Does somebody know why samsung has stopped its exynos990 variants for s20 fe? I have s20 fe exynos and was wondering is it because of the hardware issues? If there are any issues like battery draining fast, is there a chance they repair it through OTA update?

I think the Exynos FE always scored lower on battery drain tests. From what I have seen, it looks like the Exynos was just more power hungry than the Snapdragon version, but I don't think this would be fixable with an OTA update. It seems to be more down to the processor.

I'm seriously unsure if it's better to go for the snapdragon, but If buy that version will I get as update as quick as the Exynos version?
No, Exynos will get updates earlier. Also Exynos version can record a calls

What are the advantages of the Exynos variant? Only one I'm aware of, you'll have a larger selection of Custom ROM'S. Snapdragon SoC is now faster, better optimized for gaming, AI, 5G and is offered with an unlocked bootloader. Do you plan on rooting or flashing your device? If not Snapdragon is your best bet.
Yeah, it seems to boil down to whether you want/need an unlocked bootloader. While there have been some unlocked Snapdragon S models in the past, they are in limited markets and have had very little development compared to the Exynos models. For my usage, the Exynos is the only option, and some of the performance difference will be clawed back by custom kernels/ROMs. And since I'm coming from a rooted Exynos S7, the S10e will be a solid performance jump. But if rooting didn't matter to me, I'd go with the Snapdragon.
Good dayall. I'm thinking of buying a s10e but I'm not sure if I should get the variant with snapdragon or with exynos. Any suggestions?
I would like to see the panorama of development for both processors. I have seen SD devices seems to be harder to root than Exynos devices.
I have seen also, that SD unlocked (non US variant) can be rooted. Can confirm it please?
It would be nice if you can say me which are the device model that have SD processor (Until now, I only know G9700) and its differences.
Thanks you!
Models with exynos can be rooted. Snapdragon models can't be rooted with the exception of the Sprint 5G version. I have heard exynos models suffer from severe battery drain, not sure what variants though. I have a snapdragon S10+ myself.
Hello guys
I am planning to buy s10 next week. It's exynos version. And has android 9 and 1ui old version . I think I will get android 10 and 1ui 2 on OTA. I just bought a Snapdragon Verizon (US varient) S10, I flashed the international version S10 software to it and now i have android 10 and one ui2
Terrible battery life on the Exynos.
I don't get ota as I'm TKD, and I still had the patch for fingerprint. the rest you can always update once it is available to download

If you're talking about the S20, not really.

I am not.... The S20 is way overpriced for what it is... I have the S10+ and it's been one of the worst devices in years I've had... I wouldn't trust Samsung to give a decent device again in particular paying what they want for the S20
Hello guys... i saw few custom kernels from normal s20 and Note 20 Ultra 5G... i quite like my exynos S20 FE but i think it have much more potential in it.. can you answer me if someone is building it? Thanks
Your better of asking in the S20 forums I would think as there is not a lot of dev work happening on the S20FE atm its too new (3 months in the Uk).
I'm wondering if anyone knows if its possible to flash the firmware for a regular S20 5G (SM-G981) to an S20 FE 5G. My phone is from Verizon (SM-G781V) if that matters. They both have the same processor I believe (Snapdragon 865). Only difference is amount of RAM I think. I would think the regular S20 would have more features than the FE version and would like to enjoy them. Thanks in advance.
This would not work, there are many hardware diffences between the two phones even if the basic specsheets look the same. Best case scenario flashing another models ROM would it not installing, worst case a total brick.
Right now there are no 3rd party ROMs (as far as I know) for the S20FE, your two options would be waiting for custom ROMs to come out for the FE or consider selling it and using the money to get a refurb S20.
