I must say I am very impressed with the video quality on the Note 4. The OIS gives video great stability. I have a couple of questions about resolutions/fps and lossless zoom.
1.I heard somewhere that in smooth motion (where it defaults to 1080p) the fps is double that of the note 3 in this mode, ie 120fps. Can anyone confirm this? This would be awesome as unless I'm mistaken we could take 2mp snap shots from the video and these would have an equivalent shutter speed of 1/120 - great for moving objects!
2. Does anyone know how far you can zoom in losslessly in the various resolutions. I've got a feeling it's 1.5x in 1080p but I'm not sure. Would also be interested to know if we can zoom in losslessly at higher resolutions and to what extent. Although shooting in 4k isn't that useful to me, the ability to screenshot 8mp images from any part of the video is a very cool feature.
Hi,everyone!
Currently I am using the NostromoPop rom on my One Mini 2,along with DSLR camera for taking photos and Cinema FV-5 for video recording. Now,I know the phone is limited by its internal capabilities when it comes to the resolution and framerate it can shoot a video at,but I know for a fact that sometimes you can get more from a camera that the developer intended (I have used a Huawei G510 before, horrible phone but with a lot more roms to choose from, and one of them allowed 720p recording, which wasn't possible on any other rom, including the stock one).
What I'm asking : Is there a camera app(perhaps combined with a kernel or tweak of files) to allow 1080p 60fps video recording on the HTC One Mini 2?

Not sure what you asking since HTC One Mini 2 already records at 1080.
Camera
Main Camera: 13MP, BSI sensor, f/2.2, 1080p video recording
Front Camera: 5MP, BSI sensor, 1080p video recording

Ummm...not trying to be mean or anything, but you should learn to read better before voicing an opinion, not just between the lines. What I asked was if it was possible to shoot at 1080p 60fps on the One Mini 2.
Have a nice day!

you right...
it records 1080p at 30fps
and 720p at 60fps
Does anyone know why when recording video with the 1:1 aspect ratio we're only allowed to record at 1080p 30fps? Is there a logical reason that I'm unaware of? I had a galaxy s9 prior to this, and I thought we were able to record at 1080p 60fps. I tend to record with this aspect ratio, as it's convenient for posting to Instagram. It would be a pain to record 1080p 60fps at 9:16, and then crop it post, though I can't tell if, when you would crop it, it down-rates it to 30fps somehow.
Hello, is there any app able to record real HDR videos? I mean real HDR10/HLG with BT.2020 colors. My old Xperia XZ2Compact is capable of this and the video looks great on my HDR 4k TV
This question arised from the fact that I noticed something strange when selecting FHD 30 FPS mode. It seems that the video is grainy but it is very sharp. However, when selecting UHD 30FPS, the video becomes blurry and smudged, allmost like it's being upscaled. I have uploaded here a screen recording from Filmic but this also happens in the stock camera aswell. Also, does anyone know of an app that can enable me to record in UHD but keep that FHD sharpness? I don't mind the grain as long as it is sharp.
Taking a video in the night and waiting for a sharp image... LOL
Of course no device can record a sharp video without light... basic photo/video knowledge
Why does FHD look sharper than UHD then?
