has anyone noticed how the screen doesn't stay at 120hz long enough while scrolling? When your finger is on the screen, it stays at 120hz however, as soon as you lift your finger from the screen, it reverses back to 60hz and the scroll gets jittery. it's very annoying and am contemplating going back to android 11 just for this. 60hz on a 60hz panel isn't bad, but forcing 60hz on a 120hz native panel, the stutter is quite annoying. Does anyone know of a fix?
To force 120 Hz mode use this adb command
Code:
adb shell settings put secure refresh_rate_mode 2

Samsung Android
The Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra units in the US received the stable version of One UI 4 last week, even the carrier phones. However, one bug managed to sneak through the beta tests and is currently affecting users.
The issue is with the 120 Hz mode, specifically that the screen drops down to 60 Hz as soon as the user lifts their finger rather than, say, when the scrolling animation is done.
Samsung is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. It seems that this issue was actually caught in the beta tests, but the fix that is present in the current version of the software (BUK7) only works on some units. A more complete fix should arrive with the next update.

Its on XDA. You can try Google Galaxy Max Hz XDA, and it should comes up. You'll need to grant the ADB access though to get the 120hz fix working

* advantages
- overlay and not a seperate app

- the image works and moves with the official samsung AOD app
- you can create your own images

Sounds good.
Thank you.

Works as described on Note 8 unrooted. However , i noticed that I lost the ability to use the clock widget. I can't swipe to see the other pages in the widget and interact with it. So I can't click next song for example when playing music.
This is the case even with pratial images (not full screen one's). As if im only clicking/interacting with the image overlay. Is this the case with everyone else?
Any fix? Does it work normally on rooted devices? How do I fox it pls ><
A little expensive the full pack... how many images can personalize? 1 or more?
It seems that there is no more support...
Nice app, but the paid options are way overpriced in my oppinion.
Paid user. Worked perfectly on my note 8. But now using a s10+, Nadroid 9.0 Pi.
The AOD images goes off often and aren't consistent. Only the images within the a few mm of the clock (box range) remains. While the rest reappearing sometimes only and on interactions.
Pls advice
Hello All,
I have bought last days a galaxy note 8 snapdragon version, but i have seen a bug (maybe is not a bug) that when using AOD enabled with infinity effect enabled (blue theme) screen on aod stays blue with stars on top and after one minute it goes completely black and shows stars and clock only, that i love it... but when phone is charging and aod enabled, the infiniy effect on aod stays always blue on top of the screen and not black with stars only. Well im wondering if is there a possibility of screen burn from static blue color for all over the night if phone stays all night in charge?
Please Note 8 USERS check and reply if you have the same problem.
Dont ask me to turn off infinity wallpaper or aod bcs i like it and i want to use it, also i am all day out so i must charge the phone over night.
Pic attached.

If you do this regularly, yes it will burn the screen. Your top part the screen will be slightly greener (yellow-red) by burning the blue rapidly.
I do not think it will damage the screen, to the naked eye it looks static, but AOD does shift pixels, to avoid this
@xda_rosh is there any way to fix it?
@winol but why it is black in normal use and blue when charging?
Anyone with Note 8 if have the same problem?
Having the AOD numbers ON is not a problem as they move around a bit. But blue gradient definitely will ruin you display. I can guarantee that. My first Note 8 came one side little brighter (blue-white). I purposely made a blue gradient and left the screen on at high brightness a couple of night. It made the screen bit even by burning that side a bit.
The strange thing is that even the samsung agents that i spoke knew nothing about this.
Is very anoying that we cant use AOD because colored theme applied to AOD will burn the screen
Hi!
I noticed some randomly appearing flickering artifacts (they have random shape, random position on the screen and can appear once an hour or every second) ONLY while viewing image from rear camera via stock camera app. But they didn't appear on video, which I recorded via screen recording app. So, my Mi A2 (I bought it a week ago) is non-rooted and has locked bootloader. Build number is PKQ1.180904.001.V10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ (Android 9 Pie). Reboot and factory reset didn't help. Did anyone have something like that? Help me please!

