Hello,
I've been happy Mi 11 Ultra user since the release. Didn't drop it even once.
Yesterday I noticed loud rattle noise coming from the phone.
When I shake it side to side it sounds like one item being loose.
When I rotate it... it sounds like multiple items.
I tried running camera app so that OIS was active but it made no noticeable difference.
Should I be worried?
It doesn't sound premium and definately didn't happen when new.
Open it up and see what broke.
If you do it yourself have the tools, OEM seals needed to reseal it and the skills to do it successfully.

Definately not gonna open phone that is still on warranty.
Was wondering if anyone noticed something? Maybe not that loud but still?
It should be the OIS. When I shake my phone to the side or even forwards/backwards or any other direction, I also hear a rattling noise as if there's at least 2-3 things loose inside my phone. It's happened since day one of owning the phone.

Yeah its completely normal
That's normal for lenses with OIS, there are a lot of moving elements.

And by the way it's not normal.
I have it since 1 day.and last few months I never hear it.
Tommorow they gonna repair it
yep same here. it's the ois, this phone has 3 ois. and a large camera sensor.
same with my s21ultra
no shaking on mi x3 pro though, i wonder why
I also noticed a week ago, but I don't think that was doing that at day one...
It's not an issue, the only thing is that I can't understand why I didn't hear before or was silent
Just open the camera app.
Zoom in 10x and you will notice the rattle is nearly gone. (depends on how you shake )
It's normal and nothing to worry about.
Even my iPhone 12 Pro does this..

I got my X1 silver back from repair yesterday. I noticed that I have a rattle inside the phone and it sound like it comes from the top area.
I did not have this rattle prior to any of the repairs.
YES, I've had it repaired for crack in the batterycompartment near volume buttons twice!!!
I went back to the repairshop and they said, after disassembling it that it's the camera that rattles and there's nothing they can do about it.
They thought that it might be this way because of the new part.
I asked if they could cushion the camera in anyway so it doesn't rattle, but no..
My question is:
Did your phone rattle after you got it back from the repairshop?
Download a sample of how the rattle sounds when I very gently tap the top part of the phone to my mousepad.
my phone has rattle even with no cracks ;/

I showed a X1 agent how my X1 sounds after repair and before he had heard the rattle he also claimed it was the wheels, but after he said "That sound is not the wheels". He told me to contact the repairshop and the guy at the repairshop said he would get back to me after speaking with the X1 agent.
It's the auto-focus mechanism of the camera. All Xperias make this sound.

the results so far are quite disturbing
i started getting the rattling sound even though im quite careful with the damn thing.

In my particular case it's not the autofocus that rattles.
The X1 agent said that it isn't supposed to make that sound that mine does.
Does your rattle sound anything like mine?
It's a very tinny high-pitched rattling, the type made by something very small. It also isn't very loud, I have to listen carefully and do it with my right hand. If I use my left, my watch rattles more loudly.

is it just me, or is the phone main selling point the ruggedized case? because the ads don't mention the fact at all that it's running on an 800mhz proc, 2.2 froyo.
i don't own the phone, just feel like the ads make it out like a....they focus mainly on the ruggedized of it. not that it's bad, it's just a different advertising campaign for a phone, and verizon probably isn't funding the ads. (because it's a mid-range device)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XejMy7DYacc
anyway, just a random blurb from me.
aside from that, didn't think casio could pull off a phone, don't they mainly make wrist watches?
Can't say I even know them for that,
I only know them for calculators :/
Anyway, this phone of thiers doesn't look particularly interesting.

no, there's another one where they strapped it to the back axel of a rally car and went around with it, came back at the end of the ad, thing was covered in mud, miracoiusly it still worked, yeah, who would want to do that to a phone?
i know it's meant for working in a tough field, but, the ad campaign is a little over the top, no?
and ias i said mid-range, highest it captures in video is crappy 360p
and as far as ruggedness, buy a freaking otterbox case, because that's pretty much what this phone's shell is.
Casio Commando is fun.
I was watching a Ken Block, insane Gymkhana video, under water with my Casio Commando, in a creek at Brevard College, in Brevard North Carolina. The water temperature was ice cold on July 4th, 2011. You have to make sure all doors on the phone are closed so you will not damage the phone. The screen is very sensitive to the temperature of the water. The water will actually control the phone because the phone thinks the water is your fingers. So is takes practice to enter the phone into the water without stopping the video.
Check out my video on YouTube at Casio Commando Underwater.
To record videos underwater with the Casio Commando, you have to
1) call someone and stay on the call
2) start the camcorder recording
3) tap the power button to turn off the screen. The phone thinks the water is your fingers and
the water will control your phone to do weird things such as stop recording. The sound of the speakers on the phone gets clogged with water so it does not sound good until the water drains out of the speakers. I blow on the different doors and holes on the phone to clear the water so I can hear the speakers. I wait on the phone to dry
completely before charging again or opening the doors for any reason.
I would like for someone to create a new rom for the Casio Commando.
No.

