If youre planning to move to the global rom, dirty flashing will not work. You will have to reset the phone.
I suggest downloading the fastboot version of the rom and flashing it.
This will reset your phone and format it as well. But this will prevent any issues in the future which might occur from other methods since it installs everything from scratch.

From the what i know and read, in the track record of xiaomi, they give more importance to global roms, but currently if im not wrong, EU is at a higher version. Not sure if this will stay as the phone is still releasing globally and the global rom updates might start coming later.
I may try the same. Do I need to unlock the bootloader to flash the Global ROM?

You need to install Google play services, play store, service framework, account manager, contact sync, calendar sync apks manually.
You won't get them worked on CN Stable or Dev rom.
No Google services will work.
You can install Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on CN Stable and CN Dev(weekly) but it supports Gapps.

[Cuz Eu rom has much more features, better RAM management and battery performance.
Again they enabled Camera api 2. Though it's not a full control over the camera but you know, something is better than nothing. Specially with Open camera and ProShot we can capture RAW image.
Afterall it's a stock Rom but with some good modification.
GIVE IT A TRY.

Yes There's eu rom for redmi 4.
Tutorial is similar to flash a custom rom.
just one thing you need to remember that you can't wipe system before installing eu rom.
So.
Unlock your device
install TWRP
Boot into TWRP
Wipe your Internal Storage & Data or you can just do a factory reset from Wipe menu. ( It's a must for newer Xiaomi device as it's encrypted by Xiaomi.)
After wiping Internal Storage & Data reboot system.
Your phone will be started as new now.
Go through the setup wizard to finish boot.
Now download eu rom for your device.
After downloading boot into TWRP.
Make a Backup of your current ROM ( Optional but recommend.)
Wipe Data, Cache but DON'T WIPE SYSTEM.
Install Eu rom.
After Installing don't wipe cache.
Reboot system.
Done.

One thing you need to remember, If you're on China rom and you don't have Google apps on your rom, you won't get Google apps after flashing eu rom.
So for unlocking your device flash Global Dev rom first and unlock. ( Without dev rom you can't unlock your device.)
As Global Dev rom has full package of Gapps so there's nothing to worry about.
After flashing Eu rom you'll get the Gapps.

I think you misunderstand something. It doesn't matter which rom you use china, global or custom ones, xiaomi.eu will always have google services. They are built-in in xiaomi.eu. Btw, you won't get incremental ota in xiaomi.eu. You need to download full rom to upgrade.

Actually I tried.
I flash eu rom over my Global rom. After rebooting with eu rom all the gapps package was there. Then again I flash eu rom over RR. On RR I didn't flash Gapps. So after flashing eu rom I didn't find any gapps there. Then again I flash back RR, Install Gapps. Then again flash eu rom over it. This time I got the Gapps. As I flash Pico Gapps on RR so I only got Play Store on eu rom.
Remember, xiaomi.eu ask you not to wipe system. That's the reason. It's like an OTA update.
If you install eu rom like an ordinary ROM it will be in bootloop.
I might be wrong but literally I'm not

Would suggest the global stable ROM at this point. It's got great RAM management and is running really smooth and at times more stable wrt to LOS and AOSP ROMs. Plus even the battery life has been quite decent too

Does anyone else received this update on the Mi9T Pro? I have an EEA version and the update just popped up today. It looks like the update to Android 10 and miui 11 in one go. Just wanted to know if anyone else installed this. The current version is good enough for me now not keen on the update, specially if it brings bugs.

Installed and rooted via patched image a few hours ago and everything is working smoothly. The setting menu is much more streamlined and the fingerprint scanner works much better now! First I would like to thank you your comment and advice. I was planning to upgrade but not just yet. However I don't think you would have to be that drastic and your comment may also scare others.(don't have to be a scaremonger) No one will hack my device or steal my data just because I wait on an update?!!
I have already tested miui11 on my prev k20pro and I found lots of bugs. I know this is an official update, but we all know this can still be full of bugs. I do like xiaomi (otherwise I wouldn't buy the mi9t pro) specially because they provide frequent updates. However this isn't my first xiaomi device and taking my previous experience with buggy updates I just wanted to be extra careful before rolling out the update, mainly because my BL is locked and couldn't flash the downgrade immediately if I find the new version unusable.
Luckily others already provided positive feedbacks so I'm sure I will do the update shortly.

You can, it's the same ROM, at least for xiaomi.eu
The first thing I do when I buy a xiaomi / redmi / poco is to change my rom to xiaomi.eu. I prefer to have the mi phone and mi messages aplication and there are options that the Global rom does not have, such as super wallpapers for example.
Has ther been any issue about going back to Official Global such as Anti-Roll-Back etc.?

I assume you are already unlock bootloader. Just flash it with miflashtool (found on official website). I already tested. From Global to EU and back to Global Indonesian. #DWYOR
The regular Global is suck, dialer, message and contact using google product.
Hi,
Just ordered a Mi11 from China, and I would like to flash it with a global or EU stock firmware.
Would you recommend the Global or the EU one?
I am not a customer rom type really and I would just like to have the phone as close as a stock firmware experience with google services, OTA s and all.. although I understand it will never be perfect since the boot loader needs to stay unlocked.
Is it just a matter of unlocking BL and flash it with a stock firmware found here https://c.mi.com/global/miuidownload/index, am I right?
Thanks

I'm using MMX MIUI 13 latest beta build with some app updated from miui stock apps group and I have the new widgets and phone is very responsive and good battery performance. After I unlocked the bootloader I downloaded the fastboot rom from their site and just flashed every straight forward and easy. Just remeber to format data once you do the initial setup I'm case you have issues with storage permissions. So basically after you flashed go through the setup screen don't set it up just finish a quick set up and go to settings and format again through settings after it's done just setup device like you would normally do.

So you must said EEA, not EU for don't create understanding problems.
Be careful because you have a Chinese model, so don't relock bootloader (if using MiFlash) because by default MiFlash apply option "Lock & Clean". Each time you'll use MiFlash, be sure to select on the right bottom just "Clean all", never lock with a another ROM model than Chinese. If you lock bootloader with a EEA/Global ROM, you will brick your device.