It appears in daylight too.
Hi I have the same problem.
I have the android One 4gb global version, (Sweden)
android pie 9.0 V10.0.2.0
Tried rebooting and factory reset.
Reset cache memory in the camera 2.0 app didn't help.
Have tried different camera apps, same problem.
And i noticed when i look at different streaming sites the artifacts patches appear on the video.
I have described the problem in the feedback app.

I don't think this is because of the anti banding. They appears at daylight, but more often at lowlight conditions. And for me they are completely black random shaped things, and they doesn't appear on video, so i think its not the camera's fault. Maybe an update will fix it.

Strange, I'm on stock pie and this doesn't happen to me, try flashing different roms? if all fails I think you should return your phone because this seems like a serious issue

They are rarely appear, and has no affect on videos/pics, so not a very big deal, just annoying sometimes. Im on stock pie too, i haven't tried flashing any different roms, now i'm waiting for the january update, if it does not fix it, i will send it back.
This happening to my Global 4/64 A2 on Pie. BTW, it does not happen with OpenCamera, only with the stock camera app.

Chrome blackout ribbon tabs after scrolling down
Hello,
i have a trouble with Chrome on EMUI Desktop 10. When I scroll at the end of the web page every time Chrome blackout ribbon tabs. I must close Chrome and open again and than tabs ribbon is visible. I try Huawei P30 and P20Pro with the same result.
Can anyone advise you what to do with it?
Another problem spotted I'm afraid:
I've just installed EMUI 10 on my Mate 20 Pro and noticed that within Huawei desktop mode YouTube videos are capped at 480. Any higher resolutions are not available to select. Using EMUI 9x I could output 1080p60 on my external monitor using USB-C. Very disappointing and hope this gets fixed soon, unless someone else has a solution?
And also in netflix there is only audio with black video, why is that? Widevine L1 should allow 1080p streaming..
This simply happens if you're using incognito mode.
The screen will appear but the link and tabs won't appear. (Even regular screenshot won't work)
Try using standard mode of Chrome tabs then try again.

same issue.
it will not work through the app or through chrome.
could it be a drm issue rather than a bug?
Hi
I noticed that my Pixel 5, barely changes the brightness in low to medium light. (unlike my previous Pixel 4).
It changes the brightness when the light changes are big. Like jumping from a dark room, to a bright room.
But doesn't change the brightness when changes are small. Like, a dim room in the morning vs a dim room in the night. (scenarios like from 1% to 35%~ ).
So today I compared both light sensors and the Pixel 5 has different values. Then I opened "DevCheck", went to Sensors, then LIGHT and I started rotating both phones together and the Pixel 4 changes constantly but the Pixel 5 it just jumps abruptly (see below screenshots).
Is anybody having similar behavior with Adaptive Brightness?
Is your sensor behaving also like mine?
Pixel 4:

Pixel 5:
Edit: I also noticed that the Pixel 4 in a dark room reaches 0.0X (and different values between 0.0X and 1.0X) while the Pixel 5 in the same dark room reaches 1.0X.
I hope this is not a faulty sensor in my device. (So I don't have to go through RMA).
Thanks!
Mine also does this, although I havn't noticed too much of a change only coming from a Pixel 2XL.
Is it a limitation due to where the light sensor is placed?I'm assuming it's under the display (near the proximity sensor).
I believe this is just another contra of having the stuff under the display.
However, maybe Google just needs to improve the drivers to make it work better in dark rooms.
Personally my issue is that when I need 1% brightness, phone is still like at 20%-30% brightness and vice versa.
I don't think mine responds at all. Coming from a pixel 2xl which seemed loads better. Also my auto rotate has stopped working. Google are sending out a replacement, not good for a 2 week old phone. I'll see how the new one lasts but I'm already thinking about getting a refund and trying something else
