is it best buy under 300$(

I need a long lasting mobile with good specs already tried honor play got screen burn issue in bright white color and flickering display don't know that peice was defective or its model fault.
Anyways need suggestion on what to buy for 3yrs use and need good specs and camera good enough to take notes picture, mi A2, redmi note 6 pro, honor 8x, honor play or asus m2 pro?
Which one should i go for? Poco f1 is not an option cux of cheap built and screen bleeding issue and soft bugs.

I recommend the most obvious then ...well actually if you want more customizablilty and a strong sturdy phone with exceptional performance for day to day tasks then mi a2 is good...if you want no customized and on disgusting emui but with a siginificantly faster 710 go for it

Well i have heard battery problems in MI A2, how is redmi note 6 pro for daily drind use, is it durable for at least 3yrs? I have tried honor play but i don't think it's display or hardware is durable.

Well I haven't got any seriously because unless if 6 hr and 2 min of sot is battery issues you have a problem however redmi note 6 pro is not bad either apaart from annoying notch, lack of rom support and also slower chipset

Well snap636 should be fast enough for normal day use and medium size games and i am talking about battery issue that when battery get to like 4% it take hrs in charging it and i don't think that everytime 4g net + google or games will work up for 6hrs.
The only thing i want is a durable phone with medicore specs to run smoothly

You ppl are experts this is the first time i am trying xiaomi phone the prob is if this one got problems within a yr the my father will make me spend my 3 yrs without mobile. cuz he wants me to buy sam but i don't like sam aside s series.

My luck is quite bad with mobiles, zenfone got bricked even after repair some it got bricked again and then purchased honor play then it had screen burn issue so got refund and today honor play price is decreased by 60$ but i don't know to trust honor anymore and all mobiles seems to be concentrating on specs instead of hardware durability.

This phone has NO issues with battery life. The media and the journalists feed us bull**** all the time, they see a number and make an assumption. My phone lasts easily a full day with normal day of use with a lot of calls, a lot of searching on the net and some video watching in the car with some audio book listening. This phone lasts more than my old Samsung s8, than my newer Samsung s9 and on par with my last year mi a1.
Many people already said battery life is good if not greqt., But are afraid to say it is excellent because the tech YouTubers said it's "meh" for some reason, even though many of their phones that they own last less than this one.
This is one of the best phones under 300 and dare I say it comes close to even the bigger budget phones.
The only thing I can't comment on is gaming as I do not play games on my phone. I listed all my activities above you can make your educated guess. I have two phones left right now that I use that is my older Samsung s8 as one of my all time favorite phones, and this one, and I am thinking of getting rid of the s8 as well. The s8 as originally more expensive phone is fluid in terms of UI, better looking to me, better camera hands down, and more powerfull, but to be fair I could not care less about most of the things except I really enjoy the fluid UI Samsung has build in the past years with the S7 s8 and s9, but I am happy with the stock to so whatever.
Go for this phone dude, you won't be sorry in the next 3 years unless you play heavy games (for those I have no clue, you will have to ask some one else).
The only thing I would suggest if you have the budget is go for the 6GB ram version, that will help you last longer with your phone for sure, it's a future proof more than anything else.

Haha, If you don't like poco for the reasons you've posted forget the a2. Screen is a nightmare (compared to other lcd not oled, before some "akhchually" carebear shows up). Bugs talk for themselves. Build quality ok for the price, but it's disgustingly copying the iphone x, or it's just me.

I mean the only key feature that many people think of approaching the Poco is the chipset it has for it's price....that's it

nightmare and disgusting are words that are usually used for phones of the 5-10 usd from china with shipping. I would not call any disadvantages or shortcomings that you think the phone has (obviously comparing to phones with higher price tag or with better individual parts but with other parts lacking) nightmares or disgusting.

How customizable is 9T pro Global

How customizable is the 9T pro global version ?
I would like to just use the global software that comes with the phone but read there's just standard google apps installed on the 9T pro
Does this mean that useful mi apps are not there, particularly the dialler,I'm interested in using the call blocking features of Miui,
Are all other features there,ie,second space,AOD and customizations,
Thinking of importing this guy from Hong Kong 8/256
Don't have time for flashing the EU rom and having to maintain that consistently,

recorder. Now some users report the lack of miui dialer,

one already built in, it seems so riggin' unnecessary....
Well, I'll know for sure in a week, when it arrives.
My Nexus 6 has served me well for 5 years, but
the battery is no longer what it used to be....

Yep,kinda unsure what to expect,going for the same variant myself,dont think the call recording Wil be present in the global version ,but would be useful.

I have the item in my cart at the moment for roughly the same price,yes,looks like big upgrade for you, I'm coming from a Oneplus 6 so only a small upgrade(or downgrade to some)

Yes the notch isnt great,only advantage is notification light and fast face unlock,think I would like the full screen display though

Decided to go for the regular Mi 9T, figured I don't need 8/256 anyway and the 730 is more power efficient,the pro for me would probably be Overkill and I've saved €100,
Though no doubt the pro is a beast,was very close to getting it and google apps are still useful plus saw video today and all other Mi apps seem to be there on the pro.
Still don't know what apps are on the global regular 9T but haven't seen anyone complaining about the Mi apps on that.
Anyway best of luck with your order,I got mine off Honor buy because of quicker shipping,hope I don't run into problems with them

Hehe.....of course it's an overkill to me as well, but you only live once.
In five years I haven't managed to fill the 64 gig rom on the Nexus 6.
And I've played it quite well with the 3 gig of ram on the phone.
Still, if you purchase phones at my pace, I thought "go for it"
The included apps are the same in both 9T & the Pro. The key
seems to be the true "global" version. That goes for the LTE
bands as well. Same on all versions, if it's the global one.
Let us know what you think of your new phone, as I will do

Yes,I suppose in your case,your coming from a pretty old phone,Ive got a bit of a problem with buying phones. I bought the Nokia 7 plus last year which turned out to be trash,sold that and got the Oneplus 6,Was gonna keep that till next year on a 2 year cycle but here I am now,figure the 9T will be good enough for a year at least and if I want the Oneplus 8 next year I'll get that.
I'm excited for the 9T,Im bored of Oneplus and MIUI has plenty of features to play with,now just have to get my least favorite things with new phones,case and screen protector

Question Is it worth buying the Mi 11 ?

I want to buy the phone but I have heard terrible thing about battery life and overheating issue even without gaming. Not to mention how most people feel about MIUI. I though have not found any review of MI11 with MIUI 12.5. I want to know if these problems are fixed or still there. Or should I go for OP 8 Pro ? I am not a power user and wouldnt be doing games. Thanks.

I just got the phone last week, and these are my thoughts:
The display is simply amazing, one of the best there is.
The main camera quality is really good for the price, i got some amazing shots out of it.
The speaker quality/call quality is really good 2, really love the harman kardon touch.
In regular use it doesn't get that warm, only when u push it to the max, it gets really hot.
The battery life is ok, not bad not great (somewhere in the middle).
This is my first Xiaomi phone, and i must say i'm positively surprised about MIUI, i really thought i would not like it as much as i do. It really has some quirky features/touches, and i really love that haha. I just really hope, that they fix the battery issues with the upcoming MIU13, which is set to release this summer.. other than that i really love this phone!

I originally had a Mi 11 when it first came out and the battery life was terrible so I sold it. However, I got a good deal on a Mi 11 Ultra so I bought it and either the small upgrade in battery size or various updates in the past couple of months have changed the battery life entirely. For example right now I have 76% battery life at 430pm where before with the regular Mi 11 it would be in the 30% range.

How much more usable than Eu ROM ?

Question Is the 10 Pro worth upgrading to from an 8 Pro?

I'm considering upgrading to a 10 Pro from my current 8 Pro but I'm curious if current 10 Pro owners would consider it worthwhile. I'm not having any huge issues with my phone but the back of the case is cracked pretty bad and I'm thinking about upgrading before I start to have problems.
I'm rooted but running the stock OS13 and would probably do the same on a new phone.
What's your opinion? Thanks in advance.

If your goal is just to root and run stock, then it'll be a great device for you in my honest opinion. It's really held back by a lack of true recovery tools, which has led to no true custom ROMs for the device anyways.
But the 10Pro can be rooted, unlocked, and updated just fine as long as you take the time to learn how to do it properly without flashing. It's been serving me this past year just fine, still working pretty much as brand new.

@Prant thanks for the reply. I would assume the update process would be similar, restore stock image in Magisk, update and then install Magisk again before rebooting but I could be wrong. I read that the MSM tool works for the 10 Pro now and I linked to the article below. I don't care about a custom rom as long as the stock rom doesn't get glitchy when rooted, which it hasn't so far, but a recovery tool adds a layer of comfort. Anyway, thanks again for your input.

The MSM Tool for the 10 Pro requires an authorized OPPO account to be used and no bypass has been found yet (there is an entire thread about this on XDA).
DroidWin is just a copy paste website and should not be trusted.

I notice no major difference from my OP8 pro to OP10 pro.
I upgraded because my OP8's battery wasn't lasting as long. And Im not going to "settle" for the OP11.
In the end I get the following benefits:
- slightly longer battery life
- updates will keep coming for a while
- Android auto works reliably in my car.
For the last one, ever since upgrading my OP8 to Android 12 and 13 it doesn't connect to my car reliably. OP10 with Android 13 works fine.
If money isn't an issue, it's probably worth it for updates. If it hurts to drop 700 or so, then stick to the OP8. It's still a great phone.
Oh.. in the US, the OP10 isn't dual sim. I used dual sim. This is a feature I lost.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is a great phone and unless you're having battery issues, I'd stick with it. Developer support and wireless charging are huge advantages.

I sold my 8 pro to my neighbour, I took a chance on OnePlus by not checking out the 10 pro beyond its specs...
Gone is the excellent macro camera, the photocrom camera, the superb XDA dev's and the plethora of mods for it.
It has the same ability to root, a great camera, zero development, very few mods besides the one I've brought myself like center clock..
I truly miss my 8 pro, it did everything I could ask. The 10 does have a better CPU/GPU and more battery but that really is the only upside.. in regards to the phone itself you'd be hard pushed to see a difference.
My advice is this:
If you've treated your 8 pro well, you've not overcharged it and you've not dropped it then I would retain it... If you've treated it like a piece of crap then I'd say get the pixel 7 pro...it's quite cheap now and has some great development going on...
It's a sad time for OnePlus users, however we can learn from it and I hope OnePlus (oppo) learns some valuable lessons from this, they'll lose a valuable fan base who's influence goes way beyond its 1% purchase scope compared to the average users of OnePlus devices.
Time will tell I guess, but right now I would say avoid the 10 pro and the 11, they are of the same Ilk

I changed my phone from the OP 7 and I don't see any noticeable difference in speed (apps launch in the same time), and the default camera takes blurry photos when there is little light (where in the OP7 this was not the case). I wouldn't change if I were you (I would consider OP11, where there is faster memory).

For sure not i have both devices!

If custom ROMs are something that's needed then I'd avoid the 11 as they won't be there... Hope im wrong but I doubt it.

See some people in this thread recommending the OP11, and I can honestly say that's a terrible choice from what I've seen. The 10Pro is the last one with some semblance of recovery, from what I've been watching over at the 11Pro forums... things are even worse over there.
They even have went as far as to block calling from outside China after 30 days of use outside their home country, if you didn't activate the device in China with a china sim first. With refusal to help customers, stating things like just activiate it in china.
With the lost features, i.e. no wireless charging, less speed over USB, worse radio for USA.. I do not think we as a community should be supporting this company at all going forward, this will definitely be my last OPlus phone but I will continue to use it until it stops.

@PieceKeepr I echo Prant's statement, it matches exactly my experience and sentiments. OP10 Pro has been the best OP phone I've used, going all the way back to the 3T.
Fast wireless charging
OnePlus lock screen gestures
alert slider
excellent screen
Most importantly, easily rootable.
Those are my top priorities in a phone, and no other brand has all of those.
Also:
I really enjoy the way the phone feels in the hand, especially with the carbon fiber case from OP.
Stereo speakers are great
Camera is good/sometimes great
Performance is great
Battery life is pretty good (hungry CPU, but large battery)
the new OS is not as bad as everyone complains about, IMHO. Much of the things I don't care for are Google's fault anyways.

I have both devices and I've put the 10 Pro up for sale.
You barely notice any difference, except that the OnePlus 10 Pro version of OxygenOS 13 is abominable.
I'm still hoping for official LineageOS support hopefully soon, but...

Well I would highly recommend not buying this rubbish of a phone.
OxygenOS 13 is now a buggy piece of chinese rom that tend to crash every now and then.
The cooling in this phone is non-existant - overheating very often resulting in prompt "Your phone is to hot, we had to shut down some servces".
You won't be able to use wireless android auto while wireless charing (too hot).
The list goes on and on.
After a year of struggle with this I will be selling it next month - what a relief.
OnePlus is dead for me and damn, I have OnePlus One, OnePlus 5 (the best phone ever existed) and OnePlus 8T, so I can say I experienced myself the fall of this brand.

What do you recommend, besides a OnePlus device for custom roms? I have been looking to buy a OP9P (for the MSM tool/roms) as an upgrade to my OP6, but with the overheating and bad battery life (888), its not looking good.
If the custom rom scene is dying, I don't mind getting a OP10Pro and doing what I can with de-bloating and rooting...

The last golden OPlus seems to be the OPlus 8 Pro if you can find one of those. Full recovery tools available and a plethora of custom ROMs. Being only 3 years old it won't fall off for the next 4 or so years comfortably.
That being said, I've never had heating issues with the OPlus 10 as other people have said. The device is really good for running stock + root imo, the battery life has also been about the same since I bought the device. Still runs PS2 games like a champ on lunch breaks. One full charge a day, and it only takes like 25 minutes to charge to full. Perhaps user device care has a play in this thread just as much as the silicon lottery.
Google Pixel is probably the best otherwise, but I'd personally be super weary using their phones as the exploits coming out of research departments are insane.

Yeah, I've heard good things about the 8 Pro. I borrowed a Pixel 6a for a week, thought it would be the spiritual successor to my OP6. The vulnerabilities are definitely too much for a new device, so I gave it back.

Coming from the OnePlus One and then the 6T (what a phone!), I really had to get used to the 8 Pro's curved screen. I'm still not a huge fan of the screen, but otherwise I do love my 8 Pro! With LineageOS it's such a super clean and enjoyable experience!
I also shortly tried the OnePlus 3 and 3T, which I bought for my parents when I had the 6T, and I gifted my brother the 7T Pro later. Man, what a slick, gorgeous phone! The only slight screen curve is perfect!
I think I'll stay on the 8 Pro for a while then. Maybe Nothing releases a good phone in a couple years. Or maybe OnePlus somehow decide to return to their roots and release a really incredibly specced and priced phone someday again.

Question Mi 11 ultra in 2023

I am half tempted buying a mi 11 ultra but is it still relevant in 2023 ?
But my biggest concern is the dead wifi/Mobo since I already own a vanilla mi 11 that needed a board replacement

Very happy with mine.
Was tempted to upgrade to a Pixel 7 Pro or a Honor Magic 5 Pro (I care mostly about the camera) but honestly it's very hard to justify. Pictures remain best in class even vs the latest phones, the phone is really fast, screens good. It's really hard for me so far to get tempted by a new phone. And I do want to get tempted... Maybe will need a Mi 13 Ultra or a Pixel 8 to get me to upgrade (I tend to trust DXO and they haven't ranked the Mi 13 Pro very well. Seems the 11 Ultra still does a better job overall when it goes down to the camera)
So yeah if you find a good deal on one you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for the reply that's why I am tempted to buy it especially since it's cheaper now than most snapdragon 8 gen 2 flagships with basically same specs but as I said my biggest concern is the phone dying within few months as many reported " summer can reach 45° in my area"

I live in Hong Kong, which is pretty hot in summer, and never really had heat related issues (That being, said I don't play games, so I don't hit much on the processor)
For sure if you buy it, you shouldn't pay more than half of a curent flagship price (The phone is 2 generations behind, it should really be cheap)

I can back you on this, I'm also in Hong Kong, Mi 11 Ultra with Global rom MIUI 13 for dinner time already, and i do game, Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Nikke. No heat problem and wifi issues. Great phone, especially at the current price point. Something to stand out from the all look the same phone lines out there.

I agree with all the feedback shared above. It is still a beast of a phone and runs multiple application parallely without any lag. Camera is great. If you are a AOSP fan, you have couple of good ROMs as well - PE+ and Project 404 roms.
Knock yourself out with a Mi 11 Ultra

I bought an used Mi 11 Ultra for 500 Euro a week ago and i rly like it ! I couldnt find a phone that i like more than this despite it being a 2 years old model.
It was with China ROM and 2 days ago i installed EliteRom free version (had to wait 1 week for bootloader to be unlocked). So far great experience.
I am planning to try some magisk modules i found here on the forum for underclocking for better battery life.

After a long time I try a Xiaomi device. As you can see on my posts or at my signature I use to own tons of devices. Pixels , Samsung's , and iPhones every year almost all of their flagships. Anyway I love the mi 11 ultra when released but it was way too expensive for a Chinese phone. I found one one month ago for around 300€ 256/12 white ceramic (CN version ) and give it a go . Phone is extremely snappy fast and reliable ( with Xiaomi eu Rom ) after few modification if I can say it with elite Rom and a few magisk modules like snapdragon 888 power efficient etc phone is great. Very good battery life I get easily around 7H sot with daily use ( no gaming but I use all social apps more than 7apps) phone never overheat like stock and I can say this is the fastest charging phone ever use. I can easily recommend this for a daily device in 2023. Special it the person who gonna buy it knows how to unlock bootloader and debloat this plus all the mods I mention above. Camera is also top notch that's why its still on top 15 phones of dxo ..I hope this helps cya

Could you mention any of the settings or steps you've done on that phone. I don't remember having a rooted cell phone. And I would like this equipment to last me several years, in addition to a screen duration of more than 4.5 hours that it is giving me

Well there is plenty of videos out there how to unlock and root a Xiaomi in 2023. After that it's easy to flash twrp and any Rom u want.. I prefer elite Rom cause it's miui based and give some extra options like 60/90/120 hz.. u can easily put the phone to FHD+ AND 90hz and get even more juice. Out of this battery. Feel free to ask anything u want .

Well, I will follow the steps to root.
A question regarding that ROM, or the AOSP. Is it true that the MIUI camera doesn't work?
And yes, what I look for the most is battery performance

I don't try aosp but on this Rom miui camera is working great. . Follow the magisk modules as well I post on another thread I see u saw it .
