huawei freebuds 3i don't work well on mi9 - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Guys help please!
I have mi9 global version 12.0.5.
Android 10.
I bought Huawei freebuds 3i. So, whenever I am connecting the buds to my phone and listening to music, and receive a phone call i cant use them for the call. The only case is to put them back in the case and repair then with phone again. I tried my friend's same buds, they work for him but not with me. We tried them on Samsung phone they also worked well. On Samsung and huawei phones they work but on my mi9 they dont

AA not showing incoming and outgoing calls

Hello,
Today I installed the SONY XAV-AX100. Super. Everything works quite smoothly. I just have a problem with calling through android car. If someone calls me or call me and I connected via android car, so the call does not appear on the radio display only phone which is useless
Some idea?
My phone is Huawei P10 with Android 7
Hi, did you find a fix? my Mate 9 is doing the same.
Looks like this is a common problem with Huawei phones. I have this problem with my Mate 10 Pro. You need to force close the EMUI dialler before connecting your phone to the head unit
This is indeed a common problem. You need to replace the stock dialer to make it work.
- install this apk

- set as default dialer
This fix works with my Mate 10 Pro

Compatibility with Android Auto

Is there someone who could test the compatibility of the P20 Pro extensively with Android Auto? I suspect the general incompatibility (waze, Google music, in call screen,...) of the Mate 10 Pro is still not solved and till now not one review pays attention to this glaring issue. Curious if Huawei has solved this problem with this new phone.

Interesting. I'll listen here before buying, because I use Android Auto quite a bit, so if it doesn't work it's a no go for me.
Unfortunately the first feedback reports the same incompatibility as with the Mate 10 Pro.

I'm having issues connecting the phone to the head unit now with the android 8.1. It is telling me that there is a error code of communication error 6
This is diabolical, for such a basic functionality!!!
I am awaiting delivery of my P20 Pro, and was literally 5 minutes away from ordering an Android Auto headunit!
You have just saved me a lot of money... thanks!
Hopefully more people on here will be able to test.
For me, the only thing that doesn't work is Play Music. The progress bar moves but there's no sound. BBC iPlayer Radio and TuneIn Radio both work fine. No problems with Maps and phone.
It's poor at best, if you get it working leave it and don't touch anything.
Had a trip in partners Ford Focus - Sync 3 head unit, works fine with Pixel 2XL/XZ1 Compact but this just either didn't want to play anything or when attempting to read a message would give the error "voice commands not available at the moment" same when attempting to use voice commands as well. Once I did get it playing music and maps I just left it as I didn't want to break anything but still no voice commands available.
Looks like Google will be making Android Auto fully compatible with the P20 Pro. Looks like our phone is a big enough launch from Huawei to attract attention from them.

I'm using a P20 Pro. I have been using android auto in my golf now and everything seems to work fine. The only issues I am having are that I can make calls, but I can't see the phone call on the screen which means I have to use the steering wheel to hangup. When someone rings me I can't see it on my. Infotainment screen. Also can't see all of my contacts. Only my most recent. Hopefully there is a fix coming for this

Just received my P20 Pro yesterday, and just like my all previous Huawei phones (P9, P10, Mate 10 Pro) - it works with AA fine enough (only issue - call screen is not being shown).
It's barely usable...
Well it's my first Huawei phone (coming from an S8) and I'm a big fan of AA probably because of Waze...
Here are my remarks:
- Google Maps works from time to time
- Waze doesn't work at all, I have a black screen
- and for the audio it's impossible to switch between the apps and there's no audio
So unless you're using Google Maps extensively, I don't see why you'd use the P20 Pro with AA.
For those who are thinking how it was with an S8, well it was kind of a all or nothing experience. I've had periods where the phone wouldn't connect to AA and suddenly start working again.
I have also noticed that the cable quality is very important.
Android auto working fine for me. Only issue is the phone charges very slowly when connected. My one plus used to charge much quicker when connected to car head unit
Hello I've P20 and vw sportvan, no map (waze or Google maps)... I've black screen. No sound when I want to use Google music... I hope Huawei make something to solve this....
I have AA in a Pioneer headunit, working with a P20 Pro, I get audio issues with Google Play Music, waze works fine...
Got a P20 Pro and Android auto is working perfect in my Volkswagen Passat GTE. Been using it daily and everything works fine for me including Waze and Spotify

