You came to the right place, welcome to XDA!
In order to get better help you can tell us about your device.

Hello, Thanks for the quick reply.
Bought J5 2016 from eBay - ex Manchester City Corp.
Gets all the desktop information/can access settings etc.
When I try to get on, say, the BBC , it shows the site - but then says "security policy prevents data sharing" is I try to open any page.
Thought perhaps "rooting" might allow me access - but whenever I try to put Odin on, it just tells me "added" I click "AP" then only "all threads completed succeed 0 - Failed 1. Any thoughts at all? Cheers, Les.

Samsung releases "Samsung Dive"...

researching something else, came across this - samsung just released "samsung Dive" in Germany & UK - an app that lets you wipe or lock your phone remotely if lost or stolen
http://www.slipperybrick.com/2010/07/samsung-dive-remotely-locks-wipes-your-wave-galaxy-s-for-free/
I just signed up for it and tried it. Annoying that they're not enabling the tracking service depending on the country, wavesecure does that and more... If there a way to work around it by a proxy or such?
how do you sign up on the galaxy s? i cant seem to find what its asking for, and there is nothing in the user guide about the galaxy s

you need to sign up via the application within the phones app
where is that exactly? i cant seem to find it, thanks in advance!
From homescreen, go into settings -> location & security -> set mobile tracker
Have fun
You need a Samsung account first. In settings go to the area where it allows you to add various accounts like facebook/gmail and add a samsung account... then go to http://www.samsungdive.com/index.do
then enable mobile tracking ...
login with the account you made etc
full instructions are on that website ...
Thats the problem, in the account settings there is no samsung option, just google, facebook, myspace, twitter and corporate. and the instructions on the website are for the S8500 Wave, not the Galaxy S. enabling mobile tracker in security doesnt work, as again, there is no option to create an account, so even if it is set up, you cant access it from the website.
Since its not available in the US yet.
SIM Checker
Remote Wipe
Where's My Droid
3 apps will do.
annoyingly, i'm in the uk so it is available where i am, just i cant access it
Anyone managed to sign into the website yet. I can't find any option to create an account on my phone

i figured it out.
in contrast to the website, in order to create your samsung account, you have to enable mobile tracker first. then after setting it up do you get the option to make your samsung account, which is the opposite of the information on the website, saying that you need to make the account first and then enable mobile tracker. hope this helps anyone who was stuck
Brilliant, thanks
I'm trying to sign up for an account now, and it's coming back with an error message, saying "invalid birthday" .... which is odd - I'm fairly sure my birthday is NOT invalid - I am fairly sure I have in fact been born!

Had the same error. Just ignored it and signed up without entering a birthday. When I logged in, my birthday was correctly registered :/

When we know Samsung's skills to implement working and bug free software, do you dare to install that piece of software that can wipe off your phone I'm not sure, if I dare.
The service don't seem to work though. Tried sending a remote lock command, and it said it was successful, but I can still use the phone without providing the lock code.
Might be dependant on TwLauncher though. I use LauncherPro
it says it's only for UK and Germany

Is anyone having any luck signing up with the Web Tracker?
I've got a Galaxy S on Froyo, and it won't let me sign up. I fill in all the fields fine, but then get this error: "Unable to sign up. Processing failed IDM_1105"
Any ideas?
All signed up and seems to be working. Sent a location request and waiting for reply now. The register being hidden under the on screen keyboard did have me stumped for a while. Also date of birth is YYYY DD MM so not easy to get right without an example.

[Q] Lockscreen protection on miniCM9

First off I'm using nAa's new ICS rom.
I tried to create a VPN to figure out what exactly it was and I was prompted to put on lock screen protection.
Now I don't want it anymore and I can't get rid of it in the security settings or the VPN settings, or any other settings that I've searched for that matter.
In the lock screen section of security section, the "None" option is grayed out and under it says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage"
Any help would be appreciated!
Don't take it hard on yourself...
No need to take it hard for yourself, simply reset your phone via recovery and you'll have the factory settings again.
You can backup all you staff via Titanium backup.
here is a complete tutorial for you....http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-use-titanium-backup-for-android-complete-guide/
Enjoy
Reset too many times...
I've done that so many times now and I was hoping for a more simple answer.
I feel really dumb, though, because just before reading your reply I realized that removing the VPN that I had created did the trick.
For what reason the lock screen requires a password/pattern when there's a VPN stored on the phone I shall never know.
Clarify your situation
Being a newbie doesn't mean to be dumb
Of course there are lots of other ways, but what's your exact problem right now?
well, different Roms, have different settings but totally when you are going to change something which you have created before like a pattern/pass,an account or a vpn,the devices needs to know that the Owner is gonna change setting and simply asks you the pass.
Was It clear?

[Q] Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo help

I know nothing about any of this so bare with me guys/gals please. Just need help once and ill remove my account. If any of you feel like im wasting your time then please tell me and ill remove my post. Thankyou and i hope someone will give me an idea of whats going on.
Friends ex girlfriend is remotely accessing his phone from her computer, she can lock him out and write text out of format on the lock screen. She has deleted everything on his phone 8 times in the past hour. The Verizon recovery app has been disabled, we went into the Verizon store and changed EVERYTHING, number, passwords, made sure if she ever called in wanting info she couldn't get it. There is no way she figured out any of the passwords, she doesn't have access to any of his accounts, gmails facebook etc... i thought for sure she was using the recovery app but that's impossible cause no account has been created to access to his phone. Idk guys like i said im not an expert one thing that has me most skeptical she can write whatever she wants, whatever color, on his phone on any spot on the screen. Its completely out of set text formations on the lock screen looks like doodles i guess. Just curious if you guys have have ever heard of anything like this happening before. Thanks and i apologize if this shouldn't be here just on a desperate attempt to figure this out. Verizon is completely stumped they have no idea how she does it, even the main tech guy at the store (idk his credentials) cant figure it out.
From what I've seen so far, Android Device Manager (part of Google's setup) can do remote wipes. as can Motorola ID. I imagine both of these may "automatically setup" when you re-activate the phone. Beyond that, you'd need an app to perform such changes, I'd think.
Also, if he's on a joint-account with his exGF, and if she has access to the account, VZ may be doing this without the store-people knowing it?

If it's Android Device Manager, maybe it would be sufficient to just change the Google login password?
Yeah, he changed his Google password right?

He was on a joint account but upon breakin up with her he took her phone, cancelled it, removed her from the account changed his passwords to facebook and google and everything else. Just for the guy to call in and request info he has to answer 5+ extra security questions before hes allowed any info. But ill check out the ADV maybe thats it. Thankyou

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hello everyone! Thanks for being welcoming and I hope everyone is doing well. I signed up due to a recent event that occurred and I'm hoping to receive some assistance with finding the alleged criminals or at least retrieve my property and possibly make a few new smart friends with those that help me in the process. Thanks!
Welcome to XDA. i hope you find those criminals!
Have you tried using "Find my device" by google?

I have tried though I will try again. The bad thing is I'm in this phase of trying to consolidate passwords and secure all my accounts on all my devices and I forgot which passwords I used. Therefore, since all of my devices were stolen, I lost access to my gmail and google accounts and cannot seem to gain it back through their password recovery systems. Why isn't there an option to use biometrics in their forgot password section? I will head over to find my device again and see if I can get any other outcomes.

Question KLMSAgent as Device Manager

Good morning.
Under Settings / Biometric & security / Other security settings / Device management apps, I have a switch for disable KLMSAgent. What are the consequences for doing it?
My only goal would be optimize the system, reduce its process and memory load and so... I do NOT pretend root my phone, and I don't want compromise its security. My phone is only for personal (not enterprise) use.
Is safe set that switch to off? what happens if I do that? someone has tested?
Thank you.
Apparently, it is part of the Knox security and is safe. That said I do not have it as a device admin.

Thank you for your time.
I know that's part of Knox, and safe, too, but I don't knew the consequences for disable it as a Device Admin/Manager... Reading that you don't have it as a device admin, I have disabled it a couple minutes ago to see what's happen... At the moment works all right, no problems at all, no differences in functionality with my typical use of the phone...
Only that now I can't see how I'd eneble again if I needed it, because KLMS Agent has dissapear of the "Device management/administration" apps... :-S (look at the screenshot). Don't worries because I think never go need it again ;-)
Thank you, and greetings.

I do not have and phone works fine, and I cannot find the package on my phone so must work fine without it.
Not sure why it would be installed unless the phone had been under some organisation's mobile device management service.

Thank you again. And only as information, my phone never was part of any organization... I bought for myself, and ever was and is for personal use. But as I said before, don't worries! the phone is working fine, just as before, and disabling KLMSAgent may be reduce the memory and process load, so it's ok.
