Broken USB port, can't upload system via ODIN

Hello everyone!
My SGSA has broken USB port, but it wasn't such a problem. I had uploaded TWRP and all the time I wanted to change the software it was just few clicks. This time I tried to install some other ROM (I was looking for perfect performance, so I tested about 25+ ROMs within a month. This instalation has formated /system partition and as I think many others, beacuse I can't even boot into recovery, phone stays at "Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070" logo. I am able to boot into "Download Mode" but beacuse of broken USB port PC detects it as a malfunctioned device. I wanna add that I tried maaaany PC's and many USB cables to connect.
Hope for help, cheers

Get that USB port replaced .. it doesn`t cost much . in india it costs only 200-rupees . Because if everything fails ODIN is your saviour and he can`t rescue you without a USB to PC connection .
I also have the same problem. After trying different ROMs, today I try to use Odin found The USB port is not recognized,
Is a Rom damaged a file or even damaged the Usb port? Can repair?
edit_2017-0205
I am very sorry for the reckless speculation.
2015-0903 I used Kies to upgrade my Chinese Simplified version of i9070 to ver4.12. Since the Simplified version of stock rom has something like Baidu and other useless apk
So I used TitaniumBackup to remove a lot of apk, more than a year have not used a USB cable link, just use the SD card to transfer files, this may be the reason, of course, may be physical damage to the USB port. Roms cause USB not to recognize just guess.
Now my phone recovery mode is still working, USB port can only charge..

If your phone does charge, then it means that the phone USB port is not broken.
Make sure that you have Samsung USB drivers installed. You can also try other PC USB.

Change cable.
Change port.
TWRP should support OTG, but YMMV, it's very device dependent.

As I said in PM, you absolutely need a working usb connection. If you already tried everything suggested in our PM chat and what said in the previous post, I don't have any other ideas. Check your computer drivers, phone drivers. Make sure to connect your phone directly to your computer (do not se external usb hub/ports, use the ones that are soldered to your computer MB. Avoid usb 3.0 ports, use 2.0. Try with someone else computer...

Can I root my Note 9 withouth a pc?

Hello guys,
I think the charging port of my Note 9 is a little bit damaged, because I have tried multiple pc's and multiple cables and the phone will only charge and is not being recognized as a device on my pc's.
I would like to flash TWRP on my device to flash a custom rom after... But the official TWRP app in the Google Play Store is not showing an TWRP image for the Note 9 to flash.
Is there a possibility to get TWRP and eventually a custom rom on my device, withouth using a PC?
Any help would be appreciated!

no.
u cant use a an app that would theoretically need root to accomplish flashing a ccustom recovery on a non rooted phone.
regardless, u need Odin or heimdall or any app that can access the device via usb. search and read.
( u need samsung android usb drivers on the computer. )
Thank you for your reply.
I have used Odin a lot before for different phones. I've installed the correct drivers onto my pc's and used different kinds of cables to check if that was the problem, but the phone only goes into charging mode, when connected to a pc. I have read that a buggy charging port can actually cause that problem.
I think I do not need root to flash a custom rom. Flashing a custom recovery would be enough, I think? Correct me if I'm wrong. There is a mobile version of TWRP (the app) that could actually flash TWRP on a phone via the app. But the problem is that the TWRP app doesn't support the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
I'm trying to figure out if there is another way to flash a custom rom onto my phone. But I need a custom recovery for that...

im saying that ud need root if the twrp app could flash roms within android. which implies ud have gone through the rooting process which has to flash twrp. plus i think the twrp app is just a downloader more than anything else.
anyways can you get to dl mode?
put phone off , hold bixby and vol down and while holding down the 2 buttons plug the cable from the computer
phone should go to dl mode

Yes, I can get into the download mode without any problems. But connecting the phone to a pc only charges the phone and I can not get any other option. I even tried to press the notification in the statusbar where it displays that the phone is charging (connected to the computer). But there are no other options than charging unfortunatelly..

To rule out the charging port, grab the OTG USB adapter that came with the phone and see if you can get a flashdrive to show up in the phone.if you can't, the it's for sure the charging port .

Thank you for the suggestion! I tried it. It does recognize that there is a device connected. But it only let's it charge the USB and doesn't show up in the file manager. It definitely must be the charging port. Unfortunately...

There are no dumb questions I have tried to put it into file transfer mode, but the option isn't available when pressing the notification in de statusbar. It only shows that the phone is charging and the phone goes to the battery settings when pressing the notification.
Also, I've checked in developer settings, and I set the USB configuration to standard: File transfer.

download mode( vol down +Bixby and insert usb from pc) overrides whatever "mode" the android software system is configured to.

Question Can I root my A33 without a cable?

Hi, I had asumed that I would need a cable to connect my phone to my computer but I search the Magisk rooting guide and cannot find any mention to any cable:
Installation
The Magic Mask for Android
topjohnwu.github.io
The cable that came with the phone is USB-C to USB-C cable, and my computer does not have USB-C jack, so I guess I need to purchase a USB-C to USB-A cable.
In any case, just to double check: is rooting possible without the need of a cable?

Well, the simple fact that you need to flash it with Odin implies you will need a cable. So yes, unfortunately you do need one.

Without a cable
Hmm
Yes, It is possible
(Assuming that you have already unlocked your bootloader if not first watch a guide for it)
By tapping 7 times on build number in about phone section and then enable usb debugging and then wireless debugging (only for Android 11 or higher android version) and then setup adb and fastboot tools in your pc connect adb with ip/tcp (or with another android device using bugjaegar or LADB) then flash a custom recovery on your device then insta magisk app from the official github repo just rename Magisk.app to Magisk.zip and flash it by your custom recovery
Now all done you can enjoy magisk root on your device