I do own a Droid X activated, a BlackBerry activated, and a Casio Commando on Verizon/Vodafone. Need I say more. I am 48 years old.
Hello.
So recently got my replacement of note 5 due to screen issue.
This unit is perfect the only problem is my FFC is off centerd towards bottom left.
Its not blocking picture or anything.
Just getting ocd.
So guys should I care? If the ffc is off centerd?
Posting a pic might help.

Doesn't look like its a major thing. You should take it to a Samsung Repair Center... They should be able to fix and give it back.
Well actually its not blocking pictures in anyway.. So debating should i take it for repair or not.

My S3 had a similar problem, but for the back camera. They fixed it in half hour. That's why I suggested taking it repair center.
Oh ya! Rear is actually easier to fix.. For front they will need to replace the screen or. The whole unit. Thats why debaiting.

my note 5 looks the same. it seems like the lens they are using causes it to look like off centered. Don't worry about it. Better that then them trying to dissemble the whole phone for one camera that has no defect.

As the camera is working perfectly fine. It will be horrundus to sent the phone for repair. Just now I have to try controlling my damm ocd.
OCD stinks! Thanks for making me check mine. It is slightly off. Nothing to worry about. My Lumia 1520 rear camera was way off and I never had an issue. It should be fine as long as there is no vignette. ?

It probably won't make difference unless your phone is pointing at an extreme angle to the sun to cause adverse vignette shading. I liken it to that micro scratch on the screen you never noticed until that one day when the sun hit it just right. Now you can't take your eyes off it...LOL!
Well, if it's a $50 phone I wouldn't care but for me it's a $1000+ phone so yeah they can fix/replace it until I get what I paid for....a premium phone.

Been using my 3T for two days now. Haven't sold my 6S, though the plan was to use the funds I would've got from that to cover the cost of the 3T.
The reason being is I'm having a few doubts. I'm no stranger to Android, as the majority of my smartphone's have been Android, and the first iPhone I bought was in January 2015.
I don't particularly miss any of the iOS features such as iMessage and Facetime, as WhatsApp pretty much covers those, 3D Touch was quite handy but this has gestures instead.
My issues are, I guess, the camera; OIS, mic quality, security, Android Pay.
Camera wise, on paper the 3T is better than my 6S without OIS, but so far it struggles to take pictures without some form of motion blur. Recording, the mic isn't as good either. Also read reports of the camera hump falling off, at least on the 3.
I'm also a little concerned with security, I've had way more pop ups / apps being forced on me in the past two days, than I would have using the iPhone for the same amount of time. Though I heard Nougat is as secure as iOS now?
Oh and I can't get Android Pay to work. Well I managed it by accident, held the phone on the same way as I normally works with the 6S, and nothing. Ended up waving the phone around whilst unlocked until it registered.
Not sure if am looking for faults because Apple have sold their products and OS on me, or if the 6S just is a better device...
... though it can't compete with the 3T's screen, Dash charge, fast fingerprint scanner and battery life.
Miss my Autodesk Graphic app though
Need convincing I've made the right choice, thanks guys
I got my OP3T a couple days ago and I love it.
First off, there is no such thing as a perfect phone, but this one comes pretty close.
Camera - From my testing with the camer on my phone, I think that the main camera is VERY sensitive to motion. YOu need a steady hand to take good pics. However the front facing camera is really good and pics don't come out distorted at all. I think reall all you need is to find a camera app with good stabilization and you will be good.
Microphone - don't really use this, but I don't think it's a problem. I know phone quality is really good and clear for me. There are apps and mods that can probably help out with tweaking the mic
Security - just like anything, with time anything can be hacked. Keep in mind that oneplus 3T is a dev friendly phone. Most other phone manufacturers cringe on letting users modify their phone. Certainly Apple is very much opposed to that as well. Now your popup issue might be something else. There are a lot of popup blockers you can use. I use and recommend Ad Guard pro. It blocks ads and popups in browsers and in apps.
Here is what it comes down to... Do you use your phone more for pictures and video or pretty much anything else? If it's the later, than honestly you can go wrong with the OP3T. If you use it for photos and videos more, then maybe you can research some apps to see if there is anything out there that is worth using to make better pics.
It's funny because I bought a 64gb iPhone 6S plus today to resell and honestly it feels ancient compared to my 3t .
I have natural steady hands..

