I did a huge mistake. I wiped the System and the cash and data on the phone and reboot it, then the phone stuck in google Logo. The problem is I can’t go to Recovery mode because Both up and Down Volume Botton are broken. Is there any way to activate the adb, in this case, to turn the Recovery mode, then flash a new Rom? I tried the adb reboot command, but the phone was not recognized.
or is there a way to Force the phone into recovery mode?
please i need Help

You should just replace the volume buttons.

I’m afraid to say that, but it can’t be repaired
@olofoego,
The only way for you is to bridge volume down button pins on your motherboard. Search the web to find out the required pins. When you find the required pins then u should bridge them, connect usb cable to your pc and phone and wait until your phone will boot into fastboot mode. But be very careful because u can break the motherboard.
PS: I'm not responsible for any damage u can do to your phone!

I tried to put the CM10 on my phone, after installing the zip in recovery mode, I rebooted the device and it never returned to start. Does not show a single light. Do not enter in any way with any combination. When I connect by usb the only thing that appears in device manager is "apx device." Already tried so many things and nothing worked.
anyone have any idea what's going on?
by the way, I tried a lot here in xda before opening a thread.

No, no, no and no. the only sign of life when it is connected to the pc. Appears "apx" in device manager.
Yeah you are in apx mode, which is basically the boot section of the nvidia tegra chipset.
You should be able to boot normally by unplugging the phone, remove battery for a few seconds, reinsert and hold power button for about 10 seconds
Also try holding power and vol+ (hold them a while) you should be able to boot into normal recovery

I've try that but dont work.
In device manager the apx device is it properly installed or does it have the triangle?
When it first connected as apx device it probably asked you for drivers, i doubt you installed them.
I don't know if the apx drivers for the 04 are out already, check these terms in xda i know some people have been working on them.
Maybe you can find them here
If the device isn't bricked you are in a situation in which you should be able to flash stuff.
For some this method worked:
Try turn off phone
take battery out
hold vol- and put usb cable into phone
if s/w mode starts put battery in and flash kdz
Otherwise check this thread out
or this
I have to go out and can't follow you for a while, sorry

The only way for you to get connected in APX is without battery, connect to PC while pressing vol- & vol+.
Anyway... why you want to do that? APX mode doesn't work in JB.
Ok... I got it.
Did you tried to deactivate the APX device in device manager?
You can try to performe the bootloader unlock again (run adb and connect the phone while the program wait for device...)
http://www.4shared.com/rar/HFf4newq/LGO4X-UNLOCK-BOOTLOADER.html (instructions inside).
Or try to get in SW mode by trying untill it works... (connect to PC while pressed vol-).
Any update on the problem?

No, i think what happened was that all the firmware is erased and this naturally gave access to apx that should be hidden by the software. Probably there was some error when I wipe to put the CM10. I see no other explanation.
The phone is actually mine. Already sent it to warranty hoping they'll fix it.
Resuming, the phone went unexpectadly in APX mode and havent found a way of quitting that mode, couldn't boot S/W neither bootloader.
And btw the phone is carrier locked and to be honest I'm not sure if it might be part of the problem or not. Anyway in about two weeks the phone should be back and hopefully fixed. If not I'll check here for some more help guys, thanks for attetion so far
Well i've got this problem with a Xperia Z1 from a friend of mine. It's not powering on. If i press the power button the phone won't turn on. It can enter fastboot but that is everything. The phone is fully charged because that's the only thing that works so far beside the fastboot. It's on stock firmware no custom ROM. Maybe that you people of XDA have the solution i hope so or experienced the same problem and that it is fixable.
Greetings,
Kyrindia

Power up phone, connect to pc, install driver, then run fastboot on your pc and run:
Code:
fastboot continue
Let me know if it helps!

Did something happen to the phone?
Like dropped it in some liquid other than water?
Does the camera button still function?
For an android reinstall:
Boot the phone normally and perform a software reinstall using Sony PC Companion, connect it via USB to your pc.
With PCC you can fully reinstall the software on the phone.

The phone screen was replaced recently. The camera button works fine. And i don't know if there was any other liquid then water in the phone or something like that. The last thing that i could try is to reinstall the software and hopefully that works.
Thanks anyway :good:
Hey All!
I was recently tasked with getting lost data off a Nexus 6. I was given only the motherboard to do so (the previous person tried to open the phone to replace the screen and destroyed all of the ribbon wires connecting the buttons to board) So, I have only the motherboard. Connecting to a USB power source gives me the green LED at the top so I know that it's not completely shot. I was wonder if anyone knew how I could possibly get the motherboard to boot up to a point that I could pull data from in. Again, I have no buttons or battery. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I'm a technician, I think it's impossible to retrieve data this way. Even if you could boot the phone (jump the power on switch pins) , you will need to unlock the screen. From what i know, from fastboot you can't backup anything, but I'm not 100% sure so wait for confirmation. Maybe if you try to enter recovery, if it has twrp installed. With the stock one it a not possible ,and to flash twrp bootloader must be unlocked which imply debug usb is on and allow bootloader unlock is checked in development settings. I had the same problem with a nexus 5, and I was lucky because i had a spare broken screen almost working and a damaged battery.

