Question Carrier Aggregation not working - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi guys, I have the cn version of Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and I enabled 5g preferred in the settings, my friend with an iPhone gets better speeds than me, and we both use a sim from the same company, do you happen to know why he gets Carrier aggregation and I don't? I am also using Xiaomi EU stable custom rom, and it is very annoying that my phone is working slower, much help will be appreciated thank you very much!

The China model has these 5G bands:
5G :n1 / n3 / n28 / n41 / n77 / n78 / n79
Compare these bands with iPhone bands, maybe iPhone has more.

Band support is not everything, good compare Carrier Aggregation and Dual Connectivity combinations and check device support all used by your network.
You can check these via https://cacombos.com website.

Enable other LTE bands?

I was curious if it was possible to enable frequences not officially supported on the Mi 9. I did a quick search and found quite a bit of enabling additional bands on other phones( lg, samsung, moto) but see nothing for xiaomi and more specifically mi 9. I was hoping to enable band 71 600mhz for T-mobile USA. Has anyone attempted to turn on other LTE bands and was sucessful? Thanks!

Will the VZW S10 5G work with Spanish 5G bands?

Hello everybody!
I have bought an unlocked VZW S10 5G from the US and I'm using it in Spain with Movistar as a carrier.
I have a big permanent question on my mind and I can't seem to find a right answer to it anywhere on the web.
As far as I know, the modem this phone has is the Qualcomm X50 modem, which is supposed to be for both Sub6 and mmWave bands (https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-x50-5g-modem). Nevertheless, Samsung only lists mmWave frequencies on their specs page (see specs at the end of the page https://www.samsung.com/us/business/support/owners/product/galaxy-s10-5g-verizon/)
I know that here in Europe we are not deploying 5G the same way it has been done in the US, since the bands that are becoming available are Sub6.
Eventhough it's currently poorly deployed here in Spain, the only band that is available at the moment is the one at 3500 MHz (n78, I think). I've read they'll soon make the band at 700 MHz available, too.
When using the Samsung Selection app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection), I only see the bands n260 and n261, which I know are the available mmWave bands in the US, and the B bands that are used for 4G/LTE and previous.
My questions are the following:
1. Will I ever be able to connect to 5G through some LTE bands or won't that be possible?
2. Could it be that Verizon has disabled the sub6 bands for this phone via SW?
3. Could I use B bands at the same frequency instead? For example, the b42 band, which is also at 3500 MHz, is not listed, but maybe in the near future when the 700 MHz band gets released, will I be able to use the the b12 band, which is also 700 MHz?
I would appreciate any contributions you could make!
Thanks a lot in advance!
1. No you can't use 5G in Spain with this phone because it doesn't support 5G band n78.
2. Modems are configured by Qualcomm and you can't just modify these because these are signed.
3. No you can't really...
Also good check basic Carrier Aggregation combination support by this device. If you like Contribute my site cacombos.com/contribute your device QMDL log with scat I like to add this device to site.
But my advise if you like have 5G in Spain, then you need European version of Samsung phone.

Question Mi 11 ultra network bandwidth limit / low Download speeds

Hello Xiaomi community, I am using my Mi 11 ultra(Chinese - yet to flash EU rom) on T-mobile in US. I have a oneplus 8T as well which is connected to the same network. When I test these two mobiles, which are connected to HSDPA right next to each other, I get 40mbps download speeds on Oneplus 8t but only 10mbps on mi 11 ultra. Is mi 11 ultra or MiUi limiting the network bandwidth? Are there any settings that I can adjust to see the same speeds? Both seem to be connected on Band 2. Appreciate any help with this. @olkitu, please comment.

Thank you for the info @avetny . I have checked both the mobiles and here is what I see. Oneplus 8t mostly connected to LTE, and Mi 11 ultra switching between EDGE, HSPA and if I force the setting to NR/LTE only, it shows LTE but can't browse anything and no data connection at all. Am I missing something? Also am sitting right next to the TMobile 4g LTE personal cell booster box with both these mobiles
This is when mi 11 on EDGE n/w
This is when mi 11 on LTE (with 20mbps download speed)
This is oneplus 8t mostly connected to LTE with 60 to 100mbps download speeds
Restart device
When I get into that menu and I change the network type the setting doesn't stick, why?

