Hi all,
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my old Sony Xperia XZ2, which I bought from my mobile carrier in Peru, following the steps in the Sony Developer World page. It worked as expected, the bootloader was unlocked. However, when I installed another ROM to have Android 10, I saw the annoying message others have reported (here and here), "Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader".
I have read that the DRM keys should be backed up before doing this process, which are related to the Sony features, I don't care about losing those at this point. Is there a way to relock the bootloader again?
I already tried fastboot oem lock and fastboot flashing lock with no avail, the message returned is FAILED (remote: unknown command).
Flashtool BLU option doesn't work either. When trying to run it, it shows the message "ERROR - Cannot invoke "String.split(String)" because the return value of "java.util.Properties.getProperty(String)" is null", which leads me to think it's trying to read a string from somewhere but it doesn't exist.
I've already flashed the original stock ROM from my carrier but all the commands I tried above return the same failure.
I've also found this tutorial that applies for the Xperia XZ1 Compact and says that unlocking the bootloader is not a reversible process. Is that true for the Xperia XZ2 as well?
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Best regards,
Jorge

Hello guys. New guy here with an Xperia Z Ultra phone.
I'm trying to load the Paranoid Android custom ROM.
Had a couple of questions:
1. I went thru Sony's instructions to unlock the bootloader. When I ran the fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock (e-mail code), the first error message I got was "FAILED - Remote - Command did not succeed". So I tried the exact command again, and then I got "FAILED - Remote: The device is already rooted".
I have searched high and low, and cannot seem to find any way to verify that the bootloader is now in fact unlocked.
2. Reading the instruction on how to install CWM/TWRP recovery menus, Every single list of instructions includes the following "This tutorial is only for Sony Xperia Z Ultra with 510 and 493 LTE firmware. Do not use it for any other carriers or variants"
Again, I have searched high and low to find a way to confirm what firmware version I have. All I know is I have the C6806 model, with the build number: 14.2.A.0.290
So can someone please help out a very confused guy here? I don't want to brick my phone by accident
So far it's still working ok

So does that mean I can't install CWM/TWRP on my phone?

i don't know have you thought about posting in the z ultra forum rather than the z forum?
Hi,
Some time ago I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device. Didn't know it was possible to root without unlocking the bootloader (yes, i'm quite new to rooting etc.). Now my phone has a defective headphone-jack and I need to send it on repair. Anyone know how to re-lock the bootloader so I still have the warranty?
Currently running sLIM 4.8 by Wajk.
Use flashtool
Thanks, but it says on Sony's website that the phone stays unlocked even after using flash tool?
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Never done it in Sony phone but most of HTC, Nexus and few other brands I'm locking just with this command.
Hiya! I was in the process of unlocking my bootloader. I flashed a 28.0.A.8.266_R12A_Hong King Generic rom and on the process of fastbooting to unlock the bootloader. I have tried both methods for the command prompt as well as using the flashtool versions 0.9.19 and 0.9.23, to no avail. I've already acquired my key from sony, and respectively replaced the usb driver file indicated to be replaced, disabled my xperia and did the appropriate steps and it says:
FAILED <remote:Command not allowed>
I have already checked with the configuration wherein the rooting status indicates that Bootloader unlock allowed:Yes
I have been scouring the whole day for any plausible solution, right now I have flashed a 6.0.1 and have lost my capabilities of connecting to my mobile internet for some apparent reason and my network/signal has become mundane. Which my case is very similar to the gentleman that posted this Link
Any plausible assistance or solution would be very welcome and very much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
On another note, I was wondering if the region of the firmware affects any of the configuration of the signal acquisition or what not, it has been very disheartening to lose my mobile network. But then again thank you very much for any insight whatsover.
EDIT: Solve - Please take down if necessary
Updated to latest firmware in Nougat. It currently has an enable oem to unlock bootloader in developer options. Tick that off then try unlocking bootloader again once all initial conditions are met.
[E6533] Boot Loader Unlock: FAILED <remote:Command not allowed
try this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkl9UyrQKSo
try to disable driver check signature
use the lastest update of flashtool

Hiya all!
Thanks for responses! I've actually resolved it for the e6533. I've updated to the latest firmware via the xperia companion and then in the developer options they have a new option which is unlock oem which permitted me to unlock bootloader through fastboot. Thank you again for the ideas!
good afternoon, I have a problem with my xperia z1 c6903 when unlocking the bootloader I get a message that says your phone can not be officially unlocked that I should thank.
Apparently Sony has blocked the ability to unlock the bootloader on certain devices.
This is most likely the case if you got your phone from your carrier. Do you have a branded Z1?
You can also look up if this is the case by doing the following:
1. Open dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Go to Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status.
3. "Bootloader unlock allowed" should say Yes
If it doesn't, then at least the official way of unlocking your device won't work.
Any "not official" way to unlock the bootloader? Mine is locked too and i want to install something new in that old one. Thanks in advance.
Mine says not posible but i read somewere that can be done
That's the thing, is an old smartphone today, i don't understand why only certains models can be unlocked. Now im on last oficial os (5.1.1). I get it root but i cant unlock the bootloader in any way.

hi is there any unofficial way to unlock it, i want to have freedom on choosing what rom to install, i'm having difficulties on finding a rom that works on the stock kernel. can you help?
Hello
I'm trying to Relock bootloader after it has been unlock with fastboot oem unlock command, and it seems an impossible mission.... I've downgraded to stock version thru EMMA FlashTool (Android 9).
The command I use is: fastboot oem lock and I get the following error:
FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Also tried thru sony mobile flasher by androxyde (Pressed BLU button):
Cannot invoke "String.split(String)" because the return value of "java.util.Properties.getProperty(String)" is null
Any suggestion anyone??
It's not possible to relock the bootloader of the XZ1C. It's a one-way operation. All of the threads giving information on how unlock mention this fact, as (I believe) does the Sony unlock pages.
Thus why you're getting an unknown command ... because there's no such action supported.
If I use stock ROM (Not custom) from Xperifirm, it can happend?
No ... it has nothing to do with the ROM that you're using, it's in the bootloader. Probably an e-fuse.
You can't re-lock it. Full stop. No caveats.
Ohhh
So no way to Relock the bootloader then?? I saw that many phone can....
Yes, some phones can. But definitely not all.
This is one of the ones that cannot.
I've installed kernel-G8441-47.2.A.11.228-hideunlock.zip and it works great!
One thing I can't pass - Google Wallet (Pay)
I didn't root my device, only unlocked the bootloader.
Any advice?
