2 weeks ago I connected my GNote to mycomputer, Kies Started and notify me by a new firmware update is available , Then I select yes.
Don't upgrade to 2.3.6, since I get this update I feel my GNote become slow, even slower than Galaxy S II.
I want to remove it, and downgrade it But I don't know how? GNote performance on 2.3.5 was better and faster
Regards;;

My Gnote is by far faster and snappier with 2.3.6 (KKA) compared to 2.3.5.
Everything is faster and smoother and less lag.
And now im running a tweaked 2.3.6 thats even better.
Hey, my samsung Note feels very sluggish in home screen and screen transitions and animations even though I've turned off them all and using launcher pro. When I make the exact same settings on hte Galaxy S2 and having them side by side the note is more sluggish when moving widgets, browsing through apps and through pictures. Im running 2.3.5 on the GS2 and 2.3.6 on the Note. I have like 5 apps installed since I've just started using the Note.
Any tips why the Note is more sluggish then the GS2?
A look at the leaked Lollipop build on the Note 3. Should be pretty much the same for the Note 4.
Looks very nice indeed! Especially the Dialer, Settings overview and Previews look much better than on 4.4.4.
Very promising!

Nice nice.
Which someone would v port the Lockean
I personally don't like the Vanilla flavor of Lollipop on my Nexus 7, the TouchWiz overlay is essential to complete Lollipop. :good:
I've got the leaked L build flashed on my Note 3 (N9005) since Christmas Eve, timing couldn't be better.
It performs way more fluidly and consistently than the Note 4 (N910C) on 4.4.4. If this is what Lollipop brings to the table for Android, I can't wait until the OTA drops. Samsung, it's 2015, and your flagship's been waiting months!

Don't nag! Does your Note 4 only work on 5.0?
I experienced lollipop on my S5 and I isn't that fluid at all, now having a note 4 I hope it will be.Shame there are no news when it will be released....
Lollipop users - is the calculator bug still there?

when it's up to me it has nothing to do with nagging, this is a discussion site. My Note 4 just isn't fluid in daily use and my fingerprint scanner is more a gimmick than a useful feature. Reading the posts about 5.0 being more fluid i'm also waiting for this update. Until then I almost don't install any software. I'm still not sure if selling my Note 3 was a wise decision.

if your note 4 is not fluid with stock then either it needs a reset or probably something wrong with your device

I'm the opposite. I'm loving Lollipop vanilla but I cry and cringe every time I see or use TouchWiz.
I just wish someone would leak the Note 4 TW Lollipop build soon. Or at least Samsung release it. I just can't stand the lag on 4.4.4 TW. Most of all the multitasking switcher.
I think Note 3 is better than Note 4 because its better optimized system and we will see if it'll change with Lollipop for the Note 4, but this is always going to be this way on newer devices. Note 3 works for me much better and is fluently than the 4 is @ this time.
I find the recent apps menu to work flawlessly on my note N910F...idk why so many people have problems with that.

Which variant of Note 3 and Note 4 are you talking about? I had a Note 3 Snapdragon and now I have an Exynos Note 4 and surely Note 4 is smoother, faster and has a little better battery life.I am very satified and Lollipop is around the corner to perfect the expierience
Both Snapdragon but I would'n say the CPU makes the difference since Note 3 is working perfectly. I'm not saying the Note 4 is bad, but the Note 3 is working better on stock ROM's.
My old snapdragon note 3 is wiped nothing installed and on latest stock. Its definetly worse than my exynos note 4 and not even close.
And old touchwiz just sucks slow and laggy i wouldnt buy note 4 if they didnt change it.
is the leaked build 64 bit ? 64 bit kernel for exynos with armv8 instruction set ?
Nope, Samsung will not be adding 64-bit support for the note 4 most likely nor for the note 3...

