I got 4 hours of sot( I literally used my phone until it died), in which I played cod on wifi at very high frame rate 2h54m. I have turned of aod, and I also used adb to reduce the resolution to 1080p. Honestly it looks the same but it seems to give me little more juice.
I also have a question about the charger situation. I used a 18 watt pd charger but it seems forever to charge(2h 40m(, so I used a 25 watt fast charger from samsung(which is from the note 20) usb-c to usb-c and that can charge the the battery from 0 to 83 in a hour. Is it alright to charge like that? I read in the forums that xz3 can charge at 40w power though! Anyways ty if u r gonna reply!

Thanks for feedback So it's not good for daily use just if you want secondary device for home-using & gaming.
for your question charging like that just like smashing the battery with hammer because every 4 hrs you will charge from 0 to 100. Wich is recommended to charge from 30% to 80% for healthy life cycle. But in your situation it's hard to fix.

I use Ampere to see the rate I am getting. First plug in might only be 90 mah. I unplug, replug, it jumps up to 350. A couple more times and I end up at 900-1200. Screen off and let it fast charge.
I recently tried out the HTC Bolt for a couple weeks and it seemed to charge much faster than my V20. Shouldn't it be the other way around since the Bolt uses quick charging 2.0 while the V20 uses Quick charging 3.0?
Slowest charging phone i ever owned but i still love it lol
My H910 charges relatively quickly. Just plugged it into a quickcharge 2.0, not 3.0 car charger and it went from 16% to 50% in ~25 minutes.
I regularly get rates of 1.8A or greater using a CHOETECH or Anker charger. One its above 80%, it drops down, but this is normal.
The Anker is QC3.0 and the CHOETECH are QC2.0

agree, LOL
even my old G2 get 50% battery in half an hour.
what's with V20?
it uses QC 3.0, but charge slower.
I use original V20 charger, and when charging the status is "quick charging.."
it takes 2 hours from 27% to 100%

maybe, but it looks like not just me though.
and btw, my LG G2 can do full charge in 1 hour and 20 mins (80 minutes), and it's not even QC 3.0
I read somewhere in gsmarena, QC 3.0 should charge to 80% in 30 mins

not sure about G2. I've never had one.
QC 3.0 might be able to do it technically, but I've never seen a phone that fast in charging yet. Not even the OP3T which every body is saying quickest in charging.

Hmm.. okay.
How about your G Flex2? how long it would take to charge to 100%?
G Flex2's battery 3000mAh, right? Same as G2

That grandpa tooks around 2+ hrs to get full charge
But to be fair with the phone, I've never used the original charger of G Flex 2 to charge. I either used my old chargers from previous phones or I plugged it into my laptop to charge it. Let me find the original charger and try it when i get back home
Great
Very fast charge

I have absolutely no complaints with the charging speed. Also, I rarely drop below 40%.
My battery takes forever to charge up!
I just bought a VS995 Verizon Unlocked off the net. Was classified as "almost new - open box", hope I did NOT get a unit with problems. Re-charged it now a total of 5 times and on average (plus or minus 3-5 minutes) it takes approx. 3 hours and 18 minutes. for a full charge 0% to 100% . A few thoughts and questions came to mind while reading all your excellent posts:
1.) I believe he must of lost his quick charger because the one he gave me seems like he bought it off the net. Standard USB charger. So probably not using the quick charge function feature of this phone correct?
2.) Can I goto an electronics store and just copy whatever voltage and amps I need to perform a quick charge? Can someone please POST what the voltages and amps needed for a quick charge 3.0 please.
3.) Anyone have a bad battery or have one go bad after using the wrong charging devices? I was thinking of ordering a new battery BUT they are a little pricey. Anyone know some good outlets to buy them at a fair price?
4.) Does rooting the device and putting one of the ROM's on their cell solve anyone's battery problem? If so which ROM do you recommend?
Overall that is my only gripe about the phone. I love the DAC and for all you music lovers out there try Sirius XM on the LG-V20 and make sure to use Hi-Fi made headphones. I bought myself Bowers and Wilkens P7's, sort of pricey but worth it to me. The other thing is Napster as well the songs you download sound awesome with this DAC. For both of these APPS make sure you go into settings and adjust the quality of the downloads and streaming. Otherwise you could be listening to it with poor quality settings from the get go.
Ok well I appreciate any help or advice on my battery situation!
Thanks in advance to anyone helping me out.

