Hi everybody,
Well I thought I solved my problem, but the guz who wanted to help me, let me down.
I wanted to make a good handsfree for the xda. I let go from the idea that I could involve my car stereo (no in at the device) so I wanted to make a solution with a seperate loudspeaker and a seperate microfone.
But the guy said to me that he will not take the risk...
What risk?
I myself have no technical abilities at all :-(
Cant solder have no idea about how to solve it. The solutions offered on the market seem to be verry bad and expensive. Bad sound, bad micro etc. I also wanted to involve a GPS mouse in the system.
It is clear to me how it should work, but I cant do it, being such an technical looser. If I would have to solder anything I would have one big bunch of connections, soldered together.
I have money I could pay for it....If I have to.....
Anyone there who thinks he could help me?
Please, I am desperate and lost...
Thanks
WK
maybe that bring some explanation as far as audio ....
cables are concerned, the little descriptive reading show you different audio options you can consider for you in-the-car equipment

Hi Monica,
Thanks a bunch.Tough it was not exactly what I was looking for it helped me further a bit.
I wanted to make a car kit for my car. But as I look deeper in the subject I might go for a headset. Is there any way to get the plugs in europe?
I would like to get one, but ordering it in the US will cost a fortune.
Any idea?
Thanks
WK
WK, i'm currently in the process of building a fully featured car kit for the XDA, I'm waiting on a PCB at the moment, but as soon as it arrives I will be trying to get the project finished.
The solution uses an external mic (not the XDA's) and provides line out via RCA's, and finally a telephone mute signal for incar stereo.
I will post when the project is complete, and if all goes well, I can put together some sort of guide for you guy's if you wish..
Cheers

Hi Neil
I'm in the phase of making experiments with my XDA1 and external car kits.
I already prepared a XDA connector with a 2Mt cable that have all the connector signal:
-Power supply
-Car on wire
-Mic in
-Stereo Out
-RS232 (for my GPS mouse)
-USB (for future use like external HD!)
I'm now tring to find a solution for the "radio muting"
Can you give me infos on where you find the project?
Bye
I am keen also to get more info on that

TPMS has beenn mentioned a few times in the original thread, but AFAIK no one has managed to find out how/if any TPMS modules will work. I bought a TPMS module from Klyde, it comes with 4 valve caps and a strange mini USB thing that I assume allows you to plug another mini USB device into the unit at the same time.
Unfortunately I cant get it to work with the built in TPMS app that started appearing in ROMs from June either on my old unit or my new one, I ve tried searching for the device in the BT app and the BT in settings but I get nothing, I m awaiting a response from Klyde.
If anyone has any ideas on how to get it to work then let me know, but its good to see TPMS hardware available for these devices - even if its not working . . yet !
Can you share link from TPMS module?
My brain is stuck what is TPMS? I am sure I should know but i don't get it
Guess youre talking about Tire Pressure Metering Sensor?
would you probably add a hint to your OP and title so others know what you mean? Remeber the non-english-speakers here
Yes this is it (Tire Pressure Metering Sensor).

I simply bought it from Klyde, there was no link, I guess you have to ask them.
It turns out it cant be used with DAB, which is why I cant get it to work - the cable to attach it is the same as the DAB module they sent me.
I m not sure if its BT or maybe NFC or something. I ll report back with results when I get it to to work
Does anybody try this TPMS solution with his HU?

Does the app work in landscape mode?
Can the app start with background mode?
Does the external (valve cap) sensor show accurate value?
I have been using this TPMS system in Volkswagen Polo and my MTCB head unit since 3 months now and couldn't be happier with it.
It activates when you press the button because it invokes the reverse camera display source every time you call it into action.

I have tried these two models purchased at Amazon and they work perfectly. I have them installed on my cars.
The only drawback is that you need Bluetooth 4.0 and HuiFei radio does not have it. I have commissioned an RX USB Bluetooth for Android on Deal Extreme, to see if it works.
So far I'm seeing it in my S5 Galaxy.

Turns out you need a special lead that I wasnt sent orignally, it plugs into one of the sockets on the back of the unit, theyre sending me one, I ll post again when I get it.
Anyone have a idea if this would work with a joying head unit.

Dont know, ask the seller.
But in any case if it works with a Joyous unit it will work with ANY MTCB head unit. There is no such thing as a "Joying" head unit - Joying/CarJoying are simply re-sellers of Shenzhen Joyous head units.

