Hello, I'm saucey and would first like to thank everyone involved with the XDA community. This includes but is not limited to the management teams who make the tough decisions, the Devs who work to improve the site's user friendly format, to those who provide responses to the many questions and lend guidance to individuals, who at times, may be worn down and stressed out over the subject matter for which they seek your time and knowledge. Lastly, I would like to thank the inquiring minds who have turned to the XDA community because they believed that this forum was and is their best option for the remedy that they seek. I believe it's fair to say, without those who raise the question we would be hard pressed to find cause to provide an answer. Thanks again to all of you for your time and consideration, please be well and stay safe.

Nice intro, welcome aboard!

I notice a lot of new members joining this fantastic website, great the more members the better the knowledge pool.
Sadly I note that a lot of these new members are all asking the same questions, such as:
Which ROM is best
How do I install cab files
Whats the best software
Tweaks that work for
I like many other members spend a considerable amount of time just gleaning the info we need for our particular device and am grateful for the time spent by the developers who do the hard work.
Thanks to you all
However, the noobs want it all served on a plate!!
I have a suggestion, when a newly registered member of the group joins they are limited only to post in stickies for a the first 20 or so posts. Then, hopefully they would have gleaned the info wanted from those areas before being let loose in the wild.
Just a suggestion
Alchopop
NICE!!!!
but in a utopy web forum... welcome all we alll say read read read before ask... and search, use the search tab... so if nothing of this happends they always ask... so we are here to redirect them to the right way.
search button
whats that?
What motivates developers on XDA to develop? I've always wondered this when following ROM's and asking for help.
I've seen a vast array of developers here on XDA, granted I only really stick to the sections for my phone at the time, but all developers I've encountered in each section are all, dedicated, master's of their trade.
Devs? What motivates you to build a ROM for a/your phone. Is it your career and you use XDA as a platform to hone your skills? Is it that you want ROM development to be your career and hope that you are head hunted for your awesome ROM? How do you deal with all n00b comments? *cough* Hacre *cough*.
Another question within a question. Have you as a dev or contributor ever been offered or hopefully, accepted a job offered to you as a result of your time here at XDA? (I don't think this question is against the rules, let me know and I'll edit.)
Anyways, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks devs, keep it up.
I have been using XDA developers for a while now and it has got me out of a few sticky situations. The community has been for the most part very great and the mods do their up most to make sure it stays tidy and user friendly.
The developers do all of their work part time and what I mean really is in their spare time. I'm sure I speak for most when I say to to each and every developer thank you.
Yes there is a thank you button available in each ROM, theme thread but I find words are better.
Your time spent and effort put in and also help provided by the community and developers is appreciated.
P.s if moderators find this thread to be unproductive and wish to remove I fully understand. However I just wanted to express my views of XDA and how much I for one value it.
I'm using xda for almost a decade and couldn't agree more. That's why we also support our devs by either buying their apps or by donating to them to show our appreciation.
And don't forget. Devs are not the only one to donate to, XDA also can receive it and help reduce its server maintenance costs.
Like every forum of XDA, this forum is also have great importance, not straight forward it helps in developing a device, rom, kernel but refresh our mind and serves as a seed to be prepare for do better by ask freely, tell freely anything.... It almost give joy, knowledge everything but if we want to say thanks to anybody for his/her post, there is no ' thanks' button..,.so give yes or no in favour or denial
Mine is ' yes' and yours........? Give views
Thanks totals are fairly meaningless here overall. This isn't a social media site. But, they generally are a sign that someone with a higher thanks total is a helpful member, a great contributor of development, etc. To boost that total with thanks earned for the topics of this section would greatly misrepresent a person's contributions to development, or support, the things this site is about.
So no, it's not going to happen. :good:
I'll close this thread now.
Hello everyone. Although I am a new member, I have been using XDA as my main source of knowledge for many years. XDA forums is the first and the best of the internet sites for troubleshooting our cell phones. Thanks to you, I have been able to extend their useful life and add improvements to them. I am not an expert, much less I think I have the knowledge and experience of good developers who are part of this great family of contributors. There is not much that I can report about myself, and I think it is not worth it, but I hope to continue learning from my colleagues in this forum and be useful to them when I can be. Thank you and success.
