Question Xiaomi SIM Activatio Service Help: Can't Activate SMS Sync & Call History Sync - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi all,
I apologise in advance for the length, but was wondering if anyone had encountered this issue, and what they did to resolve it, if so.
The above errors come from the Xiaomi SIM Activation Service.
I'm running MIUI 12.5 Enhanced (CN ROM), 12.5.12.
A few days ago (from September 10th on), I started noticing errors with message and call history sync. Message sync would say "failed to get SIM info", while call history sync would simply say it was interrupted, and to try again. Of course, trying again for both never did anything.
Prior to this, I never had any issues with syncing call history or messages to the cloud.
Troubleshooting
• I've tried wiping the phone, rebooting, and trying with different SIMs, including logging out and back into my Mi Account.
• My providers have confirmed no issues sending the SMS's from their end, I have enough credit, and no "send/receive international SMS block" in place.
• Some solutions on the Internet say to enable data roaming and reboot, which didn't work. They also speak of allowing all permissions for the SIM Activation Service - (unless I am missing something), there are no permissions to allow, they simply don't appear when I look at the Service in "Apps", under Settings.
Outcome
Effectively, this means I can't sync my messages and call history to the cloud - this is also replicated across multiple MIUI smartphones that I use as testbeds, and a bug report has been submitted to Xiaomi.
All other sync services work fine.
The only thing I can do now, is periodically backup messages and call history to external storage.
Anyone have any ideas I can try, please?

Yesterday, after a read xiaomie installation, I had the same problem, I could not activate the SIM card and synchronize sms.
Today I set the language of the English UK and US region. I turned on mobile data and turned off wifi.
Such a liking was able to activate the SIM.
Unfortunately I get sms sync error, maybe it's a bug on the xiaomi server side. But the activation was successful.

Very simple answer. Sorry to say- I have taken service providers to the ombudsman. It's the service provider. They prevent the Sim identification and also international SMS from going through. Xiaomi, in their complicity, have taken away the feature showing the international SMS (it is now just one bar, not two). Phone says under device "Sim card not installed or activated"...yet it is. So, they prevent that at Optus, AMAYSIM, Vodafone.. whomever. They ALL do it. Why? They don't have anything better to do and enjoy the power, control and frustrating the ship out of customers. If you search the internet, if you have service, yet can't sync call history and SMS, it is the SERVICE PROVIDER GAMING YOU! WELCOME TO PLANET EARTH.

Also, it prevents call recording. Great game master controllers.

Phone settings problem

I guys;
Rogers Network Canada
Recently my cell phone started to act weird. First dialling is taking about 30 to 45 seconds before connecting with the other line now all my calls are been redirected to my voice mail. No ring no vibe straight to the mailbox!
I was trying to see if it’s something I did by accident in the phone by going to phone settings , services
Call barring (can’t get access to it)
message- cannot read settings from network. Try viewing settings letter or disconnect data connection and try again.
before I was able to access it not sure if it may be a hardware problem now
Caller ID (can’t get access) same message
Call forwarding (can’t get access) same message
I can only access Call waiting and Voice mail and Tex Messages.
I soft reset the phone no luck then hard reset no luck either flashed new room and nothing!! I don’t know what else to do. Call Customer support and he asked me to try my sim card in another phone and it worked just fine. I switched my wife’s sim card in my phone and same problem her calls go straight to the mail box!
Any help will be very appreciate
any tool or software to fix the problem?

[Q] How can I disable "after call summary" ?

These days I’m on vacation using a pre-paid connection. I actaved a data connection on it and started getting these usage summary notifications every few seconds (e.g: Data charge is xx.xx, your available balance is yy.yy, valid until dd/mm/yy). Its really annoying because if I keep the phone locked for like an hour I am presented with 50 odd such messages that I have to press OK before being able to use the phone . When I called the technical support, I was told that it is a phone feature usually called “After call summary” or “call summary”, that can be turned off from the phone itself. Since they don’t carry any android devices he couldn’t help me where to find it. I looked around myself, but couldn’t find anything . Can someone help me with this ? Thanks.
Guess no one knows about this feature or how to disable it?
some one help me with this too..
Hi. I don't think it's a device feature. And if it's a "call summary" then it shouldn't inform about data plan. Try searching for a disabling code on your operator's website.
I have a "call summary" enabled - it pops up after a call, and I can disable/enable it only with a USSD code defined by operator.
Remove Call Summary Screen on Verizon Galaxy 8
I was getting an annoying call summary screen on my Galaxy 8s. It appeared to have the green android messaging icon in the call summary and splash screen. I use the Verizon massaging app. I therefore disabled the android messaging app and the issue disappeared. If you have another android, see if you can replace the android messaging app prior to disabling it.

