Hello guys, I've decided to downgrade my s10 from Android 11 to Android 10, I've tried downloading a version of one UI 2.5 from Sam mobile but gave an error saying the binary code wasn't the same. So I wanted to ask if someone can link the correct version to downgrade to. I'll attach a screenshot of my software info.
Binary code difference means that your BL (bootloader) is newer than the one in your flash file. Samsung doesn't allow you to downgrade the BL version, hence the error.
In most cases, OneUI updates come with new BLs, so you may be stuck at your OneUI version. Generally, the BL version is the 5th character from the right... "C" in your case. At least that's how it works for Snapdragon devices... yours seems to be Exynos so it may be different... but I'm guessing it's not.
What are you trying to flash? Check the 5th character from the right, it's probably "B" or older, I'm guessing?

Thanks for the reply, yeah now that you mention it the one that I'm trying to flash has 9 as the 5th character, so i assume i'm stuck with c(12 in hexadecimal i assume). And yes it's an exynos.
So there's no way to downgrade? That would very sad, since now i have a phone that fully charged lasts only 8 hours(with power saving mode).
I don't know Exynos well enough, but this is my understanding. However, being Exynos, you may have the ability that Snapdragon doesn't - Exynos can be rooted, and if you can do that, you may be able to go back. On Snapdragon, this is not possible (for the most part). So, check out the Exynos threads and see what they mention for flashing other ROMs, and if the BL issue applies there, too... again, it may not.
So root my phone and install TWRP and flash the rom from there? My only issue is that some banking apps will stop working with a rooted device, it's happened in the past, but I'll do some research and see if I find anything
Same, I want to downdrade from android 11 to android 10 but no success, if found any solution please post here.

I have a tab s2 sm-t710 on nougat T710XXU2DQCL that was installed OTA and would like to know if i am able to downgrade to 6.0.1. The device is 100% stock and was wondering if ODIN would give me any grief about downgrading. The PDA number of the 6.0.1 file is T710XXU2CPK1 (Cellular South).
Thanks
On paper, I think you should be fine.
I'd also like to know this as battery life seemed much better on 6.0.1 for me.
i did downgrade my T 815 from 7.0m to 6.01 using odin. didnt face any difficulties. i did a complete wipe/format after i downgraded .
Can you not downgrade with TWRP as well?
Anyone knows how can I downgrade this tablet? It's in stock

I used Odin and firmware downloaded from sammobile and it worked flawlessly. I've performed downgrades on over 100 tablets so far and they have all worked good.
Downgrded my t713 long time ago and didn't have a single problem, you just need to download a compaitable firmware from sammobile!

You're safe to downgrade as long as it's allowed. Older builds will fail immediately so there is no harm to downgrade.
I've seen a few people asking about downgrading. Whats the reason behind this? Is N glitchy?

N does not work at all well with DJI drone remote controllers. I foolishly updated my brand new SM-T719Y 8" and Now I cannot connect to my drone at all. I have an pre 2016 Tab S2 on Android 6.01 and bingo works.
This size pad is the preferred size for drones and has enough grunt to provide stutter free vision. Cannot comment on anything else about N as this pad will only be used for my drone...

Hi Beut,
I have been trying yo downgrade my Tab S2 SM-T719Y LTE from Nougat to 6.01 and have correct downgrade and Odin. Every time I try to downgrade it fails straight away, so I was wondering what you ment by "as long as it is allowed" & "older builds" will fail immediately.
I need to get this happening as I cant fly my drone.
Cheers Yts...
I don't have your model so it cannot verify. However, other models I can downgrade to older builds close to the Nougat.
Like SM-T580 or SM-P580, both are Android 7, QF1 and QE4 respectively. I can downgrade them to PL4 or PL2, Android 6 but not the PG1.
Q: 17 or 2017
P: 16 or 2016.
The second letter is the month it's released.
You also need the right bootloader, different OS has different bootloader. Many just flash the AP file only without bootloader, it'll failed when downgrade.
Is it possible that you cannot downgrade Nougat to 6.01 as every time I try on my SM-T719Y Tab S2 LTE, it fails straight away. I have tried 3 different downloads and all failed, but Odin will let me overwrite my Nougat with a downloaded version of Nougat from the same web location as I got one of the 6.01 firmwares from.
Here are my fail messages.

Is it me or is it this model of the Tab S2 SM-T719Y????
When downgrade to MM you need the BL ( Bootloader ) goes with the AP . Boot loader of Nougat is not the same as MM , however bootloader of LTE version is locked
Sammy doesn't want you to downgrade.. nougat is planned obsolescence, I'd say.