Doesnt Work
Pioneer X8800BT headunit worked flawlessly with Sony Xperia Z5 Premium so it's not the headunit.
Waze worked for a hour or so with audio then this became a black screen. Google play music "plays" but no sound comes out. In the end I had to unplug the phone from headunit (which I paid good money for) and use the unit as a dumb bluetooth speaker while using Waze directly off the phone...
I think I'll be returning it and getting a Pixel 2 XL unless someone can give me hope that there is work being done to solve this? I don't want to root it just yet because my credit card / banking apps stop working.
Shame as it's an otherwise excellent phone - but this is a deal breaker for me.
From my point of view is essential to have a quality USB cable. Everything (Waze, Google maps, call screen) works seemly with original cable delivered with charger. With another cable work call screen only, Waze and Google maps shows black screen. With cheap USB cabel my mobil phone (Huawei P20 PRO) doesnt connect to car (Hyundai i30 2018).
yesterday an AA update hit the play store. anyone tried after that?

Yes, no substantial changes...

Is P20 Pro (or Huawei phones in general) only compatible with Huawei Type-c headsets?

I have a P20 Pro [CLT-AL00 build 10.0.0.159(C675E4R1P1)]. I tried using my brother's AKG type-c headset with it, which he got bundled with Samsung Galaxy S20. The AKG headset works fine with my P20 Pro. Music, videos, streaming, voice recording everything works fine. Except calling. It just doesn't work with calls. No sound in speaker, no voice going through mic. Is it deliberately done by Huawei? Could there be any workaround for this? I don't have any other type-c headset to check. Neither have any other phone to check the headset. Please someone shed some light on this issue.
I actually used the exact same setup (P20 Pro + AKG Type-C Samsung headphones from Note 10) and it worked fine for both music and calls. Although my phone is CLT-L29 C432.
EMUI does complain that those are not original Huawei headphones, but everything worked without any issues.

Good that you asked. It looks like they messed it up with EMUI 10. I got the OTA ~a week ago and didn't get to use the headphones for a call since then. Of course they don't work.
Tried with Huawei original Type-C and with 3.5mm+Type-C-to-3.5mm adapter - both worked, but not the Type-C AKG  ...
I have the 10.0.0.161 now, it was 9.1.0.387 before and worked.

Bluetooth microphone stopped working for everything except phone calls

Hi,
Since a few weeks I have a very annoying issue with my Note 9. The phone stopped using the microphone of a bluetooth device for all apps. It still uses the mic of BT for phone calls...
I have tested it with the following apps: Zoom , Teams, Skype and Whatsapp (voice). And also for recording video and the Samsung voicerecorder.
All of these apps worked perfect until a few weeks ago.
I have tested to following devices: my Sony MX1000 headphone, an old Jabra earset, a new JBL in-ear set and also my bluetooth carkit in the car.
All of these devices still work perfect with the phone of my wife.
And all of these devices use their microphones making phone calls.
Around the time it stopped working I started to use a Huawei GT2. So I installed their Health app. On the same day I recieved my JBL earphones. Not sure if that has anything to do with this issue.
I have done a factory reset twice. No luck...
The helpdesk of Samsung can't help. They advise to do a reset... Again...
It drives me totally crazy!
Is their anyone that can provide me some help?
Kind regards,
Peter
PS. I heard that Android 11 has a microphone switcher... Unfortunately the Note9 will never receive this version of Android.
same issue with my mi 10t pro,i think there is also some issue with your phone's mic

Galaxy s20 fe Bluetooth switching issue

Hi guys,
I have this wonderfull galaxy s20fe, huawei watch gt2 pro and kenwood car bt. issue.
Before this phone i had huaweu p30 and had no issue.
Everytime you call or get a call, you need to choose kenwood bt from tiny arrow and then you can talk on kenwood headset which is very dangerous.
I have tried many health app versions, tried to re-pair devices in different order and only time everyhing is working, is, when the watch is not connected.
I would like to retain ability of my watch to get and do calls( I know it can be turned off)
Do you mastermind's have any tryout or solution to this stupid but annoying problem?
Thank you in advance
