Questions about re-locking bootloader

Hi all, I just ordered my Mi Mix and had a couple of questions regarding locking and relocking the bootloader:
I usually like to root my phones just because it gives me some finer levels of control (such as f.lux, titanium backup, adaway, etc), so I have been considering unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP as per instructions in the forums here. I have read however that it is possible to relock the bootloader and in essence restore the phone to a "unmodified" state. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove root, flash the original recovery and then relock the bootloader in case I ever wanted to go back to stock MIUI?
Sorry if this is a duplicate - I did a quick search and did not notice the question asked. Appreciate any tips and advice!

SM-N950W custom rom and boot loader unlock?

I have a Canadain version Note 8 (SM-N950W). I can't see a custom ROM in the other forum or a boot loader unlock / custom loader. Does one exist, am I blind?

No you are not blind!
Because the n950W/U/U1 has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER! So, no TWRP, custom kernels, and root from Oreo to PIE!
The only method on xda for you is the Safestrap method which gives you the ability to flash a rooted ONLY NOUGAT Samsung system with a latest bootloader versions. (No AOSP roms, NO Oreo root and NO PIE root).
Now if you are patient enough maybe root will come to PIE.
But the safestrap method isn't easy to install and it takes a bit more risk.
Make sure you read and understand what you read. Also you'll have to convert your n950W to n950U1 and there is a thread for that.

This does NOT UNLOCK your bootloader!

Help with stuff related to installing Custom ROMS

Hi, I'm pretty new to installing ROMS. Infact I don't even know what unlocking bootloader means and how to do all this stuff but I would like to learn how.
I heard that rooting/installing roms is specific to each device and brand and since I use a Redmi 9 ,here I am.
I would like to get help on the following topics:
-How do I unlock my bootloader? Does it void warranty? Can I lock my bootloader again at the time of selling?
-How do I install a Custom ROM and Custom recovery? This might be a noob question but I seriously dont want to brick my device or anything.
-Do I need to root my phone to install a Custom ROM?
Any links to these topics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the help.
You'll probably be better off if you go to Google and YouTube and do some research on your own. About the bootloader its possible to relock it but the status may change to relocked.