Hey I've been trying to downgrade my T719Y for days now. Constantly failing and googling everything I can to find where I'm going wrong.
How would I know if I have the LTE version? And if I do and the bootloader is locked, does that mean I can't downgrade?
If I don't have the LTE version, you're saying I need the bootloader and AP to downgrade? Where can I find the bootloader?
I'll keep searching and trying but this is wearing me down. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My surveyors can't do a damn thing with our giant UAV until I fix this
LTE version is the one that has SIM, usually it's next to SD slot. Most LTE versions have locked bootloader, that's why you cannot downgrade firmware.
I just kept an older phone for apps available only for 6.0. Like scr recorder. Otherwise there are no reasons to downgrade
Hi, have SM-G975F/DS and using for 1 years Got it from outiside of Turkey. As i live in Turkey, our "HONORABLE" Tech institution will give 120 days to use unregistered IMEI's . So my time has ended, and has to change my IMEI number. But only way to do this is downgrading my phone to april-before firmwares.
Downloaded and tried to flash old firmwares but, device rejected them and gave error :sw rev check fail bootloader device 8 binary 4
So its so important to downgrade my phone u4 or previous firmwares.
Succesfully rooted with Magisk now and My question is : Any chance to downgrade my phone back to Android 9 or u4-u3 binaries?
how did you solve th

so then only root, twrp and a custom rom left with some special kernel what is saving the battery, lets me use the gps and bank apps.
Hello,
If this is in the wrong area, please forgive me. I tried my best to make sure it is in the right area, and I'm not super familiar with this site (though I've read here from time to time!)
A long time ago, my S8 Active upgraded to Pie, and I downgraded because I didn't like it at all. Well, I hard-reset my phone last week and I forgot to disable the update feature, and I have Pie again. So I want to downgrade again. However, using the firmware from sammobile.com and the latest Oreo firmware, Odin3 gives me a generic "failed" error. I suspect it's a bootloader version issue, but I really don't know enough about this to know for sure. My current firmware is G892USQU7CTG2 (T-Mobile). Is that bootloader version 7? If so, I think I'm screwed because, as I understand, you can't downgrade to a firmware with an older bootloader version... is that correct? The newest version of Oreo is G892USQS5BSG4, which I think is bootloader 5. If my understanding is correct, then... is there any way to downgrade the bootloader on my phone? I really really don't want Pie.
Thanks for your time and (hopefully) good news!
Hi all, I'm new to modding in general so there's many things I don't quite understand, hoping somebody can help.
I bought an S10 from a site which was supposed to just send me a refurbed (italian) S10, instead they sent me the US version, (G973U) and I believe it is carrier locked since it's stuck with Android 9 and doesn't find any update.
I have tried searching to no avail what I should flash to simply unbrand it, and allow it to receive OTA updates without tripping Knox.
The build version is the following: PPR1.180610.011.G973USQU2ASGC and the CRC is XAA/XAA/ATT
Thanks in advance.
You shall call them.
Who and what for? I'm past the point of dealing with those sellers, I just want to flash the phone.
CSC (not CRC).
XAA is a multi-region USA ROM, so I don't think it will change over properly for you in Italy. There are threads here for how you reflash a different ROM. The one I used for my S10+ was this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...e-links-and-flashing-discussion-here.3905897/ but I am sure there is one like that for your S10 non-plus... find it, follow the instructions, and you should be all set.
Thanks! I'm a newbie, what does it mean it wouldn't change properly? No OTAs? Tripping KNOX?
I have found this which seems to be the equivalent of the link you posted.
So, I should flash the U1 version right? However I see only a file "SAU - 1 - ....", and my build number doesn't end in that, furthermore I don't know which bootloader version I'm at.

Oh ok. I couldn't understand first.
For that, You'll flash in EDL mode. But the problem is if your device is powered by a snapdragon chip, it'll not working seamlessly.

No problem. I'm aware of the mode I have to enter to flash, as above I'm trying to figure out which stock rom I should flash to avoid tripping knox, and to receive OTAs. What won't work seamlessly?
Well, mods can close the thread, found the way to do it. Leaving it in case somebody ever needs it.
First, found & checked the bootloader version (5th number from the right in the build version) since you can only flash older bootloader versions apparently.
Then downloaded through Frija the rom for the unlocked phone variant (SM-G973U1) and the unbranded CSC (XAA)
Then using odin 3.13.3b flashed the rom

Hello, I'm in more or less same situation. When you flashed, which files did you use? All of them or just the AP_*** file?
Never mind. Flashed it anyway, now I don't see the AT&T startup screen anymore which is promising. Firmware version is now Android 11 (SM-G973U1 and not SM-G973U) on XAA CSC. Will see if I get any firmware updates later.
I've searched the forums, and I apologize if I've missed someone clearly explaining some of this nuance. I'd like to get rid of the Samsung crap and run 3rd party ROMs on my phone. I've done this in the past, but I'm rusty since my last 2 phones were never able to get bootloader unlocked.
I know that I need to get my bootloader unlocked, and I'm planning on using https://www.sampwnd.com/. Reading their FAQ, it tells me: S20 FE 5G on Rev2 or Rev3 - Not Unlockable. I also realize that Samsung blocks my from using Odin to downgrade Android 11 to 10. I don't care about the Android version as much as the Rev#, so:
Question 1: Is the Rev # the same as the BIT (BINARY/U/SW REV.), because I can find an Android 11 file with that Rev as 1 here: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G781U/TMB/G781USQU1CTLC?
Question 2: If that's true, can I use Odin to downgrade to Rev1 so I can get my phone's bootloader unlocked?
Thanks!
I shouldn't think it'll flash for you, chances are that at the end Odin will say failed.
that said it's not gonna hurt to try if you don't have a data cap. download your current firmware too as a precaution.
