Successfully Flashed Splash Screen in Fastboot
I have! I just used AlphaRevX to get S-Off yesterday and while I was at it I installed a new splash screen! I was reading several threads in the desire forums and played around with it til i could get mine to work.
(Original Thread) [HOW TO] HTC Desire Custom Splash screen
Just use the thread listed above with one exception. With the Aria you need to be sure that when you save your BMP the resolution needs to be 320x480, not 480x800. It would probably be a good idea to change the values when you use nbimg too.
Code:
nbimg -F splash1.bmp -w 320 -h 480
Even though i didn't notice it make a difference when I did it.
Hope this helps out anyone else with an Aria who wants to change their splash screen.

Try these:
1.)Put update.zip of cwm recovery onto ur sd(If you don't know how google it!)
2.)Power off ur Aria(Uncheck Power> Fastboot in settings first)
3.)Enter Fastboot.(VOL DN+POWER)
4.)Select RECOVERY
5.)You will get a warning signal, ignore it, just press VOL UP+POWER
6.)Navigate to "apply sdcard:update.zip" or something similar
7.)Reboot
8.)To check, power on your phone and type into terminal:
su
reboot recovery
9.)You're done!
I don't know if this will work or not(I owned a Desire, not Aria)But try if you have time!

[Q] Help need with boot looping.

My trusty old nexus one is stuck in the boot animation. It's not rooted, in fact when the power button failed and I was going to put a custom rom on it that allowed for unlocking via the trackball adb oem unlock returned an error.
I assume it doesn't get very far in the sequence or isn't set up for developer mode since adb never sees it, and find the boot loader screen impossible to work with without a power button.
Is there anything I'm missing to recover the phone before I sell it for parts?
Thanks in advance,
thynk
Its fastboot OEM not adb but that does not matter since you can't do it anyways.
Use/try the passing.zip method to restore/downgrade and root. Or just fix the power button and unlocked the bootloader.

Locked bootloader, stock recovery, no system.

Hi guys, my friend's Atrix HD is in a trouble, exactly as the post title say. He device has bl locked again with no system to boot, there's some way to install a rom in this situation?
Any way to get into fastboot? If you can get into fastboot, try flashing a stock ROM with RSD Lite.
Myth tools will adb a rom over if you can get into the boot loader

It not seems to work, i can get into adb via stock recovery and can get fastboot normally. My question is: Is it possible to enable usb debugging mode using adb or fastboot commands?

No, it is not possible. This would be a massive security issue, as it would defeat the entire purpose of having that setting in the phone, since it would allow full access to your phone without logging into the OS.
Pro-tip: You should really leave that setting turned off until you actually need it, because otherwise anyone can plug in a USB cable and get full access to send fastboot commands to your device (including bypassing lock screens).

I think this is like a hard brick, but worse. I think its a dead device and at minimum needs its motherboard replaced with a new/used one that has a working ROM on it.

Nexus 6 bricked and locked bootloader!?!?!?

Hi
I was side loading the new 5.1 to both my N5 and N6. N5 was ALL GOOD. N6 however is not. After waiting for a rediculous time for it to reboot when it was stuck on the white Google Image, I disconnected the USB cable. Now it won't boot past the Google screen at all.
I can see it as a fastboot device and can boot into bootloader. There appears to be no recovery. When I try to re flash or side load, I get the warning along the lines of 'unlock before flash'.
So........can anyone assist please?
Thanks in advance of responses.
Cheers
Thommo
Look here..

That might help, otherwise since you can get into BL mode can you try flashing stock recovery from the image you originally had? I guess I don't know if that works or not or if that is what you were trying to reflash..
fastboot command to flash recovery is
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img <--replace recovery.img with the name of the recovery you are trying to flash. It's most likely recovery.img if you are taking it from a stock image.
Good luck.

i have the same prob bro i am waiting for a fix i still have hope
So the lesson learned is: Always unlocking the bootloader once you have the phone/tablet should be the first thing to do so you can fix issues !
I also need someone to find a way to unlock the bootloader ! btw try booting into recovery (it will say no command) and then hold the volume up and power for 10 seconds and then let go, then select adb sideload ...let it time out...then try to clear data and cache. I tried to clear that when i had a bootloop but wouldnt work, i got it to work by selecting adb sideload and then letting it time out(takes a while to timeout)..must mount the partitions...

If you do not have TWRP recovery, there's nothing you can do. RMA.

Doubt it. There are some GooglePlay versions that have been RMA'd as it was a promo. Still gonna go back to original Account for the RMA.
stupid question . if this is Motorola you cant use RSD this with the correct FXZ. or they no longer use this since its a nexus.

Have you tried it from your PC?
fastboot reboot-bootloader
How can you run fastboot commands if your not in fastbbot-bootloader?
"my phone doesn't enter into fast boot mode"
(General message - see what I did there? No need to repeat the entire post. Just the part I'm responding to.)
Does this mean that you can't get to bootloader? Is your bootloader unlocked? When you reboot do you see the open padlock symbol?
So what did you do to brick your device?

With USB connected, from a cmd prompt I do:
adb devices (to load the drivers and make sure my phone is recognized)
adb reboot bootloader (this should put you in bootloader mode)
fastboot devices (just to be sure my phone is still recognized)
fastboot flash radio radio.img (or whatever image you want to flash)
fastboot reboot-bootloader (in between flashes, just to be safe)
I do so hate it when people don't bother to read my posts properly. It takes away my incentive to try to help them...
"No need to repeat the entire post. Just the part I'm responding to."
"So what did you do to brick your device?" Install the custom ROM you mention?
And a new question. You say "no matter wat buttons i press". Does that include the bootloader power & volume down simultaneous press for maybe 30 seconds?
So there are 3 items in this post. Can I have 3 responses please? The first will be not copying this entire post all over again, the other two will be answers to my questions.

Do you have a working recovery you can access?
And stay away from toolkits. Learn to flash manually. It's easy and you know what part goes wrong. Tool kits are nice in automation, but when something happens ya don't have a decent idea where to start.
