Question can i install twrp after flashing global rom? - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

im gonna get my mi11 pro unlocked with global rom , and i want to know if i can install on this position the "twrp" ?
thnx

If you install the stock global you don't need twrp, unless you plan to root, in that case you can simply boot into twrp from fastboot with your PC

i dont understand .
im getting the device already unlocked with global rom from "giztop" , and i asked them if they also can install twrp , and they didnt know what im talking about .
so , i asume that if i have already global rom i dont need a tool like twrp in order to install updates , for example?
but if i want to flash another rom , instead of the global , lets say the eu , so i can i flash it?
"in that case you can simply boot into twrp from fastboot with your PC" - what do you mean???
thnx

If it comes with stock global, then updates will be stock global updates using stock recovery.
If you want to move to EU and you want to use updated versions, you will need to replace stock recovery with twrp recovery. This will enable you to flash custom ROMs. EU updates check via the updater app, same as the stock versions but it uses the twrp recovery to install them. Your bootloader will remain unlocked but will work as if it is locked in the EU ROM.

If it comes with the global ROM, you don't need twrp unless you want to root your phone with magisk.
To boot into twrp (you don't need to inject it)
you must install adb minimal and fastboot on your pc,
download the compatible twrp ror your device,
download the drivers for your device (easy doable on windows 10 by connecting your phone and running Windows update)
rename the twrp image into twrp.img for ease of use and drag and drop into your adb minimal and fastboot folder,
Open a command prompt (NO powershell) into the adb directory
Boot your phone into fastboot (power button + volume down from off device)
Connect your phone to the PC
Run first the command "fastboot devices" (without quotes obviously) to make sure your device is recognized.
Then run the command "fastboot boot twrp.img"
Done!

For installing OTAs/updates, TWRP is not necessary, as you are installing a factory rom and that factory rom already has factory recovery capabilities that OTAs from Xiaomi, are designed to with. You absolutely do not need TWRP. You only need TWRP if you are going to root your phone and/or going to install a third party rom, like the roms from Xiaomi.eu.

my friends, maybe i didnt make myself clear-its not a global phone , its chines version, but the store install on it the global rom

You didn't understand us. With stock ROMs you DON'T need any twrp unless you want to root or install Xiaomi EU, in either case you can just boot into it via cmd prompt on windows

So, if it is stock (Global, EEA, CN), TWRP is not necessary unless you plan to either root your phone, install a third party rom or both. The Global version is a stock rom.

Big problems after bootloop

Hi all
Unfortunately, I'm having serious problems with my new Mi8, which arrived yesterday. It arrived with Global ROM and opened Bootloader.
Switch On, set up, data from the Mi6 pulled by NFC, all tutti. the Mi account I have connected here too.
Then I wanted to play the xiaomi.eu. TWRP installed via "Minimal adb and fastboot", installed via TWRP then the xiaomi.eu-ROM (newest). Has also worked. When setting up the point that I can play back via NFC what was not displayed, or I have overlooked him. Okay, again from the beginning, I thought. Have then reset the phone to factory settings to repeat the device.
Then the phone stuck in the bootloop. Again and again the Mi logo appeared and "unlocked", disappeared and came back, disappeared and came back. I did not get into the TWRP anymore, just into the fastboot.
On advice of different users on FB and another forum I should flash the Global ROM again over the MiFlash tool, which I did then also. Unfortunately I carelessly chose "Flash-and-Lock" and closed the boot loader. Unfortunately, this flash did not work and the phone now only starts in recovery mode 3.0
Due to the closed boot loader, it is not possible for me to install TWRP again, to flash another ROM with MiFlashTool. Also, the Unlock tool does not work, because I get the error message that the device is not linked to my account. I have also tried to install a recovery mod on the Xiaomi PC suite, as the bar remains on the PC but at 0%, on the phone remains the image with the pictured Mi8, after I in the recovery menu "Connect with MiAssistent "selected. Otherwise nothing happens.
With the latest version of the PC suite flashing works, but still boots the box in the recovery mode and the red font remains. Another user in the other forum said that I need the CN version, because on the CN device no EU-Rome is allowed. The CN version is rejected by the PC suite not get verified.
What else can I do. Do you have an idea that helps me getting the phone back on track?
This, for me, is the biggest joke of Xiaomi! Many users are getting stuck in this new policy! That does not exist! A total lack of respect for brand lovers. Let the developers figure out how to reverse this.
try CN Dev version, is latest and best,
forget xiaomi.eu rom lol, almost all they do you can do by yourself within minutes, uninstalling few chinese apps and get google works with googleinstaller_v3. and dev rom have root. just suggestion.
I tried the last cn-version, but the pc-suite dont verify this ROM and dont flash it.

