I have my P5 which I love. But there's one annoying thing about it that I can't figure out how to toggle: When I turn off the display by clicking the power button, then when I touch the (now turned off) display again (eg whwen putting the phone in my pocket) it turns on in an "unlocked" state. The padlock on the top of the screen is unlocked and I can interact with whatever apps are displayed on my lock screen. If I turn off the display and put the phone down on a table then (at least after a while) when I double click the display it turns on and the padlock is now displayed locked and I can interact with anything until I actually unlock it using the fingerprint sensor.
So my question is: Is there any way I can make the phone lock immediatly and completely when I switch off the display by clicking the power button?
Thanks in advance

Actually yes. But I had that switched on but as it says: "Except when kept unlocked by Smart lock". That I had missed. Smart lock was switched on and I hope that was the culprit. It is now switched off
Thanks for the help!

Just got the diamond2 and am loving it. Came from the touch pro. Problem is I have been pocket dialing while its in my leather case. This is not good, as I am a real estate salesperson and it is calling some important people. Does anyone have a solution? BTW, I was using touch lock pro on the touch pro.
Thanks!
hi lorettaboy
you should lock the kets by holding the end call button for a few seconds and that should sort your problem out
I forget what it's called but there is this locking software that will completely lock the phone if you rotate it around the long axis one way and unlock if you do the same the other way.
I have been using throttle lock though. It is like the Android unlock screen where you draw patterns.
If u press the power on/off button for a second, the screen goes off.....isnt it ok to avoid your problem?

I think what may be happening is that the power button is being pressed while in the case unlocking the phone and keys. I had this happen before and still does sometimes when in my pocket.
4 characters: S2U2
Hoping wm6.5 features a lock that's as functional as S2U2.
I personally use http://pocketshield.netserver01.com/ It locks your phone when its closed, and you have different ways to 'wake' it. the 3 that I set it currently is:
1. if the phone is in the case (aka dark) it will not unlock even if phone is ringing, but once you remove it from the sleeve/pouch it will be unlocked.
2. If its night time and the above prevents you from unlocking in the night, shaking phone left to right once will unlock it
3. lastly if I take out stylus it will unlock.

Googled it, light sensor lock sounded interesting, tested it. Never got the light sensor unlock to work. Had to keep tapping the lock button for a varying number of times to unlock. But worse: got catch-22-ed twice within ten minutes.
The first time I got caught with the screen on, the 'turn off' dialog active, and Touch lock Pro active but not clickable because of the turn off dialog. No way to unlock the device and the power button was hijacked by Touch Lock Pro. Removed back cover, took out battery and restarted.
The second time the device locked with the screen off, and the power button couldn't turn the screen on again. No way to find out what happened this time. Removed back cover, took out battery and restarted.
This tool is possibly the least compatible tool with the TD2 you will ever find
Hello all,
I am looking for a simple application that will allow my Xperia to display the time with a simple button press while on standby.
Currently, when I press the power button to bring the Xperia out of standby, the screen will load with the keypad lock, where I would then enter my PIN to unlock the phone and go to my Today screen. Only problem is that the keypad lock screen doesn't display the time in the top right corner! Therefore, as my Xperia is my watch, I must unlock my Xperia everytime just to open the Today screen to see the clock
Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
I think S2U2 offers this, it comes with it's own locking system. I don't like it though, but many people do.
This should help:
Settings\System\Clock & Alarms\"More" tab --- there you can select to Display the clock on the title bar in all programs -- so you can see the time even if your phone is in locked state.

Yes I know, but he wanted to display the time without need to enter his PIN on the screen with keypad lock.

My phone is reacting like I clicked on the power button when I put it on a wireless charger.
1. It start's iris scanner.
2. Shows a "hold phone closer" at the top and "use biometrics or swipe screen to unlock" at the bottom.
3. After some time it shows the tap icon to try iris recognition again.
4. It turns off the screen.
Any setting or fix for it?

I know I my phone when I plug it in to charge it automatically turns on the screen. So maybe you have the automatic unlock option turned on where you don't have to swipe up to start the Iris unlock process

Found it, thank you. Iris unlock when screen turns on. I think I turned it on in winter when I wasn't able to use it because of gloves. I wish there was an option to not turn on the screen when putting on charge.

Just out of curiosity, what's the disadvantage of it briefly turning on then? I don't see what good or harm it does.

