Hi all,
I have a few questions. I would like to move to the 998u1 firmware from 998u beta 3. My question is, can I move to beta 3 on 998u1, still get ota updates, and not have an issue with the eSim I'm using on Tmobile. Thanks!

Hi guys,
I just replaced my note 3 after 14 days and switched to the note 4. I was liking the note 3 and already rooted it and had a great custom rom on it. But something was calling me to get the note 4, so here I am. This is probably answered somewhere, and I tried searching the threads, but I'm getting old and I think I just can't find anything anymore. So quick question, I'll probably run stock for a couple of days just to get a feel for it as I usually do but I wanted to know is there any concerns I should have for rooting the note 4? besides the Knox issue, which is not really a concern for me. I'm currently on stock android 4.4.4, with ANJ7 firmware. I'm seeing a 128.37 MB software update from tmobile, anyone know what this update is? and if I should not download it , because of rooting concerns? Not sure if its just a security update or something...
Thanks for any help given from a long time xda member since before android on my ancient mogul windows mobile pda .
Ok I think I might have answered my own question, I couldn't wait no longer so just did the update and its just updated the firmware to K4, which I see is already supported on the latest custom roms.

The Note 4 and Note 3 are basically exactly the same as far as ROOTING
is concerned and both are rooted in the same manner exactly.
Here is a direct download link for the latest cf-autoroot which has everything
you need to root the N9010 Note 4, it has the windows odin and cf-autoroot
which is specifically designed to work with the Note 4 N910T:

The 128.37 MB software update will upgrade your phone to the latest NK4
baseband and I would highly recommend to go ahead and make the upgrade.
Good luck and have a great evening.
This is a noon question.
I have Jailbroken other phones in the past with no problem. My question is can I jailbreak my Note 3, and keep the current stock OS from the carrier and still receive its updates?
Thanks
No updates will fail you would have to remove jailbreak (root=jailbreak on android)

Thread moved to Q&A where it should have been posted originally. Please post in the correct sections, thanks.
If I use Odin to install One UI, will it root my phone and is the lastest update already available to install because I'm finding ways to install it and it says install an early build, and will it go to the lastest build or will it be in the early build?

First of all, what version of the Note 9 do you have? US model or international model?

Ok. You're new here, so I'll help you out. But next time, search for your answers before starting a new thread. We already have at least two threads on how to install the One UI Beta, and another thread that's is a discussion of the beta and I cludes instructions on how to get it.
Main thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/note-9-pie-alpha-t3849980
And these two are threads other people started stating how they installed it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/how-one-ui-beta-verizon-note-9-t3877076
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/how-to-beta-update-note-9-u1-t3875949
You need to read those threads to understand what you're doing, the pros and cons, and how to downgrade if needed. And please for the love of God, if you install it and have some bugs, don't start a new thread. Post those issues in the main discussion. One. We've probably already discussed it and maybe even found a solution. Two, it makes it easier to track.
Ok, so you have an ATT Note 9. You have two options for Pie. One, you can flash the leaked C builds and keep all your carrier features and bloat. Such as WiFi calling, VoLTE, RCS messaging, and all those lovely ATT apps, and that gorgeous ATT boot animation and jingle.
Or, you can use the modified ODIN to flash the U1 firmware and get on the official BETA Z builds. This will be a clean OS with no carrier bloat, apps, or boot animations. But it will mean no WiFi calling or VoLTE, etc.
If you go the C build route to keep carrier features, you will have to use ODIN to downgrade to Oreo each time you want to sideload the newest leak.
If you go the official Beta route and don't care about those carrier features, then you will use ODIN once to flash the U1 firmware and then you can update via OTA each time an update is pushed.
Which one do you want to do?
I know there are a ton of posts but I've read quite a bit and need a straight answer to a couple of questions. Is there a bloat free pie version for the U1? If so, will I keep getting OTAs If I flash it?
Should I just wait for the official OTA? Thank you and sorry for the dumb questions

It is not available yet. There was a beta, but it hasn't been updated in a couple months.
Yes it will be available.
Yes it will be bloat free.
Yes, you should wait for the official OTA.

Yes it is the final version didn't you read the patch notes
I have G973U1 S10 Unlocked and in the Beta program but I have not seen another Update yet on my phone connected to T-Mobile network. So do I just keep waiting?? Still on the last Beta that came to me.

It should be soon. The T-Mobile beta users in the beta community are reporting they're getting the final. The next uodate you get will be the final.
firmware.science does not even have the Update up yet from Beta 7 to this.

We will get it just like a regular update. Unlocked means that it will probably be last though.
