Hi From Sunny South Africa - Introductions

Hi There, I'm from sunny South Africa and have been following threads on this great forum for years and it has helped me allot. So I decided to join and sign up.
I've been fascinated by computer systems since I got my first 286 PC on 1985 and have thought myself networks, servers and PC operations over they years I've been on OS's from dos, Linux, Novel, and Windows and its time to learn a new skill. I have also been in the mobile industry for quite some time when Windows CE and Symbian OS's were still a thing.
Recently I stared to tinker with Android and I find the whole eco system very fascinating and I want to learn more and what's a better place than where all the legends hang out.

An Introduction, I guess

I'm crispycat. I've been interested in computers since I got a refurbished Acer laptop running Windows XP at the age of 4. At around 10 I had the desire to start developing software. I created my first website and started making some pretty useless apps in Visual Basic (yikes). Eventually I learned C# and more recently Java. As someone who is very passionate about digital privacy and cybersecurity, having full control over my phone is very important to me, and this forum has been very helpful.
Glad to see you here crispycat! Your background and contributions are appreciated!
Cheers

Hey there XDA Members,
I am Arihant Gupta, Second Year High School from India, taken computer science as an optional subject, 2 years of basic middle school and 2 years of high school Java Programming Student, I have this deep passion for learning things about computers but since i am from not so urban area I am having a hard time finding someone who could help me walk through this exciting technical world. I recently ended up bricking my phone while trying to root my device and also ended up having a hell lot of errors on Android Studio as a started to learn it online recently. Thus after so much trouble i finally ended up here a place where someone might help me through it. I wish everyone a good time.

Would Love to learn

Hello my name is Michael, I'm a fan of xda and have been off and on for a while now.Ive always been very fascinated in computers and other electronic devices. I've learned a little bit about rooting, and jailbreaking phones over the last years my uncle was able to help me. He was a computer programmer/Web page designer for Microsoft for years. Here recently he had a bad accident and it left him partially brain dead,it's really sad that I hadn't got to spend more time with him when I was able.Ive owned and operated my own Remodeling And Handyman business for nearly 13 years now but due to several accidents that I've survived, my body has began to start falling apart the older I get.I would love to find some time to begin learning all I can about computers and phones so I could possibly make a career out of it soon.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Introduction from an oldee newbee

I'm an old guy who has worked on small computers during the early 80s. I had to learn Unix to be able to run my first desktop which had 2 7.5 in floppies. You have eclipsed me with innovations and technical expertise, yet I'm still here persevering. I'm only entering into the world of Android, specifically to deGooglize to stop piracy of my data.
