Hi!
I've always wanted to play Bedrock on Android, but the problem is that if I switch from my phone to my tablet, I could't pick up where I left off. I'd have to plug my phone and tablet into my computer, copy the world files, etc.
So, I made an app that does it for me (and now you, too)! It's called Bedrock. Basically, you give it access to your minecraftWorlds folder on your phone, and it will let you backup your worlds to Google Drive. Then, on your other devices, you can download that backup and pick up where you left off, seamlessly.
It can also just be used as a world backup app. So if you wanna do something drastic, but don't want to risk your stuff, you can make a backup first in case things go south.
Oh yeah! And if you need help or anything like that, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I can give you a refund if you don't like the app, or if it's not what you expected.
Love you all, and thanks for reading!

OK, so my mom insisted that she needs a Nexus One, and that I need to root it for her and put a custom ROM on. She lives in a country where Android phones are not very available. Anyway.
I know what you're thinking - I'd be stuck doing tech support for my mom. Well there was a week of that, and then she ran around bragging about her phone to all her friends, and now THEY ALL WANT ONE.
So I agreed (read: got guilted) into setting another one up for a Close Friend of the Family. Now when I did my mom's she pretty much gave me her google account info and I just set it up for her. What I'd prefer to do is install a bunch of apps and then wipe all the userinfo so they have to put in their own google account info. But when I go into recovery and do a wipe, of course, all the apps go, too.
Is there any simple way of doing this?

If the apps you're installing are free and non-protected, you can back them up with AppMonster, copy those .apks over onto the new phone, and install there. No need to set up an account for most of those.

They're all free apps, so that's not a problem. I figured I could adb install, or something like what you're describing, but my concern is whether or not they'll be auto-upgraded through Market (or rather whether they'll get notifications saying updates are available).
Yes, they will be. If you use Titanium for backup, for example, you'll be able to restore the apps before logging in to Market. That's what I do when I change ROMs.

That's pretty cool... except I realise I still need to do the initial login to the phone to run titanium backup. I want to send this to people so when they turn it on they get the "Welcome to Android!" screen, so they get the little tutorial and get to set up their account directly over there without me having to tell them "Ok click menu, then settings..." etc.
Also, I'd like to setup some applications for them - set up browser homepage/bookmarks, some ADWLauncher settings, and preferably which icons/widgets are on the desktops. I know Titanium can do that (though I'm not sure which setting is the desktop) but again, I'd have to login.
Is there maybe something I can wipe to make it rerun the intro screen?

I think if you do that it just starts with no account, like if you start it and skip entering n account.
Just build your own gapps-style package with everything you want included, then flash it without even logging in.
Alternatively, using your own phone, backup the apps and settings, and use App Monster out similar to backup Titanium as an apk. Then you can install everything without ever having to sign in...
You can skip the initial sign in by touching the four corners of the screen when the android appears, starting top left and working clockwise...
So if you have already signed in, just follow these steps:
Wipe all data
Boot up and skip sign in
Install apps (Titanium if rooted, App Monster if not)
Make whatever settings you want
Power off

Ok, I understand that we should have backups with clockworkmod and/or titanium to avoid these issues.
However, what happens if I don't have a backup of an app that I've paid for and somehow lose it?
Does the market recognize that I purchased the app before and let me re-download? Do I have to re-purchase the app?
With itunes for example, if you don't have a backup of purchased music you have to jump through flaming hoops to get it back and you're still not guaranteed they will work with you.
How do this work for us?
Thanks,
Neudle
Short answer is yes if you downloaded from the Market and it's tied to your gmail account it will let you re-download it provided that it shows up in your Market at the time you want to download it.
That's the way it worked for me. When I flashed Vegan and did the market fix every app I had paid for in the past (even on my old phones) synced and downloaded. Even setcpu which wasn't even functional till this week.
FWIW I use the USB hookup to back up apk files to a computer, an external fixed disk or ZIP disks (a good use for all the old but functioning Iomega stuff around here). I do this even before installing a new app, just in case. If I have a need to do so, I just drag the folder contents back to the tablet. And with files on the computer, Carbonite also backs up the files which enables retrieval from any computer I may use when traveling. I put all bookmarks onto the Web space included with the ISP account. It makes a complete recovery or transfer to a new tablet just about as quick and easy as anything I could think of.
I use Titanium... Any app I d-load from the market or elsewhere I back up.
Even if I do not intend to use it in the future... Who knows, when time comes I might need it.
Do not rely on the publisher to keep the app on the Market. I have purchased a couple of apps that are no longer available to download on the market that aren't available anymore, Transformers G1 comes to mind. Best bet is to buy Titanium Backup and set it up for Dropbox syncing.
Thanks for the help
Thank you for the replies.
I've only purchased one app (dungeon defenders), all the others have been free and most have been downloaded for side-loading anyway.
After I got the system rebuilt I logged onto google and dungeon defenders showed up as purchased in the market.
I'll try to keep titanium up to date but still glad to know they honor the original purchase.
Thanks again,
Neudle
I never knew this and just maybe you all would find this kinda maybe interesting as well.
You can manage your apps on your device, including update, uninstall or even install apps on your device via. (you don't even have to touch your device.)
https://play.google.com/apps
You have to be signed in with your Google account that you use on your Device
I left one example of how i made use of the Managing apps on the desktop via Market.
This gave me a interesting idea actually after learning about this. I tested and this worked.
You can setup a little system to where Tasker can initiate a command to ask Titanium backup to restore data, wipe data, or even launch say a "Find lost phone app." (used a random find phone app)
I used the web based app market to install "Find my phone." When it gets installed(whenever it does), Tasker initiates a setup to restore the data using Titanium backup, and launch the app. Thus allowing my phone to be traced.
Reason this is a great combo in my opinion is because Titanium backup allows u to store its default setting and load them up even if TB isn't installed.
you could even have ONLY tasker on the device then allow tasker to initiate BOTH apps instead of just the one. Although i will admit this does require some knowledge of how Tasker works and how to setup circumstances =/
However ina real world circumstance, i highly doubt this little discovery would matter since everyone knows if u find a phone turn it off asap. unless hopefully u leave it accidentally at a restaurant with good people or some other good place like family. =/
Just thought id leave a possible combination i found using the desktop based android market. =)
of course you could always just leave a "find phone app" installed at all times, however im very OCD about whats on my phone as I am sure a lot of flashaholics are also (least i think they are =P )
Hello all
Hope I am posting this in the right place as I don't post often here.
So I have a Note5 that was supplied to me by my job and they pay all the bills for it so I can't mess with it too much.
But while perhaps not as much with the Note5 I'm also pretty tech savvy and just for my own assurances . . . I think it would be a really good idea to back up everything on my phone ahead of this Nought update that I see should be coming soon just to be on the safe side and because the device and all it has on it is rather critical.
So what would be the "best" way to do that?
An for that for what I mean for best would be something that I can click once, and its put everything I would need including any and all additional programs I have on it as well as all the info they have and and all the configurations of "all" programs needed to a PC, as well if I were to have to get a new device would be one click and all would be put back on.
As well would say naturally any and all multimedia, e-mails, contacts, texts and all things like that would be back.
Essentially I would want to completely recreate my device as it is now to a new one if that were needed, and for that basically would want a very simply and if possible one or just a few clicks for that.
So not sure if that is possible but if there is any solutions like that I would be very grateful for what ones there are.
As well to mention that I would mostly respect this to be something that would be a program that would cost some money, but provided its not to $$$ say in the hundreds, that would be OK.
Thanks greatly for any help.

If u r rooted. Use twrp makes exact copy as is rite now
Thanks for the heads up on that, but I can't root the device as I can't break the Knox.
So does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks
Try Smart Switch
The Smart Switch is official software from samsung in which you can almost backup everything of your Note 5 or any Samsung Devices.
You can backup media files as videos, photos, Music. Also documents, settings, your apps, contacts, Call logs, messages, Shealth data, S NOTE, Homescreen etc.
Almost everything you can have your phone.
And its also easy to restore. Both Backup & Restore are one click solutions in smart switch.
Hope it helps.
Smart Switch is incredible. It can back-up and restore pretty much everything. It allows you to even do several backups and restore the one you like the most. And if you change to another Samsung device you can restore (for example) a backup from a Note5 to a J5 or maybe even a Tablet. Very useful!
Was wondering if I'm doing this right or not.
Normally when I upgrade to another Samsung device , power on the new device go through the motions then after done I use Samsung smartswitch. Any better methods?
Cheers

If you can its better to do a new setup like only restore photos and contacts the rest do it manually in most cases setting up a fresh clean runs smoothly than restoring from backup
The only thing that get's backed up for me is my contacts and photos from my Google account. I've always liked doing a fresh install on new phones, not really sure if they run better or not. Little more time to set up but I kind of enjoy it.
I usually use Smart Switch to transfer only messages (SMS/MMS) and apps.
I do not have it bring settings across. Contacts, emails, browser book marks are all sync'ed to my Gmail Account. And Samsung internet browser book marks are also sych'ed to my samsung account.
Then I manually configure my favorite settings, widgets, short cuts, and launcher.
I'll use smartswitch, then use Helium to move apps AND their data over after smartswitch has done it's thing. I have a ton of apps that I need the data to migrate and since we can't root the only way to do that now is Helium. It is slow and clunky compared to Titanium, but at least it works (knock on wood don't want to jinx it), or has in the past with some effort and time.
It takes quite a bit of time (many hours) to get everything from my old phone to a new one. Part of me wishes I hadn't upgraded just so I don't have to go through the process. Oh well.

Why not just use the built in tool the phone maker provided built in? The software you pointed to, probably skims your data and sells it. Their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are sketchy as heck!!! What info do they reserve the right to share and with whom? It doesn't even give clear definition of that info, and they don't even give a list of who their "3rd party affiliates" are.