Yes I think.
It looks made specifically for these HUs. So I supposed they tested them.
And screens look like built-in TPMS app that I got preinstaled on my HU (KGL). So I supposed it should work.
But I would preffer ecternal sensors, not ibternal ones. I have 4x4 which reqiires regular tire rotation and ibternal sensors are not suitable as I would need to remove and refit them on every tire rotation.
Is there external versio? I couldnt find it on AlliExpress.
The one I mentioned in my first post has valve mounted sensors and obviously works with MTCB head units

Why? Sure, if they are somehow hard coded to location its sort of funny when they might not match the picture, but you only have 4 tires. Its pretty easy to check them when they are low.
You want internal sensors for TPMS. Less chance for losing them.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cable-Bueto...Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-/271315933336
I understand the point about tire rotation and internal sensors. Would it be possible to make the same rotation in the app, since all sensors are doing the same thing anyway? Eg. If you rotate your right front to right rear, make the same in the app to correspond with the sensor location?

Yes, mapping is possible. Depends on product.

Hi All,
I have also interest for this. Somebody could give some information ? It works, or any other bluetooth type, using with external attached bluetooth 4.0 dongle ?
Well, I found out most of the connections for the TPMS as Klyde didnt send me a lead - power and ground were easy same as the DAB box, then, as its just a mini usb connection its just data + and data -, I know where the one of those wires goes, and narrowed it down to 2 pins for the other, I ve tried both pins and several versions of the TPMS app, but cant get anything. I ve tried looking for BT devices on my phone I thought I found 1 but my phone wouldnt connect and the headunit's BT wouldnt see it, my phone wouldnt connect and after removing all the batteries on the TPMS it still showed up so it couldnt be that. Totally stumped, just cant get it to work.
TPMS-Type
Let me inform you that for some time I'm trying to find a TPMS system that works well with Android auto MTCB-C I have made several purchases and placements from various vendors I will mention my experience to help future stakeholders.
For GS, KD, and JY machines, the following set works very well:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TPMS-for-SilverStrong-Android-CAR-DVD-Car-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-4-Sensors-Alarm-Tire-Temperature/32803916037.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.IU13AC
It has its own very friendly app and it works with automatic start-up in the background and immediately informs if something goes wrong with the tires of the car, I recommend it for the above!
But last time I discovered another type with external valves that works very well with a Klyde machine and that's it:

Thanks for your post - I have the Last type, Klyde themselves supplied me with it, but they did not send me the lead and they did not reply to me when I asked for it, so I had to make one, but I still cannot get it to work, could you post a picture of the lead (the end that plugs into the head unit) so I can see which wires go where (I have seen the picture in your 3rd link before, but I cannot see where all the wires go) ?
Hi all,
Have my android head unit installed in my car and regardless of what i try, like different antennas, power amplifiers, etc, i cannot get the AF to work. I can be driving and completely lose the current radio reception unless i manually tune the radio. Enabling RDS does nothing except show the station name.
It's really annoying as my standard facrory unit worked no problem. Can anyone help?
Thanks
What kind of car is it? A lot of newer cars have two antenna wires. If the installer didn't get an adapter to connect both you will get very poor reception.

Thanks for reply. It's a hyundai i40. As far as i can make out there only the one antenna cable connected to the unit and there is the DAB cable just left to one side
Had a chat with an installer today and he told me that hyundai are one of the hardest to get right as the radio, amp, antenna all work as a system and as soon as one is removed the ability for all to work right is lost.
Don't know if that's just waffle or if he really knows, but thats what he told me anyway
Hi Peeps
Really sorry if im in the wrong forum and im here to learn but hope someone can point me in teh correct direction
Im in the U.K and we dont seem to be able to buy Joying head units which seem to be popular in the states.
Im looking at Eonon or Xtrons mainly with the quad core processors and 5.1 Lollipop.
Is there anything i should be looking for or best avoided?
Thanks for any help, i really appreciate it.
Should be able to buy joying in UK they have a warehouse there try Amazon or eBay

Thanks, Ive done a search on Amazon and ebay for Joying e90 and get no results, ive also been on the carjoying u.k website and they dont even list the e90 as an available option
Buy from joying direct they will ship via dhl quick