What you would need are some professional tools. You will need to get a jtag machine. They normally run about $1500. This will allow you to read and write to just the motherboard.

A jtag machine is for sure the best solution ,some repair center could do the job
Thank you all for the suggestions. I guess I'll be looking for a jtag machine or someone who has one.
It might be possible but there are 2 IFs:
1 - if you can boot
2 - if ADB is on.
If both those IFs are fullfilled then you can backup any partition from adb with the command dd.
Good luck!!!
yes you can !!
needed-
1.twrp latest image
2.minimal adb and fastboot drivers configured.
steps-
-create a folder and copy all the needed files in one place.
-disconnect the battery connector just to make sure it boots properly in bootlader.
-connect the battery connector.
-hold down power+volume down button to boot into bootloader and connect usb.
-make sure its detected as fastboot device in using the fastboot devices command using cmd.
-type fastboot boot "recovery name".img it will boot into recovery. wait for sumtym...
-it will get detected in pc.
profit.

Hey,
He only has the motherboard, nothing else...
ohh sorrryyy but a battery will be of great help for him..
I left my Lumia 928 charging on the wall for the night and first thing in the morning while taking it off I noticed it was stuck in a boot look at the "NOKIA" screen. Seems like bootloader got corrupted for no good reason.
I can make it start Flash mode though and also Mass Storage mode with WP Internals.
Is there some way I can restore boot other than flashing original firmware and losing all my data???
Any help attempt is appreciated
I have just got this problem on my lumia 730. I have used Windows Recovery Tools to repair my phone. connect your phone to your computer by a USB cable. open WRT, if it don't detect your phone, hit the button My phone was not detected, choose your your device family and press power button + volume down button until it detected. if this doesn't work, try it again or you can use Nokia Recovery Tools. Hope this work for you

Hi Guys,
I really need help with this one. I have tried almost everything.
Here is my problem.
I have an Rog phone 3 strix edition QUALCOMM based.
I repaired the screen because i dropped the phone.
Everything was fine working well. Me with my big head decided to do an factory reset to wipe everything clean from the phone and then the problem started.
The phone was restarting every time i plugged in a usb c cable. If i wanted to listen to some music on headset wont work because it will end in a bootloop.
Now the phone is stuck in CSC Fastboot mode and PC wont recognized it. The screen will turn on and send me to CSC fastboot but that's it. I can turn it back off.
Can i Revive the phone or is it food for the recycling bin?
Please Help.
Sincerely,
Ayolyas
With some effort you should be able to get back on track - unless it's hardware related to the display change you've done.
Can you do a reboot to bootloader from the boot menu? If you can confirm if you have fastboot access. If you do, RAW flash the device.
Worst case, you force the device into EDL mode and do a flash from there, but leave at as the last option.
If the relpaced display is causing harware issues, that's a bigger problem...
Hi Andrologic,
I cannot reboot to the bootloader. I am stuck in csc fastboot. I was trying to put it in edl mode i even bought an edl cable. But i have no idea how to use it or how to put the phone in edl.
I went back to the repair shop but the phone was working fine when it left the phone shop. The problem started when i decided to go for factory reset.

So, when you turn on the device, it falls into CSC FB and you can't navigate anywhere at all from there?
What happens if you try to do a RAW flash from CSC FB?
Flashing it in EDL mode may otherwise be the only option. Power off the device completely. Then hold Vol up+down pressed and connect to the USB side port. You should land with a completely black screen and on your pc see the device identified in 9008 mode - that's EDL. Since you have a flash cable, you can obviously use that too.
Remember you need Qualcom drivers installed to work in EDL mode. There is a guide with steps for EDL flashing somewhere here on the forum. All the steps are explained.

Yes, you have flash cable, so getting into EDL shouldn't be an issue any way.
This is a useful video on how to use your flash cable to force the device to EDL:
Just remember you need QCom drivers installed to flash in EDL mode, the normal drivers won't do it in EDL.
What is the device identified as on your PC when in CSC FB? Can you send any FB commands to the device at all? Does 'Fastboot Devices' return your device id? If so, try first to do a RAW flash from the Fastboot state you are stuck at. You don't really want to mess with EDL if you can avoid it. Download one of the RAW rom's from the links here on the forum. Version number doesn't matter as long as it matches with your device version, i.e. WW assuming you're on Global.
