new website made strictly for ROMs, Kernels, Rooting, & Unlocking Bootloaders. The website would have separate sections for each device, then differing versions of the device, then for android version, and then finally for type of development. For example AT&T Galaxy S3 CM12 rom would be found under Galaxy S3>AT&T>Lollipop>Roms>Cyanogenmod 12.
Get it? Super organized, super easy to find things.
What do you guys think? Is this something worth investing my time in? Or should I just give u on this little project? Be brutally honest please. After all there is no point on building a website that nobody will ever use.
More steps but easier finds. Nice.
Sounds good, especially if you can get support from xda.
CyanogenMod 11 listed under jellybean ROMs?
Your biggest issue is people dont really leave xda. Developer wise most are keen to stay here because support and friends are here i imagine. Also logistically trying to support even half the phones xda does and have it so organised into just what the phones are compatible with, along with paired Q&A + general threads would be immensely time consuming and would require more than a few people to keep up with the flow. Not even considering user mistakes with roms added in the wrong forum. While it would be a good idea i wouldnt attempt it. The mods are always willing to listen to new ideas to help keep the forums tidy though. Maybe try help out closer to home?

One second, while I find the pages for these phones. Glad you're enjoying XDA
Found some! (There is no Nokia 500 page )
Lima: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/motorola-one-macro-root-tutorial.4061731/post-84600075

more rooting
Rooting does include its own risk, for example I completely bricked my device once. So, if you don't wanna risk it, don't root it. Any other phones you know?
