I have noticed that no matter what app it is , big in size like 500 mb + or small in size 5 mb , it takes multiple seconds to get installed.
It gets downloaded immediately and then it gets stuck in installing for about 7-8 seconds .
Did not used to happen on my iphone.
Did not see this thing in any android as well .
What are your views?
It's normal for Exynos phones. It was the same on my s9+ and s10+. Just Samsung being lazy and not wanting to optimize.

That is not the case with the s21. There are plenty of videos showing the exynos next to a snap and the speeds are the same.
Especially with the updates of the last months these speed issues are cleared out.
The guy having slower installations could be due to a 100 reasons and he has not specified enough info to rule in any conclusion.

Ok, then all my Samsung phones must be defect, including my s21ultra.
Side by side with my Huawei p30 pro, I updated Samsung browser. It took 5 seconds on Huawei and 12 seconds on my s21 ultra. I uninstalled the update and reinstall. The second time, Huawei still took 5 seconds, but the 21ultra went up to 15 seconds. The 3rd time, 16 seconds for Samsung, still 5 for Huawei.
Huawei p30 pro has a 7nm SoC that was launched in 2018 vs a 5nm 2021 SoC on Samsung. What a shame for Samsung.
This the only problem I have with Exynos phones. Samsung couldn't care less about optimising app instalation process.

If you are so certain it is exynos, at least try and explain how do you know that installations are so much faster on SNAP?
My s9+ was okay with installation speeds and my s21 is way faster.
I just tested and installed a 119mb APK, it took exactly 4 seconds for the installation to be completed trough a file manager.

Read my previous post. It's not just Snapdragon. Uninstall the Samsung browser updates and reinstall. Tell me how long it takes. What was the 119mb app that you installed? So I can try on my ultra.
It's not just the size of the apk that matters, it's also what app you install. Some of them take much longer than others.

It all boils down to pre-existing software and settings. Some may be user adjusted settings, and others are pre-adjusted ROM settings by the manufacturer. At the end of the day it could also be the playstore being different. And also security settings performing extra scans that slow the process down...

So I updated my Samsung browser and it was an 80MB update, the moment it downloaded, it took 14 seconds to install.
Then I updated my Brave Browser and the download was 78MB, the installation was barely 2.5 seconds.
It likely also has to do with the way the app files are structured.
This was my experience with my last 3 exynos Samsung phones. You can try and explain things, but the result is the same. Exynos is still slower in installing and updating apps, than Kirin or Snapdragon. I tried 3 different Google accounts, în case something was wrong with my old one and no change.

The Google Play services (under GMS) is responsible for installation, not Samsung. And you just said it was not the type of CPU but software with this statement "Samsung couldn't care less about optimising app instalation process". Also, you are comparing an android version 10 phone to 11, the new Google Play services now support app bundles, delivery optimisation, instant play and various other changes to the installation process.
And you do not even know if the phone is Exynos and you are already blaming it. Look an issue, must be Exynos! Did you compare an Exynos vs Snapdragon S21? No you compared apples to oranges and got Exynos is the problem.
Do want to know the real reason? The malware scanning device care (under automation) slows it down, if you turn this off it's a lot faster.
You anti-Exynos people are like anti-vaxxers, "Did someone say Exynos?! Did you know that it is the number one cause of climate change! It is also responsible for the new delta strain of Covid!!!!".

Please do not speak poorly of people who have reservations regarding vax's. You do not know for a fact if they are right or wrong. Plenty of scientists have come out and expressed serious concerns about vax's, old and new, and it is a fact that big pharma suppresses what doesn't suit their interests.
Other than that, you are perfectly right about the comparison with oranges and apples and software functioning differently on different devices and OS versions.
Exynos is not to blame for climate change. At least not with the s21 series. Previous generation sucked a bit more, compared to Snaps.

