Android enthusiast. Been around since the internet came into existence. Used to play DOS PC games and spent my childhood on the Nintendo systems until I built my first PC.
Recently put a JY-UQ138N4G-H Joying Android 10 stereo head unit in my vehicle and I'm having issues with it. Worked great for 30 days, but now locks up and freezes so I'll be hitting the search and forums trying to find solutions. I think it's a cooling problem. I put two 50mm heatsinks on it but still having issues.
I usually find XDA info posted across Reddit so I figured better to join late than never and explore what all XDA has to offer.

Hi guys/gals. I come from a place called nvnews. I've lurked unregistered for a while, and now that my HTC Pure is on its way (as well as an LG Xenon) I figured I'd register to further check out what this community has to offer.
I'm excited to see how the Pure can dovetail into my life as a dad, guitar player/drummer, forum mod/staff member, PC gamer and landscaper.
I've had a Blackjack I for over two years now which I OCed with OMAPClock and put WinMo 6 on it. ... and since it can't play TCPMP movies and stream the audio via bluetooth without major slowdowns, it's time for it to be retired. Guess I'll give it to my kids so they can put music on it and play some NES titles.
I'll be interested in the possibility of running Android on my Pure if it makes sense... I'll overclock it if there's a need for snappier performance, I'm excited to see how Pocket IE 6 and Opera perform vs Skyfire, I hope to play Call of Duty 2 or another decently polished FPS on it, and I'd like to investigate the possibility of the usb port to output A/V.
I can always be found at nvnews, a PC gaming hardware community that has been around for a LONG time. I'm pretty sure however that I'll probably stay logged onto this site 24/7 as well.
So yeah, hello!
Welcome to XDA! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and expectations. I hope you enjoy this site!.
One thing that you can do while you are waiting for your Pure, I will recommend that you take some time for reading the rules and visiting the forums so you can start to get familiar with this community.
Welcome again!
Cheers!
Hi Everyone! I'm Janus! I'm from the Philippines. Just stumbled upon this site while watching a video on youtube on how to install google playstore on fire hd 10 tablet. Was actually having issues installing it so there you go. Just bought this table last Christmas as a gift to my son. He keeps bugging me about installing playstore because he can't download the games that he is playing. Anyway, I love playing games, more on console than mobile or pc. Not that really techie but I can work my way around with proper instructions(a video sample much better ). I'm excited to be a part of this community. I have already checked some topics I'm already interested in. I actually started a thread or discussion or what ever it is called about my issue regarding my son's tablet. Hopefully I get an answer soon and be able to install so my son won't bother me anymore with this thing. That's it! I have to go now. I saw some thread earlier. Got to read them first! hehehe!

Hello and welcome aboard!
I have been a member of the XDA forum in the dim distant past, but have not been on for many years.
I have now been retired for over 10 years and last year moved from Bristol to Swansea and enjoying the local beauty spots, and at the tender age of 75 I spend my time fixing up an old boat and enjoying walks with our rescue dog.
My interest now in this forum is to try and solve a problem with an Android Headset in my car, and I am hoping someone might have some ideas on sorting it out.
Thanks for your interest,
John

Cheers.
I have been on XDA looking for answers from time to time. Lately I have been acquiring many new android devices and need helpful information. I have head units in my cars, tablets, phones, TV box.
I am a software developer by trade and retired 2 years ago. I have worked with linux since the beginning (version 0.99).
I have registered with XDA today to get some answers about my latest android head unit.