Any charger that says Quick Charge 3.0 would work. I think even QC 2.0 would charge at the same speed, but just less energy efficient.
The difference between qc 2 and 3 is 3 has a variable voltage allowing it to use energy more efficiently.
Excess energy is lost as heat on qc2, the power is reduced in qc3 when the battery starts to get full.
The charge time is the same.
Specs for QC 2 is 5V / 9V/ 12V, specs for QC 3 is
3.2v - 20v dynamic

I am horrifically disappointed in this device's charging speed.
I was very pleasantly surprised by how fast this phone charges, untill the past few days. Now all the sudden it seems very average. "Charging Rapidly" is not anywhere near as impressive now as it was. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to figure out if it's just the phone (I have seen other slow charging complaints but not this specifically), or if I caused it.
I installed that stock kernel with security pass patch, twrp beta1, Magisk 14.4.2, and Viper4Arise. Pretty confident that it's not any of those things, but everything else is pretty standard.
This is the case with the charger that came with the P2 in box, the older N5x charger, and the usb-c car charger. I know the new P2 one is stronger, but the change is noticable all around.
My 'Charging Rapidly' also does not seem to be all that rapid, using the charger that came in the box and can take quite a while to get to 100%.

It takes hours to get to 100%. I recently got hold of a USB-A to USB-C cable and plugged the phone into my Nexus 6 brick. The difference was astounding. Full charge in about 1.5 hours. It's sickening that I spent the money on this phone only to have it be so disappointing. I'm a diehard Google fanboi but this is ridiculous.
Definitely miss my 1+5 dash charge. Damn that thing was fast.
Some numbers, today I connected my phone at 19% with stock charger.
- 30 min charge: 19% to 56%
- 40 min charge: 19% to 67%
I don't think that's bad, it's definitely not FAST, nor regular. But considering all the issues the 6P had with batteries, I don't really want to charge my battery in less than one hour. (Specially now that the phone has at least 3 years of updates, I'd like to have 90% of battery life or more in 3 years)
I'll have to do another test, something like from 35% to 80% (this would be more real life, I only need a 2nd charge when I'm traveling in a city with a power bank, using Maps and Camera all the time).
Ultra fast charging and wireless charging are some of the features that I care less in the phone. I want some fast charging between 30% and 90%, but I don't require it to be extremely fast.
TL : DR: If you value an ultra fast charging over other things in a phone, definitely skip the Pixel 2.
p2's charging current is capped at 2700ma (could be up to around 3200ma by kernel hax), meanwhile high battery temperature (over 45 Celsius degrees) and others things such as screen state will cap the current more (half or more)
Without those restricts, fully charge time should be around a hour.

Fastest with dash
i heard that this also works with usb power delivery (maybe out of the box or with a custom kernal?) which is good news. an open standard fast charge framework is always a good thing.,
I got 35%---> 80% in 25min ish this morning. powered on, off screen
So fast like sanic
Insane Charging speed even without dash charge
Easy from 40-80% in 20 minutes every time. I rarely every have to let my phone dip past 70
If you plug it into a quick charge 3.0 charger, how much time does it take to charge it fully? thanks

Hi guys,
little comparison with ugreen qck 3.0 charger. It's good, but no chance with dash charge, ~2 times slower. I can't add screenshots, but charging from 17% to 81% last 1h 15 min.
Is it just me ?
Had put my phone on charge on 51%..
After 1hr 10mins screen off it was still on 97%..
Can someone explain is this normal
idle drain about 3 to 4% always.
thats so impressiv... 0-100% in 1 hour...
Ultra fast !!

Of course!
i prefer the 18 w fast charged since it wont degrade the battery as fast as 30 w fast charger. of course a 6000 mah is more difficult to degrade, but the life span will be better with 18w charger
the tencent edition 8/128 is a best buy.. not worth the global 12/512gb . only it has little more bands, all glass body, some new accessory and fast charged. reccomended only for people that use more than 128gb.
128gb is more than enough for me and an almost 1000$ 512gb global model is not giustified!