Tried with various settings few times. Am not sure why the connection stability is low and always switching from EDGE to HSPA to LTE where as oneplus rarely shows me HSDPA. I have a 4G LTE T mobile cell spot sitting right next to me.
In terms of the modem Mi 11 ultra has X60 where as oneplus 8t has X55
Check again settings.
Make sure 5G is preferred.
Make sure 5G Smart Switch is off.
This make help too: 5G battery saver is off.

Well Xiaomi do not support Carrier Aggregation combinations and 5G used in US. Maybe SA only n41 could work but it's by default disabled outside from China.
OnePlus 8T is US model? You should buy device from your own region to avoid issues. As you know you can check on https://cacombos.com website supported bands and carrier aggregation combinations of devices. Make sure it support Carrier Aggregation combinations your carrier use on your area.

Thank you for the response, would flashing a Global ROM gets me all the Band combos? I understand changing the ROM is not going to get me the missing Band 66 from Chinese version phone, but atleast wondering if I flash, the combos listed on Global version would follow? or ROM flashing will not change any Combos? Thank you.

Am trying NetMonster to see which cell tower and band(s) its connecting and if its using any combo bands. Typically the combo shows up like - (4G. LTE 1900+ AWS-A). I have not seen a combo so far on this with the Chinese ROM, but not sure if Global/EU ROM makes any difference. Unless the Global/EU ROM deals with Band Combos. Am yet to boot unlock, so could not do a quick try.
Were you able to get better speeds or use NetMonster to see Combo bands with Non Chinese ROM?

I had great speeds on every ROM but In my city they only use band 78 for 5G and I get about 250-300mb even without line of sight of the antenna, even I'm a restaurant or a mall it's that fast
i haven't been able to spot a 5G tower yet so I can test one in direct line of sight of it but I've read you can get about 700mb/s

Wow, that's crazy speed. Never heard of those kind of speeds in US. I wish the phone manufacturers just let the users decide what bands they want to enable in their region if the phone is high-end latest and greatest
Not always but here in london at my place i get 500+Mbps

Question Difference Between Versions

Hello All,
I do often travel around the world. Thats the reason why i choose the OnePlus Nord CE model (the Website promote to support a lot of LTE Bands).
Now I read, that OnePlus disable some LTE Bands for the area outside you live.
I've the EB13BA (EU) model.
Which LTE Bands are supported with that model?
Is it possible to unlock the other Bands?
Will the install of the Global Firmware, unlock the LTE Bands?
Thank you an best regards.

A prepaid SIM such as "SIM2Fly", which is used temporarily when traveling, will probably work fine.
By the way, my "EB13AA" is
Gsm: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
Wcdma: v1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE-FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28/66
LTE-TDD: B38/39/40/41
The number of bands is very wide, so the question is probably whether you need "VoLTE" or not.
For Japanese carrier SIMs, many are "VoLTE", so this phone without it enabled will be a Wi-fi only device.
In fact I have been working on that problem for a very long time, and I was able to turn it on only when the OS was "11.0.1.1.EB13AA", but all later OSes were impossible.
There is a bias in the OS files available, and "11.0.1.1.EB13AA" is not currently available on the Internet.
hy, thank you for your reply. I downloaded the 11.0.1.1.EB13AA version on the OnePlus site. But im not sure if it will unlock other LTE Bands. As i say i have the European and not the Global version. Is there a diffrent between a travel SIM and a native SIM?

In most cases, a travel SIM can be plugged into a device to get a signal and use it.
I don't know the specifics of the SIM, but the travel SIM should cover the common LTE bands.
And
OnePlus will disable some LTE bands in the area outside where you live.
Even if this is true, it should not disable common LTE bands in the world, such as B3/B20.
This is mostly speculation, but I hope it helps.
If you are unsure, it is fun to flash globalROM boldly.

Question Unlock more LTE bands in Redmi Note 10 Pro (India)

I bought the Redmi Note 10 Pro (sweetin), with a 64MP camera, and despite checking all the relevant specs, I didn't check the LTE bands that the device supports. I live in Brazil, and in my region, the working bands are B3, B7 and B28.
I would like to have access to B28, with better coverage and speed, but the device does not support it, only B3 and B7. Although I searched several tutorials on how to unlock additional bands, none of them worked. The closer I got, it returned the warning "NV_READONLY".
Does anyone have any ideas, or tips, for trying to unlock additional bands. If this is possible.
Thank you very much in advance.
