Hello, I am Michael Kamara. I think it is suffice to say that problems with my phone drew me to xda (phone problems still going on by the way). I am also a student 3.1, Computer science. I look forward to keeping up with emerging technologies now that I am here.
From Kenya, with love.

Hello Michael welcome to XDA!

Hi all,
It's been a hectic few weeks. I recently moved houses and was stuck without my DSL for what seemed like eternity. I'm back now (if anyone cares  ) and will try to help out once again on the forums.
I'm working on a user manual for the XDA Tools which I hope to release soon.
I'd also like to share with you guys how suddenly things can change. A colleague of mine from work died this morning when he smashed his Mustang into the guard rail of the highway he was driving on. He was 21. There he was speaking to me the day before, said 'See you tomorrow.' and now in a morgue. Kind of puts everything else into perspective.
Take care.
Sheran
Sorry to hear that. Life would be so much better if we treated everybody as if it was the last time we were ever going to see them, that way there would be fewer regrets when somebody does die.
Sorry to hear that.
If you follow rallying in America, or international maybe..
My Uncle Roger Freeman was killed in a rallying accident in America in July. Mark Lovell was driving the Subaru, which was competing in the Oregan Trails Rally. Cars are dangerous, there are no 2 ways about that.
The funeral's for Mark, and Roger were spectacular here in the UK. You just have to do these people proud when they have been taken away like this. Mark and Roger will be remembered forever in the rallying world.
My thoughts go out to the friends and family. Just remember the good times...
Best Regards, Martin Freeman

Would you like to stop that?
I'm quite sure many of you have no idea who I am, but that's alright. I wouldn't expect you to.
Just wanted to give my appreciation to the MANY MANY devs here, in thanks for making my old devices much more than the manufacturers intended them to be.
I'll be serving one year of Active Army Duty (Deployment) in the Middle-East & Surrounding areas, hopefully still enjoying my HTC HD7, until around July of 2012.
I'll miss xda, as it's been one of my other homes for a little over two years now.
Love you guys, see you soon!
Have a great trip Be safe now!

Hey bro be safe out there. My sis is in the Air Force in Afghanistan. Just be careful and I really appreciate those who serve our country. Have a safe trip
Be safe always!

Best of luck to you man, come back safe, or just be safe in general.
-Remember, Android hell is a real place and you will be sent there at the first sign of defiance-
Take care! Thank you for serving!
Good luck and be safe. I had the luxury of serving during peacetime, and I tip my hat to guys who are really putting it on the line.
It is a shame that troops are deployed without an imminent reason anyways..
have a great trip

G'day
I'm David, and have been a member of XDA since 2006, back when Windows Mobile 5 ruled the forums, and Android hadn't even been thought about.
I currently work in IT Support at a University in Australia. Previously I was a project engineer with a defence contractor. I worked in avionics/electronics, and doing the company IT on the side. I have a B/Eng in IT, and am also qualified to work on aircraft avionics, though I haven't done that for a long time!
I'm obviously Scottish , but moved to Australia in 2001 when I was 21.
I was a BIG fan of the early O2 devices (O2 XDA II, XDA IIs etc), then progressed to HTC WM devices. I even made a few ROMs for the HTC Touch Diamond, which were quite popular
Then when Android was ported to the HD2, I gave it a try, and instantly moved across and never looked back!
I joined the XDA moderator team in 2010, and progressed my way up to Assistant Admin to @MikeChannon (he's not as bad as people say )
The mod team are a great bunch! Keep an eye out for our recruitment notices that go out every now and again
If you need help with anything forum related, please feel free to contact me directly. I can help with name changes, passwords, forum or account issues, pretty much anything

So what’s a Cobber?
In the Yiddish dialect of Hebrew, a cobber is a friend, comrade or good companion. In old Australian slang, a cobber is a good buddy, a pal (‘ga day, cobber!) And in Britain a cobber is someone to take a liking to.

My translator (https://www.dict.cc/) just says it's Australian slang for buddy or mate. In German we call it "Kumpel".
Haha yea, it's Aussie slang for friend or mate
And I met and married an Aussie, and moved to Australia when I was 21.

Neither my cousins nor David seem to be affected luckily
Hello and thank you for letting this old sod join XDA
I'm by no means an expert when it comes to tech but more of an enthusiast although I am the one many of my family and friends come to when needing help and/or technical advice and I even sort out iPhones when a cousin of mine manages to forget her details
I've only ever owned 1 iPhone and that was a iPhone 3 and since then I've been an Android fan when it comes to phones and streaming devices.
I've often delved in and out of XDA when doing any research for gadgets or tech support so at 54 I thought it was high time I signed up.
Cheers.
Pete.

Hello friends. My name is Tino (although I always call me from alias or nick, Nova6k0), although I have been visiting, this great community, but it is not so far that I have registered in it. I have to say that I love the work you do. And I am from the world of computer science (in reality, more than electronics, but I always liked computer science, and programming. Although programming I know little, sincerely).
Well nothing, trying to learn from the best.
Greetings.
Welcome to the xda family.
Cheers.