You have right I find the note 3 also better than note 4 much more stable in performance and feeling
how would u know? do u work for samsung? i think not.. oh and the note 3 DOES NOT have a 64bit chip. please dont flood with useless wrong information
Hello people,
I have lollipop on both phones my old Note 3 which has the 2 months ago leaked 5.0 and Note 4 Poland 5.0.1. Now that I have both of them next to each other, I can tell you that the Note 3 is way fluid, smoother in animation and faster than the Note 4. I'm not sure why but it feels like Note 3 is the newer not the Note 4.
For example, downloading apps from google play you can see this mil second pause on the moving bar but on the Note 3 is non stop. Even when scrolling on long list I can tell that the animation is lower than 30 FPS but on the Note 3 is over 50fps for sure.
What could be the reason behind this? is it the 2k display? or is it the GPU on the SD? or the Note 3 software is better optimized ?
would love to hear from you.
I too am very curious about this.

He has the Polish 5.0.1 Samsung firmware, so it's Exynos.
Hi all,
I have N910C, flashed fresh over Odin 3.09 and it is working really great on my device, way way better and responsive than on KitKat 4.4.4. This time Samsung done great job with TW, no more lag.
I never liked to make OTA update as it is kind "dirty", especially when we have so huge update from KitKat to Lollipop.
dalvik -> art etc, a lot of things which make huge impact on performance.
Id say the higher resolution is the reason, although the note 4 has faster hardware the extra 1000 pixels is a tough weight to pull. With that samsung likely reduced animation frames to conserve power and fluidity.
Back when lcd tech was only just starting to roll and 720p was the most common standard, we all felt a big hit moving to 1080p. I remember lots of people having to update systems just to keep their gaming withdrawls in check, ahh the days.

Where did you get 1000 pixels from?! Note 4's screen has over 1.5 million more pixels than Note 3's.
A 1000 more pixel lines i ment.
Even before the update my brothers Note 3 was more fluid and smooth in compare to my Note 4.
I thought so too, but i did find app initiation time and response was slightly better on note 4 from memory. I concluded that the animation fps was lower on note 4 and less appealing but overall was more stable.
Who ever say it because of the higher resolution, I started to doubt that. I own Tab S 8.4 as well which is based on 4.4.2 and has less powerful CPU with QHD screen just like the Note 4. The animation on the Tab s is more fluid than the Note 4 which has better CPU/GPU. I really started to think that the software is not optimized as much as it needs to be and I bet you that people with 805 SD will see a better animation and smoothness.

Dunno when i put them side by side note 4 is definetly faster. And even before update note 3 was better seriously? 4.4.2 on note 3 sucks imo i wrote that alot of time if they wouldnt upgrade that tw i wouldnt touch any other samsung phone. 1st responsive and smooth tw on any samsung phone i tested was note 4 exynos. And with 5.0.1 its even better i have a nexus 5 too and samsung did a great job with this update in my opinion.
I flashed my 910F with 5.0.1 today and the phone felt sluggish and worse then kitkat.
made a factory reset and now its perfect. didn't find any lag at all so far, finally feels like lollipop. (and got my first 50k on antutu with a stock touchwiz rom)

I tried s6 in store. There isnt much difference with note 4 lollipop. There is some small changes could be good for note 4 too. Like some buttons moved down tabs button on browser and all buttons in gallery etc.
In performance i saw no difference even s6 had stutters on animations. And they say camera launch very fast but it was pretty same with my exynos note 4.in night mode s6 is faster it was all.
And there is no multitasking button lag. Note 4 still has initial 0.5 sec delay if its your 1st press for while but later than if you keep spamming on both it was same speed app switches was faster on note 4.
And it was heating alot.(it wasnt on charge) dunno but it didnt feel very fast it was nearly identical with my exynos note 4.

