Question Uninstall Dual App Chrome? - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi,
I have uninstalled Chrome with Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools but somehow when I open links in other Dual Apps such as Facebook, it still opens Chrome browser rather than Brave Browser that I have installed.
I am able to get Dual App Facebook to open in Brave if I also make Brave a Dual App. But I don't want that.
I am guessing there is an internally installed Dual App version of Chrome that I must uninstall?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, dual apps are installed under user 999, so just disable chrome for that user from adb shell:
Code:
pm disable-user --user 999 com.android.chrome

in the last 3 hours since doing it and restarting my phone my battery has gone down by 3% and my memory has increased from 3GB to 3.7GB. Came across no issues so far and I have ran through all settings and apps I have installed with no loss of use or errors/force closes
General usage through out the 3 hours, Facebook, Instagram, Chrome, Outlook & around 15 minutes watching sky go.
I decided against disabling the following as it breaks the Samsung cloud backup and it fails:
BBCAgent & Push Notifications

Speaking of INSTAGRAM did you notice how much it's used in the background even if you put to always sleep and turn background data off

it hasn't even showed up on the battery meter, on the memory meter it has shown up as 21mb over almost 6 hours, I have BD off and always sleeping but I also have all refresh set to off for Instagram so it doesn't nothing at all in the background, only time it updates is when I open it.
Would be nice to list those services in a "shared edit by all" spreadsheet in google drive.
So everybody could contribute and !most important! 1) put comments what are those services for and 2) what are dependencies with other services.
OP: could you do that?

What app does you guys use to disable services?
Ok so I created a google doc with a simple table for you guys to use.
http://bit.ly/2P0m8sr
Or a long Google URL:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16gy-DQoOm1KMMoB3Q5HL0GMNpWZTUKMyOR_lPF8IgLc/edit?usp=sharing
I used a list from OP.
OP, could you please comment in the spreadsheet all the details you used to disable the services.. thanks!
I have tried pm hide and pm disable but both seem to require root.
I'm using adhell3 from the other thread. There's an app disabler in adhell and I disabled some services with it.
Right On

I use package disabler pro

Has anyone found an alternative apk to package disabler pro?

Ok so, I have purchased (package disabler pro) 3 times from google play. It seems Everytime, I get a new device it makes me purchase the app again. And now it's not even in the google playstore. Dev wants me to purchase again. And I refuse to do so.. My question is is there another app that works.
Why you need to purchase it 3 times ?? When you linked your Gmail account that you have used to purchase certain apps the apps doesn't require you to buy it anymore Google playstore download the license key automatically for it
also you can just use command to remove bloatware
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.opera.browser

Because the dev deletes the app to make you have to purchase again with new key. Well yeah if I had a computer, I could do that but I don't

And it's not for bloatware it’s for disabling updates

Question is it possible to use google photos instead of the mi gallery app ?

Hi
Anyway that i could remove the mi gallery app and start using google photos instead ?
If i take a photo and press on the photo , then the gallery starts up , want to start google photos instead ?
You could only remove it if you have root. Why would you want to, just open Google photos. You can probably hide apps also

You have super cool editing tools in gallery app of miui. like photoshop removing persons , erase whatever, sky replacement etc... it is really powerful and great app. but if you really want to yes you can remove it and set up google photos as default gallery app.
You can remove any app without root with adb tools. Just dont remove system apps.!
First go to settings/apps/manage apps/click on the 3 dots in the top right corner/default apps/gallery/select google photos
ADB Commands:
adb devices
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.gallery
Thnks for the help
How many phones Xiaomi could sell if making phones without these idiosyncrasies? Me? I sold my Xiaomi almost instantly just because of this. 99,9% of people would use Google photos instead of that rubbish. Xiaomi cloud? Nobody use it in Europe. None. Xiaomi account? I have yet to know anyone who have this "account". Xiaomi-products for business use? Laughable. Google rules and nobody wants to use anything other.
Xiaomi could save a shotloads of money if they wanted and listen to customers (not asslickers who are the most loudest). Just close that Xiaomi cloud service completely. Remove ALL their own apps from their phones. Remove Xiaomi account and close those servers. Nobody cares. Phones would be awesome after that. Now they are cheap and have great price/performance, but full ot cr*p that nobody cares.

Google is your friend. Put adb and start reading/learning, there are tons of guides elsewhere about Android Debugger. ADB has nothing with Playstore, you have to install to the PC, etc, etc

Question Disabling Bixby and Samsung Pay

Would like to DISABLE Bixby and Samsung Pay in entirety.
There used to be apps that you could use on your Samsung phone, but last I tried that it went belly up and on a per year license, and since is long gone or unsupported.
I don't know ADB too well but am willing to use it to disable/remove all the samsung crap.
Thanks
Why? If you just don't open it, it never does anything.

1) Download GeminiMan WearOS Manager from the Playstore. It simplifies the ADB process. It's a brilliant program. 2) Read up on the debloat page for the Galaxy Watch 4. We pretty much have the same on Watch 5. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/debloat-galaxy-watch-4.4324147/page-9
This got me through cleaning up my watch.
(FYI: GeminiMan made it easy for me to to remove the Samsung Health Monitor and replace it with the version that allows BP and ECG. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-restriction-removed-19th-april-2023.4322527/ )

I would not rely on a third party app to manage packages. Instead enable developer mode and from an adb shell run:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.samsungpay.gear
to disable Samsung Pay. Just disable it, don't uninstall it.
I would not touch Bixby. In case you want to try, the associated packages are:
com.samsung.android.bixby.agent
com.samsung.android.bixby.wakeup
Again, just disable, don't uninstall. But my guess is even if disabled it will cause problems on the watch because other functions depend on Bixby existing even if it is not used. lf you do disable it and it works ok, please let us know.
So far the only app that I know can be safely uninstalled is Global Goals:
pm uninstall --user 0 com.samsung.sree

Don't get me wrong. Never 'rely' on a 3rd party app to manage packages. Understand ADB. That said, the app I mentioned is made by XDA-Dante63 and very legit - it does a great job.
Bixby is fine to disable. Assistant is better anyway. Samsung Pay and a bunch of other stuff can be safely removed. My watch works wonderfully but other user experiences may vary.
