Today I will bring a fix for a common issue on sprint variants since they are setup for CDMA/roaming system instead of GSM, this is only for these ones who have unlocked already they sprint variant of M7 which is still able to be done by viper sim unlock helper app but it requires a downgrade, this will be explained in other post to help some users unlock their sprint variant.
As we know, every time we install a custom ROM, we may encounter that the SIM is not recognized or maybe we have roaming indicator, even using testing menu *#*#4636#*#* and setting the string to Global (Auto PRL) or LTE/UMTS (Auto PRL) doesn't seem to work on some people, this is happening due to the implementations made by the ROM developers since some of devs use the CDMA lines instead of GSM.
Some other ROMs comes prepared to face this issue but let's be honest, not all of them are good ROMs and may have more problems than other ROMs.
For now the fix is simplified in just one step, you guys should replace or delete some of your build.prop strings
Most common strings to remove is the telephony.LteOnCmda=1 string also there's other sprint strings that should be removed in build.prop, however I've attached a build.prop file in this post to share it, it was extracted from LOS 14.1 since it was the ROM I normally use, I have tested on other ROMs and the fix also works, but if you would like to add APN, you should use the build.prop attached here.

For some reason WiFi Calling, VoLTE options are greyed out, it is because ROM blocks it, some other ROMs doesn't block these options.

Since switching from from phone's original ROM and base band I've been encountering the problem with using USSD codes (e.g. ##21#). The result I always get was MMI error as shown as below.

Does somebody had a rom/bb setting which works?

it may help us alot if you could provide some more info about what rom you chose.
Rom, kernel, BB, RIL
with this we could try to locate possible issues with the phone.

It may have been smarter to ask this question in the User Thread for CM 10, then others with that rom could have tested with you.
try doing a clean flash, without restoring any files.
and see if that makes a difference. also check to see if you actually have a signal.
by ringing your top up service. or sending a text to someone.
it could be the call bug, or something else. i dont believe you need any services running to have ussd to work since its a network service that runs along side your network provider.
you should add this bug to the CM10 User thread anyway. USSD codes are rarely something most folk would test.
let me know if a fresh install works or not, i'll give the new CM10 a go later today after i've finished doing more tests.
I have a rooted HTC One, and I've been running Viper Rom for months. I recently tried to flash the Stable CM10.1.3. When it booted I had lost Phone/Mobile Data. I tried to restore the data, but nothing worked, so I nandroid'd back to Sense.
I still don't have data. My 4G works, but I cannot make calls or text.
Am I correct in understanding that I need to achieve S-Off and flash a radio? Ideally, I'd like to have CM10.1 running on my device with data back. How can I achieve this?

Sounds like you flashed a non Sprint version of CM
PM me I can help you fix it
or you changed your CDMA Subscription status in CM10 from NV to RUSIM
flash back to CM10 and check that. happened to me once
I fixed the signal issue. Here's what I did.
Other thread
I flashed a CM Rom and confirmed that I was on NV not SIM per that thread linked above. I was already on NV so that wasn't the problem. On the CM rom, I typed *#*#4636#*#* and I changed the network from unknown to CDMA/LTE. I tried to make a test call, and it said my phone wasn't active. Awesome sign!
At this point I restored my Sense nandroid. I ran Activate Phone from the menu, and then made another test call. Mission Accomplished.
Does anybody use the Sprint Public IP add-on for their plan? I turned this on to use tethering for PS/Xbox, but when I try using any custom ROMs, LTE does not work. I get signal for voice with the exclamation point, but then drops to 3g. Stock works perfectly fine, but no custom is working for me.
Edit, just additional info, I've tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51308741&postcount=276 and I've tried the sprint fix zip. I also tried restore stock backup, get data and restore custom. None work except stock based.
I know this is an old thread so I'm sorry for resurrecting it but I'm on a nexus 6 with stock software (except root) on nougat. It's 2017 and I'm having this exact same issue and I've been through multiple tiers of support with Sprint and they can't figure it out. I'm hoping someone knows a fix to this. This is the only thread I could find that has my exact same issue.
Was about to start a thread about this issue, instead I'll just resurrect this one.
I have been trying to figure this out for months now. The only think that may point to the cause I could find is in the modem packets to and from the tower. Soon as you apply Static IP the tower rejects it saying your not subscribed to this option, thus denying LTE/3G attachment with the tower. Here is a screenshot of the packet, I have gotten so far as to have an official ticket opened with sprint, and emailing countless photos to them to help them diagnose it, they do not seem to have any idea whats going on.

Has somebody checked how to enable VoLTE on unlocked Galaxy Note 8??
Look in settings of the phone app...
Well, in my case, enabling volte involved 2 steps, I received a sms from my carrier telling me that for using volte I had to go to them, there they issued me a new sim card AND they activated the service in THEIR system, with these two steps , the volte switch in settings became functional(no longer grayed out)
Yeah there is no setting present.
Earlier on Nougat we could get setting through Shortcut master app, but that failed on orea and even on pie.
So is there any other method to get volte setting.
I have US N950U1 model working in India.

Yup. I did already enable the VOLTE
Just head over the settings.
Once you're in there then just choose " CONNECTION "
then " MOBILE NETWORK ".
The VoLTE option has to be there under the name of " VoLTE Calls "

Sounds like you need to check with your Service Provider
I just got the august security patch and now I have wifi calling and VoLTE option, it wasnt there before, my phone is the unlocked US version N950U1, the compilation version is the N950U1UEUDSH3
With the recent official Lineage build for Z3C, I imported a cheap 5803 from Hong Kong to play around with. Installed Lineage, and noticed I was only getting an Edge connection on T-Mobile. Re-installed a "stock" ROM via Flashtool/Xperifirm, and the problem persisted. I've had two 5803's in the past, with the same carrier, and had no problems with the data connection. Going into the "Configuration" service menu, I looked at the available bands, and it seems like lots are missing (basing my expectations on FrequencyCheck). Am I confused, or is there something wrong/different with this phone?

Service Info > Model Info shows D5803?
That's the confusing thing, the settings do show model D5803. After searching the forums more, I found another thread from a user that has a similar problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/d6603-brand-device-basebands-missing-t3316118 -- phone flashed with a different model firmware. I guess the person I bought from was dodgy.
The only thing I can think of is:
in the compartment where the SIM card is, there is a white plastic slip that you can pull out. It will have the model number on it. Mine specifically says "Model: D5803". You have to pull the strip almost all the way out to read it.
I recommend using a pin to pull it out. There's a little hole/slit that you can poke the pin through. Do it slowly and avoid pulling the slip all the way out, as I suspect it would be difficult to slide back in if you pull it out too far.