Verizon note 8 on AT&T Calling error!

Hey everyone,
I have a bit of a weird issue here. I have a note 8 from Verizon which everyone knows comes unlocked. I am using it on AT&T and everything works well except for one thing. For some reason when I receive phone calls from people, it shows on the screen with a + sign in front of the phone number. So if someone calls me that is in my contact book, it will not show their name since there is no + sign in my contact book. So also now in my call history if I try to call that number back it sounds like it is trying to make an international call. I have no idea what is happening. Data, texts and calls work but instead of getting a call from 9999999999 I get +9999999999.
Please help me out here, I love the phone!!
Zachary
I've read about this issue before. Googling 'incoming calls show +' gives you some leads.
In short it seems to be related to Dialling Assistance settings (note spell error, is as in settings...). I couldn't find those via the regular settings (used to be accessible via settings in Phone app), but I could via the app 'Shortcut Master (Light)' ...
Search for 'dialing' and then launch:
'com.android.phone.operator.usa.AssistedDialingActivity'. My settings (N950U1) are as per SS...
Try playing with these settings.

Don't receive SMS messages

Hi,
I just got a Mi 9 today and everything works fine (i can receive phone calls normally..) but i noticed that there was a problem with sms messages : i only receive some messages (not all of them) and the ones that arrive are delayed.
And i don't receive apps confirmation messages at all (Xiaomi account, WhatsApp, WeChat...)
I checked the SMSC and it was correct.
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
Thanks
Amine
There are a couple settings you might want to change. If you enable Developer Options there is a Toggle called mobile data always active. Some phones (like those from Google) have this enabled by default. If it's not already enabled I click that setting on. I have never noticed additional data usage on any phone as a result of that being enabled--it just allows for faster network switching.
In WiFi settings you probably have an option to stay connected to WiFi while your phone is asleep. I always enable that as well.
You are probably getting delayed SMS and notifications because the data connection is off when your phone is sleeping--and if your phone is connected to WiFi but your carrier doesn't support WiFi texts then you won't receive texts until your data connection is reestablished.
I would like to bump this subject.
I just purchased a Mi 9 and I have the very same problem as the OP.
Following jhs39 indications didn't help.
Appreciate all the help

SMS does not arrive through DATA connection, as far as I know. It uses plain old GPRS signal. Data is for internet.
Same for me. don't receive apps confirmation messages at all (Xiaomi account, WhatsApp, Facebook. etc

What about APN's?!
Did You check this?!
There must be two APN's, one for data connection (internet) and other of MMS messages only.

I´m having the exact same issue with the Xiaomi Mi 9 T Pro, I can receive SMS from another numbers, but I'm not able to receive sms from big companies (Xiaomi account, Whastapp, Steam) I know is the phone because I put my SIM card on my old phone, and all the company SMS where going through just fine!
Does someone knows the solution from this? I really wanted to use Xiaomi but is getting really difficult and really frustrating at the same time :/
I have a similar problem.
I don't use a Xiaomi's account, so I haven't noticed that problem.
My problem is with Google verification sms.
I don't receive them, or they come much later than they used to on my old phone.
Regards
Gudni
someone managed to solve? My cell phone was working normally and a week ago stopped receiving sms from applications and companies. Please if anyone knows help
I have the same problem since last Thursday... but in my case, it only happens when the SMS is sent from a foreign Phone number; if somebody from my country sends me a SMS it works fine (and, of course, I am able to send SMSs to my country and foreign countries without any problem).
I had the same problem... but i was connected to my VPN.. once i disconnected from the VPN.. everything worked fine
as for me i get sms but NOT MMS. i have defiantly tried a ton of apns and no MMS
Xiaomi is becoming a headache
I have realized that Xiaomi seems to be a good smartphone (mine is a Redmi Note 8 Pro), but at the end it is a very problematic one. Mine never connects to 4G LTE and my SIM card is a valid one which works fine with other phones (Samsung S8, Samsung J7 Neo, Moto G5 plus and Huawei Y7). I have done everything possible that I have read in the internet and I don't get to fix it. I'm about to give up ...

