I want to ask about LTE in MI 5.
i have installed MIUI 8 (Global Stable, Global Dev, Chinnese Dev) and CM 14.1, and from all of them, i cant use my LTE. everytime i use *#*#4636#*#* and force to LTE only, i lost my signal and got no service. and im very sure that the problem isn't coming from my sim card which is LTE ready. anyone can help me?
If it's happening with every ROM, then it is either:
• The SIM card,
• The phone hardware, or
• A frequency mismatch.
You don't think it's the SIM card, but have you tried it in a different device to eliminate that possibility?
Also, does the MI5 support the frequencies in your area?
Lastly, I'm not familiar with the phone code you are entering. Does that give you the results you want when used on another device in the same area?
Hello,
I am now having issue with my K20 Pro. I'm using 12.0.5 xiaomi eu
Not certain but possibly started after I upgraded to MIUI 12.
Issue is that the mobile data never works when signal is 4G/LTE.
Internet only works if you find a stable 4G+/LTE+ signal. The system would tend to constantly switch between 4G and 4G+.
Another option is to use 3G/H+ Preferred option. H+ works fine but as we all know this is the older network which means slower but decent data
I have read some solutions to delete and reset your APN. But it never works either. Also compared the network behavior between other phone like Oneplus 5T and it doesn't have the issue even using the same network and same location.
I'm not sure if this has been raised to Xiaomi directly. But I'm hoping there's a fix for this.
Thank you!!

I dont know if its exactly the same issue I had , but I give you my solution , it might solve your problem as well :
1. download Activity Launcher from the playstore.
2. Open it and search "miuiBand"
3. Choose the network LTE band of your Operator(look it up in google) for example LTE B3 (if you use only 4G , look at LTE and not LTE Preffered)
4. Toggle Selection ON (Top).
Hope this solves your issue as it did mine.

I have this. However, I can't understand why it suddenly changes reverts from time to time. Do you always take a look at it whenever connecting to Mobile Data?
As I also check in Network Cell Info Lite, phone still connects to the band causing the problem (Band 21)

When you get low coverage or restart the phone or get out of plane mode , your network settings go back to default (band will be chosen automatically), but forcing the prefered network type ,you will prevent this from happening (you will only have to worry about restarts /phone / modem).
Making the choice permanent IS possible with root (Check this Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...ific-network-bands-snapdragon-t3744243/amp/).

Btw, I cannot get Network Signal Guru to work with Magisk v21.1 anymore
Mi 9T (not Pro), tried with EEA stock MIUI 12.0.3 and Xiaomi.eu stable 12.0.6.
Last time it worked for me on EEA 12.0.2 with Magisk v21.0
I tried now that Samsung Band Selection app., it complains that hidden activity is not found (on my Xiaomi.eu 12.0.6) and it cannot open band selection options
But I don't have a problem with bands, just curious to tesr the things?
Bought a Xiaomi Redmi note 9s last month for Christmas for myself.
It had MIUI 12.0.2 on it by default.
Played around with it for a whole month and everything was working perfectly...4g LTE included.
I don't have internet at home so I use my phone has a hotspot.
Average download speed was 60 megabits per second.
... Until I upgraded to 12.0.3, I then lost LTE and only connected using H+
So beware before upgrading because I have not found the solution yet other than flash with pixel experience ROM.
Edit :
Changing Network detection from automatic to manual fixed it !
My Redmi notes "global" phones 4 & 5 had to flash new ROM to unlock bands.
Hope this helps
I realised that this issue is most likely due to baseband limitation with our Network provider. Given that I'm using a China Variant, the basebands my phone is lacking needed basebands here in the Philippines. What I'm looking for now is a QPST guide for SD855 to activate at least base band 20. I can't find any that has enabled it thru QPST yet.
Any of the three carriers, China Mobile, China Telecom or China Unicom? Like making phone calls, texting and 4G/5G data connection?
If the phone is unlocked it should. I used a Motorola Z3 play on one of those networks and it worked fine.

Hey, try this module I made. Flash it with Magisk.
The stock Pixel image does not contain Chinese and Korean carrier mbn files.
This module adds those files and enables the switch for VoLTE.
This is installed systemless-ly so if any issues, you can uninstall the module and your phone will revert back to how it was before.
I don't live in China so I can't actually know if it works, but I'm positive.
Hi. I don't know how to fix this. I have mi 11 cn version flashed with eu rom.i have 5g and lte signal for both sim cards but they can't make or get in coming calls( my network tries to go back to 2g/3g signal to make a call). I tried both my sim cards to another phone and they are working just fine. I was able to manually switch them to both 2g and 3g with the other phone. I did the *#3646 thing to manually choose a network but it still doesn't work. Tried to reset this a couple of time and even reverted back to cn rom still no luck.
Haven't studied this in detail so not even sure if it is even an issue. But I heard china 5G or 4G etc networks and phones use certain radio bands that are different than in US or Europe or other continents. Perhaps this is why your phone has no 5G reception...?
i have 5g reception.the one that is not working are 2g and 3g.this was working before.im not sure if it it due to eu rom.i know the signal are good because i tried my sim card on a different phone and all receptions are working.

Check your apn settings....they may be wrong
apn settings are correct
Hey guys, bought a Mi 11 Ultra (Global ROM) off Giztop and plugged my T-Mobile sim into it and have almost no data at all times. Occasionally it will get data and I will get a message through or load a Youtube video but it seems very rare. While driving for long periods of time I will be on call with someone and it seems like every 4-6 minutes I lose service and the call drops. I am currently lost, have reflashed the modem, etc. I was wondering there was any APN setting fixes or something in developer settings that I may have missed. I am completely new to this phone so please throw the kitchen sink at me..
THANKS.
It seems strange because I have TMobile as well and my phone gets better reception than TMobile phone. Check your MIUI version your APN make sure is in T mobile fast and turn off 5G
I have the same phone from Giztop chineese version on T-moble and I'm having the same connection issues with this device i have to keep rebbot the phone to LTE or 5G to connect is it the rom version number is
miui 12.5.20
I had issues with CN MIUI version. I was on a video call and was dropping often. I switched to Global version and its been working since then.