Miflasher dont work, because the bootloader is locked.
To OP and the issue at hand, have you tried the fastboot image to install chinese stable or developer rom? That should flash and allow you to unlock bootloader again.
To the people whining about this policy of Xiaomi, you are buying a product for a different market. There is nothing wrong with their policy and you should wait for global version of the phone if you want global image with locked bootloader. It's a little like complaining that the chinese MMO you play over vpn doesn't have english menus. Well no, it's not for that market.

I tried only the chinese recovery rom for flashing with the pc-suite. The fastboot image, I can only flash with twrp or miflashtool, right? TWRP dont work, I cant boot in it. And miflashtool says, as I tried to flash the global rom, that it isnt allowed to erase a locked device.

Nah, the fastboot image flashes best in my experience if you unpack it, all the way. You will get some folders and .bat files. make sure you have fastboot in either PATH or same directory make sure fastboot detects the image and after that run the flash_all.bat and it should flash it.

That dont work, because the bootloader is locked. Fastboot says too, that it isnt allowed because the lock, same when I try to install twrp on the locked phone.

Unable to install TWRP, using Miflash or XiaomiMiTool

Hello everyone, I am trying to install the latest Global dev ROM on my Mi8.
I bought the phone from Gearbest and it arrived with the latest Russian stable ROM and unlocked bootloader.
The thing is I think the person who did all the above messed something up because I can't install the ROM I want using the standard procedures with TWRP, XiaomiMiTool or Mi Flash.
TWRP
When I try to install TWRP (version 918), when I reboot with the reboot command and use the flash command, I see some random errors (couldn't get max-size report for example) or the command does nothing, so I am not able to install it.
XiaomiMiTool
The program recognises the phone, I select the global dev rom, it makes its checks, then it tries (failing of course) to unblock the already unblocked bootloader and I cannot proceed any farther
Miflash
Booted the phone in fastboot, found in the program list, check "clean all" only, when I click flash the phone goes into a black screen with a "press any key to shutdown" in the top left corner of the screen
Any advice on how to resolve any of these problems please? Maybe something got corrupted like the boot.img or recovery.img?
I can provide with some screenshoots and photos and list of commands I was using if it's going to be of any help
Thanks

Thank you for this, but this is the same guide I followed.
After I use the flash command either nothing happens or I get an error.
The image below is after I waited 5 mins
OK.I recommend you TWRP 3.2.2-0711 wzsx150 from LR.TEAM linkhttps://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/how-to/recovery-twrp-3-2-2-0703-t3812600
,and also i recommend you insted of Global rom the EU rom.Its many language included and have better performance and camera.
I resolved this problem changing pc with USB 2.0 ports.

Question Need help, TWRP shows no rom

Hi everyone, I really need some help. Took my phone to I.T shop to have it unlocked and EU rom stable put on. I got my phone back with TWRP on it saying no rom. I know nothing about this kind of thing and now I am stuck. Is there someone who can fix this remotely for me?? Thanks in advance
In twrp Click install and Check in the download folder in case it's not in the root folder, if there is no ROM there you could fix it yourself by flashing the last fastboot ROM from a bat file or cmd line
i think it was 12.5.5 or something like that and then you can update to EU 12.5.12 stable via twrp
AND NEVER USE THAT SHOP AGAIN LOL