I guess it all depends on what apps are running already in the background. I've found on my Note 4 that a number of apps auto restart in the background which slows down the CPU performance. Sadly the only way to control apps restarting or refreshing in the background is to root and if you've just bought your phone, you're unlikely to want to root your phone and void the warranty.
I'm just hoping for a smoother feel. The new s6 TouchWiz was tested on the snapdragon chip but Samsung used their own chip like you said. This is a little worrying in respect of all previous models with snapdragon chips. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Background apps there for s6 too you cant avoid it. I dont see any slowdowns on my exynos note 4 lollipop. Dont expect alot of difference if you dont like current lollipop on note 4. Cuz s6 and note 4 was very similar on my test.
The animations on the S6 are smoother and better looking overall I don't get how people can't see them lol...From my point of view it does look really fast and better than the current Lollipop build on our Note 4 devices.Let's hope we get the new UI it would really benefit the note 4.

Well they are not, even it has animation stutters. Better looking maybe but definetly not smoother tried on like 4 different phones all had stutters generally. It could be cuz pre relaese software its ok but how do you have the idea its faster and smoother while its definetly not atm atleast not from exynos note 4.

I looked at some review of the phone and it looked smooth, I agree that I did see some small stutter but it isn't that noticeable.I am not saying that my note 4 SD isn't smooth but the S6 looks smoother to me.Also look at how the dialer opens fast as well as contacts and some other stock apps.

It's not the fact that I don't like lollipop on the Note 4, clearly we have to wait for the final release of 5.0.1 or even 5.0.2. The current versions are test versions and are not final. When the full roll out comes for the Note 4, we'll get a better comparison. Also the two phones use different chips so if you've got an exynos Note 4 then you have a better comparison to the s6 in terms of being in a level playing field. The hope is that the release of 5.1 on the Note 4 in Q2/Q3 will fix or reduce the stutter when opening apps.
One particular one I find takes a while is YouTube. On the s6, it opens up a lot faster.
Watch this YouTube video. Granted it's comparison of s5 vs s6 but the Note 4 lollipop vs s6 lollipop will be up soon over the next few months once the s6 is released and the Note 4 has its lollipop release. The video shows the lag on the s5, which is almost certainly a snapdragon version, against the exynos s6.

youtube is broken by itself dont really say alot. but no doubt its faster than s5 there is a huge cpu difference. yes exynos note 4 is better rival for it. my note edge didnt get lollipop yet so i cant do a fair comparison but note 4 exynos on lollipop is very smooth no stutter etc.. and i think rollout for 910c started too its almost done.
snapdragon versions could need 5.1 update which fixed alot of performance problems for nexus 6 too. but we will see.
All I want is the 5x5 for stock ...

Hello!
Is there any stable Custom Rom available for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to install Android 8.0/8.1 ?
Or the Pixel XL 2 Android O 8.0 port available for Note 5?
Thanks
Anyone? :|
None yet, wait for LOS 15.1 or the release of Oreo for the S8, some person port it to the Note 5.
Where is the 8.0 roms devs the s6 has them and there are rocking the same processor !
Be patient, it will come soon!!
I will try lol

I have tried the rom and here is my take on it. The battery charge meter is glitchy and inaccurate. Fast charging doesn't work correctly. The performance of my device went down a massive amount. Even Facebook was having issues with lag. NFC doesn't work at all so if you use tap and pay with your phone you will lose that function. My battery life was hit and miss. Some charges I would get 16 hours of medium use and others I would be lucky to get 8 as well as the phone would be constantly really hot. In the end I decided to drop back to the S8+ ported version of Android N for stability and battery life.

Max Lee did a video on it with links ext. Just google S8+ Oreo port for note 5
So I have figured out the issue behind charging. For some reason android sees it as a 2550MAh battery. So it essentially stops the device from charging once it hits that capacity. This is fine for the S6 because that is exactly the correct size. However on the note 5 it's a solid 10% less than the actually specs of the Li Ion that comes packed inside. I can only assume if there was a way to show android the proper capacity it would fix the issue with charging
Here is a snap showing what it detects as