I have the xtrons e90 unit in my car. Seems similar to joying ect. One thing that took me ages to figure out as no instructions or guidance was given at all, was that there is two 12v yellow power leads and both need to be plugged in. One needs to go direct into the fusebox or to the battery.
Apparently BMW loses constant 12v power after a certain timer, roughly when the alarm system kicks in. So this means all power is lost to the head unit, including the small amount it needs to keep the MCU memory, which is your radio station presets and stuff. Also causing a much longer boot up. So I had to wire one of the cables into the central locking system fuse. Dead easy but you do need to buy a few bits from amazon for a few quid, otherwise the unit is a ballache.
Hope that helps
Cheers peeps, great advice. I've found auto pumpkin UK now so may order from them. The Xtrons , eonon and pumpkin all look identical so not sure if there is a difference as all seem to come from the same factory?
Should I be looking for the quad core 5.1 versions ?
Cheers all and thanks for the advise.
P.S I'll try and find the central locking fuse and use an add a circuit fuse to it.

I have just installed Erisin 3067B purchased directly from their website. It's a MTCD-based head unit. So far it is worth the price, although I had to struggle a bit to get everything working. In particular:
- The manual is almost useless. Moreover there are no installation details
- The head unit is very big and it is needed to move the AC controls in the lower part of the dashboard. I do not see how it is possible to add also the seats heating controls (I don't have them in my E91)
- Cable routing is easy. There are some videos on youtube regarding installation of Zenec car units. It took me 1h to get everything set
These are the problems I encountered:
- Quality of microphone, especially the external one, is very bad.
- The radio presets are lost every time I turn off the radio. No other settings are, therefore I guess it is software bug.
- exFAT is not recognized. So far I tried with a 64GB SDXC card and I only managed to read it when formatted as FAT32.

There are several empty positions in the fusebox. Do you suggest to wire the BATT+ wire directly or to install it with a 10A fuse?

you could do either apparently.
Personally i just purchased these, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01E3PQWUE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and used one of them in the fuse for the central locking system, as it will always have 12v. Was really simple, tad fidly running the wire that's all.

I am having similar problems myself.
-BMW i-BUS it doesn't detect it at all. I need the CAN file for the unit, but no luck as of yet.
-Home button on the unit doesn't work anymore? Factory restore fix's but it stops again after 2 days!
-Most of the settings are locked from view. I access developer mode and it auto kicks me back to bluetooth phone menu.
- Front camera displays track and theres no option to remove it. So annoying!!
- LED colour APP has gone. This went after I did a MCU upgrade which I was given by seller.
- When I power up Clicker is always set to on. Front camera always resets to normal instead of saving mirroring. Other various settings are forgotten as are radio presets.
- Doesn't detect iPhone via USB only Bluetooth. But does charge... Slowly.
You had any luck with yours? I have a E90.

Hi. Try from AliExpress. Dhl or tnt etc 5 days is here. Yellow cable must ti be connected for the settings memory.
In my other cars, I have simple 2 DIN Android units which are easily identifiable and I have flashed different ROMS and MCU firmware to those to get the desired interface and features that I needed..
But with the new unit I purchased for my 2003 Mazda 6, I am having trouble working out what type of unit it is.. I have no idea if there are other ROMs available, or different MCU versions. I would like to figure this out, so I can potentially work on fixing some of the little annoyances that this unit has.
The unit was purchased from AliExpress here.
I have attached screenshots of the details in the settings app, and the 'car settings' app also.
Overall, the unit is very responsive, and the software isn't too bad.. but it has a few issues i'd like to attempt to fix.
Any help identifying it, or links to any MCU firmware or Android ROMs for it would be appreciated.
Thanks
The main issue I want to resolve, is the 'cold boot' each time I start the car..
Now, I have noticed that when turning off the car, the stereo backlight is turned off (yet the LCD is still on, and can be seen if there is light from the correct angle, and the touchscreen still works) and the stereo doesnt actually 'shutdown' until around 8-10 seconds later. This leads me to believe that its possible to configure the unit to not shutdown, but instead 'sleep'.
Would I be correct in assuming that the MCU is in control of the unit being sent the shutdown signal? Therefore, I would need a different MCU firmware to be able to achieve my goal?
I've seen lots of different MCU and ROM versions for other units, so surely there is some for this unit also.
I cant help you I m afraid, apart from telling you that they are deffo not MTCB/C or MTCD/E units.
As Typos1 has said, it's not an MTCx unit.
I did find some info here: http://4pda.ru/forum/lofiversion/index.php?t877165.html