Thanks for your reply. Could this be done remotely. I really have no idea how to do any of this stuff which is why i first went to a shop. Im happy to pay for a good outcome
Anyone who flashes ROMs could do it in a few minutes via team viewer or something.... But it maybe beneficial to learn for yourself
It's really simple, you've already done the hardest part if you've unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp
Just put the phone in fastboot mode and then plug into PC and click on the bat file
Download: MIUI 12 stable update rolling out to several Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices
MIUI 12 stable builds have begun rolling out to several Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices. Head on over for Recovery ROM and Fastboot ROM download links!
www.xda-developers.com
Select your phone and download the MIUI stock ROM. (Do NOT extract it.)
Boot into Twrp and wipe and factory reset.
Move the miui stock rom to the phone.
Select flash and select the zip file.
Swipe to flash
Then download and flash(move to phone, flash) the 'ARM64 Android 11' Gapps(Google apps) https://opengapps.org/
Then reboot.
All data will be lost. If you want to keep your photos and videos, before doing everything, go to twrp , connect the phone to a pc, and move the 'Dcim' folder to the computer side.
If you have a working TWRP, just use it to flash latest EU version, format data, reboot system. Done.
Then if you want to go back to a stock ROM, flash it via fastboot or twrp depending on the ROM format you download.

If he's stuck in twrp how can he download a ROM to flash? I don't think you can transfer files to a phone that doesn't have a ROM to flash via twrp
Fastboot first from a PC cmd maybe the only way to get started
He is asking someone else to do the process he doesn't know anything about these things (and I don't understand why buying a phone to make things like this if not capable). Anyway go on YouTube and check people doing the process, I don't think is difficult watching a guy and copy what he is doing
I am replying to close this thread. He contacted me over telegram. I took a look at his phone and the phone is not being detected in fastboot mode on his pc. Maybe hard bricked or in edl mode. Also his twrp is not accessible. So i suggested him to contact the edl guy and he fixed the phone.
So ask mods to close this thread?

So sp flash tool will lock your phone to engineer mode if it turns off follow this instruction:
prepare sp flash tools to only flash recovery (the one you want to boot into)
then click the download button to start flash
then wait for phone to get to boot( when image appears, before it gets to reboot plugin your phone to pc)
sp flash tools will flash then when done make sure you reboot to the custom recovery
then if you can access your system from recovery , look next to build.rop for recovery or rebootfromrecovery.p
copy the file somewhere
edit in notepad to clear everything, save it then use the edited one to overwrite

Certainly, mixing files from different miui versions, bricked your device.
You need to flash the correct miui version to fix the partition table.
And then, you can flash another miui version using fastboot.

Question I got stuck after download some Updates via OTA

Hi there
I am a newbie of Xiaomi Phone. I got a used Mi 11 Ultra phone from a reputable eBay User. My phone is currently installed with a stable version called MIUI 13/.0 (V13.0.12.0.SKACNXM STABLE). Since I am new to this phone, I click on system updates and managed to download a file called xiaomi.eu_Multi_M11Pro_M11Ultra_V13.0.13.0.SKACNXM_618A7FFAB_V13-12.ZIP Via OTA Updates.
After I click on the Updates Button, I got a screen with a green button : "Check MD5 & Install", after a while, I got a pop up screen says :Your device supports "Seamless System Updates",
I click on the OK button, also click on the OK button for the internal storage is encrypted.
Finally, to ask me whether I would like to continue to install the Updates, I choose YES and end up stuck at the Main Menu with 5 choices: Reboot, Wipe Data, Connect with MiAssistant, Safe Mode and Repair Mode. There are no choice for me to install the Updates.
Can someone give me a hand please ?
Many thanks in advance.

He has already installed xiaomi.eu custom ROM, if you closely check his pictures from his first post - Updater app downloaded new version of xiaomi.eu CUSTOM ROM, so yeah he has already unlocked bootloader, and installed FASTBOOT version of CUSTOM ROM, the version what Updater app downloaded was released to be installed with TWRP (he didn't have TWRP on his phone yet) - so he need boot into TWRP and install update manually.

If so, how did you do it, if you don't mind me asking.