It's distracting as it is in my line of sight, right below monitor on my desk. Also when the battery is low/dying, it seems like a waste. There is no harm but I don't see a point as well.
Hi, I'm using Note9 with Screen lock type = PIN + Intelligent scan + Fingerprints.
Here is my experience:
[1] When I turn on screen (by the Power button or Home button), the lock screen appears. Here I can swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification bar.
[2] If I swipe the screen to unlock, the num-pad appears where users can input PIN. Here I can NOT access to the Notification bar.
The question is, how can I disable access to the Notification bar at the step [1] above.
(access to the Notification bar is already disabled in the step [2] above).
Thank you guys for reading my query.

I don't see notification when I pull down on the lock screen. All I get is the settings pull down shortcuts.

Weird. On my Note9 it happens as steps [1] and [2] I shown above.
Did you check it clearly by following steps [1] and [2] carefully?
Thanks for your feedback.

I'm using pin and fingerprint for unlock also.
If I press the power button to lock the device , then I press the home button im presented with the lock screen. If swipe up I'm asked to enter pin number. If I swipe down I see the shortcut toggles.
I have my notifications as icons not banners though.

Yes yes I meant these shortcut toggles.
I don't want this to be shown on the lock screen as I (or other people) can change settings by tapping on these shortcut toggles.

I know exactly what you mean. I had the same issue on my Pixel. What is more frustrating for me is that many times when the phone is in my pocket the notification icons get pulled down and something gets turned on/off by accident. There should be a way to disable the notification pull down until the phone is unlocked.

Oh, never mind, I have tested on my Note9 and it turned out that although you can pull down to show the notification bar, you can NOT toggle those icons as it requires the screen to be unlocked before toggling on/off.
So no need to worry anymore.

Yes but here's the problem... if you accidently pull the notifications down and touch an icon and then pull it out of your pocket and unlock it, anything you accidently touched will be turned on/off. Therefore I still wish there was a way to disable it from the lock. screen

Nope, all unattended touches before unlocking screen will not be accepted. I have tested.
You can check it by yourself.

I did test it. From the unlock screen I pulled down notifications and touched the wifi icon. Then I unlocked my phone and the wifi turns off.

I also tested on my Note 9, here's my results:
WiFi can't be turned off unless you unlock the phone right away, so if the phone is locked and you pull down the notification panel and click to turn off WiFi, it will it prompt to unlock the phone, if you don't unlock and screen turns off and then you unlock, WiFi will still be on.
Bluetooth: It can be turned off and doesn't require the phone to be unlocked, but it can't be turned on without unlocking the phone.
Sounds: Ringer can be changed without unlocking the phone, so you could accidentally turn your ringer off
Flight Mode: Can't be changed unless you unlock the phone (same scenario as with WiFi)
These are the only 4 I've tested.

Anyone had any luck with this?
I'm also trying to disable the Notification pull-down drawer on the lock screen for security reasons.
I went through all the menus and settings, but it seems Samsung has removed this option altogether.
I'm using a Note 9, Android 9, OneUI v1.0 (latest as of this post).
I have a Bixby routine set for Home that turns on Wi-Fi and keeps the phone unlocked. Trouble is, the phone unlock seems to stop working after a period of time (using the phone or not), and the only way to fix it is to turn off the routine and turn it back on.
Anyone else seeing this?
Unfortunately, I do not have an answer to your question, but another question: How do you set the phone to unlocked? Cannot find "unlock phone" as an option, except at the default "in car"-routine
I just tried creating a new routine, and I see the option under the "Lock Screen" category.

Strange. The only options on my S10e for Lock screen, is Always on display, and Change lock screen shortcuts.
If I could just copy another routine, it would be easy.
Why not use smart lock and set it to stay unlocked at a location?

Smart Lock tends to rarely work for me, and there's also the fact it disables 4 hours after inactivity.
I am in a basement, but I don't think that's actually causing an issue as the moment I disable and re-enable my Home routine, it starts working as it should again immediately.
Do you have received a work profile enforced on the phone?

What's the initial routine you're using? Also, what's your normal lock screen type and unlock method?
I use a fingerprint + Pattern unlock normally. As for the routine, it's the "Home" one that I believe was an initial recommended one that I just modified.
It will show up if the if condition is set to "place"
