Magisk Module - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

I created my own custom font module using a guide available in this forum & I successfully created what I was looking for, also I was able to flash the font module but, after reboot I saw that font had not been changed & could not see the module installed in magisk as well. Is there something else I need to do to run the module?

Magisk - Rebooting resets Magisk Hide

Hi all,
So I've just flashed Oxygen OS 4.0.1 for the OnePlus3T, flashed SuperSU 2.79, downloaded Magisk from playstore, installed it, uninstalled SuperSU app. Root is working fine
Two green ticks, installed and properly rooted, but the SafteyNet failes. I read that you need to enable Magisk hide, so I do, and it tells me to reboot, so again I do, but the option keeps resetting/.
Anyone else having this issue/ has a solution?
There's been several users with OnePlus devices having problems with Magisk Hide. Might be a device specific issue that's not user solvable at the moment...
Edit: New info added to OP after my answer... Magisk Hide does not work with SuperSU.

That's a shame ./. I'll ask reddit
Thanks
I'm using phh's superuser and Magisk hide is working for me on the open beta and people seem to say that the current beta and the release versions are virtually the same, so it might be an issue with how SuperSU is handled.
afaik Magisk Hide needs phh's root, not SuperSU

Ok... I believe you've added some information since my first answer...
Magisk Hide does NOT work with SuperSU. You have to use topjohnwu's phh's superuser that's provided with Magisk.

Nope, nope, nope. It's a problem with USERS who use magisk hide options. In THREAD is info about supersu + magisk hide = NOT WORKING. This is only fault of wrong su binaries, so it's not device specific issue.
And for this issue - probably flash a unsu script. It will (probably) delete all of supersu files, then in magisk manager or twrp flash modded phh binaries for magisk and then, finally install ph manager from google play. That is config to be able to use magisk hide.
ENJOY.

Yeah, I know... OP edited with SuperSU info after my answer. I edited my post as well. Thanks for the reminder.
Not going to quote everyone, but YES! Removing SuperSU and using phh SU works just fine!
Thanks all.

Magisk won't load modules

Hi,
I'm running a Magisk-rooted Android 10 Pixel 3 XL and when I go to the modules section, it doesn't load any modules for me to search.
This is the 2nd time I installed magisk after re-flashing a new image and I notice that after updating, Magisk doesn't seem to change it all like it did before.
The updated theme I got after installing magisk the first time was more of a light-colored them and there were buttons at the bottom to navigate to modules and other things. Now, the theme remains dark like it was before updating (like it didn't change at all, but still says up to date) and I have to tap on the menu button at the top left to navigate to the modules section.
Why isn't Magisk changing now after updating when it did before? Is this something to do with the reason it won't load modules? IF not, how do I get modules back in my Magisk app?
Is saw here that you fixed your issue. :good:
The updated Magisk Manager design is still on the Canary channel (wasn't quite ready for release with Magisk v20.4), while the stable channel use the old Manager design.
If you want to know how to get logs, take a look here:

Yes. It seems I was expecting to get a UI for modules that were operated through Terminal. Total N00B, I know... lol.

Madisk and Kali NetHunter

Hello, i have Oneplus5 with the latest updates and Android 10, also installed latest version of Magisk and Magisk Manager, so i decide to install nethunter, download modules directly from Magisk Manager - "KaliNethunter 8.2" and Wireless Firmware For Nethunter but nothing installed there was no KaliNethunter app after rebooting phone, why not can someone help?
I have also installed MagiskHide props and Busybox modules installed nothing else
no one can help?
The module install log and the Magisk log is a good piece of information to provide for anyone to be able to help.
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHelp
here is magisk log but i could not find nethunter module log where is it?
The module install log needs to be saved from the Manager module flash screen, right after you've installed the module.
The Magisk log looks normal (apart from the many unnecessary apps added to the Hide list), so the install log is our only likely source of info for what happened. From what I remember, that module installs the apk as a normal user app during install, so you could probably just grab the apk from the zip and install it manually.
here the log yes have done this like you said intall apk files and now will test it and update you
Yeah... There are a whole bunch of errors regarding selinux, the apk installation and trying to edit system files with /system read-only. Contacting the module creator might be your best bet, but looking at the Github repo it seems to be abandoned.
thank you will do

Modules not working in Canary Build

Hi Guys,
My Pixel 2XL "magically automatically" updated itself to Android 11, so I've been forced to migrate to the Canary build of Magisk
to get root back etc.
The problem I have, is that the modules are not being 'detected' despite being installed.
EG: Active Edge Mod for Pixel, module is installed in Magisk, but the app doesn't detect the installation.
Same for other Magisk modules.
I'm hoping its something simple I need to do to detect these, I've searched, but found no definitive answer.
Anyone have any suggestions? Or can point me to more info on canary?
Thanks in Advance!
I noticed v21 has been released, so I jumped back to the stable channel and updated app to 8.0.1, but strangely still have the same issue!
Modules aren't being detected.
I get the following error when I try to run energized in terminal;
/system/bin/energized[13]: .: /sbin/ .magisk/modules/energizedprotection/system/bin/setupFiles.sh: No such file or directory
You've got two rather special modules there, so they're hardly the benchmark for if things work or not.
For Active Edge Mod you're probably better of asking for help with the developer. And judging by that error the Energized developer also need to update their module, since that path no longer exists on A11 (and it's bad practise to hardcode the path like that anyway). You could edit the energized file in the module directly, to point to the correct path (check the module thread, I'm sure someone has brought this up already).
So, in conclusion: unless there are other more "normal" modules that doesn't work there's no issue and you need to contact the developers of these two modules so that they can fix them.
Thanks @Didgeridoohan, I wasn't aware that the paths had changed. That would explain a lot...
Out of curiosity, what would you consider a "normal" module? For testing purposes..
Cheers!

I always like @osm0sis' modules. They utilise the module installer scripts very nicely and pretty much always work (and if they don't something usually has gone horribly wrong).
Well, hijack the module installer scripts nicely.
Well, I do have @osm0sis BusyBox Magisk Module installed, but I think I read a tweet that TopJohnWu was incorporating a busybox binary in Magisk..
I can see that all of my Magisk modules (except Systemless Host) has a "folder icon with an i" on it. Can't find what that means.. and I get a blank screen when i press it.
Magisk has had Busybox integrated for ages... Lately it's become more usable for scripts and modules though. It's not exposed to the rest of the system like @osm0sis module is.
The icon you're seeing is the module readme. Click that and it should open in the window that you see.

[QUESTION] AC5BB80F Magisk module?

Some time ago after opening Magisk > Modules I saw a module called AC5BB80F and the "reboot to install" icon. I have never seen it, so I disabled it for security purposes but not removed because I wanted to discover it. But I haven't found anything. So, is it a virus/spyware/something else what is dangerous? Does anyone know what is it? And is it possible to extract ZIP of an installed Magisk module? I'm on unofficial ArrowOS from this thread.