You drunk or something? I'm not anti-exynos, quite the opposite, look at my post history.
I don't even know it's Exynos? How is that? The OP phone is exynos and my phone is exynos and I compared it with kirin and Snapdragon phones. Not just s21, but s9+ and s10+ too. The other phones have that app scanning thing on too and it doesn't slow them down.
And a cpu can be optimize to run better through software uodates, wtf are you on about? I didn't say Exynos is a bad cpu.
Btw, I had my anti-covid vaccines months ago.

These vaxes are messing with your minds it seems
Have you tried making a spreadsheet to track the app and the install time?
Then do a factory reset and reinstall the same apps and track the times in another column, to see how close the times are.
It could be the way software just is, like how when you have a fresh windows 10 installation, every app installs super fast, but after a while the registry gets cluttered and subsequent installs are slower.
maybe android is similar in how it just slows the software install process as you install more apps?
But I think this theory could also explain the bizarre behavior reported above, where the same exact app is installed/uninstalled but the time needed to perform early installs is less than the time needed for the later installs, even though it's the exact same app.
Use ApkExport
APK Export (Backup & Share) - Apps on Google Play
Manage and extract your apps.
play.google.com
Make installable copies of all user, system apks and their updates. Store on SD card or flashstick/PC/backup hdds.
Reloads are a snap, no Playstore or download lag. Takes me about 20 minutes to load 4-5 gb of apks on my 10+. Only exactly what I want loaded gets loaded. Works perfectly.
You get the apk version you want rather than what Playstore is dooling out or has removed.
Apple? Bah-ha-ha-ha... sucks. What boring and expensive devices iPhones truly are.

I made this thread for general discussion on the topic and you guys are fighting like cats and dogs.

That still doesn't change the fact that Exynos is slower in installing apks, no matter the source.

Hello,
I got the Tab S2 8 inch or WiFi only model - SM-T710 on launch day.
I was really excited for this since I was upgrading from an iPad 4, which felt slow.
However, I was disappointed with many things :
1. Most Apps are not tablet optimized.
2. Asphalt 8 tends to lag, although I never noticed this with my iPad.
3. Only 1GB of the 3GB RAM seems to be available most of the time.
4. The play store won't let me access the US play store from outside the US.
5. Part of the Tablet feels hot after light usage.
Can rooting my device help with the above mentioned problems?
How can I fix these problems? Normally I would have done these myself but since I'm completely new to Android I wanted to ask. I've been using iOS since 5 years and I've never had any problems like these. I'm also a fan of iOS jailbreak, tweaks, etc..
One more doubt : Is there a chance that the Tab S2 will get the Android M update?
Thanks,
Trix

1. No issues on my s1
2. Can't help with that, don't play games
3. Perfectly normal on an Android device, Android doesn't waste ram, it uses it to make your device faster.
4. You probably need to load the firmware for your region.
5. Same as the s1

1. Unfortunately, that is going to be a common thing with Android. Google built scalable interface based off the resolution, which makes apps run on tablets. As opposed to the iPad, there isn't a scalable interface feature but instead it uses upscaling, which makes apps very large and blurry.
In addition to that, Apple forces the default settings of the app store search to only show iPad only apps. This means, if you didn't update your app to support tablet interfaces manually, you wouldn't show up on the default search. This pretty much *forced* all of the developers to update their apps, if they wanted it to be seen of course.
But, since Android scales all of this natively the developers are lazy and simply do not update their apps for tablet interfaces as much as iOS.
2. The Tab S2 is a very powerful tablet, but if you're comparing it to the Ipad Air 2 there's going to be no comparison on how the iPad is much stronger. The processer on the iPad is more powerful than some computers people have at home. However, Android really is not a gaming platform, it is more of a productivity platform. There are way more games on iOS than Android, so if you're into gaming (on mobile) stick with iOS. Both platforms have hardware that is compeltely overkill than what most of the gaming apps actually require.
3. That honestly is no different than the iPAD, the amount of memory free should not be a concern unless apps are closing more often than you would like. Keep in mind that iOS struggles with memory as well, you can browse the internet and minimize the app and come back and it will reload the entire page, losing the spot you were scrolled to. On Android, it actually remembers the last spot you were at, simply because it has better memory management.
Keep in mind tablets are solid state, with incredibly fast read and write speeds. Ram can actually become irrelvant, because it can simply page the memory to the solid state drive and it would be effectively the same speed as real ram; you could actually get away with running with 1GB of ram easily. It's just that there is a limited amount of read and writes to a solid state drive, so they still use dedicated RAM to extend the lifespan since it is cheaper than solid state drives in general.
4. You can use a VPN to bypass that restriction.
5. Both the Ipad and S2 will got hot if you try to game on it, these devices don't even have fans in them so I don't know what you are expecting.
With that being said, I much prefer Android over IOS. When I use my iPAD, I've pretty much given up searching for an app because it simply did not exist with such restricted permissions on the iOS platform. With Android, I can customize my tablet to my liking, and I really like the keyboard support on it; it is much better than Apple in that regard.
I own both tablets and I use the Android far more, both have their cons and advantages. But for me, I don't like mobile games, I find them too simple. Thats why I love Android because I can emulate all consoles up to PSP/DS ERA.