Question Auto update breaks my ability to make calls/text when I enable WiFi for the first time after factory reset. Anyway to disable this?

I've had an ongoing battle with my ability to make calls/text with this device, I initially thought it was at the carriers end but I was perplexed because my SIM works fine in other devices and they are unable to find anything wrong.
Last night I opted to try a full factory reset, I had already done multiple prior in an effort to find a resolution but this time I opted to do it without immediately connecting my phone to WiFi during the setup portion. What I found was two things, all the texts that had failed to come in did and my talk and text was now completely usable. Also the ZTE Locker, which is ZTEs embedded lockscreen wallpaper app was now functioning again. Prior to this it had stopped working and was stuck on one static image (it is suppose to change the lockscreen wallpaper every time you turn on the screen on your device and the images update everyday over Wifi). Unfortunately as soon as I connect my phone to WiFi without any notification I believe the phone does some form of update as within seconds my phones ability to make calls/text breaks along with the ZTE locker. I have attempted to disable any auto updates under the system updates in settings before connecting to Wifi, but unfortunately that does not work as it does not appear to be a full on OS change. Is there any way to disable any updates that are not manually approved when I connect to Wifi? I have reached out to ZTE support and they have escalated the issue to their senior R&D team. However I don't want to wait until a new update before I can have a functioning phone.
Just as a note, the issue appears to be particular to 3G calls (although I am not sure why I am failing to receive some texts). In Canada our carriers do not enable VoLTE with phones that are pretty much not Samsung/Apple or have been bought directly from them. Because of this any out of market phones like One Plus and ZTE that are unlocked and compatible only get calling through 3G, which is normally fine. I can get VoLTE briefly if I put my SIM in a carrier approved phone and switch it to my ZTE and it appears to work (until my carrier recognizes the IMEI and blocks it). So this may be why not everyone is experiencing this issue (if they have VoLTE). Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end.
I'm in the USA and have had zero issues on T-Mobile, but when I got the phone I had to manually put in the T-Mobile APN settings to make sure everything liked texts and data worked correctly. I have many T-Mobile devices so I know exactly how to set the APN. Are you sure that your APN is set correctly for the network you are on? I know that most phones set the APN according to the sim card you insert, but I have found many Chinese phones that DON'T. Once I set it manually that usually solves all the problems.
Also, how did you reach out to ZTE support? I'm trying to get ahold of them to give them feedback to DISABLE the obnoxiously loud camera shutter sound in the next software update, but aside from spamming their Facebook page, I don't know how to get ahold of them.
Thanks for the reply, oddly there is no option on my Axon Ultra to add APN settings. Only the default ones are available, although they do look to be correct for the most part I would love trying to add them manually. Someone in another forum who was also having issues (with another Canadian carrier) spoke with a rep and they stated that they would be releasing an update shortly with the manual APN option. My data and MMS appear to be working fine however so I am not too optimistic that will be the fix. You can contact ZTE on their website, if you go to their contact page you will see a little pop on the bottom right hand corner for chat. In reality it is mostly a messaging service as it never appears to be actually online but they do appear to be respond somewhat promptly to message sent via email. Just as a heads up, I don't recall specifically where I think it was a review but I do believe they have made a statement already saying they will patch out the loud shutter sound.
May I ask if your phone works fine with VoLTE disabled? Unfortunately since all non carrier approved devices are denied VoLTE in Canada my main experience has been with 3G calls failing.
I'm in Finland. Having so much problems with call's that i can't use the phone. Problems answering call's and phone also keeps cutting call's. I sent mail to Zte support. Probably have to wait for update and hope for the best.
Hey, they released an update today. It now allows you to input your own APN settings manually. Look up your carriers and add your own. Even though the automated ones were right making my own manual ones has fixed the issue for me it seems.