Proper fast charging shouldn't degrade a battery any faster than normal charging, as long as it doesn't cause the battery to heat up more than normal or charge to a higher finished voltage than normal. What degrades a battery is charging it to 100% all the time, because that last 5 to 10 percent of the charge is up in the 4.15 to 4.2+ volts per cell, which causes the damage that we see as degradation. If you limited the charge to 80%, or even 90% you'd get a MUCH slower degradation of the battery.

And what's nice about the phone is that it gives you a way to mitigate this right from settings. Go to Settings, Battery, PowerMaster, Battery Care. Here you can set times for dynamic charging between hours X and Y to get to 100% instead of as fast as you can. Mine is set 10 pm to 7 am for now.

It takes 4 hours with the phone off or on. If it's on make sure that scheduled charging isn't activated during the period you try to charge the phone.
If non of what I suggested is useful, it's better you take your device to ASUS service center.

There is a problem with your device battery mate either this or your charger is the issue. From 50% to 100% it shouldn't take more than 1 hour and that's with the default charger that comes with the device itself 18W. Try to charge the device with another charger and compare. Otherwise I advice you to taking it to the service center.

Thank you for your advice, I will try charging using my Sony Xperia 1 charger & see if it makes any difference.
Otherwise the battery holds charge very well. I will update you shortly as I've only had the device for 3 days...
I will also order this and see if it helps:
JuicEBitz® 25W 3 Port USB FAST QC3.0 Mains Charger Adapter +
It should provide me with the fastest supported charge. I'll order it next week & once tested I will report back.

I already have an update and know what the problem is.
Around 30 minutes back, I had 60% battery. Just now I unplugged it and it was 96%
I used original Sony Xperia 1 18w charger and cable. This means that there is an issue with the supplied Asus charger, it is charging very slowly. The 18W Sony charger is charging much faster than the 30W Asus...
Anyway to charge only to 80% in software? With a 6000 mAh battery, I don't really need to charge to full if I can increase longevity of the battery life.

Question Best charger/wattage for best battery life span

Hello people I recently acquired my 11t pro and I know that the 120w charging, first it's amazing, but second it's kind of concerning to think that such a charging speed might not wear down the battery life even though Xiaomi claims 800 cycles and a bunch of certifications.
So I've decided to only use 120w on hasty situations or while traveling, etc. And I happen to have different xiaomi chargers.
The question is which do you think is the best wattage or charger to make battery life span longer 22.5w or 33w?
(wish I had the 67w from the 11t, but unfortunately I don't)
You're correct. Fast charging is poison for battery lifespan, of course the device makers love that because $. As low and slow as possible is the way to go, 18-25 W as a good trade off I would say. Some, including myself go even lower.
yeah,I haven't tested the 11t pro but with a redmi note 9 using a samsung note 9 charger it looked like the redmi wasn't getting any charge up. So that low is good?
i use 12/15w and its perfect !
Im charging mine with standard 5v 2A (its slow, but i thing battery will have better life down the line) since im planning to use my phone for 4-5 years minimum (last phone oneplus 2 was in use 6 years)

Yes, you are right, when you are not in hurry i dont see reason not to use slower speed charging and then if you need speed use fast charger once in awhile
Well just as an addition I've tested several chargers with different wattages and these are the results in terms of time:
Samsung 10w - 2h:40min ±
Xiaomi 18w - 1h 30min ±
Xiaomi 22.5w - 1h 05min ±
Xiaomi 33w - 50 min ±
Xiaomi 120w 17 min at least for me.
Charging from around 10 to 100%
I am using Samsung 15W charger, around 2h to fully charge the phone.
I use a 33W charger from my K30 Pro Zoom. I charge from 20% remaining to 90% in 30 mins. Probably 45 mins if totally drained but never have to wait for an hour to fully charge. I only use 120W during business trips or Out of town.
By the way, your cord needs to match the type of Charger you are using or you'll just end up with a bottle neck charging.
I think the best option would be 65W, either mi charger or anker. Im currently using anker 65w charger, and oh my god, im getting a beautiful battery life of upto 8 hours sot on heavy usage. And by heavy usage i mean, streaming, maps.
With heavy games as well, its a bit lower. But charging with 120W affects the battery negatively. And i think it doesnt charge it completely even though it shows 100%.