The read/write speeds of ss flash memory is nowhere near as fast as ram.
The Tab s and s2 both have very fast ram.
If manufacturers relied on flash memory for caching and system read/writes with today's fast cpu's the system would bottle neck and crawl.
Fast cpu's need much faster memory to keep up and run smoothly.
Run some benchmarks and you will see the difference.

Yes, there is no question that RAM is much faster, but if you're comparing it to normal usage most people wouldn't see the difference. The Surface Pro 3 64GB edition runs off 2GB of RAM and constantly runs at 90% peak memory and ironically performs just as fast as the 4GB version simply because the solid state has such a high read and write speed.
To a certain extent, all tablets page to the harddrive. As far as I know, there aren't many flagship android models that feature like huge amounts of super speed ram.
When you're comparing it to "much faster", say if you are travelling 500mph and you could go 1200mph, but you already get to your destination in less than a second so for the average user, they probably wouldn't even notice the difference.
I suggest you do more research on it.

The average user is not going to notice their device is faster if the device is perfectly capable of loading basic tasks such as websites at reasonable speeds.

1) Yup that is android sadly there. Though more are coming out with tablet versions of the software... FINALLY!
2) I haven't noticed that myself on the device as I do play that game as well
3) As long as it free's it up, there is no issues with having ram used. It will dump memory as needed if apps require more. Typically most apps don't require that much ram so no issues.
4) Thats just a country/region issue with the device ID. If rooted you can fix it at least. I travel and when outside the US the store is still US to me.
5) Most devices are like this. Gaming will make it hotter as well, but that goes for Android to Apple as well. Now, this device is cooler than previous ones I've had under heavy gaming and light usage gets a little warm.
As for the new OS, we can assume so, but since its a little ways off it might take time still for it to "Officially" come to the tablets.
I just bought mine yesterday and one feature under the settings was missing... there's no user under the device the options only are:
-sounds and notif
-display
-motion and gestures
-applications
there is no user. also in the notification panel there is no manage user.. can somebody help me plsss.. thanks in advance!
Tab S2 problem
Hey guys, hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction. Looks like i got screwed with my Tab S2. I bought a 9.7" cellular version from someone on Kijiji (Equivalent to Craigslist in Canada) and it was working just fine. I installed some apps and was just playing around with it. About two days later it started freezing and restarting when i would play a game or watch a video. Since then it has gotten progressively worse. I boot it up and 30 seconds to a minute later it turns off on its own. I thought it may be a software issue so i did a hard reset but the problem still persists. I took it into a Samsung repair center and they said that it is a pre-production model (IMEI is 00000000000000) and they cannot help. Any ideas what i can do to repair it. I just hate the idea of having a $400 paper weight.

Anyone experienced these probs?
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Problems/Issues
Model#: SM-T815Y
Android Version: 5.0.2 (latest)
1. random hanging 3x-10x/day depends on usage.
problem: hanging that leads to black display screen
solution: soft reset -> press the power button+volume down for atleast 10secs
or until boot up screen shows up.
1a. random hanging usually happens
-when downloading or opening something in the Playstore.
-exploring the settings of the gadget.
NOTE: I noticed that it happens frequently when clicking/using apps
that is related to its Internal Memory.(eg. problem#2)
2. Calculating the Size of the Applications
problem 1: it keeps saying computing even after 30mins of leaving the screen.
solution: unmount sd card>remove sd card>insert sd card.
problem 2: can't clear cache of an application.
solution: need to restart the gadget for it to take effect.
3. Auto Restart then it didn't boot up properly. It only stayed in Samsung Screen.
CONCLUSION: it's not normal to have these kind of problems 3gb of RAM,32gb of internal memory, up to date updates.
: very few widgets are activated, very few downloaded apps installed.
: strongly convinced that the cause of problem is its hardware specifically its internal memory.
So I just got my new phone and while I was installing apps from Google Play restoring from backup, I decided to run a geekbench benchmark on it, and well the results are attached as below. Don't get me wrong I know that performance is supposed to be lower, especially given that it is still installing apps, but the device isn't even hot and I would have expected it to score at least a 7 or 8 K. 5K is really quite disappointing.
Talk about a strange thread. I wonder what compels someone to think it's a good idea to benchmark while installing apps and then trying to quantify that with the phone has poor sustained performance? That's a bit of a reach, don't you think?
Um ok.
Do us a favor and return the phone if you're disappointed with the performance from a benchmark and not real life testing.
This is like having a gasoline truck that normally gives you 16 mpg. Then you slap on a tow hitch and haul a 5 ton tailer and you're surprised the truck now only gives you 9-10 mpg.

So, you think that the device doesn't use any system resources while restoring data and installing apps?
I hope you are just trolling or I(and the other fellow members) didn't understand you correctly, otherwise - it's normal. Benchmarks are run while the device DOES NOT do anything else. Otherwise system resources are used and the scores will be lower. By how much will depend on the workload. For example GPU bench will not be affected that much as a CPU or storage test while installing apps.

Some system resources? Yes. I'm just rather surprised it's close to half of such a powerful phone's resources.
Benchmark people are the reason I left the PC scene. No one judges anything in tech based on what it's actually used for, only what it can or can't potentially do. And that's the reason the industry is crappy and overpriced as it is. Same thing has happened to the phone industry.
You ran a benchmark that pushes your device to limits you will NEVER EVER get it to again with daily usage. Not even if you're playing music while playing Fortnite and other apps in the back.

This might help you. Android apps are written in Java. This allows them to be compatible with a wide variety of Android devices. When you install them on your phone, they are compiled to machine code specific to your particular device. This only needs to happen when you first install or subsequently update your app. However, this process is pretty resource intensive, and larger apps like Facebook take more resources. This slows down the rest of the phone. So the worst possible time to run a benchmark is when you are doing the most system intense thing you can do on your phone. The results are unsurprising and normal.

This post doesn't help much. Anyways, seems to be AUB7 with the March security update. Just performance improvements as well as camera improvements
Yes. Sorry! Good lock asked to re run it's optimizer. So far feels fine.
Actually I commented on the update for this version, as I prior had the note 20 ultra HK version (snapdragon dual sim) and it was notorious for not getting updated. Like ever. Was most frustrating. Glad to see the ultra does get the updates.

Yes is AUB7
because the SoC is completely different,Can't be compared
The kernel version number is still 20700993. It should be that the Exynos model has relatively large room for improvement and optimization. The Snapdragon model has limited room for improvement and optimization, but the initial performance is more stable than the Exynos model.
This is my long-term experience using two SoC versions of Samsung S series and Note series
However, the Exynos model encountered major problems. The optimization efficiency is improved and the speed of pushing updates will be faster than the Snapdragon model (except for the S20 / Note20 series of the Korean Snapdragon version)

I'm just curious as to what people who keep having bad battery life have running/installed in their phones. It very well could be an app problem, but I suppose that it could also just be a Exynos related problem - I just haven't seen any deeper detailed explanations of the problem.
Would you mind telling me a bit more so that I can get a full understanding of this battery usage issue? I have the SD888 version and this phone has the best battery of any device that I've ever had prior... Fill me in if you can. Thanks!

i just did a full reset for my phone, coz i heard that using smartwatch does affect the battery. i just will try anything for the moment.
ok so, the phone for me is super, i do not care about benchs or whatever, it does wat i ask and more except for battery it is draining fast. i get 5SOT when lucky, i have 5g on, 120hz, fhd, Bluetooth, sync, auto rotate, basically everything not gonna lie.
but i think anyone do the same, i have duel sims both on, i never connect to WiFi coz im always out.
am i being a whiner ? or should i get more than that?
i had an s20fe before and i think it used to last more.
the thing is i see battery draining once i use the device, like i see it lol
no heating tho or any other issues, i have package disabler on so anything useless i kill it asap.
wdyt?

Thanks for responding! Hmm, interesting. I can usually hit 5 hours SOT with 120hz and 1440P enabled, however, that only brings me to around 40-50% battery.
Maybe it's got something to do with that package disabler app. I don't have any potentially continuous background apps running on my phone and I also use Samsung's built-in battery options (sleep mode and deep sleep mode) for apps that I don't need/receive notifications from. Aside from that, the only other thing that I've done was remove almost all of the stock, built-in Samsung apps over ADB as I happen to use all Google apps (and doing so over ADB is the only reliable way to do so on Samsung devices).
Perhaps one or all of those things are what is helping me out - so give em' a try if you'd like to. But let me know how the phone reset works on your battery life! I hope that you can get it sorted out!

Hmmm , interesting .
I use package disabler coz it serves as the ADB method but this doesn't require a PC.
Might try that one as well.
So you only removed the srock apps, nothing out of ordinary?
Coz some lists asks to move too much which becomes weird.
Did the fresh install, awaiting a full charge to complete and will give it a test run.
Thank you mate, will update for sure.
Most of the battery drain for me is associated with the crazy google play services. I can't figure out why this service is draining on average 3.5% per day! I have tried every trick in the book but nothing seems to work

Hmm, interesting. I guess the package disabler app should work then. But yeah, I've only removed stock, Samsung apps that I could directly replace with Google apps (things like phone, messages, calendar, calculator, etc) - so nothing out of the ordinary. It just stinks that Samsung made it so that the user cannot disable those untouched apps in the settings like they can on most other phones... Regardless, I'm still hoping that your reset does the trick! But with that said, just remember to give the phone a few full charge uses prior to giving it a battery duration test (as it usually takes like 3-4 full battery uses for this phone to adapt to your usage).

I can only speak from *my* experience but running 5G/LTE almost continuously as opposed to Wifi would probably drop my battery life by at least 33-40%. This is from my experience with my Note 9 when travelling overseas and not having access to wifi. With my S21 ultra, since having it I have 80% of the time been on wifi.
Finally, after a long battle with Mi 11 ultra and MIUI bugs for many past months, I jumped the ship from Android back to iOS and got myself a shiny new iPhone 13 pro max. I lost some 500 hundred USD because of my misadventure. In the interim, I used S21 ultra for 1 month but did not find it amusing either.
Reasons for switching from Mi11 ultra were;
1. Forced to use bug-loaded beta software on my only device because the stable versions were lacking in either features or security.
2. The back screen was a failed experiment for me. Did not find it useful as I was never a selfy-taking guy in the first place as I don't like seeing my own depression a lot.
3. Although iOS is not that open to use, it still has got many features to keep me hanging around. I would miss sideloading apps with that ease....
Sorry for hurting anyone's sentiments here. I do not intend or wish to ask anyone for switching to iOS. I am just trying to inform a googler a little bit...
I am very much thankful for the support I got from this community. Stay blessed.
You force yourself to use beta versions and then complain for bugs, lol
Do use understand what "beta" stand for?
And what do u mean lack of feature and security?
What feature exactly?
Lack of security? Ios never show that your phone now has what security update date, so people will never complain sh1t things about that like Android, LOL
I owned 1 ipad and android phone, and now I only use my ipad when my child want to see some youtube video, when my phone is charging (30 mins to full charge) and i can use Facebook or chrome when waiting, just all.
I used the beta because the stable ones would not feel secure as the security patch would always be a few months old.
Lack of features means the difference between the features in EU ROM beta (weekly) vs EU stable and not between iPhone 13 pro max vs mi 11 ultra.
Comparing Android vs iOS is a never-ending argument. Both have their pros and cons. It depends on a user what fits his/her requirements. I traded the openness on android for optimization and security on iOS. One example of a real-world impact of optimization is the battery life; despite having a smaller battery, iPhone pro max lasts for 2 days on a single charge for me. The overnight drop in the battery percentage is barely 1-2%. Mi 11 ultra needed to be charged twice daily and the overnight drop in the battery would be between 5 and 10% depending on strength of phone signals I guess. The fast charging speed was convenient but having to connect it to the charger twice daily was not.
Almost every week, Android trojans-loaded apps are detected even on the Play Store, let alone in the sideloaded apps. In such settings, Google either needs to be able to deliver the latest security patches to all vendors independently of their collaboration or shut the hell up about security. With their current approach, only Pixel phones get timely updates. The rest of us are left at the mercy of vendors who decide when to provide us with those security patches. Samsung still does some justice for being consistent with its update policy. Xiaomi is a total loss in this regard.

"Both have their pros and cons. It depends on a user what fits his/her Requirements."
You said everything in that statement, I am not trying to pull you back to Mi 11 Ultra, but some of the stuff you said earlier is not justified in my opinion:
First: Beta software is what it's called: "BETA" as in "FOR TESTING" I would not use it on a phone that is a daily driver, as I am using Xiaomi.EU Stable I haven't encountered any bugs, the OS is rock solid, and I don't feel like i'm missing out on "features", also about the lack of the latest security update: are you downloading tons of ****, from third party apps and sideloading a ton of apps? otherwise the latest update is not the most crucial thing, if you keep apps updated by google play store you should be more than fine, I never had any issues on that regard and I'm on android since 2015, finally the battery thing is totally justified, I am not heavy user so mostly a single charge a day is enough for me, but I totally get having to charge this phone for twice or more a day for heavy use, luckily it's half solved by its awesome 67w wired and wireless charging, so in the end, if you are staying with the phone long term, I would agree iphone 13 pro max should last way longer, due to it's awesome battery life, but if you are a person who likes to advance with technology, Mi 11 Ultra and in the future when Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be released is the way to go, (I personally upgrade every year), but again as you said:
"Both have their pros and cons. It depends on a user what fits his/her Requirements."
the good thing is that we have choice, and if I would feel that I had enough with technology and would like to settle down, I would get an iphone 13 pro max (or whatever top end iphone is released by then) as my daily driver as it is a get and forget device with software support of 5+ years,
sorry for long rant, I just love talking about phones
My only reason for having the beta was to be able to have the monthly security patch. Because it was the only way to obtain the patches as soon as they became available. I did sideloaded apps. Morever, my browsing habits are not very secure in general. So for me, a security patch used to be a big deal. I donated Mi 11 ultra to a friend of mine who does not give a thing about security patches. He is happily using it on stable global version

I hate apple but the difference between iphone 13 pro max and this phone is chalk and cheese
I don't think any SD 888 phones Are power efficient but this one is probably close to the worst of the worst
As a heavy user I have to turn down the display resolution and refresh rate and still need to charge it 2x daily
The 67w charging is nice , I don't think I could live with a device that takes 2-3 hours to charge anymore
I usually change phones yearly anyway so my next will hopefully be charging at 120w or faster
Xiaomi needs to work on the software as well instead of just churning out millions of phones a week
This phone is a worse user experience than my Huawei mate 20 pro in some areas and that just shouldn't happen at this price range
In my little opinion, Xiaomi does not have the capacity and expertise to deliver flagship experience. They are better known for cheaper mid rangers. Look at MIUI; it is the same experience from under a 200 phone to the ones above 1000. Even ads are present in their flagships which I was unable to comprehend because they charge premium price for their flagships and the ads did not need to be on them as they did not need to generate additional revenue at least from the flagships. I know I could block ads but that is not the point. The point is Xiaomi mindset to not differentiate flagships from mid rangers from software point of view.
Before an existing flagship is optimized, Xiaomi shoot us with another flagship. This circle continues and the flagships are sort of demeaned/insulted lol.

I don't get any ads, but I do agree, the software must improve the fact that optimization takes time is sad and annoying, to think that the hardware is really good but the software is limiting it... Which is a shame

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out. See ya!
If you want a flagship that can compete with Apple and exceed them, Samsung.
Unfortunately Samsung runs hot and cold, so you got to grab the hot ones like the Note 10+.
The last year for both Samsung and the Adroid OS has been wretched. Samsung sunk a lot of money and effort into the Fold series and their other flagship lines suffered heavily as a result... and Samsung got chump change for this epic blunder.
Android forgot its users buy Androids because they don't like iPhones... idiots.
Both these corporations need to learn the definition of insanity; making the same mistake and expecting a different result.
iPhone is no gem and are behaving more like their CCP partners as time passes. Their invasive scan for child porn almost was fielded a few months ago. They will try to do it or something worse in due time, the writings on the wall. They were testing the waters without a second thought to your privacy or the performance hit you would suffer because of it.
iPhone charges more for memory (and memory is not expandable), accessories and service. For what? They been using the cheapest labor force they can find for years.
iPhones lack the free Galaxy Store customization found in Samsung's. You decide what your Samsung will look and act like to a very large extent. iPhones are stiff.
Apple charge fee for providing unfragmented, cleaner OS, and super optimized third party apps for each and every iPhone. A15 bionic is superfast, more efficient, and more intelligent than snapdragon 888 (Exynos does not count!). I agree iPhones are stiff and there is room for improvement in iOS if you compare it to Android. You obviously would need to forego some features and open to enjoy some other set of features when you switch the OS.

The Android platform allows the manufacturer as well as the user to largely load the device as they see fit. A large portion of the burden of optimization falls on the user. Be it something the manufacturer overlooked or more commonly misconfigured settings and/or 3rd party apps. It's simply impossible to test all the variables with so many variants and 3rd party apps.
As the end user it becomes your task to do what it takes to debug -your- own unique platform.
I have a few rules I learned to follow with Adroids and have my own favorite flavor. I've learned over time what works best* and almost never update. I run stock Samsung's with a Package Disabler and VPN firewall.
Result is a fast, stable platform that fulfills it's mission. My oldest N10+ is running on 9, it's current load is 21 months old, still fast and stable with minimal maintenance. My next upgrade will be going from a 512gb to a 1tb V30 SD card.
All my computers are dual drive including my smartphones. 512gb doesn't cut it nor does having the critical data folders on the same drive as the OS. All my crash and burns be it PC or smartphones never took out the data drive(s).
Regardless I redundantly stagger backup my data drives. In the end the only thing that is not replaceable is critical data. This multilayered approach is the method I use to physically firewall that data.
Ideally I want two 1tb SD card slots on the smartphone
*customized to my own unique requirements but not done overnight. A sometimes steep learning curve, but ultimately with less limitations.
May I ask whether security, evolving and improving privacy, latest features, improved battery life and individual app optimizations do not matter on your end? If so, the setup you just described is optimus prime!
For me, these things come first before anything so that I do not worry about grey internet habits .
Customization on iOS is indeed limited. But with iOS 15, many things have improved. Homescreen can be customized to a great extent. Such as changing icons, hiding labels etc. can be done via the shortcut app. While on the other hand, the mess created by gesture based navigation on third party launchers on Android have effectively rendered these launchers redundant. Customization on iOS are steadily increasing while on Android, they are decreasing according to my understanding.
Optimization of third party apps for iOS is the most underrated feature of iOS. I am not much into playing games. But I do play chess and angry birds. These two are way better on iOS than on Android. Especially the chess.com app is dope. WhatsApp on iOS is also better than on Android. Ironically, even chrome on iOS (webkit based) is cleaner and more power efficient than chrome on Android (Blink based).
Again, iOS fits my use case scenario better. This may not apply to others. I get this
Security has never been an issue since I been running on Android 9. I has one maliciously scripted jpeg that damaged some files in the download folder; I deleted jpeg and repaired or deleted the damaged files. Gone.
Had one trojan preloader that squeaked by the Samsung browser but deleted it before it was able to get it's payload, DOA. Both were almost 2 years ago. I now either back out of back websites or very rarely if really bad close the browser and clear the cache. The Brave browser is pretty much bullet proof. Karma Firewall lets me know if anything is running in the background as well.
The scoped storage in Android 11 and 12 is unwanted and unwelcome. It's sucks cpu cycles and screws up trusted apps. Many apps are firewall blocked by me anyway if they don't need internet access.
It took a fair amount of time to optimize the N10+ over many months. My SOT ranges from 7-12%@hour, tap on AOD with cell serveice active runs at >.5%@hr (typical charging/discharging pattern show below). The settings on the new N10+ Android 10 variant are almost identical and it gets maybe slightly better battery life. The Android 10 variant also retains the physical navigation buttons option as show below, which I prefer. Not sure which variant I like more but the Android 9 one is easier to troubleshoot.
Stock One UI launcher, Galaxy Good Lock modules, and DIGI clock. Hidden short cut switches everywhere, 4 in the clock widget it's self. Many more on the side panels including gesture navigation via One Handed Operation plus.

I respect your choice 100%, will just tell you i have the MI 11 Ultra eu stable rom 256gb Chinese version phone and never have any isues at all.
Im on the 12.5.20 rom to BUT, because i have to use Fastboot for the new miui13 instead of TWRP which i feel secure on, i must make a change to, just to another Android brand, i had the S21 to when it was released, we never liked each other... And its a big shame because i love this mi 11 ultra.
But im not a ROM or even a beta guy i must admit, now i tried a phone with eu rom, but never again.
I still hope to be safed by a new version TWRP, before i buy the next Android, so i atleast can have some different launchers.
Good luck out there
This GPU definitely isn't optimized for vulkan at all, any one having issues trying to game at all? Even cod mobile stutters on low settings, and unplayable using 5G
Never played this game but it sure looks okay to me.

Nope just looked into in in depth, the Mali G710 is more focused on battery saving than stepping up the game, so inferior GPU, yes, yes it is inferior, look up specs and what it does before use comment your expertise, p7 is clearly a downgrade, Google can clearly add call screen and faster camera to p6p but do not, and the VPN could be added to p6 or p6p but is not, Google kinda screwed us tbh, p7 is mainly just better modem that's all, FA else
Just run any test, any test at all, you'll see the p6p greatly out performs p7 and also more battery drain, so how do you work this out, what use going to comment now? tech experts lol, clear as day p7 got **** on besides software upgrades that's all
Basically Google are suppressing the pixel 6 and 6 pro on what they are ment to do just to make the p7 and p7p look better
And the mali g710 is over a year old! There's a newer G715, out early this year

Sounds like user error...CoD is pretty popular don't you think millions would report if they can't play it?

There's barely millions own the p7 or pro and even if a million people owned this phone only about 1000 of that million would game
I posted videos showing the performance has been found to be perfectly fine. Raw numbers don't mean jack crap. It runs games fine until you hike the settings and make it not fine. It's not a flagship and was never intended to be a flagship but the graphics performance between the two is not as large of a gap as you're making it out to be.