Not the best photo obviously lol but it can take great pictures. Any good photographer can take a picture with anything and make it look amazing, camera is sensitive to motion but software update can fix this. No problems with video it looks and sounds very clear not o mention videos are very steady.

The NFC sensor is behind the camera. I used it for a purchase 2 hours ago and it was fine. You just have to hold the camera up to the sensor for a few seconds and it should work. You don't even need to open the app. Just need to unlock your phone and have NFC on.
Hope you keep the device
I purchased a Redmi Note 10s for about now 2 months. I understand it is a budget device, but I am trying to see if anyone who is more knowledgeable on Android than me knows what may be occurring here. Yes, I have tried to Google the solution but to no avail. I'm sorry.
The device works fine overall, but the other day I started the camera app and I noticed there is a line at the top of the frame when in any mode other than 1:1.
If I place the camera in a 1:1 ratio, there is no line (since it shortens the top), anything else there is this stuck annoying line at the top. Now, what is peculiar is that when using the stock camera app, and we go video, the line at the top moves according to how I move the device around, it is not stuck. Also, I noticed the line at the top changes color, depending on background and weirdest thing of all.. it applied this line to all my pictures that I took PRIOR to this issue occurring.
Also, I tried gcam and other camera apps. In photo mode, same story, line at the top is stuck, but when we go video on these other apps, the line now does not "move" like in the stock camera app but is also stuck in video mode as well.
Now, its either hardware or software I know. I have not done a total reset yet but may later on but since I got a bunch of logins and apps downloaded and what not, I wonder if anyone knows a solution about this issue.
Hardware: Impossible unless the build is this bad for Xiaomi Redmi devices. I never smacked the device, it never fell nor has any liquid damage. I babied it since day 1.
Software: I think it could likely be more a software issue than hardware but pls enlighten me why and how to fix.
Thank you,
Does it happen using every lens or just one lens? What you describe sounds like some sort of spirit levelling/guide lines, although they shouldn't be present on a saved image, unless some option is enabled to do so. Try resetting the app, just write down settings you want to remember first.
I recommend trying the gcam port app instead of the stock one too, much better images.
Post a sample photo and screenshot demonstrating the glitch.

It is happening only with the main lens, not the others.
I went ahead and wiped data. Issue persist unfortunately.
When I point the camera towards a bright light, you can see the top line becoming blue and part of it disappearing.
Will post images soon to give you a better idea.
Yes I did try other apps such as gcam. Same issue.

From the looks of it, it seems like you have a faulty sensor. Just have your phone replaced from where you bought it.
Agreed with jacobpayag, looks like an RMA job, for a faulty sensor.
I bought it from wirelessplace, and I am unable to return or exchange unfortunately since it has been over 30 days. I emailed them but.. I doubt they will do anything. I guess I will keep it as is. No Xiaomi CS in the USA, I do not believe I can RMA this device. Please advise.
Thank you,
Sorry I can't help you with consumer rights laws in the USA. I'd be surprised if you couldn't have it repaired or replaced within 12 months from purchase though.

Just called them and they only RMA devices sold within the USA, which does not include mobile phones or smartwatches.
I mean I'll keep the phone, its overall a great device and I am not huge on photos or anything but still.. to have a defect after 2 months? Not giving me much faith in their QC for future purchases.

That's why I still prefer buying phones physically. Also, you could try to repair the device yourself. I think you can buy the camera module online and AFAIK, you can replace each individual camera instead of having all 4 replaced.
You'll lose any waterproofing if you do open it up, it looks like a real chore to get started but here's a vid in case do:
