Does the Docomo version of Sony Z3C support MHL? I bought a micro usb to HDMI and it doesn't work, I downloaded MHL checker and it tells me it's not compatible. It could be that I bought the wrong thing or does MHL works only works with D5803 firmware and not SO-02G firmware?

Hi everyone .As the title said. I wonder if the Japanese brand phone can flash other roms(e.g. Global or Taiwan or something like that.),or have someone tried?
If i flash other brand ,what issue may i meet?
I want to buy a Xperia Z and the Japanese seems to have some functions that I need. So it is very important for me to know the answer so i can make my final decision.
Really thanks
I made the opposite
I flashed SO-02E on UK C6603, excluded Base band files, every thing was running great except NFC.
I think you can, but you'll lose NFC, and native exFAT support of ext SD.

Is it possible to fix it?
it's possible to flash the latest firmware 14.4.A.0.108 on the model c6943(brazilian) even though it is only for the c6903 model? i think that the only differences between the brazilian model and the c6903 is the digital tv and the radio, the rest is the same, i guess

I think its not possible, i have a C6943 too and i really want to have 4.4.4
well, i'm not sure, cause when i started on my c6943 the first thing that i did to get root was a downgrade for the .534 firmware of the C6903 version, and everything goes ok, the only thing that changed was the model on "about android", the rest seems fine, the same as the C6943 version, but i don't know if gonna be the same on this new 4.4.4 firmware
i'm tired of the .757 bugs --, principally the microphone bug on whatsapp and the battery drain

Technically saying you can flash it. Sometimes you lose signal and wifi but you can get it back by flashing original C6943 modem.
But it's risky and I suggest you not to do that but just wait for the update.

Yes, you can. You'll lose the DTV ability (and FM radio), but that's the only difference. Apart from that, the two phones are identical. I've not done it with the 108 firmware, but there was no issue on previous builds.
for those have Xperia Z1 C6943,
i did the update using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/ftf-official-sony-firmware-14-4-0-108-t2800623
and this one for root and dualrecovery:

and it is really smoother

Hi,
Are there any known issues when flashing a Docomo branded Z3c (SO-02G) with the generic FW (D5803)?
As usual after resetting the phone it tries to update the NFC firmware. But that fails with "NFC firmware update Failed (-1)".
Is this a known phenomenon? Is the Docomo version any different than the generic one?
I attempted to install Android 6.0.1, and after two days I have not seen any problems. Only nfc. Does not work

The nfc still works outside Japan and without using docomo uim. Try to update using Wi-Fi to latest firmware using OTA
No, it won't work with D5803 version

Any Japanese SO-02G with D5803 firmware won't have NFC usable. If you want to use NFC, then buy an original non-Japanese Z3C handset and you can change its OS to UK, US or Global without facing any problem.
Btw is the problem still there with Z5, X Compact and other latest models made for Japanese DOCOMO Network or is it just Z3?
Hey guys you know you can downgrade your z3c with out unlocking the boot loader of device. Yes it really works. I downgraded my own device from mm 6.0.1 to lp 5.1.1 and it really works and much better battery ? timing now even with nfc firmware update failed on my docomo...
You can download lp 5.1.1 from here.
Xperiablog.net/forums
And enjoy...
One more thing. You can downgrade any Xperia device without unlocking the bootloader. Not just z3 compact only...

I need help. I wanna know that is it possible to disable nfc on my Xperia z3c docomo without rooting the device.
It's root procedure is so complicated and some says that it can't be root without unlocking the bootloader which manufacturer didn't allow on this device....
