Hi
I forced Android Auto to use wireless connection using developer options.
AA works now wireless, but while connected to the car with operating AA I have no internet connection.
It seems that the phone is trying to use data from the car connecting to its wifi hotspot (but the car has not a data plan).
If I disable the car hotspot or disable the wifi in the phone AA is no more working.
Any idea?

Have you tried enabling the Settings -> Wi-Fi -> More settings -> Wi-Fi+ option?
If this option is enabled and if Internet is not available through your Wi-Fi connection then the phone should use your phone's mobile data...
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I tried but nothing changes.
I think it's because network connection between phone and car works well.
Car has an esim but it's locked only to work on manufacturer website (phone navigation is ok but only inside that website)

(extremely bold and probably not a valid guess) It may mean that, Wi-Fi of your car lets the phone resolve domains and this would lead the phone to think as if it can connect to the Internet through this Wi-Fi connection.
If you've not already limited network access to some applications and you don't mind changing restrictions when you get in and get out of the car:
Settings -> Mobile network -> Data usage -> Network access : remove Wi-Fi access of the apps when you are in the car, so that the Wi-Fi restricted apps are forced to use Mobile data only..
I think the one you described is the cause of the problem but your solution is quite hard to apply..
However I'll check if it works using your suggestion.
Ich habe genau das gleiche Problem mit dem P30 Pro und AAWireless. ich habe jetzt schon alle einstelungen durch auch die oben beschrieben. Denke es liegt an der Software des P30.
I think I solved the problem. Now it works:
Edit car wifi connection with mobile.
Add a fake proxy.
Now android auto works wireless and connection is working too.

Ich glaube, ich habe das Problem gelöst. Jetzt gehts:
Bearbeiten Sie die WLAN-Verbindung des Autos mit dem Handy.
Fügen Sie einen gefälschten Proxy hinzu.
Jetzt funktioniert Android Auto drahtlos und die Verbindung funktioniert auch.

wie genau
Keep car wifi pressed, select "modify" than "advanced" and in proxy settings choose "manual" and type a dummy proxy address.
Du meinst aber im handy die einstellung
Yes, sure. Read carefully my instructions

bei mir klappt es garnicht egal was ich mache. bekomme ich nicht zum laufen.

hast du die aawireless box umbenannt
get bei mir trotzdem nicht
Yes I renamed my car wifi
Another Solution for the Wifi and Internet-problem:
Makes sure you delete the AAWireless wifi from your list of known wifi. Then reconnect to AAwireless in your car. If asked to connect to wifi without internet absolutely ignore this! Don't pres anything. not connect and not cancel. Then wifi and 4G are both working. (Make sure you have wifi+ enabled in your wifi settings!!)
I'm using redmi note 7 and i have the same problems. The feature "use mobil data" works on my modified home network but not on car radio wi-fi network. If it's connect to the car wi-fi the option to choose use mobil data is not showing. I'm so frustrated and disappointed about that. Pls help

Hi, One question. How did you managed to change the dongle wifi name?

At work we have a Netgear WLAN router, without WEP/WPA (for testing) und without DHCP. Some iPhones of my colleagues have connections without problems und full strength (the router is around 5 meters away).
On my Diamond I have set a static IP (because of no DHCP is running), gateway und DNS. If I switch on WLAN I can select the Netgear but no connection will be established (I see the WLAN "tower" and to swinging arrows at all time). WLAN strength has a range from nothing to (very) low. And IP is shown as 0.0.0.0.
At home I have a WLAN router too but with DHCP. There I can connect to WLAN without any problems.
I need your help!

Purzel

Sadly no... I have tried several IPs, all are free, but without success.

Try turning the power setting of WLAN to Highest Performance (or something like that, have the Dutch version) instead of Best Battery. Only a small suggestion as this will only increase your Wifi range, but if you're 5 meters away from the router you should already have a sufficient signal
Or you can enable DHCP on wlan router
Thx for your help but doesn't work.
@Colinvanlier: I have set it but with no effect on singal strength.
@chryss2k: Would be lucky If I could do that... but this poor WLAN router has no DHCP server.

Purzel
Same here...Anyway,my Diamond has detected the IP,but still cannot connect to the Internet ,the signal strenght is the highest though
Same here... I'm connected to the WLan-Router, but no connection to the Internet... Notebook etc. works fine, only Diamond doesn't
Have tried it at home at this moment - works like a charm. Well, where is the fault on WLAN at work?

Hello,
I have an HTC Kaiser with WM6 on it, and I try to connect to a PEAP secured
network. Every time I connect to the network, I get the message "Cannot log
on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to
positively identify you." I tried to edit the registry as said here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-284534.html
but it still doesn't work. Maybe anyone has a solution?
Thanks in advance!
Will it solve the problem if I upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1?

simply, yes
i hab the same problem with the network at my university,
after upgrading to 6.1 it works fine, cause you can disable ne cert-use
bye andré
Where is the option to disable it in WM 6.1?
I've been running WM 6.1 on my Kaiser for over 2 months. WiFi connections were running smoothly - no problems then. But from some time, the phone is just trying to connect, showing finally an error message. The router is Linksys WRT300N. Protected with WPA-PSK2 TKIP.
have you tried connecting to another wifi router? Maybe it's something to do with your router settings.
It connects to unsecured networks. Also, the phone connects when I set a fixed IP, but I can't use internet then. I might turn off the security, but some dicks from the nearby house found my network and were using it - that's why WPA-PSK is turned on.
you may want to try setting your router to mix mode which mean devices with 802.11 g,b, and n can connect. while you may have it on N that may cause the device to not connect to the router.

After successfull Connection with my bluthose headseat i lost the Provider.
The only way to geht the Provider back Is to restart the Phone
I will need to determine the MAC address to submit to get connected to specific wifi network for authorization. I don't exactly see a way of finding it as it appears to be randomized. Anyone have this issue?
NVM. figure out the issue. The phone's wifi connection by default is using randomized MAC address and not using the device address. If I ever get back to the office, the office connection will have to have that feature turn off.
About the tehephone, then scroll down.
